This is the part two of Reds story and I really enjoyed the second part better then the first one. The main character was well written and I loved his way of thinking he is also strong minded and hell bent on the road. In book one Red finds the love of his life and a 15yr old son. We get to see if this couple can be a couple/family or will they co-parent. There are a few twists and turns in this book that I really enjoyed.
I highly recommend this book but please read book one first.

This book is a great romantic suspense, detective novel. I do love a good romantic suspense story and I really enjoyed this one. I had never previously read any of this author’s work but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a go. There is a book that comes before this in the series but they can be read as a stand-alone. When I read this book I wasn’t aware that there had been a previous book but as this is a whole new story there is no issue with not having read the previous book. The main characters from the previous book, Jayson Donovan and Kylee do make an appearance in this book. I do wonder about the names of these characters – is the author a Neighbours fan? Lol This is the story of Detectives Alexandra (Lexi) Danvers and Xavier Knight and their pursuit of catching their main suspect in a child murder case. I loved both of these characters. They are totally opposite in personality but work so well as a team. I really enjoyed reading their story. The author had me gripped from the very beginning of the story and does an amazing job of keeping you totally enthralled and not wanting to put the book down. The book is filled with a great deal of drama, danger and intrigue and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I will definitely read more of this author’s work in the future as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting. An otherworldly force crashes to earth and infects people with abilities. These abilities had its perks but it comes with a price. There are different abilities. As with everything the government doesn’t like it’s people having more power than it. It supposedly seeks to understand it. But they have ulterior motives.
An morally conscious FBI agent, who follows laws to a T. Goes undercover to infiltrate a crew of these affected people. He has his own reasons for doing so. His target, a woman who doesn’t even want her powers, Lee, is fighting for her life and future. Her ability puts an early death sentence on her head and all she’s looking for is a cure. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has their own personal mission. Can anyone trust those around them? While the characters are navigating personal issues, Lee is contacted and charged with their biggest heist yet. Can she convince her crew to help? Is the payout worth the cost?
The story kept me invested. I finished it pretty quickly. Definitely a page turner. I thought the story was quite creative and original. The characters were enjoyable. You love some of them and you hate others. The only issue I had was that there was a point where an important character kinda disappears. And the other characters seem hardly affected by it at all. I guess it kinda insinuated he was leaving but it felt more like a blowing off steam type of leave rather than a permanent leave. It just didn’t plot well to me. Other than that it was great. I look forward to reading more from this author.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves supernatural and/or fantasy novels.

This book was a lot of fun to read. Lee’s ability to go into the “liminal” realm was different to what I generally come across. There was a lot of action and was not dull. I love a good female lead.

This is a new to me author and I must say she did not disappoint. This story is a quick read. Amber hates Christmas and much prefers Halloween. Hates how commercial it has become and just how over the top it is. Gio is a single dad and LOVES Christmas. A very intriguing mystery, I found myself sucked in at the beginning and pleasantly surprised at how it progressed. The characters were well-written and I found I could relate to a couple of them. The plot was awesome. I love a mystery with plot twists! Everytime you think you have it figured out… Boom! think again. Didn’t see that coming. Great mystery, I’m going to go back and read the previous just because these are new reads to me. The author has a fantastic way of writing that keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know how the story progresses. Take a chance and get out and read this book. I highly recommend it.

I love the Eve Sawyer Series, I actually love anything this author writes. I liked that Eve ended back up at home in this story. I missed Cassie but hoping she returns in future books?
I like the part that Bob played in this book and how he teamed up with Eve as he did. I wondered about the relationship there a few times and Bob’s feelings but very glad their friendship remained the same, so far at least.
This story had me going all different directions. There were a few different moving parts in this book, and the more I tried to figure them out, the more I realized I was wrong. I love how it all ended and one of my favorite characters in the whole book ended up being Randall. I enjoyed his part very much!
This was a quick read and could I suppose be read as a standalone, but you really need the first 2 books to understand why Eve is who she is and why she was pulled into all of this to begin with.

Fantastic! The last instalment in a brilliant series brings Lazarus and Sasha’s story. This was dark and broody meets impulsive and snarky. I really enjoyed their interactions. A roller coaster ride of events filled with high stakes emotions brings this intriguing and suspenseful series to a bittersweet end. The author has done an exceptional job bringing everything together and keeping true to the characterisation throughout the whole series. Highly recommended.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and have loved each one of her books from the first book. Her characters pull me into the story and keep me engaged to the end. They are well written stories where her attention to details make her stories realistic. This book is now different. I loved reading this book. It is a suspenseful story that is entertaining and brings mystery to a new level. Eve is such a great strong character. She is my favorite and makes the story for me. What will happen when you have a missing girl and a boyfriend and a race against time to find them before it is too late. This is a must read and I highly recommend this book and this author.

Lazarus and Sasha are magical together. Lazarus does his best to come across as cold and unfeeling but his facade always crumbles when Sasha is around. She thinks that he hates her but it doesn’t take long for to realize just how wrong she was in her assessment. This book is full of love, loyalty, betrayal, heartbreak and the true meaning of family having nothing to do with blood at all. There is so much action and suspense in this book that I just couldn’t tear myself away. The ending was so sweet and perfect! This is actually the first that I read in this series and now I’m excited to go back and read the others.

Black Canvas by Laura Rossi. Well, that was completely unexpected read- in a really great way! This is a completely mindboggling and gripping psychological thriller that had me ensnared pretty much from the beginning. As I had not read any of this author’s work before, I really wasn’t expecting such a cleverly woven story- so colour me impressed! It was a little slow to get going, but soon took off and I had to strap in for one heck of a mind-bending ride. The story is quite original, beautifully dark, complex, tense, intriguing, unpredictable, and entirely unforgettable. I would love to go into detail here- but the story is so cleverly stitched together that I think you should dive in and let the author, and her twisted tale, surprise you. So, no spoilers from me. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to exploring more from this talented author! Happy reading!

This book started like it was going to be a fast paced adventure novel then kinda slow down to a crawl for a while. However I am glad I stuck with it. The way the author treats magic is so different from other fantasy novels I have read. The world created is definitely worth learning about. Each character is very well detailed and is very involved throughout the whole of the story. I would definitely like to read book two. The only draw back was one of the main characters, Ian, was a bit of a woah is me kinda guy and that doesn’t make for a really great hero. All in all though definitely worth the read.

I want to say kudos to both narrators for the telling of this story. Drummer is the leader and president of his motorcycle gang and one day comes upon a woman who claims one of his members is her dad. Ever since he let her in, she has been a beat to her his drum and him to hers. They have a lot of drama on the gang, family, and relationships as well as other groups that take them on a long journey that will not be forgotten. I truly enjoyed this book and will complete the series!

Being able to see different scenarios from both of their points of view made this book more exciting and even harder to put down. I love love loved King Bastard! Now I know I have to go back and read books 1-5. This was the 1st book I read in the series and though it would’ve been nice to know the backstory going in, it still worked well if it were a standalone novel. Lazarus and Sasha have so much tension and attraction between them that it comes out at the very beginning. The development of those 2 characters as a couple was beautiful, despite the anger, bullheadedness, the need to isolate, and the absolute need to protect. Unfortunately for Sasha, Lazarus’ psychotic deadbeat dad is still out there, and though he’s lost everything he’s still very dangerous. Which is why Lazarus does everything to keep her at a 10 foot pole distance, but his resolve is breaking and he can’t deny how he feels for the good Dr any longer. Until Jamieson Finch is put to justice if it be behind bars or death, Lazarus needs to keep up the cold shoulder appearances to keep her safe. Is that really enough though? Do Sasha and Lazarus finally admit how they feel? What happens with Jamieson Finch? Me personally I need to go learn the backstory of not only Mr. Finch but Lazarus’ other 5 brothers! As for the rest of you, it’s time to read book 6 or start at the beginning! I wish I did but hey book 6 was good and I’ll read it again in succession after reading books 1-5.

When you read this title, you wouldn’t think this is a romantic story. Well let me tell you that this story ended up being truly a suspense of a romance! It kept me in suspense the whole time turning into new surprises each corner. Neve and Cornelius are such great characters with such past stories. I can’t wait to see what’s next! When you start with a psychiatrist who was injured during a session to a potential relationship with a person who had rugby past injuries that ends up working together for the future of all. It’s just crazy good.

this is an extremely well written slow burn romance plus action packed Thriller.
you will be hooked from the first chapter as you get to know these characters and when a very odd presentation of seemingly unconnected people show up in the psych ward you can’t put it down as you have to know.
sink into the possibility of divine intervention, how everyone can be manipulated in one way or another.
this book opens the possibilities in your brain of things that seem Paranormal but are presented in such a way that makes you stop and think about what is going on around you in the real world.
fantastically done can’t wait to read another by this author.

This book is very intriguing and suspenseful! I am glad I picked up this book as this author is new to me. Neve, who works at a local hospital as a therapist returns to work after being stabbed. Things get a little crazy when the patients on the unit start acting strange and they need Neve to help them for what may have come, an apocalypse. Cornelius O’Brien, whom also works for the hospital and with Neve wants nothing to help and is also want to do nothing but protect Neve. As the story unfolds, there are a patient that ends up in a coma and targets on Neve and Cornelius. This story has twists and turns with suspense and a little romance. Very highly recommended.

Practically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Barbara Stegall Not my normal read but a great reminder to take care of ourselves. This was not quite what I expected when I picked the book up. It was very interesting and a good reminder that little things make a difference in every day life. I had heard/read some of these things at other points in my live so this was a great reminder. Magic can be found anywhere you just have to look and this book will point you in the right direction.

Tori is a clinical psychologist at a hospital in Seattle who has taken it upon herself to provide terminal patients company. The patients have no visitors, and Tori feels that nobody should die alone. When her friend Jenny, a nurse for the hospital, approaches her about Will, Tori is caught off guard at his age. At 29 years old, Will has been diagnosed with an infection coupled with an end stage lymphoma. What is even more shocking, is that Will is refusing treatment and has a Do Not Resuscitate document on file.
At first, Tori visits Will, and he refuses to answer any questions except “Can I come back tomorrow?” As days go by, Will admits that he is eagerly awaiting her daily visits. Tori also begins to look forward to seeing him. They soon become friends and on the weekends, Tori brings movies, and they end up growing closer. They become infatuated with one another and Will begins to divulge more of his life with Tori. He begins allowing treatment to get past the infection and looks forward to going home. A day before he will be released to hospice, Will takes a turn for the worse with pneumonia. As he is nearing death, having issues breathing, he tells Tori to leave and not come back. Tori pleads with him to allow the hospital to treat him, but he refuses. As Tori sits at home grieving, she receives a call from Jenny that changes her entire view about Will. What changes? How will she handle his death?
I cannot express my utter emotional response to this book. I look forward to reading the sequel. As Tori fell in love with Will, I felt my heart go out to him. I will admit that it brought tears to my eyes when Will was diagnosed with pneumonia, and I connected with Tori’s pain when he rejected her company. I also struggled with why she just wouldn’t tell him that she loved him too.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It opens up with Neve coming back to work and she is thrown for a loop. The word building and the emotions in this book are powerful. Just when you think that you have it all figured out, the author throws a wrench and everything goes in a different direction and things come at you when you least expect it. The main character has a good and steady growth, and it doesn’t feel like its drawn out. I enjoyed this book and I cant wait to read book 2!

This was a new author for me and I’m excited to see what else she’s written. I absolutely LOVE psychological thrillers and this one is perfection! I read it in one sitting. It has so many twists and turns to keep you on your toes and guessing. This story has a way of pulling you in and not letting you go until the very end. This is definitely one of my favorite books this year!

Wow! Where was this book about 20 years ago? It was not what I was expecting to read, but boy, it was exactly what I NEEDED to read! Making magic out of the little things in life like knowing when too much people things are just too much too handle. I always thought I was alone in that after a few months of spending time with people, I needed a few months squirreled away in my quiet home to recuperate from the time and energy drain. It was so refreshing to learn that others like me have found a way to control the chaos of people and situations and set boundaries. I have just recently learned that saying no is not always a bad thing and sometimes the best thing for me at the time and to read that it is ok to do that, and experience magical living is amazing! This book has given me such insight into who I am and who I can become by listening to myself and living magically within my world. The author has such insight and emotions about her process that I in turn can follow through with my own journey and have faith that it will be perfectly wonderful in the end. Thank you, dear author, for sharing your life, love, and journey. It truly has been inspiring!
