The Victor (The Freemasons Book 1) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Kerry Carr

The Victor (The Freemasons #1)The Victor by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Freemasons series. It was a really good read. I loved how passionate Cole is about Ava and how Ava has grown in confidence and independence however this increase in confidence has also made her blind to what is in front of her.

This story was heartbreaking to read in parts. To see how a couple so in love could fall apart when tragic events hit and communication is lost. Instead of turning to each other in their time of need they pushed each other away until the gap between them seems so huge they will never be able to close it. Or so they thought.

When Ava turns up at a charity event to speak to her estranged husband Cole she had 1 goal in mind. She wants a divorce. After all Cole doesn’t want to be with her. He only married her out if a feeling if obligation so its going to be easy to get a divorce right?

Cole on the other hand has other ideas. Cole is devoted to Ava and has no plans on letting her go. He assumes the words he isnt saying is enough for her to realise how much he loves her. When Ava asks him for a divorce he is shocked and dead set against it. He needs to make her see and remember how good they were together so he comes up with a plan.

If Ava will work for him to plan this charity event for the Lodge he will grant her the divorce she so desperately wants.
And so his plan of action to win her back starts. Can this couple finally learn to open up and communicate? Can Ava see how much Cole loves her? And will Ava be able to resist her attraction and feelings for Cole when they are living and working together?

It is a very powerful story and one quite a few couple may go through and relationships end because of the same reasons that Cole and Ava has.
