Russian and Royally Complicated (The Crowned Hearts Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson – Review by Beverly Finnie

Russian and Royally ComplicatedRussian and Royally Complicated by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I cannot even begin to rave to you how much I love this book. I even preferred it to book 1. Russian and Royally Complicated gives the reader so much! This author duo is at it again. Writing novels with intrigue, animosity, sexual chemistry/tension, books that keep you guessing with little surprises thrown in. Which is exactly where this novel lands the reader right in the middle of all that. I couldn’t put it down and I wanted so much more.
Lev and Daphne have so much judgment and animosity towards each other, that they neglect to see what’s in front of them. That animosity just keeps building till it explodes, which I as the reader was waiting for. It’s the obstacles and the navigation after that explosion, which kept me reading and wanting more.
I’ve come across characters in books I’ve enjoyed in the past, but never as much as how these two are written together and apart. Their human qualities are very relatable everyday issues with just a little more substance.
One of my favorite authors strikes again and I actually like her work as a duo just as much as individual work. It’s the other author that I’m falling in love with! The two of them together bring you wonderful stories like this one.
Do you have to read book 1, ehh not really but you should! It works well as a standalone novel, however book one will give you more in depth knowledge of the supporting cast. So get to reading!
