This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I never hesitate to pick up one of this author’s books. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the first book as well to help your enjoyment of this series and author. It is always great to see where the characters come from to where they are now. I enjoyed reading this book just as much as the first one, maybe even more. I found this book to be fast paced and full of romance and action. It is hard to put down as it is that engaging. A well written story where Jace and Cyrus are faced with a race against time and a choice to save themselves or their souls. They are great connectable characters that are my favorite. I enjoyed what they brought to the story and their chemistry is great together. They pulled me into their world and had me coming back for more. This is an easy and entertaining story to read and one you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

What a delightfully entertaining tale! I love paranormal tales with a bit of the unexplained. A shifter and a healer with secrets. But…I think that things are not as they seem? I found this story to be one that hooked me right from the start. The action began right from page 1 and didn’t stop. The characters are well-written and relatable. The storytelling is such that it’s every engaging and keeps you interested. I couldn’t put it down. I am also a big paranormal fan. I love anything to do with out of the ordinaly so this is a winner in my book. I can’t wait for the next one.

I absolutely love the Celtic mythology in this series. Delaney and Baz’s story is so intriguing. She is a Talisman but she is also a warrior. Baz was 3 years past his 28th birthday so he became a rogue. When these 2 find each other and realize that she is his talisman, things get really interesting. Will he choose to stay a rogue or will he choose to become a warrior again? His choice will affect not only himself and Delaney but all rogues.

I have followed this story from the beginning. Fascinating retelling of Romeo/Juliet in a different way. Watchers & Messengers at war but Cyrus and Jace will fight through it all. Exciting storyline. There’s steamy romance for those that like it. I found the storyline better to stick with and just skipped those parts. This author makes you feel like you are right in the battle. It truly is good and evil. The characters are so relatable. When Cyrus feeds the demon child on Sheole Street and is arrested, you just want to yell “travesty!” It has been a wondeful duet. Do read the first one first. it will make this one even better. You might also enjoy Emissary, a prequel to this duet.

Just One Time (Beaumont Creek Book 1) by Samantha Baca – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Just One Time (Beaumont Creek, #1)Just One Time by Samantha Baca
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging small town best friends to lovers romance which had me hooked from page one. Abby is turning forty and she can hear her biological clock ticking, as she’s always wanted to be a mother, but never found Mr Right. Successful cafe owner Abby lives in the small town of Beaumont Creek, where everyone knows everyone’s business and gossip spreads quickly. Unfortunately Abby’s mother is very controlling and judgmental, and by trying to set her daughter up with any new bachelors in town she helps keep the gossip alive surrounding Abby’s love life, or lack of it. Nate is Abby’s best friend and is willing to do anything to make her happy, even offering to be the father of her baby!
They agree to spend one night together and see if she becomes pregnant. However, after one very passionate and steamy night, lines definitely become blurred between friendship and lovers and miscommunications and misunderstandings may jeopardise their future relationship. This is a heartwarming romance, with relatable and likeable characters, and I particularly liked having slightly older main characters. The chemistry between Abby and Nate really came across in the narrative and the small town setting was brought to life. I felt immersed in the storyline and invested in the characters, and I look forward to returning to Beaumont Creek!

Dawnbreaker: The House of Blood and Sun by Hadley Thorne

Dawnbreaker: The House of Blood and Sun is a wonderfully written Paranormal Urban Fantasy Romance that I freaking devoured in one sitting. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m definitely a fan. Their style of writing pulls you in from the beginning and the characters are fully developed and bring the story to life. Connor only cares about one thing and it’s revenge for the one who stole his humanity. Niamh is the sole heir to Emerald City Under the Mound she’s locked away during the day and playing her fiddle at night. Its all about to change once she meets Connor. Will these two figure out a way to make it work? Or is it not meant to be? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Under My Care (Chase Care Book 3)Under My Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pete Walter is part of Chase Security and Care, when he is woken up to a call for a rescue mission he is up at the plane. Walking through the plan he will need to implement as the medical director in order to keep the men and there recuses safe, but when it is revealed he will in the area of Rowena Andersen , the woman who has been a part of his heart from the day they met and time they spent together.

Rowena returned back to her home town to be the local doctor in the hospital, although she is divorced and with two children to support she tries not to remember the time in the army and a particular man who stole her heart and that the regrets eat away at her daily with the secret she has kept for so long, but when a blizzard threatens the hospital and a emergency arrival, can she trust herself when her past arrives in the present and can she hope for a future?

This book is the third in the series and can be read as a stand alone story, although to be really honest who would as this series is brilliant. I loved this story and the way that Pete and Rowena finally found each other after all this time. The chemistry between them is off the page and them getting to rekindle the friendship and love is lovely to read.

The story is fast paced and is full of twist and turns with drama added in for good measure,. The characters are rich and well developed which enhances the story as you read the struggles of both characters. The only downfall I have is there is a lot of medical jargon and although this did not detract from the story it did feel quite heavy in certain parts of the story. I loved the way the author added the myths and legends of the area into the story and this just added an extra layer to the whole mystery of the novel.

I definitely can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series.

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Book 2) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Jenni Bishop

Messenger (Star-Crossed Celestials Duet #2)Messenger by A.L. Morrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 stars
Messenger certainly twists things up as for a Romeo and Juliet retelling. This forbidden love tale is a MM love story set in the stars. It is the second book and another wonderful paranormal story in the Star-Crossed Celestials books. This sweet and steamy contemporary romance tale also has fantasy elements. Make sure you read the first book Watcher first.
It is full of hurt and fear, forbidden love and drama, action and tension, hope and redemption, sorrow and longing.
Messenger is bit of an emotional read and it is so easy to love these celestial beings Jace and Cyrus and feel for them. It’s a bit of a tougher journey for them this time.
Cyrus will not stop until he finds what was stolen from him.
Jace has lost all he ever wanted. Now he doesn’t want to go on without him.
All hell is about to be unleashed. Will they be able to find their way back to each other? Will they break their promise to each other to save a City or will they lose forever?
If you’re a fan of sexy fairy-tale retellings with a twist, then you will love this one as much as the first book.

Follow your heart, even if it takes you all the way to Las Vegas.

For precisely $102 dollars, Mitch Benson and Lauren Templeton marry in a 15-minute ceremony inside a little Las Vegas chapel. Soulmates since elementary school, nothing makes more sense than eloping to Sin City for a secret wedding.

But seven years later, the brilliant glare from the city of lights has faded.

Scratch that. The bulbs are burnt out.

In fact, the wiring may have been faulty all along.

Bitterly accepting that their marriage is coming to an end, Mitch and Lauren stray further and further from the love that once blossomed on the playground of their youth.

Lauren sells her soul to Pier Ninety-Two, her once-fabulous restaurant in downtown Los Angeles now a sad shadow in the Saturday night party scene. And Mitch falls into the arms—er, legs—of none other than childhood enemy, Tess Browning.

Devastated by the direction their love has spiraled, Mitch and Lauren make one last trip to the city of second chances, hoping to turn their pennies into the million-dollar love they once shared.

Will their last roll be a miracle—or a mirage—in the desert?

Return to Hoodoo (Boudin, Bourbon, and Barbecue, Book 1) Audiobook by Reggi Dupree – Review by Callie Luna

Return to Hoodoo is a must-read/ listen to! Gwen is a kick-ass main character that is very down-to-earth. She goes back to her hometown of Hoodoo, Texas due to an inheritance that she cannot say no to. The story is new and exciting as more is revealed about the town of Hoodoo and the main character Gwen. She is relatable as a woman who is fascinated with sexy men and Bourbon.

I was hooked by the first descriptions of the main character Gwen when remarking on herself. The narration is absolutely perfect; all the voices and inner monologues are done extremely well. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook.

A huge blizzard has moved in and they are trapped. Supplies are being sabotaged and they are having to fight for not only their survival but that of the patients as well. Will they be able to make it out of the blizzard without losing lives? Will they find the bad guys? My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Noah’s Not So Super Summer is the first book in A Super Series by Britany Tucker. It’s such a fun book that had me entirely engrossed right from the get-go. Ms. Tucker has again proven a knack for weaving intriguing stories that pull you in and hold your attention right through till the end. Her storylines are clever and fun, while her characters are dynamic and well-developed, making for a great read.
Noah had plans for his summer, pinning all his hopes on a summer program that he hopes will shape his future. But all his plans come to a crumbling halt when the city is over-run with mutants who are leaving a path of destruction in their wake. Noah will need to get to the bottom of things and find a way to stop the monsters if he has any hope of salvaging what’s left of his dreams- and perhaps help save the day along the way.
This is an entertaining teen action adventure with sci-fi elements, ‘supers’, the paranormal, bullies, heroes, mutant monsters, agendas, an evil mastermind, mystery, intrigue, drama, humour, high stakes, a ticking clock, hopes, dreams, family dynamics, challenges, emotion, and unexpected developments.
Looking forward to more from Ms. Tucker.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Brittany Tucker!

The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)

I’m so throughly impressed with Ms. Rossler’s writing. There are only two books listed in her catalog, but she writes like a seasoned pro who hasn’t lost her love for what she does. The depth she gives her characters is amazing.

We are getting Flynn’s story and there is no dull moments. From the moment they meet the heat is off the charts. I personally liked the pool scene after the tennis game and needed to put the book down for a minute.

Chavez is young with a temper that is triggered by almost nothing. He finally starts getting help and that is when his life changes.

I cannot wait to read June’s book and any other books in the future.

Chavez is getting back into playing tennis and Flynn offers to help him. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I really enjoyed this story, you could feel the couple’s connection coming off the pages. We do get some scary moments when someone stalks Flynn. Can these two get past their issues and have a HEA? The author does a great job of drawing the reader into the story and creates a wonderfully descriptive world of superheroes and monsters and atomic wedgies. Our hero Noah is such a great character that anyone could relate to. He is smart, hilarious, and just trying to survive his summer full of a monster infestation. The author did a great job of creating all sorts of twists to keep you guessing to the ending of the story. This is a short read but thoroughly enjoyable. The way the author wrote this story gave me all the feels. This story has trauma, love, romance, fun, and great characters. When Frank and Barbara first meet it isn’t good for either of them. When they meet again it gets better after Frank apologizes for being rude. As time goes on they both start to feel like it could be so much more. Will Frank be able to help Barbara? If you want to know what happens between these then this is a must read. For a short book it definitely felt longer and I couldn’t put it down once I started. I have read books by this author before and I’m never disappointed. I highly recommend this book.
