Ross (Central Florida Stories Book 4) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Shea Gilkerson

Ross: Central Florida StoriesRoss: Central Florida Stories by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ross had always loved Hadley, but worried he was no good for her. He was so concerned about protecting her from himself that first, he enlisted, and then, he watched her ride off on the back of his little brothers Harley. He never forgot her, though – and he never stopped pining for her.

Four years after watching her back disappear on that bike, he is surprised to get a letter from Hadley. She’s begging for his help to rescue her daughter from a MC gang that is dangerous, and Ross realizes as his protective instincts kick in that he plans to save them both.

Hadley has had many things happen to her in the past 4 years and has built nearly impenetrable walls to protect herself and her spirit – but she adores her daughter and would do anything to protect her. When she starts thinking of how to save her, she thinks of Ross and what a gentle giant and caretaker he always was.

After rescuing the woman he loves, he realizes it is going to take a lot of soothing, protecting, loving and supporting to get Hadley to open up to him and it’s just what his Daddy Dom heart desires. As he’s keeping her safe from those who mean to shut her up for good, will he help her heal her heart?

TWISTED PROPOSAL (CENTRAL FLORIDA STORIES BOOK 3) BY VICTORIA SACCENTI – REVIEW BY SHEA GILKERSON

Twisted Proposal (Central Florida Stories)Twisted Proposal by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First, you can read this as a standalone novel, but you’re doing yourself a disservice to not go back and read the first entries by this author. Her writing style is enjoyable no matter the level of intensity throughout the story she is weaving.

Ethan is from a wealthy family who has mostly taken his own path, but it doesn’t make him any less rich and entitled than if he had stayed enmeshed with them. He has dominant desires and can generally pick his conquest that would be interested in what he offered from across the room. When he gets roped into attending a gala on behalf of his father, he spies someone from across the room who gets his attention immediately.

While she proves to not be the woman who was pursuing him for his abundance and hurt him in the past, she is her sister and looks startlingly like the one who damaged him. Siena sets off Ethan’s interests and ideas the minute he sees her, and he hatches a plan for revenge. When he begins sleuthing and finds she is in a dire situation that his money can help her out of, he approaches her in hopes of enjoying her and enjoying the revenge he gets, as well. What he never counted on was her becoming so much more than an act of revenge. Steamy scenes, enemies-to-lovers, maybe a smidge of this rich boy with a grudge ending up having a heart, after all.

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan Book 3) by T. Christensen – Review by Ayla Phipps

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan #3)Cruel Truths by T. Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enemies to lovers, need I say more. This is the first book I have read by the amazing T. Christensen and yes this is the third book of the Tessa and Jordan Series, but it can be read as a standalone. I personally saw no missing information from not reading the previous two books. Enemies to lovers honestly must be my favorite trope and this book proves time and time again why I always come back to them.
Lindy Garcia has decided that she is tired of living month to month in New York and the only way she will stay and not return home to San Jose is if she finally takes the next steps in her career. When she sees the job listing to be Cade Kingsley’s personal assistant and Kingsley Marketing, she feels that it is a sign for her to stay. Instantly she is put off by how much Mr. Asshole as she refers to him is cold and controlling. Determined to get the job, she bites her tongue a few times but lets out just enough attitude and personality to garner his attention. Her biggest concern is what does “whatever he wants” really mean? Cade Kingsley has too much on his plate and needs someone that can take some of it but do it the way he wants it handled. Ms. Garcia is different, she has something more to her that gives her fight, passion. From the moment she first stepped up and helped he knew she would be his it was only a matter of time. Lindy has a moment in her official interview, for just a brief second, he looks at her lips and she has a physical reaction she doesn’t expect but after years of perfecting her emotions she hides it well. She is not so easily won over and she will not be controlled by a bully.
She wins over the boss to get the job but is she able to keep it? Is he victorious in winning her over and making her his? The world was so encompassing I could feel what the characters were feeling and yes when the moment called for it tears were shed. The characters pain and growth being natural and genuine. Lindy is not some sweet, docile woman that will blindly follow a man or be controlled even if he is her boss. Cade while used to being the alpha of alpha males shows he can soften even if just a little bit. I couldn’t put this book down once I started, chapter one honestly was hook line and sinker within the first couple of pages. Not many strong women shine in enemy to lover stories they tend to be more docile to the alpha males, but this book was the perfect blend of strength and weakness on both sides.

Wow. Cade and Lindy just might be my newest favorite couple. I absolutely love them! I love how they met, I love their chemistry. I
Love how Lindy hated him and called him Mr A Hole for so long. I really did love Cade from the very beginning even in all his grumpiness. This book had everything that I love. Enemies to lovers. Lots of heat, super strong female MC and make MC that love hard when they fall. Even when they try to fight their feelings. When Cade runs his mouth after Lindy tries to do something nice, he might lose her for good. Love love loved this book!!!

Gumshoe Goes To a Quinceanera is book 2 in the Gumshoe Mysteries and I loved this story. The magic is back with a murder mystery with Mia and the lovable Gumshoe the cat. This book was easy to read, fun and hard to put down…..I devoured this book! I would very highly recommend reading book 1 in the series as you get to know the characters from the beginning.

Mia and her “squad” were all invited to attend a Quinceanera for their friend Tiffany. Beautiful dresses, wonderful food, dancing and friendships should be the focus…but someone is murdered during this beautiful event. Who is bold enough to take a life during a Quinceanera? Mia and Gumshoe are piecing together clues on whom may be responsible for this act….but this is not the first murder on their minds as Gumshoe was a witness to another prior….are both of these murders tied to each other for some reasons? Will Gumshoe and Mia be able to solve the mystery before anyone else is hurt? Will Mia’s promise also to help Gumshoe piece together his own past life come with any clues..

Definitely read and find out. I am really hoping for another book in this series….

Lindy, an aspiring fashion designer with big dreams comes across a posting for a job as a personal assistant in a big time company that could open up her future in fashion.
She attends the interview only to find her potential boss Cade is a giant ahole!! Rude, intimidating, domineering he pushes every button Lindy has and causes her usual ability to smile and fake it to falter. Lindy really needs this job to continue to support her family and they are her number one priority so she signs on as Cades personal assistant doing as he puts it “whatever he requires” but the chemistry is nothing short of electric.
What happens when Lindy and Cade fake a relationship as part of the latest business deal? Is the chemistry brewing between them going to light? Or will their ability to work together and succeed come crashing down. Can these two be honest about what they are feeling or will Lindy jeopardize her entire future in fashion and walk away forever
Great fast paced story don’t miss it!

Wonderful YA cozy mystery that I enjoyed so much! This is my first book I have read by this author and I really loved this story. I love the mix of magic, mystery, murder, witches, secrets and intrigue. Already to dive into book 2….I am so glad I read this story….what a treat.

Mia is a typical 15 year old..or so she thinks. She finds out by her mother and a few of her mother’s friends, that she is a witch. This surprises Mia in so many ways and was eager to learn more what this really means but also finds a friend in a cat she has been feeding at her family’s restaurant. When Mia finds out that her feline friend is special, Mia and Gumshoe create this bond. Gumshoe has a story but trying to piece it all together on where he came from, Gumshoe and Mia work together to piece together his past life. While Mia helps at her family’s new restaurant, Forbidden Fruit, she eagerly waits on opening night to help out her father in the kitchen to help with a successful first night….but something horrible happens as patrons become sick at the end of the evening and even creates chaos as some patrons pass away. With her family name at stake and their new restaurant, Mia tries to find out whom may be responsible for these deaths that were caused by a very poisonous mushroom. Will Mia and Gumshoe be able to solve this mystery before more lives are lost? Will Gumshoe find out what happened with his past life?

Definitely read and find out! This is a great story..

When We Fell Again by Julie Archer – Review by Megan Pesek

When We Fell AgainWhen We Fell Again by Julie Archer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Some relationships are doomed to fail until those involved grown up. Alexis and Jordan have a deep past, but haven’t seen each other in years until Lex is tasked with managing the tour for Jordan’s band. Old feelings and chemistry are palpable during the tour, but neither is sure if it’s the right answer. In the end, they have to decide if ghosts of the past or a chance to start fresh will win.

Jordan went through a lot of trauma and change throughout the book. He matured not only in his relationships, but also as a person. Alexis is driven, but rarely puts herself first. There were some heavy topics, but it was well written into the storyline. I was hooked on this book early and it never let up.

Vanishing Day (Logan McKenna Series Book 4) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Betsy Melano

Vanishing Day: A Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller Logan Book 4 (Logan McKenna Series)Vanishing Day: A Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller Logan Book 4 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m really enjoying reading the Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller series. I was lucky enough to start from the beginning of this series.
Vanishing Day is about a subject that might be hard for some to understand. Being abused by your husband is not what anyone expects to happen to them. I’m sure getting out of that situation can be very difficult. I appreciate the way the author portrayed Lori and her daughter Shannon’s situation and what Lori is trying to do for her daughter.
Overall, like the other Logan McKenna stories, the author does a great job of world and character building. There are many twists and turns in the story which keeps things interesting. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Shirl and Eee-aah are on another adventure. This time, Eee-aah wants to introduce Shirl to her favorite snack, Zibs. When they locate some, Shirl tries one without paying for it. Baa-Kerr is not pleased and choses to keep Shirl working since she stole from him.

It’s no secret that Lois Wickstrom is one of my favorite authors!! Her stories are great by themselves but add in that there is always some sort of Science/STEM component and that makes them even better! The illustrations are also extremely well done in her books.

I highly recommend this book, along with all her others, for any home library, daycare, school, grandparent’s house, etc!

The Earl, Her Reluctant Guardian by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Shannon Fowler

The Earl, Her Reluctant GuardianThe Earl, Her Reluctant Guardian by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Pretty good story for my first book by this author. Historical romance is always a sweet fade to black kind of love story. Much too mild for my liking, but still good. This book has different story lines that I would think would cause confusion, but Woodson writes in such a way that each developing story was easy to follow, even when they began to connect and overlap.

Main character, The Earl himself, comes across as an adult, a grown man too old for shenanigans. While his reluctant guardian, Vanessa, the other main character, seems to attract trouble, or at least she is always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Recommend this innocent historical romance with a twist.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was so pleasantly surprised by this story! From the very beginning, the author draws you in with suspense and intrigue. You’ll also find yourself drawn to the main character, Vanessa, from the first pages. She is such a wonderful character with amazing strength displayed as she is figuring out her life through the book as she returns home following the death of her uncle to find her uncle’s wife running the show. Jacob is also there and not so keen on being responsible for Vanessa..or is he?

Though this is a historical romance, the story also has a great deal of suspense and a paranormal twist, all making it very difficult to put down. The setting and concept was so intriguing and just not what I expected, but I loved this story! It was very well written and engaging and I highly recommend it.

You and Me Equals Love by Marina Hanna – Review by Jennifer Gordon

You and Me Equals LoveYou and Me Equals Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and entertaining contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Kate and Jenny have been best friends since they were sixteen, and for ten years they have been through thick and thin together, but then a boy came between them. The storyline follows Kate’s journey which includes many trials and tribulations, whilst her past experiences have left her with a fear of relationships and trust issues. Kate then falls in love, although she’s done everything she can to avoid doing so, but has to decide if she will trust her boyfriend or her best friend. I found the characters likeable and relatable and I liked how the story was told through the multiple characters POV, which made me feel more engaged with them. I liked how Kate’s relationship with Ben developed throughout the story and how their chemistry came across in the narrative. I did find the storyline was a bit predictable, however I felt immersed in the characters world and thought it was a fun, heartwarming and romantic read.

This book is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance. It is fun, engaging and enjoyable from start to finish. I loved the connection between the main characters. They had chemistry in every interaction and it was great to see the connection develop as the book went on. The story was really well thought out. It fit the characters well and kept me invested until the end.
This is one of my favourite tropes and this author has done a great job with it. I love how every book I read by them is different from the last. It keeps it interesting and refreshing. This is a well written and great story that I would highly recommend.

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan #3)Cruel Truths by T. Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this story. Grumpy boss and enemies to lovers tropes are one of my favorites and this one covered all those bases. So many times I was angry, frustrated or irritated at the male lead. He drove me crazy just like he did Lindy. In fact, a couple times I really didn’t understand why she stayed. I really liked Lindy. She is determined, smart, sassy and doesn’t put up with his guff. I don’t know how she did it day after day and time after time dealing with him, but kudos to her. I suppose it could be the intense sexual attraction that they have with each other. I mean OFF the Charts!

The story is amazing in the respect of the dreams, the hopes and the desires that are played out. It has many ups and downs and drama filled moments that filled my heart or made it go pitter-pat. This is one that can be reread and enjoyed.

This is the third in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. There is mention of characters and situations that we see from the first two books, but it doesn’t really interfere with this story. So grab it and enjoy

Enemies to lovers is my absolute FAVORITE trope!! So I had to read this one! I’m not sure why but I love the toxic type when it comes to my books. The push and pull just has me on the edge and I love the torture. The angst, the drama, the hate, the love…give it all to me! And that’s what this book did. I enjoyed every page! Great characters with great character development and I just all around enjoyed this read. I haven’t read the others before this book…but I’ll definitely be doing that now. So good.

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan #3)Cruel Truths by T. Christensen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Tessa and Jordan series, it can be read as a standalone read which is great. I loved this story, the author does an amazing job with the characters making them feel realistic. I especially felt a connection with Lindy. She is a fun person who loves her family and is prepared to stand up for herself when she needs to. I love how she wasn’t afraid to stand up to Cade even when he was dominant and intimidating she didn’t back down.
The chemistry between them is electric pretty much from the beginning but the dynamic of Cade being her boss and Lindy really needing her job to support her family put road blocks in their way.
This story is a push and pull enemies to lovers romance. There is a thin line between love and hate and this story definately goes back and forwards over that line which leaves you wondering if they will ever get together and embrace their true feelings.

Cade already knew from the moment he met her that Lindy was the woman for him but will she ever come around and see that for herself? Should you ever mix a business relationship with pleasure? And when an opportunity comes along where they fake a relationship what happens when those fake feelings become real? With no escape and a lot of time spent in Cades company will Lindy be able to keep denying the connection she feels? Will Lindy ever fulfill her dream of getting her own fashion line? Will her connection with Cade help or hinder her dreams?

This was a fast paced read that I loved and I was completely invested in this couples story as they navigate the path ahead of them.

Kurt used to spend a lot of time in his club, Club Nexxus. After serving in the military and coming home suffering from PTSD, he began to lose interest. But one day while checking in, he saw a face he never thought he’d see again – Arely, the little sister of his best childhood friend. He had heard the path his old friend had taken and couldn’t believe it. He was just surviving until he saw her again, especially when he learned she was working in his club to stay hidden from the cartel for her protection.

Arely was involved in human trafficking. The secrets she learned there can be very dangerous for the people running the ring, so once she got out she went into hiding. Bartending in a private club offers a lot of protection in the form of the company knowing everyone who comes in and out, security, and the dim bar makes her feel protected, as well. When she sees Kurt there one day, she can’t believe she is seeing him again. When she is located at Club Nexxus, will she survive? Will she ask for help? Will Kurt help her?

Steamy read, wonderful character building, great chemistry. This is a standalone but the enjoyable writing shines through.

Cruel Truths (Tessa and Jordan Book 3) by T. Christensen – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the first book that I have read from this author. I can tell you that I cried during part of it because it was just so overwhelming and heartbreaking. Lindy Garcia, an inspiring clothing designer lands a job as a PA (Personal Assistant) to Cade Kingsley ( the owner of Kingsley Marketing). Little does she know that this job could have a lasting impact on her and her future. Just watch out for some of the conversations that they have because they are not your typical business conversations that you would have your boss, especially if you really need the job. Does Lindy have a job at the end of the book? The answer to this question is simple but I really don’t want to spoil the book for you. I promise its one you will not want to put down until you are finished reading it. Even after you finish reading it, you will want to read it again. I will warn you again about the emotional toll that Lindy and Cade go through personally. There are moments that you may want to hurt one more than the other but just remember that this a just a book and not reality.

This is the story of both one but two women and their men. This is a case of best friends, dating best friends. I can’t even say whose story I like better as they were both equally well done. Well, the story is good but I wasn’t a huge fan of the execution. It does a lot of bouncing around from past to present. I think the story would’ve been as equally powerful, just starting in the past and working your way to the present and current situations. I have read this author’s stories before, and always enjoy them. This one just seems to be a one off for me. Overall, it’s an entertaining story about a couple girls who find their guy and hopefully a forever after.

Cruel Truths is book three in the Tessa and Jordan series by this Author. I Unfortunately, did not read the first two books but I was still able to follow along this story. If you like Enemies to lovers and Contemporary romance this series is for you. Lindy is a fashion designer and just moved and she now has this mean new boss Cade. He really knows how to push her buttons and that drives Lindy crazy. I feel like Lindy having to play Cade’s Fake girlfriend might of softened her heart a little. You will have to read this book to find out how it plays out. I Really enjoyed following Cade and Lindy through their journey. I highly Recommend this book. You will fall in love with the Charaters of this series they are wonderful to read about. Thanks again to this Author for a great read and i look forward to read more books by you.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cruel Truths: A Grumpy Boss is the third book in T. Christensen’s Tessa and Jordan series. This enemies to lovers forced proximity tale is fun and engaging. Even though it is part of this series it can be read as a standalone.
Vanessa left it all behind to follow her dream but is it worth it all when one’s boss is an insufferable alpha a’hole. She just has to pull up her big girl panties and work through it. Right? And the fun begins.
Cade knew she was meant to be his right from the start, but she has other ideas. What she doesn’t realise is that it is only a matter of time before she will be his. Bring it on!
They say there is a fine line between hate and love, and I loved the push pull that was between the characters. I loved the barbs, the wit, the banter and everything in between, all in the name of love.
It has a myriad of emotions, frustration, drama, anger, angst, hopes, dreams and sizzling chemistry that make it easy to read.
I am not going to spoil all the fun for you so you will have to give it a read to find out what happens.

I can’t get enough of this series! I hope there are many more books to come! In a weird way it reminds me of my hometown, well without the supernatural aspects! Reggi Dupree got it oh so perfectly right, definitely my newest favorite author! After reading book one it was so easy to fall right back into Hoodoo! I utterly enjoy the humor and wonderful characters she creates. Her characters are relatable, entertaining, and unpredictable in the best ways! I definitely laughed a lot and went on such a fun adventure with Gwen and the rest of Hoodoo Texas! I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who wants a fun and quirky read that you will never forget!

Killer Smile by Allan Evans – Review by M Policicchio

Killer SmileKiller Smile by Allan Evans
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing thrillride that keeps you guessing. There are soooooo many serial killers in this book. The whole idea of a dark website where the killers go to brag and talk to each other is fascinating.

After killing a local serial killer, Detective Cade Dawkins received a tip that on a dark website there had been a challenge issued. The challenge was to try to stump the detective. With this, two serial killers rolled into town and started hunting and leaving bodies to be found.

Cade is put in charge of a taskforce to capture these killers. He selects a ragtag bunch of folks to help him. In the end, each person’s unique quirks made them right for the taskforce and added in figuring out who the killers were.

So many twists and turns with non-stop action. Excellent read! Original and fresh.
