Wow, what a book this was. I knew from the description that I was going to enjoy this book but I was surprised by how much the story pulled me in. I loved the world that it was based in. It was imaginative and so interesting. The combination of characters the author introduced fit perfectly. I could easily visualise what was going on from the writing. This is a new author to me and I have to say I enjoyed everything about this book. The writing drew me in and the story and the characters kept my attention. This book also has one of my favourite covers that I have seen this year. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

It has been a while since I read a book from this author and as soon as I picked this book up I couldn’t understand why I had waited so long. This book is everything I have come to expect from this author – a fantastic story, brilliant and engaging characters and chemistry on almost every page. It took no time at all for me to connect with this story and before I knew it I was finishing the book in one sitting. These characters were made for each other. They have such a deep connection and I loved to see it develop throughout the book. I was behind them the whole way and couldn’t wait to see how things would work out between them. This author really does know how to create fantastic characters. This is a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it.

The author brings you right into the heart of the story right away as we meet Kyle and Lyle and learn of how immediately intense the connection is between them. Honestly my thoughts of their home lives were so sad in that they grew up in such extremely tragic situations. But in the midst of everything, they have each other as brothers. As the story unfolds, we learn that the bond between them is much more than brothers. I was intrigued by their connection and the way they tried to hide it even though it was evident. This was a really well written book! I highly recommend!
Another enjoyable and engaging story involving the Bennett’s of Langston Falls. This contemporary romance can be read as a standalone story, however having read and loved the previous books in the series I recommend reading them all! This is a friends to lovers romance which takes place in the small town setting of Langston Falls, which is once once again brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative. Hank Bennett’s dream is to be a country music star, but following the breakup off his band he’s at a crossroad and is wondering whether to continue with his music, or working on his family’s farm. Attending the hometown concert of his country music idol, Travis Miller changes everything, when he meets Travis’s award winning songwriting sister Ella Mae. Ella Mae invites Hank to join them on the tour and their mutual attraction is obvious and their chemistry leads to a passionate night. However, her famous brother becomes jealous and Hank starts to think that as a wannabe musician, he’s not good enough for Ella Mae. Meanwhile she’s dealing with the darker side of fame with her brothers drug and alcohol addiction. I loved Hank and Ella Mae and their chemistry really sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes. I enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout the story, and liked their hayloft serenades. I felt both immersed in the story and engaged with the characters, and was cheering the couple on to a promised HEA.

Liza Snow’s book Obedience had me at the edge of my seat from the first page! There are so many twists and turns, that you never know what’s coming next. I love the characters and the deep understanding that you get from reading Chandler and Cassandra’s points of view. Right from the start I was cheering for Cassandra to get her idol, the magnificent, high-flying Chandler, the master of the silks. I loved the push and pull that these two characters went through, the sexual tension could be cut with a knife as they go back and forth as they got to work together and get to know each other. No matter how much Chandler tried to deny his desire for Cassandra to protect her, the more she wanted him. The more he tried to push her away, the stronger the sexual tension grew. The setting of the story is so beautifully portrayed that I felt like I was right there watching all of the circus acts as well as all the practices with the silks, on the edge of my seat praying no one fell, or had any mishaps. I kept wondering about Cassandra’s mysterious past, and her Uncle who was in prison. What is Chandler hiding in his own personal past that he is trying to protect Cassandra from, and why does his father hate her so? Could their pasts be connected deeper than the two realize, and if so will they ever be able to have their happily ever after? You’ll have to read the book to find out, I’m not spoiling it for you! A Curse of Ash and Iron by Christine Norris is a fantastic story of curses, magic, and a great twist on the classic Cinderella. I loved the character development, as I got to know Benjamin (Ben) Grimm and Eleanor (Ellie) Banneker starting in their childhood. These two were an inseparable pair, hiding out in Ellie’s attic, and constantly getting up to mischief, until the day that Ben’s mom got fired by Ellie’s terrible stepmother for no known reason. Several years later Ben happens to see Ellie, both all grown up, in a theatre that his Dad ran and employed Ben in, amongst other jobs Ben had, all dressed in a beautiful gown and accompanied by her stepmother, Olivia, and her stepsister, Rebecca. As the two reconnect, without the knowledge of Olivia and Rebecca, Ellie is shocked that Ben recognizes her, which she will explain upon their subsequent encounter. Ben is unbelieving of Ellie’s story that her stepmother has cursed her and her father, believing more in the mechanics of things, that he can physically see or touch. As the story progresses, Ben comes to the realization that Ellie is correct, now will they be able to work together to break the curse that Olivia has cast upon Ellie and her father before the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, or will they be bound in their fates forever? I absolutely loved this steampunk version of Cinderella, the geniusness of making Ben a mechanical genius who has a knack for the illusionary just adds to the mysteriousness of this amazing story. This book had me reading straight through from beginning to end, excited to see who would persevere, the evil stepmother Olivia, or our wonderful heroine Ellie.

This book of short stories is a winner for me. This is a book for children but absolutely can be enjoyed by adults just as much! Each little story is a vibrant lesson about what it means to be brave. This would be a wonderful tool for parents or guardians to read along with their little and create a dialogue around each story and its message. This book includes great storytelling, and at the same time, keeps the stories short enough to keep hold of little attention spans. I definitely recommend this book of stories for any child or even any adult. The messages are universal and span the ages. Five enthusiastic stars.

This is the fifth book in the Balefire Series even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. However I do recommend reading them previous books as the characters are in all of the stories and you will be able to understand all the characters and their stories.
This story follow the bands manager Garrett and Olivia. Garrett and Olivia have a past. They were young loves but their relationship fell apart when Garrett choose to follow the band as their manager instead of staying with Olivia. Olivia was left hurt and heartbroken but she pushed forward in her life.
Fast forward and Garrett made his dreams come true, he manages one of the most successful bands ever but he can never get Olivia out of his head. Olivia has done well for herself too. Her determination means she owns her own production company. When Garrett contacts her to produce the next music video for the band she is filled with loads of emotions. Why does he want to see her now? As things progress Garrett realises she is the one for him and he is determined to win her back. But is it too late? Can Olivia forgive him for what happened all those years before? Even though the attraction between them is still there and strong can too much have happened for them to work through it?
This story is a steamy read. I wasn’t a fan of Garrett in previous books but after reading this i can understand the things that lead him to be the way he is today and the way he was with the members of the band and their ladies. I can understand Olivia’s reluctance and determination to not be hurt by Garrett again. It took her so long to rebuild herself after he broke her heart the first time. This story is a rollercoaster full with past heartbreaks, trust issues and hope that they can overcome all the odds to get to their happily ever after.

Breathless Love is Book Three in The Bennetts of Langston Falls series. This story focuses on Hank, who dreams of being a country music star, and Ella Mae, who is a songwriter for her famous country music star, Travis. Hank was in a band, but they did not share in his dream, so he is now trying to figure out whether to continue pursuing his dream or work on the family farm. Hank meets Ella Mae purely by chance when he goes to her brother Travis’ concert. She invites him to go on tour with them and as they spend more time together their attraction grows and romance blooms between them.
This was an exquisitely written, wholesome contemporary romance with vivid scenes that fully immersed you into the storyline with the characters. The characters were wonderful, and I found them to be lovable, relatable, and easy to root for. Hank was old-fashioned, sincere, kind, smart, ambitious and it was refreshing to see how much in love he was with Ella Mae. He will do anything to protect her and be there for her as she struggles with her brother’s drug and alcohol addiction. Ella Mae is sweet, kind, sincere, driven, smart, and talented. She loves Hank and wants to be there for him as well even through her own struggles. The two share a mutual love for music which is the starting point for a romance between them to bloom from friendship to mutual attraction, to unconditional true love. A beautifully written love story with downs that will have you reaching for the box of Kleenex and other moments that will leave you breathless.

This was a hard story to listen to. I generally don’t listen or read historical stories. But this one caught my interest. I am happy I took the time to listen to the story. A story told by a young child of seven. Talks Like Thunder is a remarkably strong young child who had to grow up fast. Her family had been taken from her, then a strange man comes along claiming to be her grandfather. Taking her to a new reservation, where she knows nobody. But that is just the beginning for Talks Like Thunder. Her story is told well and the authors knew their history. While this story was heartbreaking. I felt like I was sitting close by watching and listening. The authors, while new to me, I will be looking for more from them. I am interested to see where they take this series.

This is my second book by this author which I enjoyed reading. It is the third book in this series and I look forward to reading the previous books in this series. It can be read as a standalone as well. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the story from the start. The characters are relatable and creative. A story about a warrior who finds himself in a position of having to make a choice of defending the country who needs him or his family who also needs him. A story of honor, devotion and obligation. You don’t want to miss what happens with this warrior as his heart is toren in two different directions. I enjoyed what the characters brought to this story. It is a entertaining and easy story to read. It is fast paced and full of adventure. I highly recommend this book.

I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. An engaging romance story about chasing dreams when life is at a crossroads. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world from the start. They are strong, connectable characters that add so much to the story. They have great growth as well as chemistry throughout the story. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Hank & Ella Mae’s story is one that will touch your heart. Oh my goodness, the chemistry is sparking. Ella Mae is working through some real challenges with her brother and herself. Hank is a sweet, sweet cowboy that is the best kind of heart you could hope to find. The story is both heartwarming yet tragic. Faces from the Bennet family pop into the story (I sure hope we get Becky’s story, too). I love this author’s writing. It’s real, relatable and you feel the writing. I smiled, laughed and cried with them, tears of pain and joy. This is a beautiful story that will take you behind the scenes of a musical artist’s life. Gritty, yet if can be romantic. Oh, this is one of my favorite authors and this series will be joining my library. Absolute beauty.

Country music romance Book 3 of The Bennetts of Langston Falls brings us Hank and Ella Mae’s story. It’s a composition made in country heaven. The writing is brilliant and draws you in, and I quickly became vested in the characters. It’s dual POV, which I love, and there is drama, romance and tension that keeps you turning the pages. This can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s worth catching up with all the Bennetts. Recommend.

Until one day she walks into his life and plants herself deeply in his soul but will his dark family history and her thirst to find who killed her parents come crashing down around them and drive a wedge through them in the end.
I enjoyed the story and the characters within greatly, they way it built up the tense was brilliant to read. The chemistry between Chandler and Cassandra was palpable off the page and during the Shibari scenes where erotic in description and wording.
The one regret is I feel the story dragged a little at the start and took a while to build with the relationship between the two main characters but other than that I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read more by this author in the future.

A great mystery story. Through the whole book you think you know who did it but it never is who you think. J.C. Kenney writes in a great way to get your imagination running. The imagery is amazing. The story is full of details and a great read. This can be read as a stand alone even though it’s the second in the series. I have added the first book to my to be read list.

Wow! This is my first book by Jessika Grewe Glover and this book blew me away. I have added her other books to my to- be read lists. Stars Like Gasoline is full of mystery and life. It was a great nighttime read for me; I like ghost stories at night. There is so much culture and details that you normally have to struggle in some books to find. This one was packed full.
Although this story is a quick read, there is a ton of detail and life to follow. Krysten did a great job opening the imagination of YA and even me as an adult. I wish I would’ve read the beginning of the series so I could follow it better but the book does a great standalone job. Follow Cecily in her path to stardom and the struggles she faces to keep a normal life. Will life change and will she realize the issues in stardom or will everything be perfect? Read and find out!

People Safari was a cute book about a deer who wanted to adventure outside the forest. Ranger Marco, a raccoon, is about to take them on this journey, but the deer family is a little weary. Fawn, the young deer, is very excited to learn about his outside world and is amazed by many of the things learned. The fawn learns about neighborhoods, people, and what people do all according to the raccoon which is funny. However, they get spooked when they make their way into a garden and Fawn gets a little lost in the city. Ranger Marco finds the fawn quickly and because she was scared she quickly wants to find her parents and go back to the forest. When Ranger Marco asked if they were ready to explore more, the deer family wouldn’t have it. This was a cute book. I liked all the little thoughts about what they think people do in accordance with getting on a bus for school, walking their pets, and even how pooping works. The fact that the deer thought the human world was crazy was also funny because, well, it is!! I found the illustrations really cute too!
4.5 stars Hope and Lies is the first book in the Abredea series. C.H. Lyn carefully intertwines three compelling storylines in this dystopian fantasy. It is told through multiple POV’s and different timelines. With destruction, secret rebellions, politics, caste systems, kidnappings, supernatural powers, traitors, sacrifices, domination and control and family there is something for all lovers of dystopian tales. There is desperation, grief, pain, hope, love and wonder. I was so immersed in the story that the pages just flew by. A cleverly crafted tale where the worldbuilding is spot on, a well-written storyline and has three wonderfully intriguing plots. The diverse cast of characters are well written and interesting, and you become invested in them. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series. Dystopian fans will love it.

Seen is an original sci fi tale set in a dystopian world. This is the first time I have read this author’s work and it is an interesting and intriguing tale. The story starts off with a bang from the get-go and that sets the tone of the story. It’s full of drama, action, suspense, revenge, and lots more. With betrayal, danger, corruption, kidnappings, schemes, vengeance, ransom and murder you are drawn into the story. I enjoyed the bond between Mouse and Meph and their easy banter with each other and Tate. In a world gone crazy with darkness looming on street corners, looking for the right story to tell could be deadly. I enjoyed this book and look forward to what comes next from Lori. It would be good if Mouse and the gang get more stories.

3.5 stars Secrets of the Sorcery War is the second book in the Ruarnon Trilogy and Elise’s second book. It is a YA fantasy tale. The adventure continues on from the first book Manipulator’s War. As with the first book it was hard for me to fully engage in the story because it was a bit choppy meaning the story didn’t flow as seamlessly as it could have. Elise’s is a very vivid storyteller however at times the story became bogged down with too much information. It is good to see that Elise’s writing has grown from Manipulators War and I expect that I will see more growth in the next book as she settles into her writing style and develop her storytelling. Ruanon, Linh and the gang are back to sail the seas and to face off with a sorcerer-king Nartzeer. To find out if he is evil or not you will have to read it for yourself. Elise has created intriguing LBGTQ+ all-inclusive characters. With the MC’s being asexual and nonbinary. This story has action and adventure, things that go bump in the night, murder and mayhem, myths and lore, assassins and magic, drama and sorcerers and more. I look forward to reading the final book in the trilogy Land of the Clouded. If you love adventure stories, then take a chance on this YA trilogy.

4.5 stars WOW! Talks Like Thunder is the first book in the Red With Native Blood Novellas and is an intense and emotional YA, Native American tale that will tear at your heartstrings, make your heartache and will brand your soul. This powerfully written historical tale shows the passion and understanding of the subject by these two amazing co-authors. That Randal picked up the threads of the tale and finished Marjorie’s work is a testament to their friendship. This complex and moving story is one that is hard to put down and will stay in your thoughts long after you have turned the last page. The characters are hard to forget. The character of Thunder is a true wonder. She is strong, she is a warrior, she has grit, and I was with her every step of the way. Talks Like Thunder transports us back to a time where the harshness and realities of life for Native Americans comes to life. I absolutely cannot wait to get a hold of the next two books.

All three books in this series may be read as a standalone as they all deal with different characters and problems. In this story Jacklyn has just lost her husband to a heart attack. While working her way through he grief she finds that her husband had given their son a substantial amount of money to make his dreams a reality. They owned a flower shop together which she must now take care of, but with her world crumbling down around her how will she survive? She has no safety net for herself and must keep the shop in order to recoup the money that was given away. Her children talk her into going to a retreat but she soon realizes she has been duped and is actually in a psychiatric facility. Will she be able to prove that she is mentally stable and save her home and business? I enjoyed this book, but man did Dusty make me mad. Having a little perspective from working in the Healthcare field I get why he just wanted to put her somewhere rather than deal with his mother. His sister, Rose, just wanted what was best for Jacklyn and to help but her hands were tied. Dusty definitely had some underlying ulterior motives. I know it’s a work of fiction but I couldn’t help getting worked up. She decides that turning to a life of crime is the easiest way to go but is robbed blind by some bogus officers. Time is running out quickly and she must find a way to make all that money back plus some. What will her plan of action be? And will she be able to get the money in time? This book really does make you question what you will do and how far you’d be willing to go to save your loved one if you have the chance. I don’t think most people would choose to become criminals, but in a world of fiction anything is possible. They have a huge advantage over here since they know everything about her life from the tragedy that happened in her younger year up to the point we read about in the book. She must face her past as well as her fears if she is to find her way out. The question is will she be able to do that? I did enjoy this book.
