One of my guilty pleasures is reimagined fairytale and this is a very unique one. I loved it. This incarnation of Cinderella is fast paced and definitely not a child’s story. There is lots of spice and chemistry. There are all the normal things like the wicked stepmother and the 2 spoiled stepsisters, the dashing prince and the slipper, but there is so much more! This version has a fierce and determined heroine! All it needed was to be longer!
Well hey there vodka. I sat on this book for a bit debating if I wanted to read it and I kept seeing so many amazing reviews coming in! I have never read anything by either author and I am glad I read Scarlet Princess. Rowan is brave, witty….amazing! This book has romance, laughs and the ability to keep you going. I can’t wait for book 2!

This is such a wonderful and informative children’s book. I read it within a day (698 pages on my kindle), but I think it would take my 9 year old about week to read. The author builds on characters and scenery so well throughout the entire book. I can envision the island and all it’s sights around it. I can’t wait to have my daughter read this so we can talk about it and learn more about the animals in the book. The last 50 pages (reading from my kindle app on my phone so this could be different depending on how you are reading this) are a glossary and an appendix that is filled with so much information on the animals, plants, and other ocean information talked about throughout the book. You get all your facts, but you also get a little magic and adventure in this book at the same time. Will Cherish and her family of whales survive the virus and all the dangers around them? Will the Dolphin Riders be able to help those with symptoms?! I would recommend this book to dolphin lovers (of any age!); children doing any marine studies/book reports on dolphins, sharks, whales, or the morbillivirus; and just children who love animals and the ocean. I can’t wait until a second book comes out, so I can see how the adventure continues for the group of dolphins and their pals.
I dove into this story completely blind. The cover alone got my interest. When I tell you I was surprised! In a good way. A great way. A.L. Morrow has such beautiful writing. Her descriptions of things, like the ball when Ashling and the prince were looking out at the party, has a whimsy and magic to it that kept me intrigued. What was shocking you may ask? The dynamic with Callum and Teague, and the reasoning for the ball. It was a Cinderella-esque story with so much more… spice. I loved it! The only negative is now I have to wait for more!

I am completely obsessed with this series; it doesn’t happen with many so when it does, I know I will return time and time again to read it. So now Vanessa has completely won the heart of Grey, God of the underworld but must deal with what a lot of us must deal with. The dreaded mother-in-law, only hers is worse because her mother-in-law is a queen. She accepts a mission from Grey’s mother, that at first thought sounds simple enough but, when are things ever that simple for Vanessa. Finding herself prisoner to Aroz in an invisible castle quite literally in the clouds, how will she complete her mission especially when her very soul is at stake. The author adds a touch of beauty and the beast to the story and for Vanessa it is not all it’s cracked up to be. After finishing this book, I was glad to see that the author has a book 4 coming out next month because I am not quite ready to say goodbye to these characters. This is a must-read series that will draw you in and not let you go, not that you would want to go except maybe to buy the next book!

This book was a great read, quick and easy but full of all the right stuff. I didn’t realize there would be an erotica side to it, so that took me (pleasantly) by surprise. This is definitely not your childhood Cinderella story. The characters were well written and likeable and made you root for the heroes and truly hate the villains. The story follows a young Cinderella-like woman named Ashling who goes to a ball to warn the prince of impending danger and ends up leaving behind a shoe. Although it follows some of the plot of the original Cinderella story, this is anything but typical and has a lot to offer. The fantastic way the world is described and the idea behind the villains and how they seem to live and attack was exceptional. I really enjoyed this book and that’s why I gave it 5/5 stars. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next and how the plot and characters develop. Although the bones of the story follow the original fairy tale, I’m certain this author will make it as exciting as it would be if you were reading it all the first time. I really enjoyed this book and it only took me a couple days to read. Short, sweet and entertaining. What more can you ask for?

A thrilling twisted ride. This was an amazing suspenseful thriller. It is layered with deceit, envy and revenge. A word of warning, this is the type of book that you can not start when you have other things to do. Once you start it grips you and you won’t be stopping until the end. The writing just flowed and the author was very skilful in placing the twists that took me by surprise. Absolutely brilliant – highly recommend.

What a wonderful second book in the series. The continuation of the story of Cieran keeps you just as enthralled as the first. This installment has truths, lies, secrets, etc. intertwined into the story. It is so exciting and so mysterious. The mystery will carry you through the book. The wonderful characters and descriptions of the the beautiful country of Ireland will amaze you. Such a good investment. So worth the purchase. Highly recommend. I could tell you more but you truly have to read this book to experience it.

This is a beautiful story. It is so well-written. The author gives definitions of words that young ones may not understand. She gives a lot of information in the book about dolphins, whales and sharks. She covers some of the environment of the area for the story. Her story is so inspirational. I just found myself tearing up as I read. Original and inspirational story that you must read. Highly recommend.
This is the first volume in the Cetacea Chronicles and is 198 pages in length. I loved the visual picture of the dolphin showing the different parts of it and also the classification of what a Dolphin actually is. Very informative! This was such a riveting tale and so full of information – my kids loved this story! We loved reading about the different animals and habitats. It was such an enlightening story that my kids are looking forward to more of these. I especially loved that although it is a fictional story it was also full of great information.
This second book in the Cross of Ciaran series does not disappoint. We are back to the 1960s, following Ciarán as he attempts to piece together the events that occurred at the time of his death. He longs to set Aisling free from her watery grave, and pay his lost love the respect that she deserves. He is also determined to find a way to wake up his brother Aodhán, who languishes in a museum, but appears to be as intact as Ciarán. His hometown bears little resemblance to how it looked in the 5th Century, but he eventually gets his bearings.
I got a little tired of all the deception with his identity, and was eager for him to fess up and admit who he really is. How long can a man covered in tattoos hide them? I wanted to hear more from Caitlin, who seemed to be less heard-from in this Book 2. However, the book was expertly written, just as Book 1, and it was easy to fall back into the story and enjoy Ciarán’s adventures. Definitely worth the read.

Scarlet Princess threw me back into my childhood and it was glorious. This book is something I would have read when I was a teenager. Actually to this day as well. It was action filled. A fairy tale with a twist.
I absolutely love the way Princess Rowan was written. She reminded me of Merida from Disney’s Brave. She was witty, sarcastic, strong, an outcast but still nothing got her down. Even after thrust into enemy lands, Socaira, with her life on the line, it never slowed her down.
Theodore, who is Rowans keeper while in Socaira, is very uptight as is all of the people from there but Rowan brings a new light to his life. The couple seem to start falling for each other even though they are supposed to hate each other.
One thing I really loved about this book is it was not love at first sight like a lot of fairy tales, the relationship built up as time went on.
Honestly this book is one of my favorites I have read in 2021! Can’t wait for more!

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and have read every one of her books. One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to bring the story to life on every page. Her writing skills and attention to details not only give her stories a realistic feel but she makes her characters pop. This book is no different. It is the sixth book in this series which I highly suggest reading all the previous books as they are that awesome. I loved being pulled into the story from the beginning as well as kept engaged to the end. This is a fast paced story that is full of action and romance. The characters are strong and connectable. They give life to the story. In this book we get to see Nick’s story and he is determined to break Allie’s walls down. But the big question remains, will he pick up those pieces? I loved their growth throughout the story. Their chemistry is hot and steamy and you don’t want to miss them. This is truly a great story that I loved and I can’t wait to see what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Cinderella is so well known and some variations of this story can be dry and boring. But look no further than Morrows book for a refreshing retelling. It was a nice surprise with a lovely storyline that is sure to keep one intrigued until the end! The story while based on Cinderella has a nice original feel.

I loved this story! Mila and Elias are so cute together! This was such a unique twist on a shifters tale. I really enjoyed it. It had just enough fire of the heart and true danger to keep you sucked into the story. I really liked Mila’s character and just that she followed her calling no matter the cost. Elias makes you just melt with his words and just all together sexiness!! You won’t regret reading this!! I can’t wait to read more of the series!

The Girl and the Demon: YA Paranormal Romance by Pauline Gruber is the third book in the Girl and the Raven series. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order as it follows the same main characters and would enhance your enjoyment of the series. As soon as I started reading this book I was yet again pulled into the story. I thought it was entertaining well written. I instantly connect with the main character every time I pick up one of these books. There is something about her that is so engaging and relatable, even though she is much younger than my age range. The author has created a character that is interesting and really can appeal to all. The story was great to read as well. It was exciting and felt as fresh as the first book did. This is a really strong series that I thoroughly enjoy and seems to get better with each book. I am looking forward to seeing what else this author can produce.

Stranded (Cetacea Chronicles Book 1) by Feather Chelle was a very intriguing read. I originally picked up this book because the cover is absolutely beautiful and I love all things to do with the ocean. It was great to see such beautiful creators depicted in a fantasy book that is also full of details, and lots of information to not only keep children interested but they also learn a lot of things while reading. I absolutely loved the details and descriptions of the whales and the dolphins, it really brought the creatures to life in my mind. The appendix with all of its information and the pictures were really a nice touch and my daughter loved looking at it with me.
Entwined: A Cinderella Retelling by A.L. Morrow was a fantastic well-written book. This is an adult book. I enjoyed the retelling in an “adult” way. It was a quick, fast-paced read for me. I quickly devoured it. Not my usual genre but I loved every second of it. I love venturing outside of my usual readings to explore new things. Entwined definitely didn’t disappoint, and I believe a lot of people will enjoy it. This is my first book by this author, and I can’t wait to read more! Can’t wait to read book 2 in this series!

The Bow is the 3rd book in her three immortals and this is a series that should absolutely be read in order, as each book leads into the next. I have enjoyed all three book and the author just makes me want to read more of her work. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing, you won’t want to put it down.

Vanessa Maan, Grey, Raef and Aroz are back in this story of one woman and her immortals where she is rudely awakened by being pulled out of bed, away from Grey and straight into a place which smells of brimstone. When she has realised just where she has been whisked to, she also realises that she is butt naked, thankfully her modestly is covered thanks to a comforting presence and she needs all the comfort possible when she comes face to face to the Queen of the Underworld in her throne room and surrounded by guards with scythes. This leads to the three of them making and executing a plan to get the necessary sample, but again things go awry and again Aroz grabs her and takes her away, but this time it is to his invisible palace in the Upperworld.
As Vanessa’s predicament becomes apparent and Aroz refuses to let her free, she becomes the trapped beauty to his beast, however, as she explores the palace and attempts to find her way around to the rooms Aroz has supposedly prepared for her, she runs into a soul in need. This soul asks for her help, but is it something Vanessa can give willingly, or will it spell even more trouble for her? Will she ever be rescued from her gilded cage and what will happen if she does, will she still remain in one piece, or will the Queen dish out the punishment she believes Vanessa deserves? This is another mythological and paranormal romance with Gods, mortals, the dead and everything in between as another race against time ensues and dangers are all around with more riddles to solve and secrets to be revealed as this fast paced adventure flows across the realms to its conclusion while pulling you along in the current.

I can’t help but absolutely fall for this genre. I love the idea of fighting the odds to hopefully be with the one that you love. Rain and Hunter have both had their ups and downs, which make them the people that they are today. They are doing their very best to live their best lives in a world that has come to be a place you aren’t safe and are watching your back every step of the way. The UNR are the bad guys, wanting to regulate the lives of everyone, and have no intentions backing down, rather, are gearing up their antics. Their leader, Alan, is an unforgiving, abusive wannabe alpha male that wants all those in the UNR districts to see him as the end all and be all, regardless of what it takes. Hunter is the head fighter of the Resistance, also known as the good guys, and wants to bring down the UNR, no matter what it takes. The boys of the Resistance aren’t known for their wanton for love, family, or anything else besides taking down the enemy. Time will tell if this will be the case moving forward, dig in!
Overall, this book was a fantastic read. I’m a huge fan of the dystopian setting, and quite enjoyed the love story that followed Rain and Hunter, and a teaser of who is to follow in the next installment. I did find it a little predictable at times and found that the flashbacks caused me some confusion. I would recommend this book to others that are a fan of this genre, as it was quite the enjoyable way to pass the time! Thank you, Brittany Anne, looking forward to reading more!

I just finished Wrong for Him by Christi Barth, book 3 in the Love Lottery Series. I unfortunately did not read the prior books in this series so in the beginning chapters I was playing catch up with some of the characters so did read reviews and summaries of the prior two books to help me figure out certain people. I recommend starting at book 1, unlike what I did! I was into the story so I continued on and wasn’t too behind on the character developments.
I did enjoy this book but I wanted to yell at Amelia’s brother, Alex, way too often. He seems arrogant and over the top protective of his adult sister, who has fallen in love with Alex’s best friend, Teague. Everyone else around the pair could see the dynamic and complete compatibility of this couple but they were forced to keep their relationship a secret because they were both intimidated by what Alex would say and do. As an adult, I feel they are both entitled to their feelings without any say from other parties. But this was the only character I just did not enjoy, personality wise. The book was sweet and showed how friendships form into better family than your blood relatives. The main characters had good storylines that kept me interested in their development. Definitely would recommend!

Notebook Mysteries was added to my collection of Historical Mysteries! The detail in this book really added to the suspense of the cases, not to mention the way all the cases really feed into the plot of the book as well and don’t even get me started on the recipes! Oh, my goodness I am so excited about those. It really gave me a cool way to connect with the book in a way I had not imagined! Emma is easily one of my favorite characters, I love how she handles her cases, her personality, the way she is not afraid to challenge others when it comes to a “woman’s place”. This was the first one I have gotten the chance to read but I will be checking out her book before this one to see more on these characters I have already come to love. All in all I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes the Historical mysteries YA Genre!
This is the second book in this series from this author. I hadn’t read the first book in the series so I was concerned that I would be missing out on important information. I found that I was able to pick up the story and read. I immediately connected to the main character, and she wasn’t anything like I expected her to be. I thought the story was well written, easy to read, and I didn’t want to put it down. I’ve never been to the Outback, but the author did an amazing job of taking me there. Her description was fantastic, and I could see Australia in my mind. I can’t wait to see where the author takes the story in the next book, but I do intend to read the first one to see what I missed out on. I highly recommend that you read this book if you like romantic stories that take you on a getaway.

This book blew me away, literally right from the beginning. I got into it right away, it was too hard not to in all honesty. I was captivated by the surrounding world of the the main characters, and as well as the characters themselves. It was realistic and believable truly, the plot I mean, but what I really loved was how the author chose to write this engaging story. I was highly impressed and sucked in!
I too well am able to imagine the vivid world Rain has to live in. I loved her strength and she was very admirable in more ways than one. She learned to survive, and do what she must in her hide out in her bunker. She was her own solider and she fought to live, for herself, for a better future, and for now all she had was enough for her. Throw in a injured shoulder, named Hunter now. He was hurt. He was behind the fallen world that she was stuck to live and live the way she has to. I believe to her she wanted to end his life as he ended many, but part of her saw him as a human, and she did not want to be a killer.
Hunter was a man, yes a solider behind everything the world was facing. He had his own faults with that. Between the UNR and The Resistance things got deadly as I would say. Things happened and the world basically shut down and end up in flames. Rain does help Hunter, but is the passionate chemistry they both are sharing more than either of them bargained for? The chemistry as well as the darkness to both these characters literally left me hooked. I was compelled to keep on reading and wondering where the story would lead to! There was a a lot of parts that brought on a mysterious interesting read!
The writing was amazing, and really easy to follow and get into. I really enjoyed reading about the personalities and who Rain and Hunter each were. I learned many things about both of them, and the story was so easily too get hooked into, I could not put it down. It was that good. Emma Evans is an eighteen-year-old who lives in Chicago in 1883. She gets into business school which is almost impossible for a woman at that time. Emma and her brother-in-law work with the administrator at the business school to allow more women into the school. Emma also loves mysteries and always has her notebook with her to keep all of her notes. She not only does she work with her business but she also works with Pinkerton Detective agency. with the help of an acquaintance. After graduation along with her brother-in-law’s help, Emma talks to the head of the business school to allow more women into the business school as men make more money in other jobs and new companies still need the administrative help. Along with her business mind, Emma likes solving mysteries. She is involved with the Pinkerton Detective agency, but she doesn’t work there full-time. When a detective colleague investigates an old case Emma she becomes friends with a lady that she saved from a brutal beating a few years ago. With this lady’s connections, Emma and her family can take women away from the Chicago area where they have had abusive relationships and put them back in touch with family to begin their new chapters. It really is a great read and I loved every moment.
Entwined by A.L. Morrow is a Cinderella Retelling and the first book in the Stone and Cinder series. It is the perfect book for anyone who has always wanted to read the ‘adult’ versions of their favorite fairy tales, a genre I have wanted to read for a long time and really happy now that I finally have.
Ashling, like Cinderella, is growing up living at her father’s house in the Autumnlands, where the morning of the ball at the palace celebrating Prince Callum and Duke Teague’s, his husband, third wedding anniversary, see’s something that can endanger the entire kingdom. Banned from her stepmother from going, she must race to the palace, where she meets Prince Callum and share some special moments together.
All I knew going into reading this was that it was based off of Cinderella, but after reading it, I can say that it more than exceeded my expectations! The MMF tale is full of steamy encounters and heart-racing action scenes that will leave you unable to put the book down from the moment you start to the moment you finish it, leaving you wondering what will happen next. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This book is AMAZING!!!! I am not patiently waiting for the second book. I thought that I had seen all the twists and turns of the classic Cinderella story but man oh man, was I wrong. This book isn’t at all what you think it might be. Yes, it has some of the same plot lines of the classic Cinderella. The step sisters, the step mother, and the Prince. That is however, where the similarities end. This book took so many twists and turns. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next but I was never disappointed by what did happen. The book has so much suspense that I was constantly turning the page to see what happens. I couldn’t stop reading this book once I started. I am normally not a fan of fantasy but this book might have made me change my mind. Not only does it contain fantasy but it is also pretty steamy. I think the biggest mistake I made when getting started with this book was going into it thinking it would be just another version of the classic Cinderella. So, if you could go into this book knowing that it will have some fundamentals but is not anything like the classic Cinderella, you should be amazed.
