The Wandering Isles (The Crown of Stones)The Wandering Isles by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Wandering Isles is Book One in the Soulbound Journeys Series. It is an action-packed fantasy novella that continues with the Crown of Stones Series and can be read as a standalone, or as part of the series. The story centers around Ian Troy who we were introduced to in the Crown of Stones series. He has sacrificed everything for peace in his land and they no longer need his magic. Now feeling as though he is free to choose his own path, he leaves his home behind and sets off on an adventure with his friend Jarryd Kane. Tracing the routes of his ancestors he discovers a mysterious place known as The Wandering Isles. The island seems abandoned, but it is hard for them to tell, and this is where things take a turn and become dark and mysterious for Ian and Jarryd. This place may have secrets that would have been better left undiscovered. Ian and Jarryd are put to the test as the bounce between reality and nightmares starts to take its toll on them. This was a captivating psychological fantasy packed full of action, adventure, suspense, danger, intrigue, and magic. The author did a marvelous job of world building with some dark undertones and a hint of danger that keeps you reading until the end.
