I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I was looking forward to Bake Off and I wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed reading about Cat again – the author has a wonderful writing style and makes her writing so engaging and fun to read. I loved the recipes sprinkled in again – I think I really felt the family vibe and the fun banter between each other in this book. This was another fun and light hearted read that both young adult readers and older ones will like. There is something for everyone and with the fun way in which it is written you will be flipping the pages to find out what will happen next. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and what an introduction it was! Wow I was hooked from the very start. This book definitely satisfied my enjoyment of paranormal, dark and romance genres! I loved the historical parts to the story too. There really was so much going on in this book that I was completely captivated by what I was reading. I loved the characters Greer and Theron. Greer was a strong heroine and great to read about, she was definitely strong and fierce and I absolutely loved her. Theron is kind of like the bad boy you shouldn’t but can’t help but love. I am really excited to read book 2 in this series!

A Veil of Gods and Kings book 1 by Nicole Bailey is a wonderfully written enemies to lovers’ book about a mortal Prince (Hyacinth or Cyn for short) and a Demigod (Apollo). Apollo has not ascended and took his rightful place of God of the Sun. His Father, Zeus, is not happy and give Apollo an ultimatum, ascend now or go live with Prince Cyn for a year to shadow and learn how to become a ruler. Of course, Cyn and Apollo didn’t get along at first but then slowly things begin to change, and these enemies start to develop other feelings than anger and frustration. This book is full of emotion, drama and love and you will not be able to put it down. I love all the characters that Nicole wrote into the book. This is a great alternative prospective on the Gods.

What a cute story! The story was very interesting and would keep any child invested. As a dog lover myself, I found that even as an adult I enjoyed reading along. Gage, Juliet, and Ten meet when Gage helps Ten with an underground fight. Unfortunately, Ten’s opponent turns out to be someone you don’t want to cross, and all 3 are at risk. In the midst of this, the three are exploring attraction to each other.
There are a lot of hot scenes in this book! The three have some serious chemistry, each with the other, as well as the three together. I really liked how Gage and Juliet met. Their relationship builds quickly, but it doesn’t feel rushed. The story surrounding the romance – the fighting, Mirkle, Bart, etc. is interesting and adds lots of action too. A good, sexy read.
This is the third book in the series, but you don’t have to read the other books to enjoy this one. The characters from the first books make appearances, so if you have read them it is nice to see them again.

First and foremost I love anything to do with magic. I just knew I was going to love this story. It has a little bit of every topic I enjoy reading. Romance, thrills, magic, a dash of action and a sprinkle of mystery. The author does a phenomenal job painting a picture of the world they live in. The characters are beautifully written. I just wish Ember was less of a Damsel in distress and had come into her own a bit more. With that being said I still enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the next installment.

This was such a sweet romance. I couldn’t set this book down once I picked it up. I really enjoyed watching how Kendall’s childhood crush is all grown up and definitely not looking at her as a kid sister of his best friend anymore. She thought that things would have changed now that they’re all grown up but if anything she’s even more attracted to him. While she’s staying with him she decides to go for it and see if she can get him out of her system once and for all. But is a casual relationship going to be enough for either of them? They’re going to have to work around more than a few obstacles if they want to make a serious relationship work. There are so many sweet, steamy moments and more than a few that made me swoon! This is one book that you’re definitely not going to want to miss.

4/5 stars I really enjoyed this book! Kendall always had eyes for Pete but he would never cross the line due to his friendship with her brother, Ryan. Kendall stays with him for a week for work, and things completely change between the two. This book was a good read. My favorite character was Ryan however, lol. I would love to read a book with him as the main character.

This was such a different story from what I have read with other vampire genres, and I loved it! The word building was immaculate and had me glued to my phone as I was reading this book and could not put it down! This story encompasses Greer, a girl who was taken from her home and promised to a man she does not know and Theron, a demon who uses people for his fill of blood. Their story starts to get entangled and became better and better the more that I read. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and it was absolutely amazing! I cannot wait to read the next books in the series and other books!

This is a super fun book that dog lovers of all ages can enjoy. Toby is a really good dog but this pesky neighborhood cat is set on making sure to make Toby look bad. She paws her way into his life and he just can’t resist chasing her through the neighborhood. Then he gets picked up and ends of in a vet’s office were some destruction takes place. He meets his new hu-mom and she loves him but Toby really doesn’t like it when hu-dad goes to work. Toby really is a good dog, it just takes some time for his hu-people to see it!
I recommend this super cute read, especially if you have budding readers!

I really did enjoy this book however I think we could have been given more! Kendall is amazing. Its refreshing to have a strong female character that knows what she wants and goes after it versus being the damsel in distress. Kendall knows where she stands and doesn’t need anyones approval! Pete is everything Kendall can ask for but there’s one problem. She’s the best friends little sister, how does that work?!? Is it worth the risk? Can it really work? Pete doesn’t catch on as fast as we would like him to but if he caught on right away we wouldn’t have a story! I do wish the scenes were a little steamier!

This was a great 5 star read. Kendall is in town for work and Pete opens his home to her. What he doesn’t expect is how grown up Kendall has become and how tempting she is. Kendall has had a crush on Pete since she was really young. Problem is he is her brother’s best friend.
Lets just say that Kendall notices something in Pete and she takes advantage of it. And boy does it really go her way. They agree to a casual thing while she is in town, but can they keep their feelings out of it? What will happen if her brother finds out?
Overall I really enjoyed the book. We have Pete who is a hot as heck baseball player who isn’t looking for commitment and Kendall who finally has the chance to go for what she has wanted for years, loved her braveness and strength. We get some steamy moments. The author pulls you in with her writing, I was done before I knew it. I like that the characters jumped right into things we didn’t have a should we or shouldn’t we for half the book type thing. This is a very good YA fantasy that was enjoyable to read and my first book with a character that was non-binary. There were parts that I had to really piece together and pay attention for sure. There is mystery, adventure and twists along the way as we meet Ruarnon….. assassination attempts are happening and Ruarnon has to take over the kingdom. Mix in some combining of worlds and you really have a good fantasy story with some great character development. Looking forward to book 2!

Poor Toby! Through a series of misadventures that are all the cat’s fault, he gets in such trouble. Stop following the cat! Toby is a sweet dog that makes some not so good choices. I enjoyed this story. It’s happy, fun and gives a cute giggle. I was reading this to my grandson as we were waiting in the ER. It’s a story with potential for great story voices as you read aloud. The characters are so cool. My grandson loved Toby. He kept telling him to stay away from that silly cat. He thought the HuDad should have listened more. There are so many lessons to learn from this story. So much potential in one story. I love these stories to read to my grandchildren. The flow went very smooth. Great book. We are looking forward to more about Tobey.

I do not want to give anything away about the story, but this is an enemy to lover’s story, and well done. The story is gripping and drew me in. I enjoyed the worldbuilding and character development. The story was a quick read and left me wanting more. I look forward to reading more in this series and from this author in the future.

Toby: The (Mostly) True Story of a Former Bad Dog by Stephanie Wilson Peterson. My family loved this book. I read it aloud to my 4 and 9 year old nephews. They both loved it but of course the 9 year old got more out of it. Its the perfect book for beginning readers as my nephew read some of it! Its of course the story of Toby the dog who gets into things. He has a few misadventures with the cat and tends to do things he shouldn’t. The cat did seem to get away with everything and even when poor Toby wasn’t guilty he got blamed! This story helps kids to realize that dogs have feelings too! This is the perfect read aloud book for the whole family. We can’t wait to read another of her books!

This was a great light read full of shenanigans, and lots of humor. Being a huge dog lover and a mom I personally read this book twice, once by myself and once with my daughter. The story was amazing and engaging, I mean how could it not be when its told from the perspective of the dog. This book is great for beginner chapter readers, and will leave you happy and laughing at the very end.

I have personally never read anything by this author but this novel really blew me away. The way that the author writes really pulls the reader in right away, and makes them feel like they are right in the middle of the story. Filled with action, thrills, romance and more this book really has something for everyone. While this is the second installment in this series it can be read as a stand alone all though you will lose some of the back story. So whether your looking for a new series or just a new book then pick this one up today.

Honestly, I don’t know what to say first, because when I started reading this book, I was immediately enthralled. This author brilliantly wove this amazing world with characters that are so relatable! I wanted to know them, interact with them, and see their world. Elodie in particular is an amazingly strong female lead, who has excellent role models both in Pepa and Agathe. Willum’s story made me ache for him, but I truly wanted to meet Sebastian. His and Dion’s friendship was so genuine and I loved it as much as Elodie and Josephine’s sisterly relationship. The relationships within the family and town, the doubt within the characters’ normal lives, and the hope brought by a story were just truly beautiful. It’s a story that gave me Inkheart vibes, so if you liked those stories, I’m sure you’d enjoy this one.

A great story. If I’m being honest it took me a while to get into this book but I’m so glad I kept reading because after a few chapters I couldn’t put it down. The characters are very well written!
