Into the LightInto the Light by Kate McWilliams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Ellie and Raf’s story so much! Raf is best friends with Ellie’s brother. She’s the younger sister. They both have had feelings for each other for SO long but never acted on it. Raf always made sure to look out for her though and was always there for her and a little overbearing, lol. The backstory for Raf is pretty deep, I wasn’t expecting that. But I love it at the same time. He doesn’t think he deserves anything good..because of his past. Book took a turn I wasn’t expecting either! Suspenseful about 70% into the book and it’s SO good. A lot of angst in the beginning and a lot of spice 😉 towards the end. Great characters and great story! Read this in one sitting!

Boss’s Vendetta (Sicilian Gods Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Michelle Austin

Boss's Vendetta: Dark Mafia Romance (Sicilian Gods Book 1)Boss’s Vendetta: Dark Mafia Romance by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great 5 star read. And a great start to a new series. I love mafia reads and this one did not disappoint. Adrianna was feisty and clearly did not like Salvatore in the beginning, by the way she was acting at the hospital. There was something about her that caught Salvatore’s attention. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. We get a mix of dark, romance and mafia danger all in one great story. I was pulled in right from the beginning and didn’t want to put it down. I loved Salvatore, he was a hot alpha male that always got what he wanted. The author does a great job with her writing. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get reading today.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Curse of the Elf Lord is the second intriguing book in the Kingdom of the Elf Lords series by Heidi Vanlandingham. It is a fantastic fantasy full of paranormal elements, romance, elves, shifters, magic, action, danger, drama, emotion, adventure, superb world building, challenges, past history, interconnected details, complexity, depth, family, a quest, and high stakes.
After reading the first book, ‘Return of the Elf Lord’ I wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to read this instalment. I had high hopes for what it might contain- especially after finding out about the curse that turns an Elf into a werewolf… I was already hooked by at that stage and my anticipation was set on high. After excitedly diving right in, I was soon engrossed in all the intriguing developments- and devoured every word. I was so happy that the story turned out to be every bit as good as I hoped it could be, and more.
I can’t wait to read Cyran and Shalendra’s story, Book #3 in the series!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Heidi Vanlandingham!

A Sci-fi fated love romantic story with loads of adventure. This story is short and sweet with plenty of chemistry between the two main characters. It’s the first time I’ve read of a space vampire, but who says vampires can’t be aliens. It works well in this story. The journey with loss and hopelessness leads to trustint one another. Love between the two, growing underneath betrayal, grief and pain.

Adorable book about a hat that helps a kid read minds. This book is really cute with great pictures. The interesting idea of a kid being able to read minds because of a hat is extremely cute. I think this book should be a must have for kids. Definitely one of the best books by Lois Wickstrom. Absolutely recommend.

We Blend (Falling for the Rockstar’s Daughter Book 1) by Willa Drew – Review by Beverly Finnie

WE Blend (Falling for the Rockstar's Daughter Series #1)WE Blend by Willa Drew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed We Blend. It reminded me of all the romance movies that have been made when lying by omission could come back to bite you. The author weaved an interesting story with wonderful characters. Character growth was presented in an elegant way. Especially between the two main characters.
El and Wil have ended up in the same place at the same time. Her trying to take a leap of faith and him in turn being the savior she needed to succeed. Unfortunately for El she doesn’t know that Wil has a hidden agenda with every intention of using her. What Wil never realized is El is not the person he assumed she was. She’s sheltered and kept isolated, but is it really for her own good? I feel like her parents are holding her back, they don’t want a career in stardom for her. El wants to have a music career. And music is my favorite theme throughout. Music allows both El and Wil to truly see each other. It also is a big growth contributing factor.
Does Wil’s secret come back to haunt him?
Will El’s parents realize they are smothering her and not protecting her?
I look forward to reading other books by this author in the future. Because I went into this one with hope and promise, and it Absolutely delivered! Now it’s your turn!

There is a beginning scribble page to test out your art media and what to do if your coloring bleeds through. This is a great idea! Faces look like anime anime artwork and the damsels are age appropriate in design. The characters don’t look scary and are adorable. There are enough details in the pictures to keep you interested and keep coloring for any age group. I like to do adult coloring and this is a wonderful book!

WOOT!!! She did it again!!!
Another feather in this talented author’s cap!
Boss’s Vendetta is the first book in the Sicilian Gods series by Via Mari. This is a fantastic start to a new series, but is also a bit of a nod to ‘The Larussio Legacy’ series as this first instalment gives us Salvatore Larussio’s story- and wow, what a story he has!
It is a fantastic dark mafia romantic suspense with an enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity element- as well as danger, intensity, drama, action, chemistry, sizzle, agendas, mafia politics, high stakes, emotion, and more.
As I have mentioned so many times now, I have read all of Via Mari’s book and have loved every one of them. She never fails to deliver a sexy and enticing read that keeps me glued to the pages as all the gritty developments unfold. And this story didn’t let me down!
With wonderful characters, superb chemistry, attention to detail, as well as palpable suspense cleverly woven throughout the plot… all this gripping tension definitely had me on the edge of my seat- avidly reading to discover how it would all play out.
Well Done!
Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, Via Mari!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s a wonder the steam from this couple didn’t melt them away from their snow covered prison in the mountains. You could cut that sexual tension with a knife. And those are exactly the things that made this such a fun read. Ella is very much a “what you see if what you get” type of chick, but Jared is another package that takes some time to unwrap and figure out. Boy’s got some issues, but I enjoyed watching them work through their differences and find each other. I loved this book and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read it. If I did it all over again, I would start from the beginning of the series, just so I had a little better sense of some of the chapters. But no worries, as I’m ready to jump right into those now! Strongly suggest this fun read!

A Love Restrained (Philly Heat series, #1)A Love Restrained by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All I can say is WOW! When I started reading this book I thought it was a romance novel but as I made it further into the book I could tell it was much more! This book started as romantic suspense to a new high with fast-paced, action-packed twists and turns. The book follows two main characters, Kylee and Jayson. They come from two very different ways of life. Jayson is from an abusive alcoholic low income family. At the same time, Kylee comes from a large supportive family.
Kylee and Jayson finally stop fighting the physical and emotional attraction they have had all these years for one another things start to become more complicated. When Kylee gets jumped because of her job as a police officer and Jayson is about to blow his cover as a DEA agent he must leave Kylee alone in the hospital recovering from a horrific attack that left her almost dead.
I love that the author jumped to the future in the story to continue the story at a turning point! I can’t wait to read more from this author!!

The Mermaid and the Ice Cube Necklace is a science based story where two friends learn that cold water doesn’t melt ice cubes as quickly as warm water. When two friends decide to make their mermaid friend a necklace made from ice cubes by blowing on them through a straw to make holes in them, they learn that the ice cubes float. This book is a fun story with an educational base. The illustrations are great and the topic is relevant to young scientists.

I loved all of the family dynamics playing a part in the story, as well as the close tender conversations “Sparky” and “Buttercup” had together. This love story shows you to establish and respect boundaries, as well as being true to who you are and others will accept you as you are. Not to mention the saucy scenes between the stubborn and the brash!

OMG! The tension, the chemistry, the story, the characters!! I was not prepared for the way it ended. I am a WE follower.

Melodie “El” is the daughter of a famous opera singer and a rock-n-roll megastar. This puts El in the spotlight on a regular basis, but also puts her in danger and causes her to be a popular target of the paparazzi. El grew up sheltered and protected. El has a dream of performing but her parents say no. She is determined to find a way.

Wil comes to the US for one reason, to find his sperm donor who just happens to be a famous rockstar. By chance, Wil meets El in a bar where she is attempting to perform. Wil helps El in that moment, starting a budding friendship. El is Wil’s way to the sperm donor.

As the friendship grows, so do El and Wil’s feelings for each other. As a bonus, El’s confidence on stage has blossomed. Wil and El start a working relationship, Wil’s words with El’s music. The songs are amazing and soulful. As El’s parents start making decisions for her and lessen her chances of breaking away, El and Wil make some big changes.

Once El and Wil meet and have that moment on stage, there is no letting this pair go. There is so much to like about this. Except the ending. I wasn’t expecting it. It is not bad but I didn’t realize. I wasn’t ready. It was just so…….I wasn’t ready. But I do know I will be anxiously waiting for WE Breathe.

It was a fantastic book to read. You get the chance to watch a character develop into more than you think. This book made me laugh and get frustrated along with the characters.

This book follows the story of Ella and Jared. Jared, the bad boy drummer with a line of waiting and willing women. Ella is a woman that loves her family and is conflicted about her feelings.

What happens when you stick two hot heads in a secluded location with no escape? Will old habits come back to bite them? Will they learn to be friends and leave the past in the past?

Read this book to follow this love-hate relationship. It is filled with a lot of spice for you spice lovers as well. Keep a glass of water to keep you cool during arguments and spice.

River Witch by Cheryl Burman – Review by Santana Hicks

River WitchRiver Witch by Cheryl Burman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

From a young age Hester has always been different. She spends her time talking to the River. When she was only 4 years old, Hester met a strange man by the name of Aaron. He knows a lot about herbs and flowers and of their uses. He also can hear the voice of the river which is actually a goddess by the name of Sabrina.

Once Hester is older, her mind starts to wonder to the man she met years prior and of his knowledge. Her great grandmother healed the sick and hurt with her knowledge on plants and potions. Hester wants to be just like her. Hester decides to seek Aaron to teach her his ways. At first he is reluctant but once he realizes Hester will not stop until she gets her way, he decides to start lessons with her.

Hester’s mother has always been against natural remedies as it is seen as witch-like. She just wants Hester to be a normal lady, find a husband and birth his children. As Hester gets older, her mothers ambitions get stronger and Hester wants to flee the life her mother has laid out for her. She runs to Aaron only to find he agrees with her mother. He thinks it would be safer if they cease their lessons and Hester should go on to be a bride. This does not bode well with her and she decides to do everything in her power to get what she wants.

This book was not at all what I was expecting but in a good way. The synopsis doesn’t give this book justice. There is so much going on within the book and in different points of view which makes it even more interesting. I loved Hester, she was strong and independent (well as much as one could be in that day in age as a woman). She was determined and humble.

The only downfall for me personally is I found the book very repetitive. I found myself starting to read ahead when it started to say the same things which made immersing myself completely into the world hard.
