This book has everything. It is a young adult book, so teens are the main characters, aside from the title character. There is a quinceanera, so readers learn a bit about this special tradition for young Latina women. There are some serious issues that teens (and even adults, too) deal with. I really liked how the author handled this sensitive subject matter.
