Eek! I love this series so much. I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. First off the cover is so beautiful. Immediately catches the eye. Secondly I love the romances in the story and how we see them thrive in each book. Alice is probably my Favorite character so far. She’s the black sheep of the family and has a lot on her shoulders bearing that weight. It was great seeing her growth and putting down roots. Definitely a good read!

Winter Austin perpetually answers the question: “were you born in the winter?” with a flat “nope,” but believe her, there is a story behind her name.

A lifelong Mid-West gal with strong ties to the agriculture world, Winter grew up listening to the captivating stories told by relatives around a table or a campfire. As a published author, she learned her glass half-empty personality makes for a perfect suspense/thriller writer. Taking her ability to verbally spin a vivid and detailed story, Winter translated that into writing deadly romantic suspense, mysteries, and thrillers.

When she’s not slaving away at the computer, you can find Winter supporting her daughter in cattle shows, seeing her three sons off into the wide-wide world, loving on her fur babies, prodding her teacher husband, and nagging at her flock of hens to stay in the coop or the dogs will get them.

She is the author of multiple novels, with more on the way.

In this day and age with UFOs and UAPs being seen by military personnel and civilians alike, it seemed only appropriate that I include them in my latest book, “Sarge.” ETs, extraterrestrial beings, have been a part of my life for many years now. I have talked with many and have taken pictures of UFOs with my phone’s camera. You can see three of them on the cover. I was lucky, I guess, that the soul of a dear friend of mine cared to share her deepest fantasies with me and gave me permission to write them as I saw fit. It was a nice fit since I love to write soul’s stories. All of my books include the story of at least one soul. My lifetime work has been to help souls heal and arrive at the destination here that most fit them and their particular gifts thus helping their human hosts heal as well. I hope you have enjoyed my books and have shared them with your friends.

Over her shoulder, Vanessa viewed The Academy for Young Ladies fading in the distance behind the carriage. Turning forward with a sigh of relief, she relaxed. She could hardly wait to catch her first glimpse of Hill House again.

Upon her arrival, she never expected to have her guardian residing in her home. If she considered him at all, she imagined him in the background, guarding her interest from afar as he had in the past. Nor did she expect to find her aunt by marriage apparently in charge of the household. Adding to her dismay, her aunt’s relatives were dwelling in Hill House as well.

Most disturbing of all, Vanessa found signs of a ghost dwelling in the house too, filling her with unease and dread.

Faking the Fall (Buckeye Falls Book #4) by Libby Kay – Review by Angela Hayes

Faking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls NovelFaking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Faking the Fall is the fourth book in the Buckeye Falls series by Libby Kay. How gorgeous is this cover??? It is definitely my favourite of the whole series- so far. This is the fourth book in the series, but as each instalment focuses on its own particular couple, the books can be read as standalones. But, having said that, there is a cast of recurring characters who really add to the overall reading experience, and are really worth getting to know. So, I recommend starting at the beginning, if you haven’t already- because all the books together equals a lot of fun!
This is another sweet small town contemporary romance- with a fake dating element, drama, a wonderful cast of endearing characters, humour, connection, emotion, expectations, family, friendship, and interesting developments. It is a ‘clean’ romance- suitable for those who prefer their romances on the sweet and less spicy side.
Ms. Kay knows how to weave a heart-warming story and I have enjoyed quite a few of them, so after reading the other three books, I happily snapped up a copy of this as soon as it released- and found it was just as charming and touching as I had expected.
Alice has quite the reputation – her wild child ways have made her the talk of the town. She hopes to put that all behind her when she returns to follow her business dreams. James is a bit if a struggling artist and is fairly new to town. He has lost his inspiration and without it his artist creativity has also dried up. But fate sees that they cross paths.. They have their own agendas here, but working together just might solve both their problems- so they come up with a plan- so let the fake dating begin. What happens makes for a fun read.
Not sure if there is more in store for us in Buckeye Falls- but I certainly hope this isn’t the last we see of Buckeye Falls and all the endearing, quirky characters who help to bring these stories, and Buckeye Falls, to life.. I’m holding out hope for more instalments.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Libby Kay!

4 Stars

You and Me Equals Love by Marina Hanna is a contemporary romance with a little drama, trust issues, doubts, emotion, friendship, banter, fun, spice, and just enough angst to keep things interesting.
Even though the story was a little predictable, it was still a fun read that entertained me the whole way through. We follow Kate and Ben through some highs and lows, as they take a chance on love.
Worth the read!
I wonder what Ms. Hanna has in store for us next?

Faking the Fall (Buckeye Falls Book 4) by Libby Kay – Review by Beverly Finnie

Faking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls NovelFaking the Fall: A Buckeye Falls Novel by Libby Kay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Welcome back to Buckeye Falls, and they are under a hurricane warning. That Hurricane being Hurricane Alice. The prodigal child has returned and decided to stay in Faking the Fall. She officially came back in Anthony and Natalie’s story.
And since I’m referencing it, yes I’ve read it. I love this series. These books work very well as standalone novels, but I feel like they are so much better reading them in succession. This author created a wonderful world. Beautifully difficult characters that you can relate to. Difficult meaning with each other. Now back to our current story.
Alice’s parents want her to take her place in the Snyder family. Settle down, find a husband, hold a job that utilizes all her degrees, and step up to help her family with their political duties. Reality she’s still trying to find herself and this book is her path to self discovery. But perhaps a future too?
James, is starting over. Moving to a small town to rebuild his life. Lending a hand when needed but still the artist that left New York broken. He’s another character who is trying to find himself again. Which is impacting his true passion. His art, being a well known artist. Until one day he’s memorized by this girl with beautiful green eyes. And now the town folks are talking. Stating he’s getting cozy with the mayor’s sister Alice.
Is that what he wants?
Well you are just going to have to read and find out. See the journey these two go on individually as well as together. Sometimes two lost or broken souls are just what’s needed to heal.
And honestly you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy it!

Ignite My Heart (North Fork Series Book 2)

I was able to finish this book in just a day even with having to work. I had a hard time putting it down and found myself sneaking a page or two when I had a minute.

Morgan and Blake’s introduction made me laugh out loud but thankfully I wasn’t in the office at the time so it wasn’t necessary to come up with an excuse.

I adored Morgan, Blake and Ciara from the moment I met them and that grew the further I got into it. So many little things made me smile, mostly the moments with Ciara.

I have noted when the next book is released and will be ready to read.

This may be my favorite of the series! I have loved the other three, but reading about and getting to know Alice more was wonderful! Alice is back in Buckeye Falls and living with her parents after a breakup. She has a partime job at the library and works some for her sister in law, but she is still living at home and not sure what to do next. James is a big shot artist from New York who decided to leave the city and move to the small town after his divorce. He has not been painting and has not had any creativity until he sees Alice at the library one day. Alice meets James at the town council meeting and propositions him with a fake dating scenario to get the nosy town off her back. He agrees because he wants to spend more time with her. This was a clean romance with all the feels! I loved the characters, I love the setting of the small town, and I finished this book in a day!

Faking the Fall is book #4 in the Buckeye Falls series and it was everything that I love about this series. love, banter, fake dating, meddling townfolk, small town sweet romance and just overall great story. While this book could be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning to get to know the characters that are in each book.

What can honestly happen with a proposition of “fake dating”….beside maybe getting the gossip crew to back off only having good intentions. Alice is back in Buckeye Falls trying to figure out her next steps in life. Having a reputation to hold up being the mayor’s brother and parents who are busy with town social events…..never thought to meet someone that gives her some spark. James is new to town already embracing his life in Buckeye Falls…but also trying to piece together his life after a divorce and hoping to get a spark of inspiration again in his art. When James meets a green eyed beauty in Alice…the inspiration starts…..When the gossip train comes barreling in…..Alice proposes to James to “fake date”….but what happens when true feelings come into play…….

Definitely read and find out!! You will not be disappointed.

This book put all those fears to rest instantaneously as it sucked me back into the Hidden Valley Elite world. This one picks up to tell Phoenix and Aspen’s story, and it is not one you want to miss! There is drama, angst, and all the steam that comes together to create the perfect story. The flow is again, flawless, and I am beyond excited to see what the author has in store for us next. I’ve been seeing these Notebook Mysteries stories for the past year and have read such great reviews that I’ve finally decided to give them a try. I’m such a big fan of mysteries so I had a feeling I’d really like them. This is my first Notebook Mysteries read! It was a great feeling to jump into this story of the series without feeling left out from previous story details. With Christmas festivities in their midst and an unsuspected party in Chicago close to a family wedding, Emma becomes suspicious as to why this party is happening. Her suspicions take her on a quest of answers as to the sudden occurrence of the party when it typically happens elsewhere. She trusts her gut feeling that leaves her to some answers! It was such a great read and I’m looking forward to reading others in the series.

No marriage, no grandkids until she see the elusive artist in town. Then she starts thinking and seeing a different future for herself. Watching Alice change and grow and delightful to observe. I definitely love that these books feature fantastic dialogue and a main character who is always finding herself in the middle of an adventure. One thing I will say is that Laura Hawks knows how to write a plot that keeps you guessing. I definitely loved the element of suspense that was found throughout. This was an absolutely fantastic book and I love how Laura Hawks has further developed both Mia and Gumshoe from the first book. I felt like there was more character depth in this book than in the first one. I definitely am looking forward to continuing this series!

This is a fantastic start to a new teen mystery series. It features Mia who is an absolutely amazingly well written character. She is intelligent and gifted. Gumshoe is not exactly who you would expect – he is a cat – who has an incredibly complicated past and a really fun sense of humor. These two have fantastic dialogue that drives the plot. Even though this is a teen book I found myself deeply enjoying the story. It is a great mystery that keeps you guessing but with characters that keep you laughing. It is truly a fun read that I will be recommending to everyone I know. I definitely cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Wild For Me
By: Tam DeRudder Jackson

Once again Tam DeRudder Jackson has written a fantastic book. I have read each and every one of the books of the Balefire Series so far and each one is better than the next. Tam DeRudder Jackson does a fantastic job developing characters who are believable but who are also rock stars. She shows the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll in all of its glory and does it in such a way that you look at the characters and feel like they are incredibly relatable. The characters in Balefire so far have been so well developed that I truly feel like I know them on a personal level.
These books are each written as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading each and every one. There is some character overlap between books. Also and perhaps most importantly – if you miss a book you are really missing an essential piece to Balefire. Tam DeRudder Jackson has really created a crazy yet wonderful world around this band and I definitely recommend going along for the full ride. I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book!

Trust me when I say you will not want to put it down once you start reading. Marina Hanna has a fantastic ability in developing her characters. They are definitely portrayed incredibly realistically – especially with how it comes to our two main characters. Ethan and Olivia are very entertaining and are the perfect characters to portray finding live when you least expect it. This isn’t your typical romance and it really contains enough for everyone.
