My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Titans of Manhattan are back! This time we are digging deeper into Jonas’s story and life in Victoriously Yours. Book 4 is not my favorite but I still love this series! The author introduces us to the world for cruelty amongst teenagers and how sometimes it can go too far.
Kenzie and Jonas went to high school together and she thought they were everything. Until she found out she was just a “bet” that he fed her the sweet nothings she needed to hear to give over to him everything he wanted. Scarred by that experience making her who she is today, Kenzie is determined to win the opportunity to run her own restaurant. Unfortunately the man who destroyed her life 10 years ago will be her biggest obstacle in succeeding with the task. She implores him into a game of cat and mouse, which just amps up his desires for her.
Jonas has lived with guilt the last 10 years he suppresses. Who would’ve thought that his guilt would be front and center vying for a job at his hotel.
The author’s depiction of the tension between these 2 characters as they dance around each other comes across beautifully. I don’t necessarily agree with everything the characters did but “Hey” that’s part of the journey.
I can only hope for more books about the Titans in the future.

This was definitely darker than the other ones in the series for me. Jonas and Kenzie have such a heartbreaking connection. The woven stories in this series are very complex at times. I did enjoy the set up for Kristopher. It is hard to not go deeper because I do not want to spoil it!

I think this book has to be my favourite in the series so far. There was just something about it that really made me connect to the story. I became lost in the characters, especially Kenzie, and the whole journey they went on.
I loved the history that was between them and how they tried to navigate it all. The story was well developed. The author knew just what was needed at all times. I was hooked right from the start of this book and I couldn’t stop reading until I had finished it. This is a brilliant story that I would highly recommend.

Finally we have a book about Jonas. He is probably the most notorious of all the Titans. He’s a playboy through and through. He never goes back for seconds. He has been this way since high school. After becoming CEO of his grandfather’s company, life has been busy. Opening his new hotel, Jonas decides to hold auditions for the chef of his restaurant. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect one of the contestants to be the woman who changed the course of his life.

Mackenzie Broderick fell for Jonas in high school and her life has never been the same. Ten years later and she is still suffering. Having her own restaurant would definitely change things for the better. If she knew Jonas was the owner though, she never would have applied. Fate threw them together again. Will they reconcile their differences or will they repeat their past mistakes?

This is another amazing book in this series. I can’t even pick a favourite because they are all so good. I was happy to see that there was more depth to Jonas than what we saw in the other books. Now that I’ve learned more about him, I definitely like him better. My heart went out to Mackenzie. She suffered tremendously. The author did a fantastic job of describing her attacks. I don’t suffer from what she does but I could fully feel what she went through. The chemistry between Jonas and Mackenzie was off the charts. I looked forward to reading scenes where they interacted. I highly recommend this book.

The Titans of Manhattan series does not disappoint with this 4th installment. This book is an easy read and a page turner. It takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. The main characters met in high school and a bet led to a series of events that unfolded both good and bad. 10 years later, they see each other again with a job on the line. Can they overcome what happened in high school that changed the trajectory of events for them? Can the hurt ever go away? When the female lead thought she had overcome everything that had transpired just to see the male lead and realize she wasn’t as over things as she thought. This book is really well written and the angst, family issues, torture, secrets and love will have you reading all the way through the night. You want to see what will happen and you become physically and emotionally involved in the progress of the characters. Don’t get me wrong there will be times that you are mad like spitting nails mad but it doesn’t last that long.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read the rest of the books in the Parker Lake set and just like the rest, this book did not disappoint. The author does a great job of continuing the stories of each of the characters meanwhile focusing on the main couple. Karen is quiet and keeps to herself high school math teacher. Karen has one close friend and that is Breckin, on the occasion Karen will venture out to hang out with Breckins group of girlfriends. She needs to stay under the radar because no one knows her story. That is the case until Brody Cooper decides to come back home for a visit. Brody has not been home in a few years because he’s been so busy at work. Broody was not sure how long his boss would extend his visit. Only in town a few days when Broody heads over to Swansons to pick up groceries and he runs into Karen. It was not a good first impression on Broody’s part. Not realizing Brooy was Breckin’s brother Karen rambles to Breckin about the horrible interaction.
I really love this series of books. To watch Karen from book one and then finally get to learn her story is great. It was definitely a treat to watch Broody and Karen’s relationship blossom.

Jonas and Kenzie knew eachother in high school. Kenzie lived a sheltered life being the daughter of a preacher and she was the perfect target for boys and their bets. When Jonas and Kenzie started hanging out and were getting close, Kenzie thought he really liked her until the truth was out. Kenzie was more then embarrassed.
Her life took a turn at that point and the next 10 years or so didnt go exactly as she had hoped.
Now Kenzie is about to go stay at the newest CHG location for a week of competitions and meet n greets with 20 other candidates to see who will get the contract. Kenzie has no idea what CHG stands for or who the CEO is until she gets there and spots the redhead across the room. She can’t handle seeing Jonas Courtland again and wants nothing to do with him. It seems to be a game of cat and mouse with those two. Who will come out on top and what happens when the secrets are exposed. This book had me Feeling So Many different emotions throughout. There was definitely a whole lot of heat in this book. I have loved this series so far and cannot wait for the next book in the series.

This is the 4th book in the Titans of Manhatten series. This book is amazing just like the others in the series. These romance stories are so deep and in depth that you are always left wondering if the couple will or won’t get together. It keeps the story interesting and unpredictable.
The characters are really well written and this book deals with issues such as mental health and abuse in an respectful way.
In this story we follow Jonas and Mackenzie.

Jonas is a Titan. He runs a very successful hospitality owner. Ever though is life looks perfect he has a past he isnt proud of. One thing in particular is a girl who’s heart he broke and who to this day he can’t forget.
Now he is opening his new hotel he needs a chief. Imagine his shock when one of the people who are applying for the job is the 1 person he thought he would never see again.

Mackenzie has had a lot to deal with since her last run in with Jonas. After she left the school she was sent somewhere to deal with her mental health issues. Fast forward and the man who holds her dream job in his hands is the same man that broke her heart and destroyed her.
Will this encounter make the resolve their issues from the past? Will the stress of seeing Jonas again send Mackenzie spiralling down again? Or will they work together this time and both get the dreams then didn’t even realise they wanted?

Another amazing story with another amazing couple.

Once again, this author has truly captivated me with the wonderful series and the book installment full of characters I can’t hep, but love! This one I think is my newest favorite! I felt so much when reading this book and certainly could not get enough! Loved this one and this author for all that they do!

This one really spoke to me for personal reasons. We followed Jonas in this book. And his story. I got a story that I was not expecting. I felt so much for Jonas as I learned about him. As I found such strong relations for him! I really wanted to hug him! Some parts were hard to read, but that’s what made the story what it was. All the emotions that go along with it. Mackenzie was a wonderful character too. She was very intelligent, and career driven but had that compassionate heart which I loved. I loved their story and how the road to what could be…. always is not smooth riding! Loved this one with all my heart!

As I said, this one was a wonderful read, and really brought on such emotions, and I have no regret over that whatsoever. I really enjoyed it and do highly recommend this book/author/series!

This is the third book in this series and I feel like each one gets better and better. This book takes you on an adventure. What happens when you have a ballerina take to pole dancing? You get one of the biggest guys in New York to take notice. What happens from there……a bunch of things. There is steam in this book!! What happens when that beautiful dancing girl is the girl you happen to have a one night stand with? Guys, this book is amazing!! It is a very easy read. You will find that you are constantly turning pages just to see what happens next. I got embarrassed when the characters did. I got angry, sad, flustered. It was awesome. It also has some triggering sequences in it but I feel the author has been respectful of the situations and did their best to portray a difficult situation for anyone to go through. I highly recommend reading this book and the whole series.

I was hooked from beginning to end. I think this is definitely up there with my favourite books from her – I just fell in love with the main characters straight away. They had this raw real feeling to them that made them really relatable – I especially loved Dwarf! I loved the eerie feeling this story had and there were definitely times where the hairs were standing up on my arms and I got goosebumps – this is something I’ve never had from this author before proving that she can write more than just MC novels!

This book is the story about Dwarf & Raven. Dwarf has basically been passed over by many beautiful women when they finally meet his friends. Raven comes out of nowhere and causes Dwarf to lose control of his bike. The two meeting each other is the start of something different by this author. I really enjoyed reading about this MC which is a new group to me. Also love the paranormal things that come up. Overall, I really had a hard time putting the book down so I could enjoy it for more than a day.

In the first Forerunner Saga book, we met the Agneson clan. The story mostly followed the main family focusing mainly on Thorfinn the youngest son, and his uncle Karl. In this, Book 2 of the Forerunner Saga, the story switches amongst the family much more evenly as they have gone in several different directions.
Thorfinn has shipped out with his uncle Karl and is learning about the realm between realms from new sources on his adventures. Agne and Cub have joined the call to war from Guthrum and marched off with the clan’s warriors. Leaving Gurid, Yeru, Mae and the rest of the younger children. They are attacked by the surviving Magnussen’s and driven from the homestead.
There is a lot more adventure in this book, and our characters have grown. We see quite a bit more development of the story and characters and I look forward to the next book as this one ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great read! This novel has that touch of history that played with the notion of what could of happened in the New World for ladies brought over to be brides! This world the author created was enjoyable and exciting! With every turn of the page you could feel the main character Alyssa’s determination and curiosity, Hannah’s no nonsense but loyalty to her friends ,and the angst with the insecurity that Rosie brought to the group of girls on their journey to the wild frontier of Victorian Canada! Life will never be the same with these ladies as they traverse into Run’s End! There is a part that I struggled to see why it was necessary to add in the novel, but it didn’t subtract from the story at all. Either way, the movie just played in my head as I read this book and I would highly recommend you give this book your attention!

This book really brought everything to the table! It was not just lollipops and rainbows! It brought on the suspense like a wrecking ball! There was a lot of suspense and moments where you would not know what would happen next! The intrigue this novel brought, was beyond my expectations!

Remi & Audri were two characters that had more in common than meets the eye at first glance! I was captivated by their story and who they were as people. To have a chance at what was between them, they really needed to risk everything dear to them. And that was hard for them, as is it really worth it to lose everything to try something out that well, has no guarantee of working out? Both characters had a light within them, and their darkness showed as well. I was gripped to the edge of my sear as I read and could not put this one down as the story kept building as quickly as I turned the pages! Loved it!

This for sure is a must-read book and I truly highly recommend it. I will be for sure reading more by this wonderful author, as I was truly held and captivated! Freaking amazing read! Excellent writing!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wow, I totally devoured this book and could not put it down. This was one fantastic romance/suspense story that just when I thought I had it figured out……the twists and turns along with sizzling moments kept coming.

Remington is truly a “mastermind”. He is totally brilliant and really puts up a facade believe he has a dark heart. His upbringing was heartbreaking….but growing up with his best friend Grayson and his sister Audri is what he needed. Years past and Remington takes over a company that Audri works for. I love the connection between them….his need to protect Audri and I love how strong Audri is sticking up for herself in situations that happened while working before Remi and his company took over. Both characters have this sense of a dark past….Remington keeps his distance in any relationship and is all about total business. Audri has this sense of guilt growing up over an unfortunate accident. Slowly Remington and Audri break down each other’s walls……but…..there is so much greed, suspense, lies and page turning twists that put both Remington and Audri in harms way.

Will Remi and Audri be able to get through each of their pasts and stay safe at the same time? Definitely read and find out you will NOT be disappointed.

This story is truly phenomenal!!

This book was next to impossible to put down. A new author for me but definitely hit this one out of the park. This has it all billionaires, murder, mystery, and mayhem of the best kind! I am eagerly looking forward to reading the second book in this series.

The dark, mysterious, but uber brilliant Remington Starke has had to fend for himself from a young age. Seemingly having an absent father, evil stepmother, and pretty worthless step brother. Despite everything he manages to make it on his own and build a successful empire acquiring new businesses and revamping them to make them profitable. One of these acquisitions happens to be where Audri Wu works, his best friend’s little sister whom Starke has always had a soft spot for. As the sparks build between them and the secrets slowly leak out trouble rears its ugly head. Can Audri and Remington stay ahead of the nefarious plans of others or will they and their budding relationship fall victim?

This book has more twists and turns than a roller coaster which kept me on the edge of my seat. Who is the good guy and the bad guy when it seems everyone is in it for their own benefit? This is a beautifully written book that you will love reading if you like billionaire romances with a whole bunch of action thrown in.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was full of detail and intrigue. I absolutely loved that it was a thriller packed with mystery and a surprising connectivity that wrapped it all together nicely. The book centers on Audri – an artist at heart with a traumatic past, and Remi – someone who is part of her past but is closed off to everyone. Ultimately, these two characters bring out each other’s strengths which helps them both grapple with their past.

I really liked the addition of detail surrounding Audri seeing a hypnotherapist to process her trauma. Often, professional care/therapy/mental health topics are skimmed or vaguely alluded to. This book, however, gives the healing journey it’s due. I was happy to see that it was a major part of Audri’s journey.

The romance, the passion, the danger, the mystery – all part of an intriguing read. I am looking forward to the next books in this series. Nadia is a fantastic story teller, weaving in plenty of detail and subplots to keep you guessing until the end!

This was a fun and intriguing story. The Mastermind by Nadia Han contains plenty of action and romance to keep you on the edge of your seat. There are steamy parts but it is in good balance with the rest of the story and does not overtake the book. I love Audri’s quirky and fun personality. It provides a good balance to Remi’s darkness and brooding. These are very well-written and multi-dimensional characters. They are both awesome in their own ways and complement each other beautifully. I’d love to see a continuation of their story. The plot is also well-written and although there is quite a bit going on, it does not get confusing. I loved all the relationships between each of the characters, good and bad. This was a very exciting read!

I really enjoyed this book. There are so many elements to this story and the author does an amazing job with their characters and their backstories. I love the connection between Audri and Remi. Their connection is so strong from growing up together that they know everything about each other or so they think. This books is full of twist and turns and secrets that need to come to life for them to stand a chance together.

Remi grew up with Audri. He was friends with her brother and know that Audri is off limits. After an experience that happened when he was young it had left him seriously affected. Despite that he had made a great and successful life for himself. That doesn’t include being with one woman forever
With his family causing trouble and trying to blackmail him he returns home and meets Audri again. The feelings that she sparks in him is like nothing he felt before but she’s his best friends sister which outs her off limits right?

Audri has got secrets of her own to deal with and work through, and when she meets Remi again he has an effect on her she doesn’t want to admit.

Both of them know what they feel is true and strong but their is many hurdles for them to overcome before they can get their happy ever after.

This was an enjoyable book. The relationship between the characters is complex, but so relatable in a lot of ways. Remington, Remi as he is known to his friends, has had a bit of a rough childhood. He spent a lot of time with the Wu’s and practically saw Audri grow up. He never wanted to admit he had started developing feelings for her when he saw her working on her jewelry one day. Audri has always had a crush on Remi, but never acted on it as she thought he only saw her as a sister. When she started getting weird and semi threatening text messages Remi had his PI look into who was behind the screen. I have to say that in a way he was looking out for her like an older brother would, but when you got a look into his mind with the author’s writing you could tell there was more to his feelings than he let on. Even though Remi didn’t think he was worthy of someone like Audri, she begged to differ. I felt that these characters complimented each other perfectly. Although the you belong to me behavior doesn’t appeal to me, I was glad to see that the female character wasn’t going to let a man push her around and make her feel like she was a possession of any sort. I look forward to reading more books by this author and can’t wait to start the next chapter in this series.

Omg I need more Remington Starke in my life! I loved The Mastermind. The characters were definitely written well!
Scarred by their past both Remington and Audri lived through different scenarios that molded them into who they are today. Where does one even begin?!?
Remington witnessed an organized crime murder when he was 15. A stranger with a scar across his face gave him and his best friends a second chance. He took that chance and hardened himself so no one, and I mean no one could take advantage of him. Being a wealthy businessman he needed to be cut throat to survive and grow.
Audri, blames herself for the fire that killed her father and cat when she was just 8 years old. All she remembers is dropping a candle which made the fire her fault. Causing ptsd fire has been her biggest fear moving through life, minus the fire burning within her. Remington being the only one who can keep the fire going. Even when she was a teen.
How do two people navigate obstacles that are more tied together than they realize?
How do two people who are attracted to each other avoid that attraction?
Why does Audri have to be Remington’s best friend’s little sister?
Now is the time to jump into the world of Providence RI and the annual Waterfire Festival. You will grow to love these characters and their supporting counterparts. I look forward to reading their stories later on in this series.

The Mastermind : A Brother’s Best Friend Romance (WaterFyre Rising #1) by Nadia Han

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The Mastermind is a fantastic book. It’s the first book in the WaterFyre Rising Series. It will leave you wanting more.

Audri works for a big company that is being sold. She runs into her brother’s best friend while on her way to HR to file a complaint. Then she keeps seeing him everywhere she goes. He even shows up to her apartment. The quote I chose for Audri is: “A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right? I don’t trust that family. They knew I had issues with Lawrence for a while and did nothing. If things don’t stop . . . I don’t know. I’ll resign and take them to court, but I hope it doesn’t come to that. I don’t need more stress.”

Remi isn’t one to settle down. That’s until he sees Audri again. She’s not the teen he remembers, but the beautiful woman he wants. He doesn’t get attached, but that might change for Audri. The quote I chose for Remi is: “Seems like the a**hole is at it again, using a different number. Most likely, it’s a burner phone. I have my guy looking into it.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.
