How to Make a Flying Carpet (Alex, the Inventor) by Lois Wickstrom. This has become one of my very favorite children’s authors. This book is no exception. They make great gifts and your kids will love them. This is the story of Alex who finds a broken magnet off the refrigerator and decides to put it to use because she doesn’t want to waste it. While figuring out what to do with the magnet she learns what exactly a magnet does. After she tries different things she decides she’s going to make a magic carpet. This is a great book for 4-8 year olds learning how to do fun experiments. My nephews will love this book when I give it to them and I can’t wait to try out some of the fun ideas. Buy this great book for gifts and for your own family.
