This book may cause triggers for it has extreme violence and sexual situations. I personally loved this book, the author made you feel what she felt. The way this book was wrote it was extremely hard to put down. Liz is working her first assignment in the field when she gets abducted and put through the worst torture of her life. Alex is in the organization she was spying on. Will he be the one that swoops in to save her or the one that is doing the torturing? I highly recommend this book. Amazing page turner. Again this may cause some people triggers.
I have read some of the authors works and loved them. This story was no exception. It was a little slow to start but quickly became a book I couldn’t put down. Paisley and Caspian started out as childhood friends and both went their separate ways. They meet years later both leading separate very different lives. But once together they find something special.

Imagine wanting to write a book based loosely off a favorite show. MI5 was the headquarters of the Secret Services, and they pounced upon the writer. After reviewing files and her notes, supervising agent Alex takes special notice of Liz’s attention to details. He convinces her to go through training and become an agent. Liz’s first assignment leads her to Athens, and uniting with her estranged father. When she meets her father, she feels he is not being honest with her about details important to her case. After checking into a hotel, she learns that she is now on a hit list after Alex thwarts an assassination attempt on her life.
After recovering from injuries, Liz’s assignment is security detail at a banquet hall with Alex. The banquet is ambushed and Liz becomes separated from the main group. When she gains a view of the main area, she discovers her group is surrounded. Unsure of what to do, she suddenly hears a voice calling out her name to surrender. Liz knows the voice is sinister and belongs to someone she never thought would hurt her. What does Liz do, fight or surrender? This is a fast-paced 4 star novel that will keep you turning pages in discovery.
A wonderfully dark, emotional, heart felt HEA! Every character is so detailed you feel like they are your friends. The author makes you care so much for everyone of her characters. Cade and Winter both have reasons to fight their mounting attraction but will they realize that their love can heal all? The chemistry between these two is instant and is very spicy. This epic continuation of the DD series is well worth the read and will keep you entertained until the last page!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to get a reader’s attention and keep it. Still Taking Chances is a great read.
Elgin is back in town after 15 years. When he gets to the house he hasn’t been to in several years he sees someone in the yard. He soon learns her secret and is intrigued. The quote I chose for Elgin is: “The name is Hud, and, no, Mistress, I won’t touch you without permission.”
Mary Beth is shocked when she is told to get away from the house. She doesn’t think anyone will find out what she has hidden for the last five years. She learns that maybe she can help him out. The quote I chose for Mary Beth is: “I find that hard to believe. If you were going to spend your vacation time in Willowbrook, you would have been back to see your grandmother before now.”
The world that the author built is astonishing! I was drawn in with every word and didn’t want to stop reading. The characters were written with such clarity and truly amazing descriptions. I only wish I could meet the characters and understand their thinking and why they are the way they are! The growth through the story was so well done and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

A romance where a girl next door meets the boy next door who becomes her hero as kids and later meet again when they are all grown up. They have experienced different worlds along the way but meet by accident when they needed each other the most. I loved the connection between Caspian & Paisley from the start. Although I’m not sure I would have agreed to the marriage if I were Paisley, I totally understood why she did. There are some interesting characters in the book and the story definitely kept my attention.

This book was hard to put down. There were some unexpected secrets revealed that I didn’t see coming. This story is full of danger, lies, action, and some great characters. There are some graphic scenes in this story which may be a trigger for some people. It was hard to read about everything Liz went through but at the same time I couldn’t look away because I became completely invested in her and rooting for her. I also found myself rooting for her Liz and Alex to take the next step. If you want to find out what happens between these two then you must read this. I look forward to reading more from this author. I recommend reading this book.
If there is anything holding you up on your decision to purchase and read these novels, don’t wait, don’t stall one more moment. Get them both right now and devour this duet right now. These novels are by far my favorite two romance reads this year. Like top five reads of 2021 you guys. Phillip and Kat were everything I didn’t know I was missing in the romance department of things in romance reads. I had hit a slump and was feeling a bit bummed with my reading and these suckers really pulled me from the darkness and just made my fervor for all things love and gooeyness, yeah I don’t care if that isn’t even a word, these two make me feel it, just explode all over again. I have all the plans to buy some friends these two for the holidays because I feel like what could be a better gift. The blend of fantasy fiction and romance is flawless and the addition of music is once again a strength of this author that I will never be able to get enough of. I can’t wait to see what we will get next!

Dahlia Nite. She is everything one would hope for in a strong, heroine role. She has a snarky sense of humour, she’s strong, fierce, independent, and smart. Her weaknesses, of course, include the fact that she is an Empath, though, many would argue that’s a positive as well. It allows for her to feel all that needs to be felt, to power her through her ‘assignments’ and see right from wrong. The connections she builds with those who cross her path, and who need her, is admirable. Our lady is considered a ‘traitor’ in her homeland, and she has spent the last several decades trying to do right by the memories that haunt her and does a kick butt job at it too.
This novel was very unlike any other that I have read as of late and was much more involved. I found myself enthralled by the plot line, the twists and turns, and the way it has the reader falling into it, as though one was watching a movie. I think each and everyone of us has problems fitting into the ‘norm,’ whatever that may be, and want to know that we have someone looking out for us. Luckily for those within this novel, they have that in her. She clearly struggles with not feeling as though she fits into either the human world, or the Lyrriken world. Incredible story, characters, and world building. I will be reading more of the Nite Fire series and following our lovely heroine in her future endeavors. Well done!

This is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Series and wow its just as emotionally and captivating as the first one.
In this story we are back with Will and Tori. Will is still fighting Cancer and getting worse by the day. Even with his love for Tori isn’t enough to help him. When he is given an option of treatment to help him maybe survive and beat this cancer Will jumps at the chance.
The road that is ahead of them both is painful and heartbreaking. There are moments when you feel like Will is going to give up and moments when Tori is so heartbroken she doesn’t know how she is going to be strong enough to get him through it.
Their journey for the life they want together is going to be hard and just when you think they are winning something else brings them down but through it all the love they share is unwavering and unconditional. It’s so beautiful to read.

I found it really easy to get lost in the narration and imagine everything been described. This is the perfect kind of book to make into an audio book as it is so imaginative and detailed. <span;>I really loved the story too. I thought it was a brilliant example of fantasy done well and it has me excited for book two. I would definitely recommend this story.

I knew this book would be great when I picked it. It takes your on a rollercoaster of emotions, it is very dark, there is loads of sex, violence and mystery. I could not put it down but I found it was very quick I did not want it to end. I am hoping there will be a book 2 as it was left open for the possibility of more. This book is not for the faint hearted and would only recommend for 18+ as it may have triggers.
This book is such an emotional story. After reading the first book there was no way I wasn’t going to read this one too so I could find out how this journey would end. From the moment you start reading you are pulled straight back into the characters. This book is probably even more heart breaking and emotional that the first book. The whole way through I kept convincing myself I knew how the story would end only to change my mind a few moments later. The author has created such a lasting story that I think stays with you long after the Duet ends. This is a fantastic series that I would highly recommend.
Definitely an emotional read. Tissues are a must. I loved the first book in this duo and this picks up where the first one left off. As with the first book this one has all the feels to. This sweet tale is moving and gut wrenching. Your heart will ache and break and will pull on your heart strings. I recommend reading the books in order for the back ground and getting to know how they came to be. You will be utterly exhausted by the time you finish this journey. It is a story of a man who had nothing to live for now he has someone to fight by his side. The only problem is there is no guarantee for tomorrow, there is only now and when you have that you hang on tight to that lifeline and hope like hell. It is a beautiful love story. This is an original and wonderful Paranormal Urban Fantasy mystery story. The author’s narrative was fun and entertaining yet perilous and dangerous and with the great world building it drew me in. With lots of action and intrigue, mystery and magic, deceit and lies the story will have you totally engrossed. There is a cast of interesting characters and the story is unique. I loved the Heroines sense of self and worth and sassiness and I especially loved that the sword was a character and had a fiery spirit all of its own. This beautifully written story is full of Christmas magic. The illustrations are lovingly drawn. The story is one that all parents don’t look forward to having to face. This is a great BDSM novel that I really enjoyed reading. I had never read any of this author’s work before but I was very intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a go. I’m very glad that I chose to read this as it was a really great read. I have read a fair deal of BDSM books before but never one with a female Domme and a male sub, so this was very new for me. I have to say that I really did enjoy reading from this perspective. I’m glad that the book is told from dual POV as you get to see what’s going through both Mary Beth’s and Elgin’s minds. I was totally engrossed in reading what was going through Elgin’s head as each scene with Mary Beth played out. It was very eye-opening and thought provoking. I’d definitely like to read more BDSM books with a female Domme and male sub in future. Mary Beth and Elgin are great characters to read. Elgin has a lot of issues and it was amazing to read how Mary Beth taught him to deal with them. Mary Beth comes across as a sweet woman but she sure changes once she gets into scene. It’s like a totally different person. If you like a good BDSM book then I’d definitely recommend reading this.

Although not my favourite genre, I do enjoy dark mafia romances. Since I had never read a book by this author, I was excited to start reading. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. Maybe I set the bar too high because the other dark mafia books were excellent. I don’t know, this book fell flat. The storyline was good but the characters lacked depth which prevented me from connecting to them. This is especially important with the main character. Though I felt bad for everything that she went through, that was the extent of it.
Things were inconsistent and didn’t make sense throughout the book. She joins MI5 as a spy, obviously MI5 would have done multiple background checks on her yet never found out who her parents were? Alex her mentor thought she was a spy before she became one because she was unemotional while being interrogated. She then becomes an emotional wreck trying to commit suicide after being tortured (which is understandable). She goes through worse torture and physical torment yet is mentally stable afterwards as if life is a bed of roses. Doesn’t make sense. I might be judging too harsh because obviously many people enjoyed the book. Warning: advised for 18 years and older, very graphic and violent and may be a trigger for certain readers.

This is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet series by this author. Following the first book I knew that I had to read this one and I didn’t think I could love a book anymore, but I was wrong. The first book brought me tears of joy and this one continued that pattern for me. Of course, just as the first one was therapeutic so was this one. I love the authors writing. Her description of the story and journey that these characters are traveling on is wonderful. It’s honestly a roller coaster ride of emotions. I highly recommend this book as well as the previous book be read by every single adult. They are truly wonderful books related to death and the relationships of individuals in love and dealing with dying.
This story would make a perfect Hallmark movie. Olivia books a cruise for Christmas to get her mind off of her cheating fiance (who cheated with her supermodel sister). Once on board, things take a fairytale turn and she finds herself dining with Mr. and Mrs. Clause, meeting the man of her dreams, and quickly descending into a sugary sweet Christmas happily-ever-after. This book was not my usual read and felt like it needed some more editing. I found the pacing to be really unrealistic, but it is with Hallmark as well, so I suppose it’s par for the course! If you like light Christmas romances that are void of anything dirty, this might be the read for you!
Blood Oath: A Friends to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 2) by Amy McKinley
I don’t know how I got through life without have a book by this author to read. I have had the pleasure of reading several now and each of them has me reading as much and as often as possible, sometimes even while working (but don’t tell my boss).
Sofia and Enzo are absolutely electric together. They fight their mutual attraction even though they know how the other feels until they cannot resist each other any longer.
There are some steamy moments, suspenseful/dangerous moments and even some laughs here and there mixed in.
The characters are well developed and I find myself counting the days until the next one will be released. I need to find out what happens next with all of these amazing people.

Its the story of Caspian Archer is a workaholic and millionaire. If he doesn’t comply with his Uncle’s wishes his whole world will come crashing down. When he goes to visit his Uncle he reconnects with his childhood friend Paisley. Caspian takes advantage of the situation and offers Paisley money to pretend to be his Fiance and marry him. Liz Finley was a lounge singer and she was good at it, with a steady job and a steady life, but something was missing, excitement, she needed something which would thrill her and so she decided to start writing a book, she was inspired by a tv series and wanted to see whether that life was really like how it was prortrayed there, so that is how she ended up in the café and how she ended up meeting with Alex. This was a meeting which would change her life forever and in more ways than one, it was a meeting which left her both excited and scared all at the same time and it was that meeting which put her on a path she did not expect.
Liz left her job and returned to education so that she could follow her new dream and the job which it was centred around, however, what she expects to happen doesn’t, it is far worse, but she perseveres and attains her goal, but this is where things really start to go downhill. Danger soon comes for Liz and she soon finds out is because of her name and the blood which runs in her veins, so when she falls into the hands of the mafia she is tortured and abused for information, but she has no idea what her destiny has had in store for her and how she now needs to learn to live with it and accept it, but before she can, another mafia boss takes matters into his own hands and she goes through the abuse and torture all over again.
All through this emotionally and physically taxing time, she uses her brain to try and keep her sanity alive as she puts the pieces together and realises that she is wanted by three different mafia bosses and although she cannot understand why, all she wants is for it to end. Will she be able to survive long enough for someone to come along and be her knight in shining armour and help her through the turmoil, or will the chains that are binding her to her destiny be too strong to break and allow her to become free once and for all? This is a dark mafia romance with twists and turns which are full of action and is a definite rollercoaster of emotions, which does not let up until the very end.
Mom, Is There a Santa Claus? by Susan J. Berger- illustrations by K.C. snider. This is a cute children’s Christmas book with interesting and colourful illustrations to accompany the story. This book helps to answer the age old question that seems to come with children growing up… “is there a Santa?”/ “ is Santa real?” – this book helps to answer this difficult question with a lovely story that focuses on Lucas as he asks this question of his mother. Her response is quite heartwarming. The overall message of the story is about not only about the magic of Christmas, but also about the importance of keeping the dream alive and being a ‘Dream-Keeper”. Happy Reading!

Diabolical Sword is the first book in The Charm Collector series by Melissa Erin Jackson. What a wonderful start to a new series this proved to be. I love a great urban fantasy- and this proved to be all that and more. Highly original, intriguing, and imaginative- this story ticked all the boxes for me. Let’s face it though, the author had me at sentient sword! Colour me intrigued!!! Then add a cast of quirky and interesting characters, fantastic world building, magic, crime, mystery, adventure, danger, shifters, sorcerers, drama, humour, action, agendas, and the paranormal- and this book turned out to be quite a fun and exciting story. I highly enjoyed this first instalment and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the series. Happy Reading!

Whatever Tomorrow Brings is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet by Amy Argent.
As this follows on from the first book I highly recommend reading Book One before beginning this second instalment. As with the first book, this is a very angsty, heart-wrenching and emotional read, so having some tissues close by would be a good idea-as you will definitely need them. Tori came into Will’s life right when he thought it was all over and he had nothing left worth fighting for. They never expected to fall in love- but love sometimes comes when we least expect it. Cancer had its grip on him, and he thought his time was up. But with Tori by his side and their love blossoming, he finds the courage and determination to fight his cancer, especially if it will give them a chance of a future together. But things are not going to be easy, that’s for sure, they are going to be challenged like never before and their bond of friendship and love will be put to the test. So, as you can imagine, with such an intense and emotional topic- fighting for your life with cancer- this story really hits hard- so be prepared to have your emotions toyed with as Ms. Argent doesn’t hold back. My emotions got quite a workout. While this story is quite sad and emotionally taxing at times- there is also sweetness to it too. After reading the first book, I really needed to know what happened, so it was a given that I would snap up a copy of this so I could have a front row seat to what would happen next….. and this proved to be a great follow-up to the first instalment, another angsty story with our MC facing his death and his mortality…. it also inspires hope while showing us the power of love.

Strega – Magic: The Spirit Never Dies by Lynne Russell. This book was so good. It’s not a book you can read lightly you really have to think about it and pay attention but that made it much more real to me. Its the story of the women in the Ciofani family who are from Italy and they use magic. I really enjoyed Annie and she was such a strong, independent woman who mad great strides in her life thru this book. Annie came out stronger than ever due to things she had to undergo. The writing in this book made me feel like I was in Italy and made me almost believe I had magical powers! The story has a lot of action and you will be amazed at how fast you turn the pages. Do yourself a favor and read this amazing novel about Italian women and their magical powers!
