If you are looking for steay stories look no further. This book has a collection of several stories that range in length on chapters. Do you like enemies to lovers or perhaps dad’s best friend? Those are in here and more. Yes the page count is high at over 700, but don’t let that scare you off! Each story has well rounded characters and descriptive enough that you feel like these short chapters are a whole story. Lastly, be prepared to have an answer as to why a book is making you blush. Enjoy!

Finlay has found herself in quite the predicament. When her friend Gabriella calls saying that her younger sister has been taken, Finlay jumps right in to help find her. As an investigative reporter she knows how to blend in to get the information needed. This time however she may have gotten herself in deeper than she could have imagined. The last thing she wants to do is ask Drake for help, but he is the only one that can help her. Drake distrusts journalists but he has a soft spot for Finlay even if he is too proud to admit it. Together these two are on a mission that had layers like an onion. When they think they have things figured out another is uncovered. Getting the truth is important, but how far is too far when your life may be on the line? All of these books have been good and keep you on the edge of your seat.

Stevie Capot has awaken after many, many years. She is taken in by a widower and his son for the next 10 years, but leaves when people start to question why she hasn’t aged at all. It’s better to move on than try to explain something that you don’t have an answer to. Gabriel and his cousin Sebastian have been traveling all over not staying in one place too long. One night Gabriel catches a glimpse of Stevie and he cannot believe how similar she looks to the long gone fae princess, Stephanie. Upon this discovery he immediately returns to his king and is then ordered to find out Stevies true identity. Sebastian was madly in love with Stephanie all those years ago, surly he would know if she is the long lost princess. These cousins, however, are not the only ones looking for Stevie. There is also a bounty hunter seeking her and he has found her location. Will he get to her before all of her memories come back? I enjoyed this story and all the twists and turns. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Danny Anderson made the ultimate sacrifice, in his eyes, by wrecking his father’s car which resulted in his own death. It was all to save the girl he loved from throwing her dreams in the gutter by taking the fall for what he may or may not have done. His father was found deceased of an apparent overdose, but due to an altercation between the two the prior evening it is deemed suspicious. Sadé believes him innocent but Danny can’t be sure due to the loss of memory from the hit his father dealt him. The journey started when he was alive but the true journey started in his afterlife. His mother is his guide through all the lives he lived and together they get a fuller and broader view of everything. I have listened to stories of people that have experienced past lives or seeing the other side after a NDE and it is fascinating to hear what they describe. I’m glad I went outside of my norm to pick up this book. It is definitely worth the read.

Payden Thompson went to Scotland, his homeland, to save his land and title from an illegitimate relative. He went through many hardships and returns home heroic but broken. Clarice Endicott is pretty much done with the boring social scene. Her mother tends to meddle too much for her liking. Her mother is rearing for her to get married and is trying to find her the perfect match. The chance meeting between these two may be just what they both need. This was a good historical romance. I didn’t realize this was part of a series and the final book to boot. You can read this as a standalone, however I want to know about the rest of the clan so I will be reading the others.

Stoddard Skidmore has turned up dead and the culprit has already been caught. Or has he? His father doesn’t think so. St. John Skidmore enlists the help of former detective turned private investigator, Truman North, to find the real killer. Truman gathers as much information as he can from many sources to find out what the victims life was like while alive. We get hints along the way of who the true culprit may be. Many of the people interviewed have secrets so of course they don’t tell everything. There are many perks to living in the high society and Truman is learning that they will do anything to keep their secrets buried. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages. The author did a great job keeping the reader engaged. If you like a good mystery I suggest giving this one a chance.

Thorfinn and the Witch’s Curse Audio Book (The Forerunner Series, Book 1) by Jay Veloso Batista – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Thorfinn’s family was cursed by a witch down three generations. Two generations have succumbed to the curse before Thorfinn’s story began. A young boy of 10 Thorfinn must overcome people plotting to unalive him. His own clansman fear him and he is now an enemy. He must also accept his new fate of being a boy by day and ghost by night. This was a fascinating book. I enjoy history but have never really gotten into Norse culture aside from the Hollywood version. I’m sure the author did a lot of research to describe things so wonderfully. It was like a movie playing in my head as I was able to visualize everything. I can’t wait to see what the next adventure holds in this series.

I have enjoyed the books that I have read so far in this series. I normally try to read a series in order, but somehow I have read every other one. Either way, this was another fantastic book by this author. The twists and turns will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Tim and Willow discover that someone has been tampering with chemotherapy medication. They put their lives at risk to stop whoever is sabotaging something that could harm millions of people. Will they be able to stop the bad guys? This can be read as a standalone but I can guarantee that you will be going back to read the other stories in this series. Hats off to the author for not only another great book but another great series.

I love me a good sports romance. Wyatt and Piper were great together and I enjoyed their characters. Piper was hurt by her long time boyfriend and she doesn’t want to give another guy the chance to hurt her again. When she met Wyatt she wasn’t expecting anything to come of their encounter. A one night stand was all it was supposed to be but now everything is on the line. Will Wyatt win their war of wills and get the girl? Or will Piper be the one that got away?

This was the first time I have read anything by this author and I enjoyed every second. I have always been interested in history and I felt as though I learned some new things. The way the facts of the time were woven into the authors story was done well and it made you feel like you were in that time period. This genre is not something I would normally read, but the synopsis sounded so interesting that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to read it. I will definitely be reading the other books in this series and keep my eye out more books by this author.

Colby and Gabriella had a steamy time together once upon a time. Now they are back in each other’s orbit and they will probably spend time together off and on for many years to come. Her best friend is marrying his best friend and teammate. The push and pull between these two was a bit cliché, however it was still a fun book to read. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and you don’t have to in order to follow this one. If you like fast paced romances with sports wrapped in I suggest giving this one a try.

Who would have ever thought of writing notes to a love interest through fortune cookies? Marcus and Mei Lei are so very different but yet they are the same. Both of them have big dreams and a lot is riding on them. Mei Lei finds herself tied to a man that is a few years older. He has shown her family kindness in their situation, however he may not be what or who he is portraying to the outside world. Marcus has seen his father have disaterous luck in relationships and finds himself making a bet not to get caught up in any girls. That all changes one day when these two have a chance meeting at the one spot they share in common. Marcus wants to honor the bet but he is also finding himself wanting the relationship. This book was definitely a bit outside of what I have been reading lately but it was a nice change up. I like the way the story flowed and how we got to see things from each character POV. Normally I am not a huge fan of that however the authors made that part flow effortlessly and it was not an issue. It started out a bit slow but picked up in no time. I do hope there is a book 2!

Mateo and Janey have been friends for a long time but have only recently come back into each other’s lives. They both lost someone they were close to and ended up taking different paths. Janey ends up being held by the people Mateo works for due to her brother’s idiocy. He has been working on taking these people down from the inside, but now that Janey is there and in danger it makes things harder. There are old feelings there and a lot of things that were left unresolved when Janey left. Will he be able to take these bad guys down and simultaneously keep Janey safe? Will they get a happily ever after? This was a good, fast paced book with plenty of twists and turns. I haven’t read the first couple of books in this series but after reading this one they are definitely on my list.

Murder off Route 82 Audio Book (Eve Sawyer Mystery) by Jane Suen – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

I first read this book about 2 years ago. I enjoyed reading the story at the time and have enjoyed listening to it this time around. The narrator did a good job and I enjoyed the voice she brought to Eve Sawyer. Since it had been a while, listening to the story was like discovering it all over again. I highly recommend the series as a whole.

Check Out Audiobook (The Bobbins Sisters Series) by Debra Parmley – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Nash is finally back from doing his duties as a Marine. He did not, however, come back the same man. Some of his scars are visible but there are many that are not. Betsy Bobbins, the local librarian, was afraid of him and his eyepatch at first but once she got to know him that quickly changed. Her sister has returned and along with her came some trouble she was having a hard time shaking. The only one Betsy could think to call for help was Nash. The narration was alright but I felt the added accent for the character was a bit much. It did make it a little harder for me to concentrate on the story itself. Overall I did enjoy the characters and the storyline.

Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago Series) by Anise Storm – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba

Gabriel and Harper were like two peas in a pod growing up. They had the perfect relationship as teens, or so Gabriel thought. They had many plans of going to the same college, living together, and much more. All those dreams go down the drain though when Harper breaks up with Gabriel and moves on. She blocks his number and all of his social media accounts effectively cutting him off. She thought she was doing a good thing by saving him from her horrible secret, her horrible home life. Now it has been a decade and Harper is back in Chicago to once again save Gabriel. Or so she thinks. How will Gabriel feel about seeing her? He spent all those years hating her but seeing her as a grown woman is making that hard. Will they get their happily ever after? I enjoyed this book a lot. It had the same vibes as her other series, The Titans of Manhatten, and I devoured those books. I’m looking forward to the next installment of this series.

Marcy Alexander has agreed to help her friend with the costumes for a play that she is doing. She ends up not only reading lines for a lady that never showed up to rehearsals, but ends up being cast in that leas role. What exactly has she gotten herself into? A ghost known as Ellen shows up with a mystery for Marcy to solve. Ellen herself was the leading lady of the very play Marcy got sucked into 50 years prior and mysteriously disappeared. Will Marcy be able to solve Ellen’s mystery and help her to rest peacefully? Or will it be her final curtain? This was a good sequel to Divinely Vintage and can be read as a stand alone. It was entertaining and kept me turning the pages.

Selene is down on her luck and finds herself homeless and jobless. She feels as though she has found the perfect job, but it may be too good to be true. Not only does it offer her a place to stay and pay, but it is also located on a tropical island. Could things get any better? There is one rule: masks must be worn at night. Will Selene adhear to these rules or will she end up fired once again? This book was a bit different from the other books I have read by this author. It did however keep me turning the pages and like many others I felt it ended too soon.

Carter, former political figure, now slinging brews in a brewery. He meets the local librarian, Sunny, and her grandfather. There are people out there that would like to ruin what Carter has going, but he wants to stop them before everything is lost. Sunny could be helpful IF she gets on board with his crazy plan. Of course, she gets to use him to make her true love jealous by fake dating him. The only thing is that as they spend more time together his feelings start to become real. Will Sunny reciprocate his feelings or will she leave him behind? This series doesn’t have to be read in order even though the books do intertwine a little. I enjoyed this story and reading about this family. Each story brought something a little different, but the author did a great job bringing the characters to life. They were also very relatable.

It has been a while since her husband passed away and Ashton is still trying to find herself. She has a side to her that rarely, if ever, gets to see the light of day. When she applies for a membership at the club Shatteres Embrace she didn’t expect to see Zachary there. Not only is he her best friends brother but her new boss. He should be off-limits but how can she turn down what he is offering? I enjoyed this book and the characters were likeable. The story flowed fairly well and was easy to read. I look forward to seeing what the next book in the series has to offer.

Miller may be the one to always mess up in his family, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love them. I’m not 100% sure he goes looking for trouble, I think it finds him. When he first meets Maisy she accidentally gets into his car while trying to escape her courthouse wedding. Why is she running? For that answer you will have to read the book and fall in love with the characters as I did. Even if you have ups and downs, at the end of the day family is family whether they are blood or not. It has been fun reading about the Brooks family and I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This is book one and here we have two sides of a coin in the main characters. Kylee Parker is a police officer and works straight down the line not seeing ethnicity, right or wrong, and good guys versus bad guys. She plays fair. Jayson Donovan ended up going down the wrong road gets involved with the wrong people. They knew each other in their school days and Kylee had a huge crush on Jayson. After she arrests him he tries to rekindle their friendship, but it’s not a good look for an officer to date a criminal. Not to mention that Jayson has secrets that someone doesn’t want to get out. It could get both of them hurt, or worse. This has been a great series and I had fun reading it. I read the books out of order but never felt like I missed anything due to a continuing storyline. As always the author did a great job bringing the characters to life.

This series has been great! I’m not wanting it to come to an end anytime soon, but I know that is inevitable. This is book 9 of the series and is Master Botosoni and Catina. He of course is a pureblooded vampire and belongs to the Consulate. She has visions and it is told that she could lead them directly to those that oppose them. This book, like the others, can be read as a stand alone.

I feel I was lucky to get all seven books in one go as opposed to separate. I would have been glad to do so even though I sometimes don’t want to stray away from authors I have read before. With that being said this series was good from start to finish. You don’t have to read these in order necessarily but it does help as the stories deal with the Rocklyn siblings. Are you a fan of second chance romance? Perhaps a forbidden love? Or maybe a secret baby? All of those are in this package along with a few more. These were easy to get lost in and hard to put down so make sure you’re not in the middle of doing something that requires your full or immediate attention.
