Granting Katelyn (Sweet Valley Series) by S.E. Reichert – Review by Jennifer Gordon

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging western romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Katelyn Sullivan has to travel across the country in order to help treat an injured prized thoroughbred, however when she arrives, the owner, Grant Tennyson stands in her way. It soon becomes clear that if Katelyn wants to save the horse, then she needs to get close enough to Grant to find out why he doesn’t want her to help. As Katelyn gets closer to Grant she realises that his painful past may be stopping him from moving forward. However, she didn’t expect that losing her heart might be an option when getting to know the grumpy Grant. This is book two in the series and Katelyn is Elle (from book one) sister, however it can be read as a standalone story. Both Katelyn and Grant are likeable and relatable characters and their chemistry sizzled off the page. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a read, as the characters overcome issues both in their pasts and in the present. The descriptive narrative once again brought the setting to life which made me feel immersed in the storyline.
