My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Betty was seventeen alone and pregnant but the only thing that kept me going was my love for Charlie, until that faded and then I was alone the only thing I could do was give my baby the life I could not give her.

Marlena has grown up with two loving parents until one day when she discovered she can not help her father the whole devastating truth is unveiled and she then makes it her mission to find her biological mother.

This story broke my heart, the pure emotion that this book evokes and portrays is heart warming and heart shattering in pages of each other. The story is basically two halves and with that the is tragedy and heartache but love and compassion to each of the main characters.

This is the second book I have read by this author and they are always written with such empathy and draws you into the story with each word, they are well written and the story offers a great hours of reading. I can’t wait to read more.
