The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven Book 2) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Robbyn Perkins

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven, #2)The Girl and the Gargoyle by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The second book in this series starts with our main character, Lucy. The second book follows Lucy further as her new life now unfolds with new adventures as a half-demon, half-witch. Lucy’s father now wants to know her and spend time with her. Since he has not been interested in her before, she is naturally suspicious. Is there a sinister plot at work here? To top it off, Lucy’s boyfriend has family who wants to be part of their lives now as well. With so much family drama, along with supernatural powers and quirky characters such as demons, witches and gargoyles, how could you not enjoy this second book?

The series of books are definitely not stand-alones. They read much better in order. If you have not read the first, you will definitely want to read and learn of Lucy and her history. The first book is a great set-up to understand the character and drive behind Lucy and her new life. I love watching Lucy’s character unfold deeper as these new adventures play out in front of my eyes.
