The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas – Review by Kerry Carr

The Scent of GardeniasThe Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really eye opening and moving story. Set in time gone by it shows the struggles that a young woman had to go through in order to give herself a better life out of poverty.
The story is so well written that the reader feels transported in time to that era. It feels like you are following Margaret around and living her life as she experiences it.
This story is a beautiful inspiring story filled with emotion that keeps the reader gripped. You experience first hand the pain of losing someone you love to war and the devastation that follows as Margaret trys to rebuild her life in a time when it wasn’t easy for a woman to be strong and independent.
