Cruel King by K.M. Scott – Review by Lyndsey Fairley
Cruel King by K.M. Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I wasn’t too sure what this story was going to be as I went in blindly as the cover drew me in.
Whatever I was expecting this story surpassed it. I will not be giving spoilers so I won’t speak of much that happens that could be seen as such.
Ava is the daughter of an employee of the King family. They live on property and grew up with the King boys. She and Theo are thick as thieves and best friends for life. She’s always gotten along with all of them except the eldest, Matthias . She doesn’t know what she did but he’s rude and ignores her if possible.
During a snowstorm her homes power goes out and makes her way to the main house where she’s now stuck inside with Matthias.
Matthias was hard to read on the outside but in his POV we see the strain of being the oldest brother and the pressure their father puts on him. Ava has been said to be off limits but this snowstorm may change that.
I’m not one to enjoy a jump in time but this one was done well and kept the story from being bogged down with unnecessary details.
I didn’t expect quite a few things this story had and I’m still not over them all.
