This was such a cute and sweet story that I was laughing and smiling at as I read! I think and know a lot of kiddos would get the same excitement and enjoyment as I did as I read. I love how Toby had to in more than ways than one prove himself against his feline roommate. I found this book had a lot of truth of how Toby was blamed and the cat, well was the innocent one. I also loved how the story seemed to have the moral of truth and honesty, and stand up for what is right. And of course to get along. Wonderful read! Loved it!

WOW! I’m speechless, at first I couldn’t really get into the story but not long into the book I was hooked and invested. LUKAS! I did not see that coming from him, and I couldn’t read fast enough to see what would become of Rowena and Vincenzo. The ending had me a little upset, of course it’s only because it wasn’t the ending I wanted, but it was perfect anyways. I feel like there could be and might be more of an adventure for Rowena to come and I look forward to seeing if this author will expand more. This is not your average vampire story, and that is what makes it all the more perfect. While there was so much evil against them to take over the position of emperor with no good intentions, Rowena, Vincenzo and their friends were looking to make their world peaceful, equal and kind. Definite recommendation!

A sexy, fun read! I really enjoyed Kendall and Pete’s story and seeing a childhood crush turned adult romance.
The author does a wonderful job encapsulating the story and point of view of each of the main characters. I really enjoyed that Pete’s point of view felt more authentic to a man’s point of view in contrast to other romances of read. The story was full of steamy moments, as well as both funny and serious moments rounding out the book very well. This was an enjoyable page-turner that I would highly recommend.

Historical fiction is not my go-to genre but I needed a “break book” in between my usual psychological thrillers. I’m so glad I chose this one! The author does such an amazing job with the story, setting, and depth of characters. Margaret Rose is a strong and likable female lead but so many other female characters in this book are strong as well. As the novel progresses, you can even see the true strength of her mother, even though Margaret wants to live a life different from how she was raised. I truly loved this story and recommend it to anyone who normally reads historical fiction or if you’re looking for a break from your usual genre.
We’ve all heard tales of World War II and a lot of us lost loved ones in that war so I was leery of reading a fictional novel about that time period. While I traditionally love accurate historical details mixed in with my fiction, this subject can be sensitive. However, I saw that the author used her mother’s real life experience during World War II to inspire pieces of this story so I gave it a shot. I am so glad I did. It is beautifully written and offers a perspective we don’t often hear from WWII survivors.. A woman’s perspective. Throughout the trials, tribulations, pain, sorrow, anxiety, grief and even a little joy Margret continues through it all to be strong and grow! The emotional roller coaster in this novel requires many tissues. Definitely worth a read.

Secrets that even her own parents have kept from her about her identity and where she came from. Secrets that they will not divulge for fear of what will happen to them all. Josie is already struggling with her own personal demons as well as growing concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic so this news could not have come at a worst time. Still unsure of who to trust Josie asks the help of her brother to solve the murders and prove her innocence.
The author did an amazing job of keeping the reader hooked and wanting more. I found this book impossible to put down as it took some twists and turns that I never saw coming. The character of Josie was well written and contained many layers. As the story unfolded there were moments that I could not help wondering if Josie really was innocent. Was Josie capable of murder? Did she black out during one of her episodes? There were so many questions that begged to be answered which of course required reading until those questions were answered. I highly recommend this psychological thriller!

Wow!!! That’s all I can say about this book!! Josie is living with her two children in her family’s cabin after leaving her abusive husband. In the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic she is working in a diner trying to provide for her kids when her ex finds her. In addition she is being accused by the FBI of being a serial killer. This book has twists and turns galore!! Is she the killer? I was back and forth until the very end I’m not going to lie. There is also betrayal that I didn’t see coming. I’m giving this book 5 stars because it kept me intrigued until the very and really guessing. The characters were so thought out, down to the details. Definitely worth the read! Would recommend to everyone who likes suspenseful, twisty, whodunnit books!

When I first started reading The Curse of a Faeblood, I wasn’t too sure where it was going. What the author was doing. It took me a few chapters to grasp the story being told. And boy was it a good one. The author definitely sucked me in, I didn’t want to take a break to sleep or go to work.. lol The character development across the two main characters plus some of the supporting characters was interesting to see unfold. Ember, a faeblood, is on the run. Needing to get to the Northern Isles, based on everything her mother told her. Gets caught in a village one day trying to steal a piece of bread. Well she never left despite saying only one night. Jade was so kind taking her in. Allowing her to work off the transgression, but also providing her with food, clothing, shelter, and family. Even amongst all that she knows she’s a danger to her new friends. She knows she needs to move on, but that’s easier said than done. Plus she’s drawn to the one who caught her in the first place. Gavyn, one of the respected leaders in his village. Trains those to fight and stand their own. Contributing to a village that is trying to stay out of the eye of the Red Guard and in turn the Lords of the High Table. At the same time keeping them prepared to ever have to go up against them. Ember stumbles into his life and turns it on its axis. He doesn’t trust her, because she’s a thief. But he can’t look away or get her off his mind. He’s drawn to her like a moth to a light. And despite how cruel his words are towards her he can’t keep her away. Will Ember & Gavyn explore the tension between them? Is Ember’s presence really a threat to the village and the people she’s growing to love? Then there’s the matter of Erik, essentially a trader amongst the mix, or is he? His father is a Lord of the High Table(the Lords all have Faeblood.) intentionally sent to the compound to report back, Erik is on the fence about his responsibilities. He’s not like his father, but he’s spying and reporting back at the same time. Do Gayvn and Xavier learn about the trader in their midst? What are they going to do, when tensions rise with the High Table? Despite my early confusion I will proudly say I haven’t come across a bad book revolving around Fae yet! Though I’m always hesitant when I’m considering reading one. Don’t be me! Don’t hesitate! Just do it! It’ll be worth it!

The Cruiser is a millionaire romance between Morgan de Rohan-Chabot and Vandana Hillman. Morgan is the best yacht architect in the world, but he is a bad boy who “cruises” between women. This reputation doesn’t help him when trying to land the biggest deal in his life to a prince who doesn’t appreciate his lifestyle. Morgan decides to hire a luxury PR specialist, Vandana, to control the situation and enhance his image. What neither expected was the connection they will have. Can two people living completely different lives, going through different difficulties in life work? This was an amazing, spicy, millionaire romance. I completely loved both characters the entire book, the banter was seductive and endearing. I have read a lot of romance lately, and while it is my favorite genre, I find myself getting mad at the behaviors of the characters: too needy; too blind; too cowardly, etc. NOT THIS BOOK. The characters were honest, up front, and not over dramatic. Obviously every story will have a climax and problem, but I loved how it wasn’t over dramatic and didn’t drag on. Definitely left me wanting more!!

The Cruiser had me gripped from the first few pages. This loves some drama and it game me some right away! Vandanas husband confessed to infidelity while he was shooting his last movie (he is a movie star). She, with her PR job goes to Monaco for a client (Morgan). Why not? It’s only 10 days, it won’t be so bad. The only this is that this client is gorgeous, a playboy, and a billionaire. This book was so steamy and such a fast read because you wanted to know what was happening next! Their chemistry is full force! I can’t reveal what happens so you’ll have to read to find out and you won’t be disappointed! Monaco was never somewhere I dreamed of going but this author’s beautiful descriptions have definitely put it on my bucket list! I very much enjoyed this book and I loved the side characters as well! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Taming of the Few is the first book in the Guardians of Phae series by Rowan Dillon (Christy Nicholas). The author has woven a fantastic world in which to set this creative story. It is an urban fantasy with tension, drama, ‘superheros’, adventure, danger, banter, a mysteriousness, and more. While I loved the premise of this new book/series, as well as some of the details and developments- I felt that the story did ‘lag’ in places, and at times got really bogged down by character introductions and ‘information dumps’. There are quite a lot of characters who get introduced- which was a lot to keep track of times. Being the first book in the series, I guess the author was trying to lay the ‘foundations’ to the rest of the series here in the first book- so I am hoping that the rest of the series will flow better and not be weighed down by so many characters and infodumps, as I really am intrigued to see where we go from here. Love the cover!

When I first saw this book I was intrigued. It pulled me in with its pretty Cover and interesting Synopsis and the authors writing was really good so i couldnt put it down. This was a great read! It was enthralling, well written, and also difficult to read in some spots, in regard to prejudices. I was very surprised going into this one, because I honestly just didn’t expect it to be this good. I haven’t read anything from this author before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this sure wasn’t it. I’m VERY appreciative of the pronunciation guide in this book, as some of the words are extremely difficult to pronounce. But overall this was an amazing read and I can’t wait for the sequel!

This is the first book I have read by this author so I came into it not knowing what to expect! Overall, this is a pretty good book but definitely easy to lose the storyline at times because there are so many characters with differing abilities!
We start out meeting Anna who has just been relieved of her teaching position and attacked by an angry mob all because of her growing abilities which she had no control over. After being attacked by an angry mob she flees to Ireland which is touted as a safe haven for the unhidden. There we meet Max who is also an unhidden, war veteran. As the unhidden flock to Ireland they are catalogs based on the unhidden ability they possess. Some have strong abilities like controlling water or air while others are more mundane like changing eye color. While attempting to learn the extent of their abilities the Phae are threatened by an extremist group determined to eliminate the unhidden from the world. From just learning a little more about their abilities now Anna and Max and a team of 4 other unhidden must come together to protect the one place that has given them sanctuary. Can their team of untrained unhidden people defend a country where sanctuary is given? Or will it be too much for these newbies and fall to the extremists?
This book takes an immense amount of concentration to keep all the characters straight along with their abilities. This book does not lack in action though and it does pull you in from the start. It was a well thought out book and the author does a beautiful job describing the scene and players so your mind can draw the image in your head. If you like fantasy this is definitely a good read and I look forward to diving into the second book to continue my discovery of the unhidden and their abilities!

I was excited to pick up this story after hearing friends rave about it. And honestly, I’m so glad that I did. It was a thrilling fantasy with everything you can possibly imagine in between. The author did a fantastic job with her world descriptions. She had me believing I was there. I loved the history that she delved into. I thought it really brought the story to life. I loved all the characters she has in the book. I’m always a fan of a large diverse cast of characters that must work and support one another. This was perfect. I can’t wait to pick up the second book in this series. I highly recommend that you read this story.

This series is about people who end up with gifts and are called the unhidden. During this time, humans worry and are retaliating over this. Most of the unhidden have Irish heritage and would up there to be safe and protected. That’s where the PHAE come in. They try and help train them with their gifts. The people they highlight in this series to help overcome the problems ahead. It was a really good read and can’t wait to continue on!

What an exciting story. As soon as I started reading this book I found myself engaging with the storyline. It caught my attention straight away and just didn’t seem to let up. I loved both the story and the characters in this one. Each added to the other and the way the author worked them both was amazing. As the start of a new series I think the author has done well to create a strong impression. I am already looking forward to Book 2.

Humanity is seeing its next evolution, the Unhidden, it all started when the magnetic poles of the Earth shifted and people discovered new abilities and power flowing through their veins, for some it physically showed but for others it didn’t, but wherever there are differences, there are those who are afraid of it and those who can accept it. As those who experience these changes try and manage them, they struggle to maintain a normal life, an extremist group are growing in popularity with their demands pertaining to the Unhidden and the supposed danger which they present to the rest of humanity, unfortunately, their views are growing in popularity.
Anna Taylor is a swim coach at a local college in the USA, but she is filled with anxiety that someone will see the scales which are starting to develop on her body, one day all her fears come to pass when a student sees her in the pool and reports her to the principal, who terminates her employment, shortly after this, she is ousted from her home by an angry mob, this sends her anxiety to a whole new level until someone steps in to help her. Maximillian Hurley is a Vietnam veteran who lives alone in the Australian Outback with his plane and a smattering of tourists who he flies around giving tours to during the day and his constant companion of a bottle of hard liquor to drink his demons away on a night, that is until a mysterious fire takes it all away from him and someone else steps in with a new direction for his life and his talents.
They have both been recruited by PHAE, the agents who approached them offer them a chance to relocate to Ireland and have the opportunity to help others like them by offering training in the use and development of their talents, so they go to a centre where they meet the rest of their group, however, they are called into action much earlier than planned and as they are separated, Anna and Max team up in Cork and although they tried to disrupt the machinations of the anti-Unhidden group, a bomb shatters the city and they end up trying to save as many as they can while battling their own PTSD and anxiety in the process.
Can Anna and Max overcome their fears and use their powers with the rest of the group to stop their xenophobic opposition, or will it all become too much and they buckle under the pressure? This is an urban fantasy which is full of action and adventure, as individuals come to terms with the changes in their lives while fighting for them at the same time and they will have you fighting right alongside them throughout as you are sucked into this world which is not far afield of life right now.

The story started off great! It’s very interesting learning about the various people and their gifts. But as the story moved along I found myself losing interest in the characters and the story. History and political/religious themes seemed to take over as people seemed to take a backseat. While I loved all the details of the characters I really only felt connected to or cared about Max, Anna and Brendan plus Róisín. They got the most page time and I was always anxious to get back to them to see how they were doing. I appreciate the author not inundating us with names and characters right off the bat. Being too slow to introduce can be an issue too.

As people around the world start discovering they have extra abilities, one place has designated a space for them to seek refuge from growing tensions among those who don’t possess such abilities. Even though some are as minor as the ability to change their eye color, anyone discovered with such abilities is beginning to find themselves ostracized from their peers, coworkers, and even families. PHAE is a safe haven for those who have abilities, and the reader is introduced to characters from around the world with unhidden talents as they arrive at PHAE headquarters in Ireland.
Filled with lore from different cultures, this book takes the reader through a fantasy tale that doesn’t seem so far fetched, as PHAE starts to become the target of international organizations that want those with abilities to be registered and segregated, or worse. Even as those with abilities are still trying to figure out how and why they possess such talents, and the extent of their abilities, they must fight for survival against a myriad of attacks from those who would rather see them eradicated.
I loved the storytelling and the character development in this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series to see how everything unfolds and what other talents emerge.

This is one of the most fascinating stories I have read this year. The premise of the magnetic pole shift causing hidden powers to come out in some people and not others is excellent. I’m a huge X-men fan and I have to say that this story felt a little like I was meeting a new branch. All the powers coming out and the characters made this story fascinating and uniquely entertaining for me. I found that I was sucked in at page 1 and couldn’t put it down until I was done. It had a terrific flow. The plot twists were great and unexpected. I have to say that I’m excited and eagerly awaiting book 2. You need to read this. One of my favorites for this year. New author and now a favorite for me. Loved this book!

This book was not at all what I expected it to be when I read the synopsis but it did not disappoint. There is a percentage of humans who have manifested powers which people are calling them the “Unhidden”. Since there is a higher percentage of the Unhidden manifesting in Ireland, that country is self dubbed as a safe haven for those who have powers.
The author writes from the point of view of each Unhidden who is staying in the same place on a farm. Though we do see the point of views of Anna and Max more often.
Anna is a quiet gym teacher who lives alone and keeps to herself. She has manifested water powers. A student discovered her powers by accident one day so the town ran Anna out. She saw a pamphlet of a place for her kind in Ireland and didn’t think twice about going. She is extremely anxious but with the help of others she starts getting more comfortable in her own skin.
Max, who is a war vet and functioning alcoholic can control the wind. He is a bitter old man who is used to being alone and it shows in how he talks to the others.
The group of Unhidden staying at the farm barely had time to even unpack when they are called to war. Normal humans want to eradicate the Unhidden.
What surprised me was the amount of racism and politics in this book, making this a unique point of view of magical beings. I was intrigued from the beginning of the book to the end and then some. I NEED to read the next installment when available!

Kendall and Pete are on dangerous ground here. She’s Pete’s best friend’s sister and off-limits according to the bro code. She’s always had a crush on him. She wants a romp. Like Vegas, what happens the week she’s at his place, stays there. Oh, can they keep it casual? This was a fun romance that will make you giggle while fanning yourself because there’s a little steam. Oh mamma, he’s a hot pro athlete. Let’s play!! Entertaining and flirty are two words that come to mind to describe this book. I loved Kendall and Pete. They try to remain good but being naughty sounds so much better. The whole tone of the story is just perky and fun. It’s a quick weekend read that fits right in there when you need a quickie to read. Loved it!

One of the best things about this novel, is that it’s story wrapped around a kernel of history/truth! I don’t know much about the actual casket girls, or the ladies who came over from the continent, but it does make you curious about the ladies who did come to the America. I’m sure there definitely was a strong willed lady like Desire, a survivor like Greer, a dreamer/optimist like Edith and finding something voice like Sylvie. The story for these ladies is set in a paranormal/fantasy world where the ladies are met with something not from this world and will change the course as they know it. Nothing is as it seems, and the puzzle pieces come together but will they be able to accept it? You will have to read to it to find out! The authors writing is enjoyable and creates a world that you can submerse your senses into. Read it and enjoy the ride.

I love a good paranormal book filled with vampires. Add in some historical features, and wow! Set during the time of the real Casket girls in New Orleans, Greer, finds herself in a strange area with a man she is supposed to marry? Theron chooses Greer to be his food, but is that all she is going to be? Can they save each other? The twists and turns kept me glued to the page till the end. Waiting impatiently for the next book, please.

Cat has returned in this sequel to Bake Off. It’s a fun read. Cat and her family along with her cousin, Robyn, have come down to the family baker in New Mexico. She gets to me Aunt JoJo and GG. She learns more about the family history of her baking, the ethics of using her gift and get to help with a bakery bake-off between the 3 bakeries in town. She and Robyn find trouble to get into. There is some baking mishaps and adventures. I’m not sure these girls could find any more trouble (eh, maybe they could). It’s a hilarious and family friendly romp through the New Mexico town. The plot is so entertaining. You can’t help but smile. It makes you think the author infuses smiles into her writing. The characters are familiar, and you’ll find yourself rooting for them and yelling at the book when they go the wrong direction. I love the fact that Mom finally admits here mistake and shows that she’s human too. It’s a really good theme with the book. I can’t wait for book 3. An entertaining read for all ages.

This was an easy choice to read for me to read right now. Most definitely an adult version of Greek Mythology, the chemistry between the characters and the story itself made this a quick read for me. It is obvious that mythology is an interest of the authors, her attention to detail on par with Rick Riordan, author of the bestselling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
I loved the twist that she put on the story of Apollo and Zeus, it very much modernized the tales that have been around for centuries. This book was definitely a good intro for me to Apollo’s story, as I am planning to read the series on Apollo by Rick Riordan later this year.
Like I said before, the chemistry between Apollo and Prince Hyacinth makes the book a quick read, but that is the least of it. When the electricity between them is going off, there is a sizzle to the air around you. I’m always a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, but this book is the perfect example as to why everyone should read a story like that.
Needless to say, I am a huge fan of the authors’ writing style, the characters, and the plot line. I was sad the moment that I finished the book, but eagerly await the next one and might read some of her other books in the near future!

I love anything Greek Mythology and this one was so good. I am partial to Hades but this story of Apollo was really good. Usually you get the same story with the Greek Gods but this one was different and refreshing. Everyone deserves to find a chance for love.
