Summer’s best friend messed with the wrong crowd and took Summer with her. When Summer makes a run for it, she lands in California, working as a temp. Unfortunately for her, the company is taken over and her picture is splayed over the internet. Her new boss, as of this morning, happens to be her one night stand from last night. When Luc misunderstands what he overhears, he takes her with him to Chicago. There he finds out that he is Mafia royalty.
Opinion
I think this is my favorite mafia series. How McKinley is able to come up with situations that are intriguing yet plausible (at least in the realm of fiction) is beyond me. With each book that I read, I am drawn further into her Mafia Elite world.
This book has it all from not knowing about your parents to enemies to lovers to an unplanned pregnancy. I am not sure that McKinley is going to be able to top this one for me.
