Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade – Review by Char Wahtomy-Alba

Fall to PiecesFall to Pieces by Becky Flade

Lexi Danvers has been having a rough go of things since she lost her husband. Her superiors and fellow detectives feel she is a loose cannon due to her extracurricular activities outside of work. They are trying to find any reason they can to push her out and hired Xavier Knight, a specialist of sorts from Internal Affairs to investigate her. The last thing Xavier expected was to be attracted to his subject and start entertaining the idea of putting down roots of any kind. Lexi didn’t expect to have the walls she worked so hard to build be torn down so easily. While trying to figure the ins and outs of a potential relationship they are on the hunt for a murderer who hunts the innocent. Will they be able to do their respective jobs without jeopardizing not only their careers, but an entire investigation?

There are a few heavy subjects talked about in this book that are trigger warnings. Admittedly I had a bit of trouble getting past the first few pages due to what was happening, but I knew it was coming from the synopsis. Overall though I enjoyed the book from start to finish and would definitely read more books by this author.
