This is a really strong start to a new series and it was such an easy book to get into. I loved the main character. She comes across as so strong and feisty. She was really interesting to read about and I thought she was so engaging. This is still a relatively new author to me but I am starting to get a feel for her writing style. Her books always come across as well developed and I find them to be exciting and fast paced. As the first book in a new series I think this one does a great job of whetting your appetite for what is to come. I am looking forward to seeing what that might be.
I enjoyed reading this young adult story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories from the start. Her characters are connectable and bring the story to life on each page. This story is no different. This is a well written story that will make you question fairytale magic. Does it have a place in life or is it just that a fairytale? This is a fast paced story that I had a hard time putting down. It is an engaging story where the character’s growth is great. They have great chemistry and are supportive of each other throughout. This is a great story that I truly enjoyed and look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book.

Teagan wakes up and finds herself chained to a bed. She’s all confused and just wants to go home to her husband and kids. She has no memory of life before them but quickly starts to hear of her exploits as a spy for the Firm. She doesn’t want that life but it seems like there may be no way out of it.
This book is a super fast read as it’s only around 100 pages long. Due to the short length of the book, I felt that it was lacking development of the characters and the plot. There were parts of the story that didn’t seem to flow. There was some action to it but not as much as I like to read about, but again, the story is pretty short and there is a lot packed into these short pages. I didn’t like most of the people on Teagan’s team because I’m pretty sure the majority of them are backstabbers. It goes to show you can never truly know who to trust!

This was a very interesting mystery and one I enjoyed. I had a suspicion of who did it, but did not put the clues together until the end. The setting was very intriguing and, having a raptor center near my home town, I was delighted to have such a unique atmosphere. I enjoyed the little bits of motive that applied to multiple people and they were slowly chipped away until the actual one was revealed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries and look forward to reading more by this author. I also like the Pacific NW setting, somewhere that is on my list of places to visit!

In Plain Sight is the 8th book in the Logan McKenna series. I haven’t read them all, but have read a couple. This can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. It is full of suspense and I love that the mystery was held out until the very end. The story follows Logan and her friends, as they try to solve a murder they stumble across. The main characters are female and they are all strong leads- smart, successful, strong, etc. and I love that. This book had me captivated and I didn’t want to put it down. I struggled to learn the characters in the beginning because we are introduced to a lot in a short period of time. Most being female and I had a hard time keeping them straight. But if you have the same problem, stick it out. You won’t regret it! I look forward to reading more in the series.

This was an excellent reading experience! And yes, it truly was an experience, learning about djinn and Ifrit along with Bax. Seeing his prejudice as he walked his path, and his growth as he realized his mistakes. This story kept me engrossed from beginning to end. I truly adore fantasy stories, and I’m a sucker for a young adult read. This was such an excellently written glimpse into getting wishes granted and the perils of not being careful what you wish for. It brought to mind a lyric by Daughtry, “Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.” If you like modern takes on fantastical and mythological themes, this is definitely a fabulous choice!
I really liked this book! I finished it in one setting. The characters were amazing and the villains were exceptionally villainous. I loved that yes, it was a Cinderella retelling but it was original. The fairy Godmother story was my favorite part. I need more of that. I’m excited for the next book!

The Girl Who Escaped was the first Mark Nolan book I’ve read and I look forward to catching up on what else I’ve been missing. This was one of those thrillers that hit the ground running and really pulled you in from the first few pages. I am someone that reads a synopsis, forgets all about it and reads the book blind… so this felt even more twisty to me than it probably did some. It was fast paced and a great book to end out my summer. I often found myself holding my breath, especially during the very early chapters. For those of you with a soft spot for animals, there’s even a dog in the storyline… Overall, great plot, great characters and a great read.

This was a gem that was very much enjoyed all the way through! I was swept away with the easy flow of the author’s writing and how the characters were and how they developed by the end! Great read!
The book as I said had an easy flow, but it was not all candy and gum drops. There was a suspenseful side to the story as well. I really loved the chemistry and lustful moments between Kylee and Jayson. They were both different but when they were together there was no denying what was blooming between them. I enjoy stories where two people want to be together, really have to work towards that goal For these two there was a million reasons to stay apart, but how long could they fight it The character development between them was really deep and heartfelt.I felt I knew them all my life. Loved that the author did such a strong development with the story and the characters. I loved this book all the way through, I will be reading more by this author for sure, I cannot wait to binge what other creations of books they have written! Definitely a author I want to experience more of, their writing style was perfect!
Loved this book, it held me all the way through, and was a gripping read for more than one reason! I could not put this one down! For sure a must read on my list, and no doubt, a high recommendation from me!

I really enjoyed listening to this audio book. The story was really lovely and I adored the characters. The narrator in particular did a great job of trying to bring the characters to life. I loved listening to Sky and Max’s relationship evolve over the story – they were both really nice characters and I was really rooting for them. I loved Sky’s daughter too, she was sweet and sassy at the same time! There were some great secondary characters too especially Big John! I also think the author did a great job with some of the more sensitive topics addressed in this story!
A great audio book and one I would highly recommend!

I loved this set of stories with a passion. The book had stories that really sprung to life even if it contained stories of the undead! This was a collection of stories that were right up my alley! Loved it!
I loved how each story was a true fight for survival, no matter which way they came. Each story had its own impact and resolution to see another day. I was hooked and intrigued all the way through. I really enjoyed the author, Courtney Konstantin, the story by this amazing author really stuck with me. And made me turn those pages to see how everything would turn out! As we all would think, in a world these stories are set in, tomorrow is jot promised, or even guaranteed for that matter. Loved this book!
The collection was a must read for sure and a collection I am proud to have in my own personal library to go back and enjoy whenever I wash. Thank you to these wonderful authors for creating such a spell binding collection of stories. This was a must read for sure, and I highly recommend!

I do love my paranormal books with a passion but this one really held its own. I was swept away with the story and the characters that it held. It was full of intrigue and moments you did not want to let go of.
I loved that this book focused on a supernatural detective agency. To me that was a golden find as I knew I was in for a treat learning that and the characters that info surrounded. Ava was a woman after my own heart. She had the personality that you do not see much in characters in paranormal books. She was strong minded as well. The book went at a fast pace and everything made sense, and there were no confusing moments. You read what you got. The book was magically amazing Impossible not to love!
I loved this book for all it held and contained. I can’t wait to read more! The book was great all the way through. I highly recommend this must read book! I highly say, do not pass this one up!

For people like me who sometimes don’t continue a series right away it was very helpful and brought me right back into his story and it fills you in even if you miss a book! The switching of perspectives throughout, also keeps the story moving and feeling fast paced without ever getting dull. It kept me updated on all of the characters too! I felt the passion and determination and even fear from everyone, their emotions came off flawlessly. I loved Kara and Kaelan’s relationship. It was so sweet no wonder the fairies were “attracted to their love like bees to honey.” I also really enjoy Thorfinn and his broken sax/ sword, and the mythical friends he makes. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for intrigue, action, mythology, and fun.

Another good installment in this series. I enjoyed meeting Raven and to be honest witches are not a favorite of mine. Vamps -yes! Witches-nope. So I was hesitant about this but that connection between Raven and Romano is what made me believe. Raven seemed like a meek, incapable young witch in training. After a bit she impressed me with what she could do not counting standing up to Romano and other vamps. I enjoyed the banter between Raven and a certain band of vamps. What an ending! It made me happy but also ramped me up for the next in the series! So now I am eagerly awaiting the next one!

This is an enjoyable and engaging YA cozy mystery, and a great first book in a new series. In this story we are introduced to the heroine of the series, Emma, who is working at her family’s bakery but dreaming of adventure. Set in Chicago 1881, and the city is recovering from the Great Fire of 71, and the author does a wonderful job of bringing both the setting and the era vividly to life, through her descriptive narrative. Emma takes the opportunity of working with the boys on the delivery wagons, in her quest for a more exciting life. Emma has always been very observant and dreams of being a detective. Her observations lead her to investigate cases ranging from robbery to murder. However, her first case becomes more complicated when her family seem to be involved, and family secrets are revealed. Emma has to use all her skills, including her self defence and knife skills, in order to protect both herself and her family. This is a very entertaining, page turner of a novel, which I thoroughly recommend. Emma is a great main character, who is likeable and relatable, and I look forward to going on many more cases with her during this series.

Having read and enjoyed the previous stories in this trilogy, I was looking forward to this third and final instalment, and I was not disappointed. The storyline continues from book two, so I would recommend reading this series in order. It was great being back with the three friends, Imani, Melody, and Lance, who all feel a bit like old friends to me now too! The trio have been through a lot together and like friends are supposed to, they have stuck together through thick and thin. They have always been able to depend on each other before, but when tragedy strikes, yet again, can they still depend on one another. Imani Cabrette, has always been strong and proud, and never asks for help, however, following an accident her world changes forever. Imani needs to overcome her stubborn pride, as she’s going to need help from her friends. Melody Wilkins, is sweet and dependable and owes her life to Imani, but now that it’s Imani who needs help, will Melody step forward. Meanwhile, Lance Dunn, has not seen Imani since she chose another man over him, can he forget their complicated past, and be there for her when she needs him the most. This novel like the previous two, took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it, and I was hooked from start to finish. The three main characters, are likeable and relatable and it’s been fascinating seeing how they have all progressed and developed throughout the trilogy, individually and as a trio. Their friendship has continued throughout each story, and has always come across strongly in the narrative. This was a real page turner, and I was happily turning the pages late into the night. I definitely recommend this series, and I’m slightly disappointed that I’ve now finished the trilogy and that I won’t be back with the friends again.

This is book 2 in a young adult romance series. I recommend reading book 1 before getting into book 2. I didn’t and I think I would have been more involved with the characters had I done so. This is a story of friendships and life of young adults moving through their college years. The main characters are Melody, Imani and Lance and each come with different life perspectives. There is a lot going on throughout The Colors of Love including (possible triggers): suicide, racism, domestic violence, and kidnapping. It begins with Lance becoming a protector of his friends (and his desire with wanting to be a pro athlete) due to a traumatic experience that Melody goes through with an ex-boyfriend. Then we learn about Imani’s love life – wanting to falling love but not allowing herself to do so. She has opportunities to find the love of her life, but she seems to back them off. What does this cause? Drama! Imani’s lack of commitment to men who wanted to be committed to her drove me nutso. A theme in this storyline was race. It becomes an issue – Imani can’t see past race in her own life, which hinders relationships. I wasn’t sure who the story was going to be about – it seemed like Lance, but Imani jumped out as the main storyline for me. But overall, a pretty good read – and it covers a lot of important topics that young adults face in today’s world.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Emma (Notebook Mysteries Book 1) by Kimberly Mullins. I have loved this series so much. The writing is so good that I feel like I’m truly there. This is Emma’s story and she is a remarkable lady. This is set in 1881 in Chicago after the great fires and Emma is in tune with things that she helps solve several crimes that have happened. Emma and her father are extremely forward thinking for their time. He even hires “specialists” to help Emma learn and that was unheard of in the time. Losing her mom in the fires has changed them all but it has only made Emma stronger and more independent. They are also trying to continue to run her mom’s bakery keeping them all super busy but the desires of Emma’s heart is far greater than her mom’s bakery. Trying to keep safe and still solve the crimes that she loves to do she dresses in a disguise to fool people. Will she be able to continue solving crimes or will she become a victim herself. Read this fun book about history and you will feel like you were actually there.

True Colors (The Colors Trilogy Book 3) by K.R. Raye. This is the 3rd book in this really good series. Its about true friendships in young adults lives. This book has Melody in a pretty good relationship, settled and for the most part happy. She continues to be a true friend thru it all to the group. Imani has married her best friend and is incredibly happy. When her world is turned upside down due to a tragedy she reaches out for her 2 closest friends. Will the be there for her or will they let her down when she needs them the most. Lance is finally trying to settle down for his girls but he’s decided that after a short fling with Imani he wants her forever. Will he show up for her when she needs him the most or will he let her down as he’s done in the past. The great series about love, life and true friendship is one you don’t want to miss. The friendships found in this series is very hard to find in life.

This is the 3rd book in the Colors Trilolgy. This story bring to a close all the events that our 3 friends have gone through in their life’s and answers the question of whether friendship can survive any stormy waters? In this story the friends return to help and support one another yet again. But things have changed and questions are asked about whether they can be as supportive to each other as they once were.
Melody is finally happy in the relationship she has now but that relationship isn’t without its demons. With everything that’s happened in Melody’s past and dealing with the pain her partner is going through she has a lot to deal with, but when tragedy strikes one of her friends she rushes to their side but is she strong enough to shoulder all the additional pain?

Its about learning how to navigate situations with the help of your friends but we also learn how people change over the course of time and how sometimes the people we expect them to be isn’t the person that they have become. All of the 3 stories have been emotional story’s and I’ve really enjoyed each and everyone of them

I was only going to ‘just start’ this book yesterday, but a couple hours went by and I was finished. This book allows the reader to escape to a beautiful island filled with incredible characters. We follow self made billionaire, Weston, as he returns home to Postscript Island and has a no so warm welcome from his former love Marissa. Although Marissa does her best to avoid Weston, mysterious offers to buy the local businesses has her seeking his help as his arrival was to help his mom’s similar offer. I loved the chemistry between the main characters, but my favorite character was by far Marissa’s dad. I appreciate that the author gives each character a personality for the reader to grasp onto. Good book, couldn’t put it down and definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed reading the paranormal story. There is so many twists and secrets that need to be uncovered that it keeps the readers guess. I loved the fact that the action starts right from the first page so the reader is instantly gripped.

When an old rival of Ava comes to her with a case she wants to turn her back. But she owns them a favour so agrees to take the case. So Ava accepts this impossible case, to find The Lauret Grimoire and return it before it falls into the hands of the wrong people. What follows is a captivating story as Ava unravels the clues to find this missing item. What will she uncover along the way? And can her old rival Tasis be trusted or is there something he is hiding?
I have mentioned in reviews before that I shy away from main characters in their teens because I find them immature and whiny… I suppose that’s a sign of a well written character as immaturity is part of our teen years but there is often something off putting about it. ANYWAY, MK Harkins is an author I’ve read and loved in the past so I decided to take a chance. Ashes was a fun, easy to read, modern day spin on Cinderella. I thought the characters were actually really well written with supporting characters being just as charming as the main. I feel like this author did a great job proving to me that all YA fiction is not the same and retelling a classic tell can be unique and enjoyable. I really enjoyed feeling as though I knew about and cared for the characters and I felt like I was there right in the halls or high school with the vivid imagery. I would definitely recommend giving this book a chance for a fun escape from your day to day and I look forward to reading more.

I loved book 2!! It was even more raw and real with a glimpse of our characters. This book hit my heart and soul with so many real life factors. Love, abuse, friendship, acceptance, and the struggles of life. Lance, Imani, and Melody tell a powerful story, and it’s one you want to read.

Tropical Date is the third book in the Postscript Island series by R.S. Jonesee. This is the first book that I have read by this author, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories. But I love a fun read, and this certainly gave off those vibes- so I snapped up a copy and dove right in. It is a witty romantic comedy with a second chances element, a tropical island setting, adventure, mystery, drama, banter/quips/antics, and danger…. All of which made for a sexy, fun story. A painter, a condom company CEO, a tropical island, their complicated past, some mayhem, banter, and plenty of chemistry- intriguing! Right? I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be going back to read the other two books in the series, as well as any future releases by this talented author. Happy Reading!

A urban fantasy you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed reading this book from not only Kayla’s point of view but also from Harlow’s point of view. Each of them confronts drama, magic, adventure, and so much more. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and connecting with them as the story progresses. It does help to read these books in the order they were published to get the best understanding of the story.

This is one of the best bad-boy romance novels I have read in a long time. Not the typical I want to change him and he does immediately like every other book of this trope. Becky does an amazing job at keeping the reader guessing about what will happen next. Well written and a fast read.
If you love a good bad boy this is the book for you. This book follows the journey of a young beat cop and the bad boy from her high school. JD is a hardened man made this way by a past with more twists than you would expect. Kylee the intelligent, witty, strong, and independent cop from a cheerful and loving family. You get to witness a chance yet unpleasant reconnection between these two. This book is full of surprises and twists you would not expect. Not your typical bad boy love story.
