Antipodes (Antipodes Series Book 1) Review by Jennifer Ramos

Antipodes (Antipodes, #1)Antipodes by T.S. Simons
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the first book of this new series, this dystopian novel takes this close to our own reality of dealing with an oncoming pandemic situation with diseased waters that is slowly circulating the world. As more people and places are being infected, a task force starts to recruit strong, healthy, intelligent young individuals in order to start isolated pods to help cultivate an essence of a possible, thriving future for planet Earth.
As this global threat takes hold, Cam, a young college student, has been one of the individuals selected for new pods in the efforts of creating a new community. With his agricultural expertise and working together with other gifted individuals they learn to create their own new world as the world they always knew starts disappearing. Driven away from his family and his outside life, he tries to learn to adapt into this new life, his emotions get the best of him as he is homesick and focuses on his work in sustaining his new environment. Luckily as he learns to let his guard down, he is able to form friendships and other connections that help him survive just as the others are eager to do in their new developing pod. This was such an entertaining read and eager to find out what will happen next in the series.
