The Secret Cure: A Gripping Psychological Thriller with a Twist by JD Spero. I LOVED this book. Its my favorite genre and I really love this author so I knew I was going to like it but I LOVED it and read it in one sitting. Its the story of Rosalie who is a former dancer but has suddenly become paralyzed and bed ridden. She is devastated and instead of her husband being there for her he pulls away and even betrays her. He finds her super hard to be around because she is struggling and not herself but when she finds out he cheated on her she is even more unbearable. Rosalie had always been able to rely on her husband and after him rescuing her from her home life she thought he would always be there for her but instead he has turned on her. She becomes more and more determined to get revenge. She begins to make a plan. Will she be able to pull it off. If you love thrillers do yourself a favor and read this amazing book!

This book tells the story of three college students who are friends embarking on the edge of independence. As a 30 something this book really hit home on how I viewed myself and my friends in our twenties. These three friends are navigating college together and the author does a great job illustrating college life, their love lives, parties, etc. However what I believe the author does best is illustrate how relationships can change over time. It shows how, with startling accuracy, how simple it is for women (and men) to fall into an abusive, controlling relationship. It also does an excellent job showing what the friends of those in these relationships go through. I will admit, the story hit home for me in many ways. The Colors of Friendship is the first in a trilogy and I cannot wait to read the second book. Because as we all know, the decisions we make have lasting impacts on the people around us. I can only hope that the second book continues to explore these friendships and their relationships with the same level of depth that was featured in this book!

Enchanted in Time by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This was such a good read. Its a paranormal, friendship, sad story that once you start you won’t want to put down. Claudette Grayson is a 90 something year old author who needs a caregiver, Roxanne Ferris is dealing with a horrible tragedy and needs to keep her mind busy so she takes the job. They quickly bond over books and other things in their lives. Their friendship blossoms and thinks are going smoothly until Roxanne starts seeing things, like a character from a book she and Claudette discussed she starts to think she is truly losing her mind. The house and Claudette have more going on than meets the eye and Roxanne will either lose what little mind she has left or figure out what is going on. This is truly a beautiful story of friendship, tragedy, loss and love. It will keep you flipping pages til the very end!

I usually avoid dystopian reads because it scares me and makes me think of things that very well may become a reality , I know I’m just strange 🙃😉
I could resist this though and I think it lit if it had to do with the cover art as well as what’s happened In in the world the last 2 and a bit years and with Covid and the devastation it caused , I lost a very dear friend to it so some of the things in this read really pulled at my heart strings …..
Expect the unexpected that’s all I want to say ….
I just loved the characters Cam and Freya but Cam holds a very special place in my heart for so many different reason but do yourself a favour and get to know them yourself 🙃

This is the 3rd book in the Amberwood Hall Ballet School series. This is a really fun series for young readers. It is a beautiful mix of a story that includes themes that young readers relate to. This is a fun story involving friendships, both paranormal and real and the problems that can occur.
We are back with Lauren and her friends at Ballet School. When her friend Katie decides to start a wall for gossip it seems like a good idea. Until rumours start about the strange things going on at the school. When one student inparticular decides he’s going to get to the bottom of it Lauren becomes concerned for her ghost friends Grace and Rodney. In the lead up to the school production the rumours start to turn more sinister in nature and starts to cause rifts between the friends. Can Lauren find out who is causing the rumours before it destroys her friendships?

With all the gossip and lack of privacy, wanting to have a private relationship is to be expected. Eric, the small-town mayor of Mustang Prairie, is a private person who sticks to himself and follows the rules, being a role model for the people in his town. Can Kiki and Eric overcome all the obstacles to build a relationship?
This was my first time reading a novel written by N.D. Jackson. Jackson is awesome at introducing a character, teaching you about all their flaws, and then turning them into someone amazing. Her characters are likeable, full of love and are relatable. There were many secondary characters introduced in this novel from her other novels in the series, however Jackson gives you enough background on each one, making it easy enough to follow along without reading the previous installments.
Let It Be Love was a fast paced, makes your heart flutter, page turner. I couldn’t put it down, reading it in its entirety in just a few hours. This is one you won’t want to miss. I will definitely add the remained of this series to my TBR pile.

Destiny has had her fair share of broken relationships and has her heart caged to not get hurt again. Although as a writer she is in a slump and needs to help the creative ideas flow, but they are just not there, when her best friend takes her out for there traditional birthday celebrations, Destiny is strangely drawn to Nico, but will her playboy ways stop her from following the attraction they both feel.
Niccolo has rose to fame in the movie world but is determined to break America, the Italian playboy has swept the news, but he has always just wanted to settle down and have a family. Although being burnt terrible in his past, he has always shut off his feelings and the hook ups he has now are to satisfy his sexual needs rather than emotional, until he met Destiny.
This is a great book, well developed and written with emotion and depth of the characters which added to the overall experience of the story.
I loved the chemistry between the two characters as well and it was great to be a part of the getting to know side of the relationship rather than gun hoe and in bed with each other within the first couple of chapters. They both have had monumental heartbreak and try to move forward from but the way the story weaved within there doubts and concerns added depth to the story and draws you into the characters even more.
If you are looking for a raunchy, sex driven book then this may not be the book for you, but if you want to get to know the characters and walk through a journey of discovery and rediscover trust and loyalty within a relationship then this story is for you 100%, you will not be disappointed at all. I can’t wait to read Cali’s story in the next book in this series.

The Vilification of Aqua Marine is the first book in a new superhero adventure series by the brilliant Megan Mackie. This is definitely another feather in Ms. Mackie’s cap and is a testament to what a talent and versatile writer she is. She’s is such a skilled writer that I think she could write a shopping list and make it exciting reading! This journey of self-discovery is a fun superhero fantasy adventure with plenty of action, imagination, danger, drama, and enough twists to keep me well and truly hooked. Rhainnon (aka Aqua Marine) has always dreamed of being a superhero and stamping her mark on the world. But in her opinion, her ‘superpowers’ are a bit of a fizz. She doesn’t think she has what it takes, even though she should be quite powerful, what with one parent being a superhero (dad) and the other a supervillain (mum). Add in an evil nemesis, a surprising discovery, and a cleverly-woven caper… and this story really takes off! A completely engrossing and fun start to a fantastic new series…. I really can’t wait to join Aqua Marine (and co) on another entertaining adventure! Highly recommended! Happy Reading!

The Detail by Dana Wayne was a surprising find, in a great way. She might have been a new-to-me author, but now that I have a taste for her stories, that is something I plan to remedy immediately. Ms. Wayne weaves a brilliant romantic suspense here, with all the ingredients that I look for in an engrossing story. Detective Jessica Foster has been on a manhunt for a serial killer that has had her tied up in knots for far too long. When he is finally captured, she and her partner end up on cross-country journey to bring him back home so justice can be served. But things don’t quite go according to plan. With a deranged killer hell bent on revenge, secret feelings for her partner, family problems, and several crafty twists add to the intensity. Let the cat and mouse games begin! Shake Down is the first book in the First Coast Thriller series by Armand Rosamilia. As this is my first foray into Mr. Rosamilia’s work, I was unsure of what to expect- but I love a great crime thriller, and as I am a bit of a book addict, I devour my way through dozens of books a month and so I am always looking for more authors to add to my TBR list- so one-click I did and plunged into the adventure. Clayton Conway was forced off the police force due to his own doing. Mistakes that left him with little choice but to go into the repo game- recovering cars and boats to make ends meet. But when a powerboat belonging to a notorious cartel comes up for repo, things take a dangerous turn. What happens next? You will need to read all the intriguing details for yourself! I will definitely be joining Clayton for more adventures in the future. As well as keeping a lookout for anything else Mr. Rosamilia produces. Amber Waves of Grace by Jessica Berg is a clean contemporary romance full of emotion, drama, faith, Christian values, jealousy, revenge, second chances, family, struggles, finding love unexpectedly, and discovering your true purpose. Corrie has returned to her family farm to help out after her father is injured in an accident. With a bumper crop to harvest she will need plenty of help. But with little choice, she is forced to take on her old boyfriend’s older brother, Aaron, to help out. Things take a complicated turn when feelings surface- as well as other obstacles that emerge along the way that will test her like nothing ever before. This is a sweet, simple, and clean story with characters who proved to be quite endearing. Happy Reading!

Triad Resumption, Part Two is the sixth book in the Grimm Wolves MC series by D.M Earl. After the events in the previous book, I really couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and to finally have the second part to the story. What we started in A Tormented Man’s Soul held me in its grip and played with my emotions- so when this second part to the story landed on my Kindle, I put aside everything else and jumped right in. Chains is the enforcer for the Grimm Wolves, a tormented man, and after everything he has been through his fight still isn’t over yet. He will need to face his demons, deal with the past, and uncover the enemy before he can embrace his future. Let the action begin! As this is the second part to the story we started in A Tormented Man’s Soul, you will need to read that book before starting on this one. I also really recommend reading the rest of the series too, as there are recurring characters, other pertinent information, backstory, and important details contained in those 5 books that will help you to better appreciate this instalment. If you love intriguing MC romance with an original spin- paranormal romantic suspense with plenty of emotion, drama, danger, brotherhood, bonds, tension, banter, and thrills- then this is definitely the story/series for you. Murder In the Lightning Room brings us something different by the talented A.D. Brazeau. I have loved Ms. Brazeau’s other books, so there was never any doubt that I would snap up a copy of this to explore. It proved to be a very intriguing and engrossing YA historical mystery that incorporates the world of Nicola Tesla- as well as theft, murder, secrets, and so much more. Cora Croft is a 17 year-old school student with a nose for mystery. She is pulled into the mystery and sets about helping Tesla uncover the strange affairs. But with danger lurking things become complicated. What happens makes for an exciting read. I hope this is the start of a new series with Cora as she investigates various other mysteries. We will have to wait and see. Looking forward to whatever Ms. Brazeau has in store for us next? Happy Reading!

The Cool Thing by Robert Rife is a bit of a madcap fantasy, with plenty of dark humour, adventure, action, danger, suspense, emotion, drama, surprising developments, imagination, all while packing loads of originality. This is the first book that I have read by Mr. Rife, and if this story is anything to go by, it certainly won’t be my last. It reminded me a bit of Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett’s stories. A zany, comical, madcap fantasy that sweeps you up in all the action, shakes you up a bit, and doesn’t let you go until you have read every crazy, cool word. Well worth the read!

This book was wonderfully written! The setting was described so eloquently that I could see in my head what the characters were seeing. The distinct personalities of each of the characters was amusing because I could hear the tone that they would have been speaking in, and I truly appreciated the level of sarcasm some of them used. The storyline fascinated me, using an event the whole world is somewhat familiar with, and taking the main character – Cam – on a journey to find himself, and more. Cam himself was so fabulously written, and I could see myself becoming friends with him. The way he faced each obstacle he faced, even struggling with his anxiety was amazing. I can’t wait to read more about his journey and how it continues!

A Quirk of Destiny is the first book in the Apocalyptic Trilogy by Catherine Greenall. This is a though-provoking sci-fi thriller with a dystopian-esque scenario that incorporates an outbreak which causes a zombie(like) apocalypse, bringing action, danger, violence, deadly illness, government conspiracies and cover-ups, politics, agendas, paranormally strong zombies, environmental messages, Gm vs organic food debate, pro-veganism ideals, and plenty of dramatic developments. With everything that is happening in the world today, I couldn’t help but think that this scenario could very-well come to pass. Which made this book a little more disturbing than it may otherwise have been. It certainly made me sit up and take notice. Giving plenty to ponder over as the story unfolded. Catherine Greenall’s story certainly packs a punch what with her dynamic, detailed, and descriptive storytelling allowing her to paint a truly believable and dramatic picture. When a scientist, Callum, raises concerns about the testing and regulation of food production, his warnings go unheeded and are instead supressed. But when a deadly illness spreads across the world Callum can’t help but step up and try to help. But he is in for more shocks as mutants with paranormal abilities begin attacking. With danger, violence, politics, major corruption, government conspiracies, and evil forces- what can Callum do in the face of such overwhelming odds? And what does that mean for the fate of humanity? If you want the answers to those questions, you will have to read all the dramatic details for yourself. If you love zombie apocalypse stories with an original spin, environmental issues and other messages, believability, danger, and plenty of action- then this is definitely the book/series for you. ….And as this is the first book in a trilogy, the story is set to continue in Book #2. Bella and Levi are like oil and water; never to mix yet there is a spark that ignites between the two and the longer they are together the more it grows. When everything starts to unravel, and the evil finds them, what will happen when secrets are revealed?
This is a sweet story about trust and love. Levi and Bella make a cute couple. There is much more to each of them than what they show the world. As the two begin to see each other’s true selves’ emotions come into play. The two work well together and it was nice to see how Bella understands Levi and what he is going through. Alongside their relationship we also got to see the family connections and the closeness of the brothers and just what they will do for each other. This story has some nice character and plot development. The closeness and the banter of the brothers adds to the story and has me interested in seeing what comes next for this family.

I enjoyed this YA novel and where it took me. It was not what I expected when I started, but I loved where it took me as it ended. Its fast paced, suspenseful, a touch of romance, and definitely dramatic. Reece was a great character and easily to relate to. He was much more than what he seemed to be. Growing into his own and faced with many hard decisions he had to choose his path wisely. He wanted no ones sacrifice or any lives to be lost in vain. There were many great elements to this book and its a guaranteed once you begin you will not stop until the end.

Every book in this series gets better each time. I enjoy reading these books with my daughters because its bright and vivid pictures but also great lessons. Each story holds a certain value to it that you do not forget. Trezzie was great fun in this story and her life for under valued treasure presented big life lessons. The science and educational aspect was just a big bonus!

When Lady Everett learned of her daughter’s upcoming marriage to Sir William, it was her duty to teach Isabel how to be a proper wife. Also, most of the lessons could not be taught but had to be learned firsthand. Although at first Isabel was fearful of marrying the enemy, she quickly is shown that she might have judged her new husband too quickly. The marriage, their alliance, and their bond as husband and wife become tested. But Lady Ward takes her mother’s wedding advice to heart, “Being a woman does have its benefits. You sit and observe, unnoticed by others.” These words will save her life and allow her information to protect her marriage. This was a great book. It allowed a look into the way life was for a knight and his wife in England in 1484. I can’t wait to read more from the author.

I love these stories with their mixture of magic and science. What a great way to teach the kids who maybe don’t really enjoy science! This book is beautifully illustrated and easy read. I was wondering myself why Fig couldn’t see Tressie. The question was answered at the end of the book on an informative page which talks about magnifying glasses a little more. Looking forward to more of Tressie, Fig, and Maia’s experiences.

Will Rosie get her revenge, or will Vincent get what he’s had planned? This story was amazing! It really made you think about certain situations. The way the other wrote was wonderful, it was interesting to read the story through each of the main characters perspective. I recommend this book if you’re looking for something that makes you think, and guess what you know about someone.

This was my first book by this author, but I look forward to reading other books after this one. This adult novel features a strong female character lead, but I also appreciated the other characters. I thought the story was well-developed and exciting. It is definitely a page-turner and an easy read that is perfect for summer relaxation. I had a hard time putting it down once I started it.

This was a really good read! Sometimes the language felt off, almost like it didn’t make sense, but it was pretty easy for me to figure out regardless and still be able to enjoy the story. This story is a fictional historical romance, and it’s a very quick paced one at that. I wasn’t sure I would I like it as much as I ended up liking it when I started but I’m glad I continued! The characters grabbed and eventually won me over. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!

Julia’s depression resulting from the events in the previous books is so very palpable entering the 3rd installment of this series. Her sanity is questioned and she has many demons to battle to win back the trust of those closest to her. There were many unanswered questions that this book addressed in such a beautiful way. This author’s writing draws the reader into her world with her characters. I was thrilled with this book and am anxiously awaiting jumping into the next one.

A beautiful story of a pop star and her boyfriend as they work on their relationship through daily life and the crazy things that happen along the way. This is the fifth book in the Mustang Prairie Series and although I didn’t read the earlier books in the series, I was absolutely captivated by Erik and Kiki’s relationship and how they supported each other with open communication. They have great friends who speak their minds and support one another when the going gets tough. Mustang Prairie is a small city but seems to be full of love, support, and understanding. What a refreshing look on finding not only your soulmate but an extended family made up of great friends! I can’t wait to read the earlier books and learn more about all of the characters living in Mustang Prairie!
