I have enjoyed reading the Logan McKenna Series which I have been reading in order starting from the first book. Along the way I’ve come to really like Logan and all of her friends. In this book, we not only find Logan helping to solve a crime but we learn about raptor center where Logan is volunteering. The author does a great job of world and character building throughout the book.
WOAH!!!! I truly have never read something like this! I couldn’t put this down! I thought the story was original. There was a lot going on throughout the story but in the best way possible, I would’t have it any other way. I am pretty sure got whiplash a few times.

The Men of Eden Cove Manor is a MM Paranormal Romance with mystery, intrigue, suspense, action, danger, vampires, demons, and supernatural elements. Set around Halloween adds to the spooky, mysterious, creepy vibe of the story which centers around the characters of Lucifer and Mordecai. These two characters had their own unique quirks and personalities, and I was completely drawn into their worlds as they told their story from their own POV. Lucifer is impulsive, bold, reckless, and determined to live life on his own terms. When he hears about a mystery surrounding the men of a local manor he is determined to investigate and find out what all the fuss is about. According to locals, the manor is creepy, and they are terrified to go anywhere near it. Lucifer sees this as a challenge and while the men of the manor are away at a party he decides to break into the manor and explore. As he does so he gets more than he bargained for when he makes a startling discovery. Not only that, but Lucifer does not go unnoticed by Mordecai, one of the men at the manor. Mordecai is dangerous, cunning, and determined to toy with Lucifer as punishment for violating his privacy and trespassing in his home. Neither men are willing to back down from the challenge nor are either expecting to be attracted to the other. The ensuing story is full of blackmail, centuries old secrets, humor, witty banter, romance, and chemistry. Another amazing book by one of my favorite authors!

Alongside the charming narrative, Dressler weaves in themes of family and the power of love. The story serves as a reminder that Christmas is not just about presents and decorations, but about the connections we make with others and the gratitude we express for the people in our lives.
I did have to chuckle that Christmas “doesn’t feel right without snow,” where I live, we are lucky to get rain, no less snow!

I really looked forward to my next book by this author as I have really come to appreciate her writing style. This book was everything I hoped it would be. It was fun, entertaining but had a great story line with a well-developed main character. I was pulled into the story right from the start and could not put it down until I had finished. I loved the premise of the book. It had such a fun feeling to it right from the word go and for me that made it all the more easier to connect with. The author knew exactly how to grab my attention and keep it! This book is everything I have come to expect from this author and it only makes me want to read more of her work. I am looking forward to the next book.

The description for this book intrigued me from the moment I read it and I knew I had to give this book a go. This was a new author to me so I really didn’t know what to expect when I started reading. The book was well written and had a great concept at its core. The description made it sound like the characters only met when they were older so I liked that I learnt this wasn’t the case. I found myself really engaging with the characters. I loved watching their journey unfold as the book progressed. The author tells their story so well and I found the whole experience to be enjoyable. This was a great introduction to a new author and I am looking forward to discovering more.

Another great book by Naomi Valkyrie! A short, quick read that I was able to finish in one evening. It didn’t feel rushed. I liked the two povs. You could really get to know both Lucifer and Mordecai better. Full of mystery, m/m romance, humor and supernatural, I was definitely impressed. I recommend this fast read.

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler is a fun contemporary feel-good holiday romance tale. Sarah is a new author to me and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a wonderful small-town romance with lots of feels, drama, humour, and mystery and a little spice. It was easy to lose myself in this story, that I was engrossed in from beginning to end. The cast of many eclectic and quirky characters had me laughing, cringing and loving them all. Sarah has done a great job writing them and bringing them to life. What better way to kick off the season than to visit the small-town Christmas Cove. With a name like that you would think it would be overflowing with evergreens, lights and smells of Christmas. Right? America will do anything for the small town she has grown so fond of and right now she needs to be tenacious, stronger and clever to save it all. What was once just a story has become so much more. This is a fun, entertaining and festive read that will appeal to many. I am looking forward to the next book from Sarah.

Once again this author has put out an exciting learning story. So many things were discovered in this story. Science, siblings, a mothers love, as well as peer pressure. Yes, even peer pressure is amongst the Warbler and Cuckoo. This is such a cute story. It is well written and fun to read to children. So many questions to be answered as well as things to discover. This story is well rounded and complete. The pictures are self explained and cute to look at. I am looking forward to the next book put out by this author.
The Christmas Carousel (The Brass Ring Series Book 2) by K. L. Small. This is such an imaginative read for young kids. Its the 2nd book in The Brass Ring Series and it was so good. Its the continuing story of Rusty and his magic ring his grandpa gave him. The only problem is the Carousel is shut down for the winter. While at the mall with his mom he finds a Christmas Carousel and decides to ride all the different animals. The problem is the Carousel costs money and he doesn’t have any. He takes o the job of shoveling snow to earn money so that he can ride the Christmas Carousel and buy his families gifts. Each animal he rides teaches him something new about the meaning of Christmas. He learns how to budget his money so that he can do both things, ride the carousel and buy his family gifts. Such a good educational read that would make a great gift.

This book is one heck of an adventure. I found that the adventure just grabs you from the beginning. Troy is still my favorite character. He’s trying to adjust from being out of prison and finds himself fighting a war. Non-stop action, great dialogue, intriguing characters all make for a winner. The narrator does a fantastic job of making you feel like you are right there listening to the story, right in the middle of the action. This is one of my favorite authors. She writes in such a way that you feel like you’ve been on an adventure also.

What a sweet, romantic story. I love her name. America is a good name for a strong woman. She just doesn’t quite realize she is as strong as she is. She takes over bringing Christmas Cove back. Leo is okay but he’s not getting much done. I enjoyed their chemistry and flirting. This is a sweet holiday story that is a quick read and will have you chuckling at the misadventures such as an appropriated tree from another county (a minor crime) by some senior citizens and the mayor. I loved the story and the characters. Now we need a story on Pa and Scrooge McCarol.

Mark Sutherland is a man who is chasing his dreams, he works as a reporter for the Chicago Tribune and has a keen sense of adventure and this job is the perfect one because he can travel and work all at the same time. After a childhood filled with upheaval. he has always had the itch to keep moving and chasing the next adventure, but he has one which has lasted the longest, however the newspaper he is working for has other ideas and so he goes where the news takes him.
Just when he is starting to feel antsy, the editor asks him to travel to a small town in middle America to investigate a story which could be extraordinary if proven, however, when he gets there, it isn’t quite the story he imagined, but it wasn’t a wasted trip as he meets someone who leads him to his next adventure. As soon as he sends his articles to his editor, he sets off to an exciting venture where he learns something new about the world and how it is changing to meet the new demands as a new century is on the horizon.
At long last, he receives the news that his biggest dream has finally been accepted and he gets to follow his heart to the arctic frontier to follow the gold rush, but the caveat is that he has to make his travels into a series. This is more than exciting news and Mark goes home so that he can prepare and spend some time with his family before his dream comes true.
He finalises his plans and sets off northwards and the start of his journey, he writes about every step of the way, as well as meeting new people and gauging their reasons for taking the same journey and some even become friends as the harsh reality of life in this unforgiving environment hits, but will he survive the elements and bring back the articles and gold home with him, or will he succumb to the wilds? This is a fast-paced historical adventure which takes you through America and into the Canadian wilderness as you follow the gold rush fever and see it through the eyes of those following it.

Another great book by Heidi Stark. Warning: this book includes graphic violence and sex scenes, and references of abuse/assault that some readers may experience as triggering. I do recommend reading the other books prior to this one just to clarify some of the back story line. This is another dark romantic book complete with suspense… with danger, dramatic developments, tension, raw and gritty details, violence, murder, action, chemistry, sexiness, emotion, and intensity. Angel and her gang are back for another suspense story. Once you start it you can’t put it down because you need to know how it’s going to end, one of the best books I’ve read in this series so far.

Fantastic, steamy and ultimate page turner. Jamacia a college student with lots of sass is partnered up with the most unlikely English partner a girl could ever be assigned. Shes convinced her professor hates her and this decision is the icing on the cake. Along comes Callahan O’Reilly the blue-eyed beautiful football player that has all the girls drooling. Just one look at O’Reilly and Jamacia is Hot all over. She wants nothing to do with any jocks let alone O’Reilly, but there’s just something about him that she can’t quite ignore, and that leaves Jamacia hotter and more bothered than ever.

This book # 9 had lots of twist and turns, kinda of reminded me of a show hubby watches sometimes I would watch it to (Deadliest Catch) just with little twist too add to it, quick read, engaging, great storyline. I give this book 4 stars.

Jake is on another covert mission, this time trying to help stop a deadly drug ending up on the streets but when he discovers a beautiful girl on a beach and with similar resemblance to Sarah his girlfriend the case deepens and become dangerous for not just Jake but his friend and family.
As more and more is discovered and they are reaching the top of the tree can Jake keep himself, Cody his dog and everyone from the crosshairs of the gang. you will have to read to find out.
This is a great series and although I have read a few books and not all it does detract from story, these books can be read as stand alone and are well written and the story is developed brilliantly. The twists and turns have you on the end of whatever you are sitting on and will have you guessing till the end.
The character of Jake seems rough and ready but in the story you see the loyalty he shows not only to his partner, Cody his K-9 dog but to all the important people in his life and appreciates the struggles most people have. I always love a flawed hero and Jake is that with his PTSD from the marines playing a part in his daily struggles. Sarah was a great counter to Jake’s character and the love they show for each other was there on the page.
This is full of twists and turns and offers a sight into the underworld of drugs and gangs but I could not put the story down. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series and will go back and read the ones I haven’t, I forgot what a great thriller these books are.

America Greene is pretty comfortable with her life in the city, her job as an editor, and her unrequited crush on a writer at her place of work. That is until she’s sent on a writing assignment to Christmas Cove. She expects a town full of Christmas cheer and finds just the opposite, but the lovely, handsome town mayor convinces her to stay. Together, they bring Christmas back to the Cove and of course, fall in love along the way. They are two really interesting, relatable, likeable characters and I’m glad they got their happy ending. However, I do feel like even for a Christmas romance it was a little bit rushed. They seem to fall in love very quickly and speed through their relationship but either way I’m happy for their happy ever after. I really wasn’t expecting the twist towards the end of the book, and I definitely wasn’t expecting the second twist. I wish that kind of drama had started a little bit earlier in the story but it did make it very interesting. My favourite character is America and my least favourite character is John. I recommend this book because who doesn’t love a Christmas romance? It puts an interesting new twist on the trope and is full of love without being full of cliché’s. It’s also really inspiring to see a woman who has settled for being an editor when she dreams of being a writer, and her finally getting to achieve that dream. ‘Sometimes it’s hard to see what is true and good because it hides behind fear.’

What starts as a holiday romance that is ended before it really gets started turns into a happily-ever-after in the end. This is a quick, easy read with great world building and characters that you feel like could be your best friends.

I don’t know why I expect any less than the best from this author’s books. I have been sucked into this series from the very beginning. I am so very sad to see the ending in sight.
This one picks up right where Cruel Love ended, with Shane in deep doodoo. Even though most of that situation is taken care of, the dark cloud it leaves hanging over Shane isn’t. He feels guilty about what happened and it is affecting him, probably more than he realizes. When a blast from his past is sitting in the local coffee spot, Shane just about melts down. The one girl he cared about since he was 10 years old. The only problem is that she did not return his affection, she teased and tortured Shane.
Winter needed to spread her wings after living with her foster parents for 8 years. Transferring to Thane University, where her foster brother goes, is one step she is taking to reclaim some of her independence. When Winter receives a letter about her mom’s upcoming parole hearing, being back where it all happened may not be the best thing. WInter’s mom killed her sister and nearly killed Winter when she was just 10 years old. Winter’s world was in turmoil when she met Shane and she did the absolute worst thing, she was cruel to him because she was in pain and no one seemed to care.
When Winter saw him on campus, she didn’t immediately recognize him. Shane had grown up and changed in the last 10 years. Shane understood this and, as part of his revenge plan, gave Winter a fake name. When Winter finds out who Shane actually is, it brings back a flood of memories from that time and the guilt and shame of what she did to him. Before Shane has the chance to explain, things start to heat up.
I don’t know if I can wait for the next book. I don’t know if I want to read it. I mean, I completely and totally do because I need to find out who did it. But that also means that the series is over and my heart will be broken. I imagine that the book hangover from this series will include a weekend in bed with some ice cream and binging the entire series again. I want to find out. I need to find out. I don’t want to find out. Bring on Wicked Ends.
Oh just in case I didn’t spell it out, this book was brilliant.

Almost and Forever, by Angela K. Parker, was such a touching book all about loss and love. I was so enthralled with the characters as they met at the water fountain, feeling a deep pull between the two characters who met while making wishes in the wishing well. What a shock to find out that Adam (Ace), our leading male character, was there with his girlfriend, Ivory, and not with Hope (Ava). As I read deeper through the book, I got more and more invested in the lives of Hope and Adam and was rooting for a second chance at love for the poor guy who’d lost his love in the saddest way possible. As we get to see more of who Ivory was, it amazes me how much no one knew about her or what she had been planning before her tragic end. The title of this book is so appropriate, it is such an amazing story that speaks to the true romantic. I am hoping that the author will write more books like this one, it was such a refreshing change to the usual romance books that I usually read. @Brandy Rymer 11/2023

Ok, confession time. I am not a huge fan of sports romance. I ‘like’ them at times, but rarely do they really ‘connect’ with me. So imagine my surprise reading this book to come out the other end not only enjoying the story, but finding it has become my favourite of Ms. DeRudder Jackson’s books- and I have read nearly all of them. So colour me impressed to have found a sports romance that I love. Finding the End Zone is the first book in the Game Time Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. As mentioned, it is a sublime and steamy NA sports romance, with a bit of a forced proximity element, angst, emotion, drama, and college/football life. I am not going to say too much about the plot, as I don’t want to spoil it for you. But Callahan and Jamaica’s story is definitely worth the read- and the best sports romance that I have read lately. Looking forward to continuing the rest of the series, as well as whatever Ms. DeRudder Jackson does next. Happy Reading…

Grave Digger Academy III is the third engrossing story in the Grave Digger Academy series by the talented C.A. King. It follows on from the previous two Grave Digger Academy stories and continues the adventures of Makayla and all the intriguing happenings at the academy. It is a fantastic addition to the series, and I was really excited to rejoin Makayla for some more fun adventures. As with the rest of the series this is a superb YA paranormal fantasy with action, mystery, the supernatural, wonderful quirky characters, dramatic developments, tension, intrigue, danger, and plenty of twists and turns. As we discovered previously Makayla didn’t want to attend Grave Digger Academy, at all- but has had plenty of interesting adventures since she started- that’s for sure. There’s always more to Grave Digger Academy expected and, in this instalment, where Makayla is about to start her third year, things certainly get off to a very interesting start. With mysterious happenings, disappearances, stricter rules, a little mayhem, tension, magic, and more- Makayla’s third year proves to be quite memorable, in all kinds of ways. A wonderful addition to the series! Looking forward to Book #4!

The Ocean In His Veins (The Ocean Series) by A.R. Hadley is a companion novel for/with ‘Where the Ocean Meets the Sky’. It is a literary fiction/women’s fiction story with plenty of emotion, drama, angst, challenges, pain, and more. This is Cal’s story- following him from age 16 to 45. While this story did make me feel for Cal, I couldn’t help but be completely frustrated with him. There were times I wanted to reach into the story and shake him, or hit him- or both. This frustration made it hard to fully connect with him and his story. The author did a great job of crafting and developing him as a character though- so the lack of connection is on me- not for her lack of depth and development. So don’t let my opinion and lack of connection put you off grabbing a copy for yourself and making up your own mind though- I have been on a bit of a dark thriller ride of late and that maybe ‘colouring’ my opinion. As with ‘Where the Ocean Meets the Sky’, I will revisit this again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way. Happy Reading…
