A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Shelly Kittell

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a fantastic Christmas read. The author writes a story that lets you feel all the emotions the characters are feeling. The story left me with the warm, fuzzies (it must have been all the gingerbread). You’re going to have to read the story to find out about that. A nice cup of hot chocolate, a warm fuzzy blanket and this book would make for a nice winters read. I loved the sweetness and the adventure of the story. The personality of the characters was such that you could relate to them. Mama just had me missing my grandma. Now get out there and buy this story. You’re going to love it. I would give it more than a 5 if I could, that’s for sure.

This was a very intriguing fantasy story. I loved the twists in the story. What a well-written story. The characters are well-written. The story sucks you in from the beginning and holds you until the end. I can’t tell you much more. You truly have to experience this story. It’s worth the purchase. You’ll love it as much as I did. I would give it more than a 5 if I could.

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Though this is book five, all the books in the series can be read as standalones.

Amber has always hated the holiday season and honestly I can’t say that I blame her. She has. Pretty traumatic past and that really can do a number on you. Giovanni has been through some tough times recently but still brings the magic of the holidays for his daughter. Giovanni invites Amber to spend the holidays with his family. Will things develop between them or will Amber keep to herself?

This was such a good quick read. I was bummed it was over so soon! The characters are great and there’s lots of emotion!

This is a psychological thriller that gave me the creeps. Bring it on. I loved it! A good thriller like it is like finding a great scary movie. The action is just right and written in such a way that you can feel the goosebumps forming on your arms as your reading. The characters are so well-written that they just fit right in to the story perfectly. Excellent tale for those that love thrillers and chills. I love it.

A Cold Creek Christmas: A single dad, small town holiday novella is the fifth book in the Reigning Hearts Book. I won’t go into much detail because it is a quick read and I don’t want to give anything away. I have enjoyed other books in this series and was excited to get my hands on a holiday romance. The main characters Amber and Gio are a great contrast in personalities and feelings towards each other. Amber is a holiday grinch and Gio is starting over as a single dad.
The two are wonderful and had me falling in love with their story. The only downfall of this book is that I was wanting more. I always enjoy reading books from this author and look forward to reading more in the future.

WOW! WOW! WOW!!! This is Stefano and Emiliana’s story. Put together by this amazing author. This being the third book in this series. Just goes to say she has so much more to offer. But! Before you start this one, make sure to read the first two. Here is a Mafia Romance that should not take place. But the heart wants what it wants. I found myself intrigued by this book. I could not turn the pages fast enough. It’s filled with Romance, Suspense, Action and even Mafia politics. Your heart will be broken and healed in one book. The characters are strong and play along with the author’s mind. Emiliana is a strong woman, and nothing can stop her. Stefano knows what he needs to get done. So if I stop here you get no spoilers. I just think you should give this series and this author a go. You won’t be disappointed. Now I have to wait for the next in this series.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds Book 1) by Bree Moore

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds Series. This is a wonderfully written Paranormal/Fantasy that pulled me in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. There was a couple times while reading i got a bit lost but it wasn’t for long. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. I’m a fan already and her style of writing and attention to detail simply wonderful. Her characters are very relatable and fully developed. I could very vividly picture what was going on. If you could have any Magic power what would it be? For me it would be to be invisible, that way I can always know what is going on and so much more. I’m afraid I’m going to accidentally give a spoiler so I’m just going to say this. I highly recommend reading this book its fast paced and packed with action, magic and much more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series .

We start off with the Grinch of Cold Creek Amber. Poor woman had a horrible Christmas childhood experience which caused her to hate the Holidays. Then we have out Christmas Loving Italian who had a divorce and Single dad who is looking for home. The story of these two is absolutely charming for a holiday story. I enjoyed every page and can’t wait to read the other books in this series. Thanks to the author for another great story!

Magic-Price (The Crown of Stones, #1)Magic-Price by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ian Troy is a ‘Shinree’ (witch), whose whole existence is frowned upon. The Shinree’s magic, considered dangerous was shut down by feeding them drugs. Ian was not one of them. The desire to cast was strong within him but he refused until he found an ancient artifact, the Crown of Stones. With a war raging on for a very long time, Ian felt as if magic will solve it. With power emanating from the Crown, Ian gives in and cast a spell to end the war. Unfortunately, all magic comes with a price and the price was steep.

Ten years later, Ian still struggles day to day with what he had done years prior, refusing to acknowledge magic and drowning his sorrows. One day he is visited by what seems to be another Shinree and that day he so long to forgets, seems to be coming back. Addiction once again resurfacing.

This book had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The author was very detail oriented. It was as if I was in the world myself. Pack filled with action, you will not regret this adventure.

This was an amazing book. I couldn’t put it down and finished it a day. The plot and story line of this book was incredible and flowed all the way thou. the way the characters solved the issues and worked them for so amazing, that you couldn’t not want to like them. Lee is an amazing and incredible lead character, she tries to do everything on her own, and to solve her own problems, and doesn’t like to ask for help, which doesn’t always work out for her, and she ends up in some really sticky situations. Magic, demons, death, artifacts, and the FBI is all rolled into one. Loved reading this book so much, and really can’t wait to read more.

Mixed feelings for this one, I was anticipating reading this ever since I finished the first one and that cliffhanger. I like Red and Chery’s relationship and where that was heading and then we had the child thrown in and it felt like a huge chunk of this book fell on about then instead of Red and Cheryl which is what I was hoping. The book was still okay I enjoyed reading it for the most part and the book was brilliantly written.

Not many books keep me awake wantimg to finish but I could not go to bed until I finished the book. Another fantastic installment in this series. The book follows Emiliana and Stefano as they navigate their growing feelings while trying to protect the people they love. I don’t know how this series continues to create such strong emotions with each turn of the page. I found myself growing to love each character more and more. The shock at the end just made the book all that much better. I cannot wait to continue reading the next installment in the series.

This was a heck of an adventure. I felt like I was on a roller coaster going between realms. I often found myself wondering what it would be like to travel between realms like they did to take things. Sounds like a bit of an adrenaline rush. It is an entertaining plot that did a very nice job of grabbing my hand and dragging me into the story. I didn’t want to leave. You just want to keep going to find out what the next page brings. The characters are well written and very relatable. You can empathize with their struggles. I loved the story and hope to read more of this series. Get out there and buy this story too. I really enjoyed this Urban Fantasy story. The author does an amazing job of making fantasy seem like it could be reality. The story is fast paced and gripping from the beginning. The main character Lee, is a strong resilient woman who isn’t afraid to fight for what she wants no matter the danger or the cost.

Lee is a thief. But a thief with magic powers which means she can move around unseen and unheard. As useful as this skill is it takes a toll on her life and wellbeing.
Lee is determined to go back to the source of her power to ask them to remove it to hopefully save her life. She would rather have no powers than the power that is killing her every time she uses it.

But things are now a race against time. Lee needs to put her plan in place, while not letting her crew know her plan to leave. Add to this the increasing threat of an FBI agent who can travel the same way Lee can and the race just gets worse. Lee’s race becomes even more a race against time. Will she end up captured by the FBI or will she end up dead from the magic she sees as a curse?

This was a nice, quick Christmas read. Perfect this this time of year! There is a lot of sweetness mixed in with just the right amount of heat from the main characters. Amber is Cold Creek’s Christmas grinch until she meets Gio, a father to a 6-year-old little girl, Talia, who adores the holidays with her dad and Great Grandma. You do get good backstory of the reason Amber doesn’t enjoy the season and how Gio became a single father. I really enjoyed this story and how the characters start to see things through a new perspective and shows the true meaning of Christmas and the season of giving.

This book was a good read but definitely much darker and twisted than other books I usually read. I was drawn in by the synopsis. The connection between the characters especially Ivy and Aria was interesting for sure. There were some parts that definitely surprised me. I wasn’t expecting the Mattias angle or Gabriele part either. I did have a hard time staying engaged in the story but that could be just because it wasn’t something that I could connect with. Overall, I’m glad I read it but it definitely was different than I was expecting.

Dead Sound (Things Unseen, #1)Dead Sound by Anise Eden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Neve Keane is anxious to return to her job as Psychotherapist at the hospital after being stabbed by a patient. After weeks off work for healing and recovery both mentally and physically, she feels that she’s ready to return to work. She is unprepared when instead of a quiet office, she gets mobbed by a group of people on her first day back. She stands helpless in the hallway as they surround her chanting her name and telling her that they need her to help them stop the Apocalypse. After her recent stabbing, Neve is rattled by this turn of events and not sure how to react. She is still suffering from the side effects of the stabbing and the reaction from this group of people has her reliving the memory of her attack. She’s visibly shaken but does not want to lead on that she is frightened because her coworkers might feel that she is not ready to return to work and may try to make her go home. She does not want to go back home and finds it better to be at work where she can hopefully keep her mind busy and not be so bored.

As it turns out, the leader of the crowd turns out to be one of Neve’s patients, so she is familiar with him. He is also a patient of her friend and co-worker Con. Neither Con nor Neve have seen a violent side to the patient, and both have a good rapport with him. Neve feels it necessary to hear her patient out to get a better understanding of the situation at hand and work towards a possible solution. After explaining his visions to her, Neve agrees to help him against her better judgment. After she hears what he has to say she can’t deny that there must be something more to it. If nothing else, she intends to just find out one way or the other. What Neve does not expect to happen is to find a secret plot that involves government officials that goes all the way up to the White House. Now Neve and Con are fighting for their lives as they attempt to stop the end of the world from happening.

This book was very well written and had a storyline that kept me reading to find out what happened next. It moved at a good pace and had a story that involved crime, corruption, evil and a bit of romance all in one. I was curious how far up the chain things went and who all was involved. Was there anyone Neve and Con could trust? Would anyone believe them when they told them what deadly secrets and sinister plots they had uncovered? Would Neve and Con would be successful or would evil win out in the end?

When I picked up this book, I expected to fall in love with it. I’m not going to lie, it took me some time to really dig into. Once I got through the copious depiction, I fell in love. This novel reminded me of A Game of Thrones. The amount of detail in the characters and world-building really made this book come to life.

I would recommend this book to any fantasy lover and those that crave the thorough detail and explanations. It is not necessarily a quick read until you get to the heart and sole of the action. If you can make it through that, I can assure you that you will want to pick it up and read it again and again and again.

This is the first fantasy book in this series for this author which I enjoyed and can’t wait to see what happens in the second book. This is a new author for me which I enjoy her writing style and her attention to details. I was pulled into the story from the beginning by the creative, unique characters. They kept the story engaging and fast paced. Lee is someone who has been able to not only enter the realm but also influence it without being seen or heard. It becomes a race against time that could leave her arrested or even dead. Every time she uses her magic, a piece of her falls apart. What happens next with her, you will need to read to find out. She is a great, strong character that brought the story life for me. I enjoyed the plot growth as well as the character growth throughout the story. I really enjoyed the adventure Lee and the others along the way took me on. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. This is a story that is well written and the author’s use of details made the story realistic. This is a story about three women back in the 1960s. A story about their experiences, family and redemption. This is an emotional story that will pull at your heart strings throughout the story. The characters are connectable and truly made the story for me. They made you feel what they were as they went through their life. This is a story of inspiration for all women and I really enjoyed it. The growth of the characters throughout the story made the story entertaining to read. This is a fast paced story that is engaging and I highly recommend it.

This novel took me on a rollercoaster of magic ride. You’ve heard of a magic carpet ride, but the thrill is nothing compared to this. I never would have been able to guess the outcome of this book based on the first few chapters. I loved everything about it: The characters, the plot, the world development.

I do have to say, Lee easily became my favorite character. I normally root for the underdogs in the book, which I would have considered Risa or Sam, but Lee was too loveable. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Sam and Risa but there is something special about Lee that I cannot see past. I would not be at all disappointed if the author decided to write a sequel; I would be the first in line for it.
