Summer Johansson ran and is in hiding from the New York Mafia. Luc Savino is a business man set to take over one of the five families of the Chicago Mafia. While on a business trip the two have a one night stand. Then find that Luc is Summer’s new boss. Luc thinks Summer may be the one embezzling his money. But, before he can get to the bottom of the issue, he is called back home. His solution is take Summer back with him. Will Luc be able to withstand his attraction to Summer who he believes is a thief? Will he find the real thief? Will Summer’s past catch up to her being so close to New York? Will Summer trust Luc enough to share her past? Will the two be able to overcome all and find their Happy ever after?

While this is the first book of Ms. McKinley’s I have read, I look forward to reading more. I was told this book could be read as a stand alone, and it can be; I would read the series in order as I think it would help in keeping a clear picture of who everyone is. Definitely worth a read!
