Ryan has had his heart broken by his ex-fiancee Vicky. He feels that a camping trip may help to clear his head and heal him up just enough that he can start moving on as a single man. For Tess the journey is one of reflection. She regrets her past behavior and wants to be a better person as well as treat others better. Neither one of them expected to fall in love, especially Ryan. Tess doesn’t feel like she is worthy of his love and is determined to keep her past indiscretions close to her vest. It could make or break their fledgling relationship.

Neither of the main characters, Miguel and Rachel, seem to have luck in the love department. Rachel has been stood up by her latest date at Pier Ninety-Two which Miguel owns. They had met previously when her sisters engagement party was held there. He is getting over a failed relationship and feels that he’s ready to put himself out there again. They hit it off over mushroom ravioli and wine. Could this be the happily ever after they have both been looking for?

Declan and Anne put us through a ringer trying to figure out whether or not they would be together. Anne is his younger sisters friend and he tried his best to steer clear of them. When these two met though there was something about Anne that was different than all the others. Anne doesn’t believe in love so when their relationship goes from platonic to more intimate, she proposes that they have a no strings attached arrangement. It worked until she caught feelings. Left at the alter by Declan she is heartbroken but moves on. Several years later Declan needs to make good on the agreement he made with his father. He has the perfect bride in mind however she is engaged to another. He will stop at nothing to make sure he’s the one exchanging “I do” with Anne but will she take him back? This is the first book I have read by this author but I enjoyed her style. This story flowed nicely and kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had it figured out I was thrown for a loop. I have some books by this author on my TBR list that I will now definitely need to get to.

Storm, Marcus and Barrington have a long and enduring friendship. They have all been friends since they were children and have always done everything together. This book started off strong with a war and you get to see a bit of the personality of the main character. He seems to have everything but he isn’t happy and wants more. He wants a legacy left behind that will have stories be told and songs sung long after he is gone. The gods want him to be happy and fulfilled so they send Enkidu to fill that void. Then, there is the goddess Inanna that wants to rule Gilgamesh’s kingdom. She has plans all set up until Enkidu comes into the picture. Will she get the throne or will Gilgamesh rule with Enkidu by his side? Before picking up this book I had heard of Gilgamesh in name only. All the stories and mythologies have always fascinated me but his story is not one that I have read. After reading this retelling I want nothing more than to read what inspired the author into writing this story.

Welcome back to New Haven where there are plenty of cases to solve. Kaia’s friend Allison is still missing and she’s the only one still looking. She is determined not to let her friend become a cold case. As Kaia starts to find answers as to what is going on she is also threatening to unearth New Havens darkest secrets. Is she ready for what she may uncover? This was a great follow up to The Misery House. The twists and turns keep you glued to the pages as you try to figure out where the story is going. I’m looking forward to book 3.

Lynn has grown up with four overly protective brothers and she’s tired of them trying to rule her life. When pro baseball player Joey Martel wants to get to know her personally she tries to steer clear of him. Fate has other plans and it throws these two together. Maybe Joey will be able to change her mind? It was fun reading about the Brooks family and all the books were enjoyable. I am sad to see this series come to an end.

This is the book that started the series for me just based on the cover. I started with reading book three and will be reading book one after I leave this review. Just from reading the synopsis this almost sounds like a game I once played. Horror, thriller, and fantasy are not my usual genres to read but these books are great. I enjoyed the way the author painted pictures with her words and the details. These books aren’t too long so they can be read in one sitting. They don’t need to be read in order to understand what is happening on the story either.

I haven’t read the first book in this series but I definitely will be. I will admit the cover of the first book caught my eye, however just the title alone did not intrigue me enough. The cover on book two got me interested but I started reading book three first, ha-ha. Either way I enjoyed this story and how the author brought an evil plant to life. I have read another series l by this author and those are so different. I enjoy the detail this author puts into her and how her words paint the pictures. I never thought writing about food of any sort could be so interesting.

While some phobias are weird and we may find them ridiculous they are very real. This took me back to the Scary Stories collection of my childhood but with more details to creep you out. While this book won’t keep me up at night it was still enjoyable. Each story dealt with a different phobia someone was trying to over come and some were relatable. I liked that these were short stories and each just enough details for the reader to get an idea of what was happening without being too drawn out.

Lord Upsur and Commandant Iseul embark on a forbidden relationship after a chance encounter. Both men have a lot to lose but staying away from one another is out of the question. Will their love be able to survive all of the hardships? Even though this wasn’t a very long book it had substance with a well developed plot and characters. I haven’t read any of the other books related to this story but I will be checking them out.

Just like a lot of romances today, TB and Sylvan met online. She was doing some research on a novel she was writing and found TB who helped her out. They kept in touch and over time feelings started to develop even though they had never met in person. Women have been going missing from a local club and the latest is the daughter of a tech mogul. TB and his team have been hired to find her. Although she never stated anything, TB feels that Sylvan is hiding something and may be the kidnappers next target. Being a master at interrogating people he plans to get all the facts. Will being forced to come together may make or break their relationship? This was an action packed and steamy book. I enjoyed the plot and the characters were likeable. I haven’t read the first book but I never felt lost. With that being said this can be read as a standalone. I do plan on reading book one in the series.

Stephanie is part of the Renaissance Society and had been after Heather to go for a quite a while. Heather finally has a weekend off and decides she is ready to take the plunge. She sets out to the site on directions that Stephanie gives her which are vague at best. She comes upon a tavern and decides to ask directions so that she doesn’t further get lost, especially since it will be dark soon. She hears an owl and feels as though it is trying to speak to her but she can’t understand what it’s saying. As Heather is leaving with directions that are clearer, she is stopped by a strange man who gives her the creeps. After several tense minutes the barman saves her from having any further interaction with the gentleman and she gets on her way. Upon arrival she gets herself checked in and makes her way toward the dining hall but needs to make a pitstop at the bathroom. Tiki torches light the way but as she gets closer to her destination and the woods there is no light. She trips and nearly falls into a big hole when she is saved by Sir Roland. Heather, ever grateful, thanks him and allows him to escort her to the dining hall after she has done her business. It turns out that hole she almost fell into was made by rat men. According to what had been learned about these rat men, they track people by scent and Heather has been marked. Will Sir Roland be able to keep her safe? While I did enjoy the book and it was a quick read I was a bit irritated with Heather. She was told more than once that she would need an escort especially at night but she still went off on her own and ended up nearly being kidnapped at least twice. Overall though it was enjoyable.

As Professor Driscoll dons the hat of a sleuth and her developing detective skills, more of her friends are ending up in the same condition. It starts to make her feel like she is in one of the books written by her favorite author. She is determined to find who committed this crime and save her fledgling bookclub. Who knew a toaster fire could be a love match potential? Libby has barely settled in Woodvalley Pines when her toaster spontaneously catches fire. This summons a flock of hot firemen who unfortunately catch her in pink Disney pajamas. She may look like a crazy lady accusing them of keeping toaster safety a secret but firefighter Zach finds her adorable. Seeing as how he has seen her in an embarrassing scene, would she be willing to let him get to know her on a more personal level? This was a feel good, small town romance with great humor. I enjoy romcoms and the laughter they bring. If you need a good laugh I definitely recommend this book.

This story continues from Greetings from Asbury Park and picks up 9 years later. The war is over, Jack and Mariella are married and ready to start their new lives. Even though is pains her, Mariella moves across the ocean to be with her husband in a country where she knows nobody. When she gets a heartbreaking call she returns to Italy, but will she be able to leave her family again? It was hard the first time, but a second time will be devastating. This was a great continuation of Jack and Mariella’s story. Even though this is a series either book can be read as a standalone.

Like many young people back then, our main character, Mariella, has to be mature beyond her years. She meets a nice young GI, Jack, who has very little time left to spend in Italy. He is about to shipped to Japan but they make the most of their time. Before he heads off they exchange addresses and a promise to keep in touch. Will they be able to endure the time and distance? I enjoyed the characters and how this story was written. The characters are very likeable and their story draws you into their world. I’m looking forward to the continuation of Mariella and Jack’s story.

Parker has been living life in the fast lane as a well known motocross racer. He has been living like a rock star if you will. All of the partying has been his way of coping with his PTSD and it hasn’t worked. Even though he thought he was doing everything in his power to be a good partner to Megan and a good father to Lindsey, but it wasn’t enough. Megan has had enough. She packs up Lindsey and all of their belongings and leaves. Parker has finally hit rock bottom and decides that he needs to get his life together. If not for himself then for his little family. Will he be able to face his past and work through his trauma? Will he be able to get Megan to come back to him? This book is a bit different than the other work I have read by this author, but it was good. I came into this series halfway through with this book and feel it can be read as a standalone. I will be going back to read the others so I can get a better feel for the series as well as any recurring characters. Even if you don’t want to read the series as a whole I do recommend this book as it was good on its own.

Rather than go into the family business, Percy has opened his own hardware store a town over. He does well for himself but his mother and sisters worry about him not having someone to take care of him. Mail order brides are all the rage and it may just be what gets him down the aisle. Percy sends out letters and at least two young women want to get to know him better. Clara arrives hoping to wed Percy and start building up the education in the community. Not too long after, Amelia arrives thinking she is going to wed Percy. Who will he choose? This was a fun and quick read. The story flowed nicely and the characters were likeable. I will definitely read more books by this author.

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I have read other books by her, mainly her fantasy book. The Husbands was a quick read with only 126 pages but it didn’t skimp on any details. She still gives us well rounded and well developed characters. Augustine and Dorian met when an assassin makes a mistake. Over a short period of time they developed some intense feelings but they love their wives and know it cannot go any further. Several years later their wives have a chance encounter and become friends, which in turn leads to the men meeting again. Will they admit what they once had or continue on like they never had a meaningful relationship?

Nick and Dani were sweethearts at one time. Now Nick is the bass guitarist for one of the biggest bands on the world, Moonlight Drive. Dani gets the opportunity to join them on the road and she hopes that Nick will recognize her. Imagine the disappointment when he doesn’t recognize her and that he is also a far different person than she once knew. He’s living the lifestyle of a rock star and it isn’t good. These two will have to fight to get back to where they once were. Moonlight Drive was a good book and will take you on a bit of a ride. It’s got a good storyline and well developed characters.

Hailey and Loch are two lost and broken people trying to put themselves together. Hailey lost her parents and ultimately the man she thought was the love of her life when he left her. Now she put all of her efforts into running a B&B where she can make the connections without the attachment. Loch is the lead singer of one of the biggest bands in the world but the recent loss of his sister has made him start to lose his passion. His manager and band mates suggest that he take some time off and get some much needed R&R. When he meets Hailey she is crawling on her floor after a mishap with a vase. Neither of them is looking for love but the sparks and chemistry are undeniable. Will Loch and Hailey be able to heal themselves as well as each other? So, I do love a good rock star romance and this story gives you everything you could want. I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of the band.

If you have been waiting on the back story of Ian Troy, here it is! Ian is part of the army that protects Tells Kingdom. Under order of the queen his time is made unbearable. Everyone is scared of his power and what he could possibly do. One day Queen Aylagar hand picks him and four other men for a special mission deep in enemy territory. She also gives him his own special mission to kill the opposing King to end the war. Will he be successful or has the Queen sent him on a mission designed to fail? Troy is as action packed as its predecessors. Once again this was great story telling.

Stories like this are not what I typically read, however I enjoyed this story. Lily Thompson has lost the only family she had left, her brother. She has been on her own trying to get a family to take her on as a wars so she could join the militia and get her revenge against the red coats. She finally gets the opportunity when she happens upon the Turners. This was a fast paced and enjoyable read. I hope there is possibly a sequel about her life after the war.

Gavin had a hard life growing up. He has an identical twin brother, Devon, who is favored more by their father. Although they are identical, they are opposites in every way. When they are older Devon gets himself involved with the mob and people start dying. Gavin doesn’t want any part of it and flees with his little family to keep them safe. However ot doesn’t matter how far he runs, he can’t outrun his brother or the mob. Gavin vows that he will save his brother from the destructive path he is on, but will he be successful? Devon is diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and that is how he manipulates poor Gavin. I couldn’t imagine having to get away from my sibling for my own well being, it seems unfathomable. I found this book to be a quick read that kept me turning the pages to see what was going to happen next. The characters were well developed and the author wrote this story is such a way that you really feel for the characters, especially the victims. Get ready to go on an emotional ride. I do highly suggest this book, however due to the heavy subject matter talked about being a trigger for some people do read at your own risk.

Irena and several close friends, including her ex-husband Jack, go out on a shipboard celebration. Things seems to be going okay but her ex doesn’t want to follow directions and wear a lifejacket. A rouge wave hits and the two of them are swept overboard. Irena makes it back aboard but her ex doesn’t. No amount of searching has brought about any signs of Jack. She is determined to find her daughters father but she is finding more questions than answers. Will Jack turn up alive or did he perish in those choppy waters? I haven’t read anything by this author before so I was hesitant to try this out. This genre is also not something I would normally choose, but the synopsis drew me in. I’m glad I took the leap because I found a good book that kept me on the edge of the seat.

Five book into this seven part series and the fire keeps on coming. They have more in common than they think. Both have a traumatic past and both are looking for a bad guy. Although Arrow tries several times to get Vivian to give him a chance she continuously shoots him down. She believes that he has given up and moved on, but danger comes knocking at her door. Arrow will do anything and everything in his power to keep her safe. All of these books have been great and can all be read on their own. Each book has a little something unique and will keep you reading to see what happens next. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one!
