My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really interesting and gripping medieval romance. I love history and this step into the past was a really good read. The author does an amazing job with the research and the information about the 15th Century and how the world was in that time really bring history to life.
This book is a really interesting insight into the lives of people of that time, and how the War Of the Roses affected everyone not just the people fighting in the war.
Isabel’s is a knights daughter and of marrying age. When her father set her marriage up, she is apprehensive about who her husband will be and what he will be like. What she doesn’t expect is that she will be married off to  Sir William who is the enemy of her people. Why would her father agree to this union? Does he hope it will bring both parties together? How will Isabel cope trying to figure out her place in the world and how to do her role as wife to the enemy.

This story is a really interesting romance and shows what it would be like to be a young woman in that time period. Nothing is as it seems which makes this story really captivating.
