Pursuit into Darkness is book 2 of a 3 book series and it brought a lot more to the story of Julia, Adam and Samuel. The development of new characters, several twists and turns and so much more. As with book 1, I am not typically drawn to vampire books, but this series is a good one and has very strong character development and a strong storyline. If you enjoy vampire books, I would highly recommend this book and this whole series. The author really puts the reader through a roller coaster of emotions in book 2 and I look forward to how it will all come to a close in book 3.

I am not normally a fan of books about vampires, but this was definitely an interesting book. The characters had very strong development and I found an immediate draw to the main character Julia and her struggles with her father and the expectation of arranged marriage, but mostly the strength she needs as she deals with the years of torment at the hand of her husband. The vampire element was intriguing and provided an interesting solution for Julia. This book does have a lot of emotional triggers, which could be difficult for some readers, but I really did enjoy the story and all the different relationships and connections between the characters. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

To Catch An Elf by Debra Parmley was not what I expected at all. It was an interesting story with romance and suspense. The characters were developed pretty well and painted a fairly strong picture of each character. As the story went on, I was drawn in more and more. I did feel that the ending was rushed, but overall, the story was good. The elf and Zeke definitely brought the creepy element to the story, but I really loved the romantic storyline between Marcie and Ted.
A heart so savage was a great ending to Ava and Kingston’s story. The conclusion was so good. I couldn’t put the book down. So many questions were answered and there was so much suspense and action. Wow. I want to say, I didn’t see that happening but I kinda did. Just not to that extent. Shocked is an understatement. This boon had it all. It was emotional, hot, and just all together crazy. I love Kingston and Ava and love how Kingston says she was always his from that day he saw her in her parents kitchen. He was like a man obsessed. I’m so glad he did what he did by stealing Ava for Carson’s debt. The last few chapters had me doing crazy. Ava is one head strong girl and is perfect for Kingston. I couldn’t picture him being with anyone else but her. I must say, I might even have a tiny soft spot for Oliver now. Another great read. I’m so glad I was able to read the savage duet. It was pure perfection

I did enjoy this novel. A story about ghosts interacting with people and enjoying life again was really a little different but fun. The author created a unique world that was vibrant and interesting, it really drew me in and kept me interested in finding out how the story ends. This story was good and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I agreed to read this book, without knowing anything except the title. Honestly, I thought I was going to be reading a quick little children’s book. Imagine my surprise when I saw the cover! This was an amazing book! It was full of mystery, romance, and suspense. At the same time, it was not graphic. The story did not open with the viewpoint of a protagonist, or a neutral viewpoint, but rather from the viewpoint of the antagonist. There was humor mixed in throughout the book. And who can resist the antics of beloved canine characters?
This book packed just as much of a punch as the first in this duet. Ava is still being held hostage by Kingston but the action starts and things begin to change as the story goes on. I found the action and family/mob drama to kind of exciting throughout the story. The spicy romance level is off the charts but there is a darkness to it. The story had a fairly smooth flow throughout the whole piece. I found the whole duet to be good overall. This is definitely mean to be read together, not as a standalone.

This is the 3rd book in A Blanche Murninghan Mystery series. I haven’t read the books previously and didn’t realise it was part of a series. The fact that this was book 3 didn’t stop my enjoyment as it is possible to read it as a standalone. This was a interesting mystery story filled with adventure, danger,hidden secrets and also a journey of self discovery as our main character Blanche learns more about her father.
When Blanche is approached by a young woman to help find her mother in Vietnam she is happy to help. While she is there she is also hoping to find out the truth about what really happened to her father all those years ago. However things won’t be straight forward and as Blanche starts her search it becomes clear that there are some things people want to remind unknown.
This story was really well written and the authors attention to detail and historical events really brought this story to life for me. I can’t wait to go back and read about the other mysteries Blanche has solved in the first 2 books.

Sweet Dreams by Claire is the second instalment of Nanette Littlestone’s Capture the Light series, and it follows Claire and Finn. Claire is passionate about baking, she wants to open her own bakery and create things made of wildly different ingredients and flavours, but she’s currently working in her parents bakery which is limited to items she deems vanilla and simple. Finn is a sailor, he’s adventurous, never stays in one place or with one person for too long. They meet, and have a bigger impact on each other than either of them expected. Claire steps out of her comfort zone, and Finn sees what he wants for the first time. It’s a cute and inspiring small town romance. It’s hard to choose a favourite or least favourite character because everyone in the book has their flaws and perfections. Claire puts everyone else’s needs before her own, but she lets her insecurities get in the way of growing relationships. Finn is kind, courageous, adventurous, but can sometimes come across as selfish. I recommend this book because it’s a sweet story about two people who never really thought they’d find love, but they do. It’s also inspiring when it comes to Claire’s condition, her insecurities around it, and her overcoming her fears. ‘There’s a lemon tang of surprise and a spicy heat, mixed with a cinnamon wind and a salty breeze that says, “You’re here; I found you.”’

This was a great 5 star read. This author has quickly become a must read for me. I really enjoyed these characters and their story pulled me right in. I like dark mafia reads and this one did not disappoint. Jay works security for the mafia and when he meets Sasha things change for him. Sasha is a spitfire and knows how to handle herself. When she gets herself in trouble will Jay be able to keep her safe? What will happen if her secret comes out? Then we get Matt and Marenah’s story. Matt is working undercover and when he meets Marenah who is Sasha’s twin sister things get interesting. Marenah also has some secrets of her own. Will they both get what they are looking for? Overall I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job with her writing on both stories. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today.

Such a good duet! This author is always a good one and I enjoy their writing style and their ability to keep me entertained throughout the whole story! The first book in the duet is centered around Damian and Bryanna. I likes both of them! Their story was fast paced with lots of action and suspense. It also has quite a bit of steamy romance! The second story in the duet was centered around Dereck and Layla! I liked this one too but not as much as the first story. There was danger and lots of drama and the steamy scenes were strong in this one too. I enjoyed both of these stories and I am looking forward to more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!

The second story focuses on Marenah and Matt. The level of difficulty for this couple multiplies 10x by throwing in Marenah’s secret. Marenah is trying to find out the people responsible for an international human trafficking ring and stop the next ‘shipment’ from leaving Chicago. Marenah believes that someone within her organization is helping the traffickers.
Marenah knows that she can’t tell Matt who she actually works for because once she does, she knows they can’t be together. Matt’s ties to criminal families won’t have him dating a cop. When Marenah lets Matt in a little, he helps her stop the traffickers but her family connections cause additional complications.
Woooha. Nonstop action and steam, twists and a few turns, new players and old alliances. Wow. From start to finish, there is so much going on. I enjoyed that even the books have overlapping scenes, they are told from different perspectives and you get a different view, more information. I can’t wait to see where things lead.

Song of Earth and Claws by Lena Abram is a high-fantasy adventure with Fae, complex world-building, drama, danger, agendas, family dynamics, challenges, and more. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Abram, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her books- but as fantasy is one of my absolute favourite genres, and the blurb sounded quite promising, I one-clicked myself a copy and dove right in. I have to be honest here, there is a LOT of information and details in this story, and the start proved to be quite slow and somewhat confusing. The story jumps right into aspects of the ‘Game’, but nothing (about the Game) is really explained enough to know how it works and what’s going on… I felt like I was starting a book in the ‘middle’ and was missing a lot of details. The flow was also slow and a bit choppy, which added another challenge to my reading experience. These issues did improve as the story unfolded, but I still struggled to stay in the ‘groove’ or invest in the character/s and the story. There were quite a few frustrating moments for me and quite a few characters that I detested or wanted to kick/shake. The underlying story had so much more potential, which for me, it just didn’t quite reach. I have been on a bit of a dark fantasy binge lately, along with some gritty thrillers thrown into the mix- so I’m really not sure if that has coloured my opinion of this book, or not. Taking that into account, I have decided to revisit it again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way about it- or if my opinion will change. So, stay tuned. But don’t let my opinion put you off reading this book, because looking at other reviews, I seem to be the only one with any issues. So, if this book interests you at all, I suggest you grab a copy and decide for yourself. Happy Reading…

I’m sitting here trying to come up with something more than WOW! This is a dark cliffhanging romance that may not be for everyone. I enjoy reading them from time to time depending on what I have been reading, always nice to change it up and this is definitely very different than the last several books I have read.
Ava and Kingston are definitely not your common characters. Ava is light where Kingston is dark. I liked Ava immediately with the fight she had in her, Kingston is a different story but there is obviously more to him than we know at this point and maybe more than he knows about himself.
Thankfully I don’t have to wait too long to read the next book, patience isn’t something I have when I’m this invested. Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

WOW! I absolutely adored every single page of this marvelous dark romance! I had only read one book by this author before, but it had blown me away so much that I clearly remember their name when this one popped up. There was zero hesitation in giving this book a chance. There is so much drama, suspense, angst and all the steamy scenes throughout and I may have yelled at Kingston a time or two. Reading about him and Ava had me feeling every emotion under the sun. I also like that the author included a playlist which always intrigues me. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming but I won’t give anything away! I cannot wait to pick up the second book, but while we’re waiting for it, I highly recommend getting lost in this one!

This book blew me away! I have read books by this author before, but none quite like this one. I liked that it is a little bit longer than my regular go-to books, but it is actually a combination of two books: Wayward and Undercover. When I say I couldn’t put this down, I mean literally. I skipped a meal and kept right on going because I was too invested in what was going on and what would happen. We read about Jay and Sasha in the first story and then Matt and Marenah in the second. Both are quite suspenseful, full of action and steam! I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us with the next book. Pick this one up now so you can be caught up in time!

As usual, another great story from this author. Whispered Surrender has all the things you need in a Dark Romance. I enjoyed reading the story and all the action and drama in it. I highly recommend reading anything by this author but this is a good one to start. If you are looking for action, danger, suspense, and lots of steamy scenes this is a great choice.

I really got entranced with this book starting from the first page. It proves that no matter if someone is blood related to you you still can’t trust them. A King So Savage (The Savage Duet) by April Moran – Review by Jessica Stone
This book was terrific, I loved every single moment of it to be honest. If you looking for a spicy, reluctant, forced proximity, touch her and die, contemporary dark twisted romance, this is the book for you. I honestly didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but it defiantly gave some Den of Vipers/Haunting Adeline vibes with the main characters King’s obsession with his captive Ava. This story was masterfully done, the relationships between characters were steamy, an antsy, dark and dangerous, it really just checked all the boxes for me. King being this kind of morally gray character and Ava being portrayed as this naive girl, who should known better but somehow doesn’t and coming to terms with who she really is as she grows throughout this book under Kings dare I say tutelage was enjoyable to read.
The premise of this story is basically Ava is kidnapped by King to pay off her brothers debt to him. They know each other from the past, he’s always been attracted to her but never acted on that attraction, until now. I will say this isn’t for the faint of heart and by that I mean make sure to check out the trigger warning provided by the author but don’t let them dissuade you from reading this book. If you do, you are definitely missing out.
I don’t know much about this author, but this book was very well written in my opinion, it flowed cohesively, the plot and story were there and the “romance” was just right. I’m absolutely interested in reading more from this author if this is what her writing is like. Once I picked this booked up it was a struggle to put it down and do other things with my day, I devoured this book.

This book is very engaging. A mystery full of action and adventure. Excellent characters, this chapter book will draw you in and paint you an amazing story. I am a big fan of this author, and this is a fantastic start to a new series. I will recommend this book to all readers. Looking forward to seeing what lies ahead for this adventure.

David has been away in Africa for several years as a doctor treating those in need. The family is trying to figure out why David seems so different from the smart kid who wanted to help others. Maddie is a young actress who is contemplating life as she knows it now and how long she can continue on her path. As with the other books in this series, the author does a beautiful job of character and world building. The Olympic peninsula and the O’Connell family and friends make these book not only fun to read but suck you into the story so you will want to read all 3 books in a day if you could.

The story of Liam and Teresa finding their way to each other through some ups and downs. The story continues from the first book in the series “The Silent Woodsman” however, this book can be read as a stand alone. I actually read the books in the wrong order and had no issues following all the characters. The author does a beautiful job of world and character building. The story takes a bit of time to read but it’s full of family moments and moments when characters step up and out of their comfort zones. I really enjoyed reading the book.

This is by far my favorite book in the Heartstrings series, what a wonderful moral that we learn in this book. Not only do we learn that actions speak louder than words, but we also see that the love of mankind is far more important than anything money can buy. Seraphina also referred to as Meanie by Aiko, our first cupid that we met in book one of this series, not only helps to show why she’s developed this nickname, but she grows through the process of this latest assignment. She is working with Seth, a man that she has been tethered to two other times, both of which failed after she had left the romance to finish blooming on their own, must come back a third time to help Seth, a pro ice hockey player, to find the love of his life. Seraphina is surprised by the man that she is confronted with, as he has changed, and not for the better, allowing fame and fortune to change his entire outlook on life. He is now more focused on himself, instead of the love that he once had for his teammates and the love of the game. Her work is cut out for her, especially when Seraphina learns that the person that Seth’s heartstring leads to is a woman who works in a local place that helps kids in a low-income neighborhood to have opportunities at daycare and activities to keep them out of trouble. Seth grew up in a similar situation thanks to his grandmother taking him in at a young age and giving him the love of ice hockey. Seth has a lot to learn when it comes to wooing a woman who does not need or want all the expensive dinners and entertainment that he’s used to showing his dates but is more drawn into the love he shows the children. Will Seth be able to find his past self, and find joy in the simple things of life, or will he allow his fame and fortune to continue to blind him to the greater things in life, such as true love? @Brandy Rymer 12/2023

This book was so fun to read, I loved that Malayeka was the cupid who got the feuding families, whom she had worked with when the feud had first begun ages before. It’s like the saying goes, things just keep coming around, well hopefully after this cupid works her magic, maybe the feud will finally come to an end but with love winning out this time. Malayeka has her hands full in this story, where she’s got to work with the Thomson family and the Reid family who are well known for their feuding town where each side of the road has matching businesses, but each side is run by the other family. Unfortunately for our cupid, the person she is tethered to is a Reid, and her heartstring leads to a Thomson. The two who are attached have had a secret friendship their whole lives that they have had to keep hidden from both families. The Thomson side of this romance has no problem telling his family how he feels, it’s the Reid side who values the love of her family and is too scared to speak up and stand up for the love that she hides deep down, where she thinks if ignored, it’ll just fade away into safety. This is where our cupid gets to come in and help guide these two into seeing how much better life would be if they’d just open up to the love, they have for one another and how much more healing it would be for everyone in the long run in the town. This was such a fun read that incorporates old-time teachings and morals but is based in a modern time. Will these families be able to get past their old-fashioned beliefs and allow their children to let their love for one another blossom, or will they drive the two love birds apart? @Brandy Rymer 12/2023
