This is the first book in the Meraki Series. This is the first book that I have read from this author and let me tell you I was not disappointed. I feel in love with this book from the very beginning and I was not able to put it down until I had finished the book. The plot and the characters were wonderfully written that I was able to see and feel everything the characters were. I’m excited to see what this author does with the rest of the series

This book is amazing and recommend for anyone who loves mystery books. I was not able to put the book down unless I had finished it from the very beginning to the last word on the last page of the book. With her life in danger, Bella (aka Beccy) is forced into protection. That protection comes in the form of Levi. Beccy is to live with his family (he is part of triplets), clean and be a nanny to his recently orphaned little sister. What she didn’t sign up for is Levi being so rude and standoffish. He however, is dealing with PTSD and needs some relief. Opinion This book brought me out of a reading slump. I had to force myself to finish my last couple of books but this one had me racing to the finish line. The angst between Levi and Beccy was a sweet torture to read. Even better is that this is the beginning of a brand new series, one I intend to see through to the end.

I couldn’t wait to continue reading this book, and it was a sorrowful moment once the last page ended. From the moment you start on the first page, you’re thrown into a beautiful yet dangerous world, extremely vivid to the reader. Leo’s love and need to protect his family, even as a middle child, screams loudly to the reader. This plot is one of my new favorites, and I’m adding this author to my watch list! Gotta keep an eye on her future books!

This is the story of Seth and Jess. I could not put this book down, I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning. I loved that this book had it all, love, chemistry, suspense and intrigue. I thought both the charactors had so much depth and layers that I wanted this story to continue.

Between Darkness and Light is Book 3 in the War of Destiny Series. Julia has been shunned by her Ka-tet since betraying them and aiding Valentino, King of the Vampires, in his efforts to destroy them. Her betrayal not only tore the Ka-tet apart but drove Mathew from the group. Julia feels extreme remorse over her betrayal and is attempting to repair her relationships with the Ka-tet but none of them, nor any vampire in the Resistance, trust her. With her already tenuous relationships with the Ka-tet Julia cannot bring herself to confide in them that the voices in her head told her to do it. They already think she is crazy and telling them that she hears voices and sees people that are not there will only cause more conflict.
When the Resistance Leader, Samuel, suddenly disappears Julia is forced to enlist Mathew’s help to find him. Mathew has created a new life for himself, so Julia’s sudden arrival is unwelcomed, but he reluctantly helps because of his friendship with Samuel. Before long, Julia and Mathew realize that there is something far more sinister at work and they must work together before it destroys them.
The author did an amazing job of building up the story from the second book. I loved reading to see how Julia dealt with the aftermath of her betrayal and what would become of the Ka-tet. I devoured the book as I read on to see what would become of Julia’s visions and the voices she heard. Was she really losing her grip on reality? Samuel was devastated by Julia’s betrayal, and it was destroying him. Samuel’s emotions were so real and raw that my heart ached for him, nearly bringing me to tears. How could he possibly ever forgive her when she threw him away so easily? This book was sensational, and a must read! I highly recommend!

I continue to be surprised by this series it is truly fabulous. I recommend reading this series in order for sure to get the backstory and book #3 picks up where book #2 ends.
There is so many emotions when in this story….just gut punching sadness. Julia’s betrayal….there is definite unrest and anger..people lost their lives. When someone comes up missing, Julia must dig deep and get help from Matthew..but it is not easy to ask for help especially due to her betrayal. As the pieces begin to unravel….Julia and Matthew realize there is something more dark happening.
This author’s does such a fantastic job in the storytelling of this series. This book really punches so much emotion and phenomenal word building….I cannot want to see what is more in store in this series.

In the third book of the series, Julia is dealing with the repercussions of her choices. She is worried that she is insane, as she deals with issues that no one else can see. She has lost all the trust her friends had in her. When one of her group members goes missing, her former friend must put a little trust into her to find him. The Resistance is close to shambles. Will they find their friend and fix what went wrong, or will the darkness take over them all? What a great book! Theresa Van Spankeren is a wonderful writer. She really makes you feel as if you are right there with the characters of the story.

Skyler is a new mom that has made the trek to Maine to see her sisters. Bonding time with her sisters and daughter and working at their summer camp sounds like a great way to spend the next eight weeks.
Nick runs the local bowling alley and is so happy to see Skyler walk in. He hasn’t seen her in almost a year…since they shared two hot hookups. He does what he can to be her friend, despite her constantly brining up his reckless and thrill-seeking behavior. But, when a trip to the doctor reveals a secret, his whole life is changed.
Skyler and Nick’s relationship felt so real…like they could be two friends you know. They had their ups and downs…laughs and tears…frustration and understanding….lust and love. It’s all there. Reading the story of them navigating their way through a new relationship with everything else going on was entertaining. Skyler is emotional and determined to do right by Gabby…while Nick is flawed and puts his foot in his mouth more times than I can remember…but it felt genuine. Overall, a good book that kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Pursuit into Darkness is Book 2 in the War of Destiny Series. The journey with Julia continues as she has been working on her powers for the past 70 years. Life with Julia and Samuel have been quiet since Julia took his offer to help the Resistance but that all changes when Valentino arrives to destroy Samuel and Julia who have become a threat to his power. Julia and Samuel feel ill prepared to do battle and instead Samuel, Julia and the Ka-tet decide to flee the country. When fleeing does not work, they are forced to battle Valentino before he destroys them all. Julia is forced into a battle to save her life and those of the ones she loves while also saving herself from the impending madness that is slowly consuming both her mind and soul.
I loved the character of Julia and admired her strength, courage and resolve in the face of danger. Although at times I must admit that I doubted her sanity and there were a few times that it appeared Julia was slowly losing her grip on reality. Samuel was a complex man who was haunted by memories of his past which spilled over into the present. Book 2 really picked up from where the first book ended, the action intensified, and it took a dark twist that I was completely unprepared for! I highly recommend this book!

Julia is still recovering after betraying her ka-tet, the remorse and guilt is plaguing them all and she has become tired of trying to explain what happened and why, but the others have also become tired of her trying, Matthew has left the group completely while the others are only just tolerating her presence in the house. She is still also worried about being yet again plagued by the visions of her dead husband and the voices who whisper things to her, she fears that they will return and the insanity and madness which led to her past betrayals will start again, the others just fear that she has already gone insane and that is why they are avoiding her.
One night their leader disappears and nobody realises until Julia tries one more time to approach him, but when she finds he has left, she turns to the only other person he would speak to, Matthew, who is as shocked to see Julia there as he is to hear that their leader had vanished. After excusing himself from the house of his new found friends, the Medici family, where Julia found him, they check where he and Matthew would usually be, when he is not there, this is where Julia realises that she is the only one who can track him and so she and Matthew agree, reluctantly on his part, to journey after their wayward leader and bring him back home, but like so many other things, this plan goes awry.
As the journey continues, Julia’s visitations begin again and Matthew is wary, however, as they talk more about the situation, they realise that there is something else going on around them and that they are just a small part of it, someone is trying to change the course of destiny, but who this is and why remain a mystery. Will they be able to find the missing member of their group and solve the mystery surrounding Julia and her future, or will they be too late to change any positive outcome? This is a fast paced fantasy which will suck you in and pull you along in a world where vampires and destiny meet head on, in a race to discover lost secrets and reveal truths which will be life changing, in a way that only a vampires life can be changed.

Book Three of the War of Destiny series is just as compelling as the first two! Each one just gets better than the last. Julia is still a wonderful character that continues to appeal to me. I want this series to go on and on for several books, so that I could experience more and more with Julia. These books would also be just as good as stand-alones because the characters are well-developed. If you are into vampires, history, the paranormal, romance, drama, and all other emotions, pick up this book and/or series. Even if you aren’t that much into vampires and the paranormal, this book has enough action to keep you intrigued all the way through. Highly recommend!

Krystina Meraki is the youngest sister of three and this is her story, she is in her late teens and obsessed with her Instagram and blog about travelling the locale where she lives in the USA, however, her dream is for that to become a hit and increase her already large following so that she can travel the world and see all the exotic places she wants to. Loukas is the same age as Krystina and lives next door, but since he messed up their close friendship years ago, she doesn’t see him as anything more than a pain who won’t leave her alone and this isn’t helped by the fact that he spends a lot of time with her family too.
The other thing Krystina wants to be able to do is finish what her sisters started and bring their grandfather home so that her grandmother can be truly happy again, but that is easier said than done when he lives so far away, but Krystina is determined and when the chance to do just that falls into her lap, she gives it all she has to try and convince him. Meanwhile, circumstances take a turn for the worse and external challenges interfere with all her plans, not to mention that Loukas is still following her around like a lost puppy and that is irritating her to no end, however, as she faces the challenges all around her, Krystina comes to realise that it is Loukas of all people who is helping her deal with it all.
This is another romantic adventure where a quest to bring family back into the fold faces impossible hurdles and where frenemies have to relearn how to work together to face an uncertain present, while reuniting a past. This is an unpredictable story where twists and turns throw you off until the path to the end is revealed.

The first book in the War of Destiny series caught my attention right off the bat! Historical Fiction is my jam, and I pretty much inhaled this book. This paranormal historical romance was like diving head-first into nice, cold water on a hot day. It was so refreshing to get sucked into a story and not want to leave that world. The story takes place in 16th century London, and centers around Julia, a kick-ass main character, who is married off to a man she does not love – or really even like, for good reasons. She endures a traumatic experience, and is faced with a life-altering decision that unleashes her true strength as the reader is whisked along. The characters in this book are well-developed, and I became very invested in Julia’s story very quickly. For me, if a protagonist doesn’t hook me right away, I have trouble buying into the whole story, and the character development is a big deal. This book didn’t disappoint! I will absolutely be reading the rest of the series.

L is very confused about everything but feels that deep down in her soul that everything that locan is saying is correct and she quickly starts to embrace what is clearly her destiny. While aboard his spaceship, the evil men from her home planet Prias have set out to try and capture her as they want to use her for their own benefit instead of the destiny she was created for. Will she be captured ? Will she become the queen she’s meant to be and save her people? So many questions to be answered. There are so many twists and turns in this book and the adventure we’re taken on is full of suspense, mystery, romance and action. I really enjoyed this novel and I look forward in seeing what the author does next.

What an imaginative and vivid book. The author has created an easy to read and yet captivating story. The characters pull you into it straight away and the story just keeps your attention. The overall theme was interesting and quite exciting. I really thought the MC was easy to connect with. She was engaging and strong and just an all-round brilliant character. She built up some great relationships and it was amazing to watch them develop throughout the book. This is a fantastic book that I cannot rate highly enough. I would highly recommend everyone read it.

It’s okay really 3.5 stars for me. Well The Blood Prince is interesting. I’m not the biggest fan of the story concept, however that doesn’t take away from what the author has written. The author created an interesting world with enough detail that you can imagine yourself there in the story. At the beginning it was all over the place and I was slightly confused. As you get further into it the author cleans up a lot and the story itself gets more interesting and understandable. Living in this different world’s poverty Leo is trying to take care of his siblings. He’s different and he knows it, he can call an essence that takes over his body. It turns his eyes red, numbs the pain, and makes him invincible in battle. It garnered rumors about him, gaining him the nickname of “The Blood Prince.” Everyone knows of him but don’t necessarily know who he is. When the bounty for his head has been doubled he realizes his family needs to leave Tominay. After finding a letter from his mother, they set off for Illena. Coming across many obstacles along the way, they persevered. Just one problem, it’s what they find once they get to Illena. Leo & Cael find themselves fighting for freedoms they are viewed as trash, even go as far as criminals based on author descriptions. But there are golden-eyed people who are interested in them. What could they learn from the outcasts? Will these two brothers find a way to prove they aren’t who they are assumed to be? Two of the many questions that come to mind once I got the Illena portion of the story. Which is also written better than the Tominay part of the story. Once the story moved to Illena, the book really started to peak my interest. Made me glad I tried something new, knowing how I felt at the beginning. A promising author that I look forward to reading other works in the future.

What a wonderful and unique story – I really enjoyed this book! I’ve read a few books by this author and she does have a wonderful writing style that makes all of her books enjoyable to read and this one was no different. The characters were really interesting to read about – I love Roxanne! I loved the bond that she had with Claudette, they really had a genuine connection I felt. The author really did an amazing job with the storyline for this story I think it had potential to become difficult to understand but she made it so easy to read, so many intertwined themes all blended together perfectly. I would absolutely recommend this story, its beautifully written and wonderful to read! I look forward to more from this author again in the future

If you love a good forbidden romance with a brother’s best friends this is your kind of story. Our couple, Remi and Audri have tremendous chemistry together. This alpha has met his match with this fierce, smart, and very self-sufficient woman. Remi cannot help but fall for the beautiful Audri even though she is his best friend’s little sister! There are twists and turns giving you that stomach drop feeling hoping that after this they will be together. The author did a beautiful job of keeping the story moving in a very organic way without sacrificing any aspect of the story that needed telling. This is a wonderful start to what is sure to be an action packed, heat fueled series.

A fantastic audio book! This author never fails to entertain me with her writing and I love that I never really know what I’m going to get when I decide on one of her books. I thought the main characters took a little bit of time for me to warm to but once I did I thought she was great! She was definitely determined to find out what happened to Lacey! The narrator really brought the story to life and I certainly felt like I was right there with eve collecting clues and trying to find out what. Happened.
Overall a great audio book and one that I would highly recommend.

The setting of the story takes us to 1899 in Colorado Springs, where we meet Cora Croft at the exact moment she comes across a dead body. This historical fiction novel pulls you in. 17- year old Cora Croft reminded me a few times of Anne of Green Gables. Cora is not the dreamer that Anne is, but Cora is not your typical girl of 1899. She’s got big plans as we learn, to go away to college, see places, and not settle. She sets out to be the assistant to a scientist that recently moved to town, and before long, someone is stealing documents, and another body piles up. Cora, Harrison, and Cora’s friend Wolf are set out to solve the mystery.
I truly enjoyed reading this young adult novel by A.D. Brazeau, my first that I have read by A.D. I found it easy to read, and the story flowed well, which made this an easy one to come back to. The story kept me interested. I found the characters likable. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and enjoyable read.

I then read the prologue and my blood runs cold …..
What an epic read this was and characters really just climb into your heart .
Armani is really studious and want to achieve and she does and Melody you just won my heart from the get go with your fairytale like belief in everything , I think you and I could be great friends

There was so much going on and I don’t say it in a negative way at all , so many topics touched on and dealt with but in essence it was about the friendship these people shared and it’s so very precious and their journey had me in tears , had me shaking my head and there were times I just wanted to put it down and walk away but my perseverance was rewarded ❣️📕

He wants nothing to do with her in any way. Along the way to find their leader enemies start to close in on Matthew and Julia. They realize that something isn’t right and more is going on than what they thought. Something dark is happening. Something sinister. Something that is tampering with true destiny. They must find out who it is and what they want before it can destroy them and their whole ka-tet. Will Matthew finally let Julia speak and let her explain what really happened with Valentino? Will he set her ablaze and not think twice? Will she get through to him or will it be to late? And what about their leader?! Will Samuel be attacked in Rome and never make it out? Such a great set of books!! I wish there was more!! I could totally read a few more to this set easy!! If you haven’t read this set I would recommend you do! It took me a minute to get into the first one as the author was building up the story, but once I was hooked I was hooked!!

What a sweet little story! I really do enjoy reading this authors books to my daycare kids, as well as my own daughter. Their ages range from 1 to 9, and my 9 year old thoroughly enjoys reading the stories to the kids just before nap time too. As it’s a hot summer, we were most interested in trying to science experiment and will be doing so later today. She captures the attention of the audience, and keeps us coming back for more. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend the Mermaid science books to all those with little ones running around!

Truly could not put this book down. I fell in love with Phillip, Roxanne and Claudette from the get go and the author did not disappoint!
My heart broke for Roxanne when she was seeing the ghosts of her son and husband. The heartache she experienced and then to uncover the truth about Claudette’s brother and giving them the best gift.
I literally smiled when Roxanne and Phillip were given the truth in the last few chapters. I am so glad the author let them have such a wonderful happy ending. They both deserved that so much after so much tragedy in love happened to both of them.
I personally love stories like this one. It puts you in your feelings and then doesn’t stop. You get attached to the characters because there isn’t many and they bring you along for the ride.

I enjoyed this book and it kept me engaged. I really liked Carissa and rooted for her in the story. I find that if I don’t connect in some way with the main female of the story, the book drags for me. There was the right mix of elements for books of this genre. I would definitely read more by the author.

The whole ka-tet’s safety is at the stake. Can she find a way to get passed the voices in her head and stop Valentino? Will she ever stop doubting herself and everyone else? Will she be strong enough for the fight ahead? Will Valentino destroy everything that she clings on to? Her only family. Her only source of strength. Man do you have to read this set! It is getting better and better with every book!! I can’t wait to read part three!!
