Take me back!!! Whew. I love this author, I love this series. Here we are, book 3… David and Maddie (and Kilo…kinda) While this is the 3rd book, you COULD read it alone, but by reading the whole series, you truly get the whole picture, and understand more of the little things between the characters. I didn’t think I’d love another book more than the 1st, but this one is fighting REALLLLLLLY hard for that spot. If you love a great romance, with a little bit of a mystery and alll the good stuff in between, you wont wanna miss this series, or, just this book, (but absolutely read the series if you have the time!!)

I’ve read book 3 in the series and it helped a bit with the details for this book but would highly recommend reading this series in order so you can get the full picture at hand. This story picks up with Tom leaving the agency and discovering some well hidden secrets. He waits patiently for Isabella to return home. Some unexpected visitors, part of the Operation SweetPea, come to Tom and ask for his help within the human trafficking realm. One twist after another in this crime ridden story.

A King So Savage was the first book I’ve ever read by April Moran as well as the first book in the Savage Duet. Having never read this author before, I wasn’t sure what to expect but found myself impressed quickly. The story picks up immediately and leaves you invested until the cliff hanger ending. This is not a book trope I choose to read often so I welcomed the change of pace. I have read so many books lately that are written in alternating perspectives, I enjoyed that this book wasn’t written that way. While the book was fast paced, dark and entertaining, my favorite aspects were the little things like the playlist at the beginning of the book and the way each chapter begins with italicized phrases. I look forward to reading book two.

This is the first book in this series that I’ve read and I highly recommend that the books are read in numerical order to have a better understanding of the story at hand. As I started reading this book, I was a bit lost in the details. Some stories I’ve read give out some details along the way and this one gives very little so you are forewarned. Besides getting the content of the story at hand, the story was pretty good and intriguing. The story takes place with Tom and Isabella, whose father has recently passed away and plans to take his body back home to Belarus. The major difficulty in doing so for Isabella is the bounty out for her capture. The plan is to go there and back to London in five days time with the help of Tom during the journey. But when she is discovered back home, she ends up being separated from Tom and led into a life she was running away from. The only way to escape is through dangerous means and hoping that the right people can be trusted to handle the task at hand.

I’ve loved each book in this series, but this may be my favorite so far! In this book we focused on David and hearing about his experience as a doctor in Africa. Maddie and Kilo are also a focus in this story, and it will have you on the edge of your seat forgetting about your real-world duties for a bit. The author sets the scene with such vivid imagery that I felt like I was fully immersed in the Pacific Northwest! While you can likely read this as a standalone without much confusion, I highly recommend reading from the beginning to get the full backstory and experience. Don’t skip this series!

I’ve read a few books by this author and this one has been my favorite so far! It is incredibly suspenseful, and the flow of the story is great. I couldn’t read fast enough because I had to know what happened, and I read it all in one sitting. Reading about Ted and Marcie’s relationship is entertaining, but adding in their chemistry and the danger that could keep them apart takes it to the next level. If you like the romance genre with bountiful suspense intertwined, this is your next read!
Ms Barden once again gave us a lovely cozy mystery. This is set in Los Angeles in the 1930s. This book is aimed for a younger audience (teenagers), but I enjoyed it all the same.
This time, Sparky is on the hunt for some stolen jewels while a cannibal is loose. Follow Sparky while she protects her friend and tries to unveil who the cannibal is.
If you’re looking for a fast paced mystery, this one is for you!

Reading this book felt like watching a crime solving show. When a local store in the small town burns down, and no body is found, the owner is presumed to be dead. But, when a threatening note surfaces, April May is determined to help solve the case. Add in a rescue dog, a budding relationship, and the city girl who is trying to make it in the small-town…and you’ve got quite a story.
I enjoyed this story and was pleasantly surprised the turns that the story took. There seemed to me multiple storylines interwoven throughout the pages. Looking into one crime led to another mystery which led to another….you get the picture. It was entertaining and I enjoyed immersing myself into the story for a couple of hours. This is the second book in the series. Although it was understandable as a standalone, there is definitely some backstory that will be missed by not reading the first one prior to this book. Overall, a good story!

The book cover art immediately made me feel as if I was about to watch a scary movie or read an extremely scary intense suspenseful book. I began reading this and did not want to put the book down, again due to the storyline being just as intense and suspenseful as I expected. This book follows Tom, a newly retired agent who simply wants to live his life outside of the agency and with his love, Isabella. However, when two young ladies involved with a previous case contact Tom’s agency friends demanding his immediate attention, his immediate reaction is to ignore or reject. However, when Isabella asks him to do one last favor and speak to the young ladies, he begrudgingly agrees. This is when Tom’s life takes a turn. The author then introduces you to the secret mission Tom previously was involved with that revolved around a tragic human trafficking ring. In his attempt to limit the amount of people involved with this off-the-books scenario, Tom finds that everyone involved and their loved ones are in danger.
You follow the adventure to find the location of a few of the victims of the tragic ring, and gather as much intel as possible on the folks involved with the expansive trafficking network. While the reader will find themselves on the edge of their seat, I think the thrilling conclusion of this book will leave them wondering what is next.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the creation of these incredibly complex characters. I cannot wait to catch up w/ the entire series and follow the author’s success due to their incredibly creative gift of story telling.

This was a great book for me to take home over Christmas. There were many elements I enjoyed – not only the typical holiday romance, but also the danger and suspenseful elements which come along with the kidnapping. I was gripped almost immediately by the absurdity of the elf and when everything else starts coming together I was blown away. Marcie’s latest job also seems to require her to complete a list of tasks with an old elf. This is just the beginning of the strange things about this job, but I won’t give any spoilers. When Marcie and Ted meet and there’s instant chemistry, so they pursue this connection and you get all the feels. But there’s still a lot left in the story, so you know something is about to go down! I could not put this down until I knew what was going to happen. I was too invested. When Ted returns from a family event, Marcie has seemingly disappeared and so Ted begins to put things together. And so begin the twists that lead to the answers around this mystery elf and all the strange happenings. Festive but action packed, I loved it! It was well written and the development and set up was subtle but worked so well. The darker side was balanced so well with the lighter holiday romance and it was right up my alley. I love the darker twisted stuff but also love the cheesey holiday romances, so combine the two and it was just what I wanted!

Another entertaining and engaging romantic comedy story in this enjoyable YA series, where Cupids are sent to help humans find their perfect love match. I’ve enjoyed the previous books and so was looking forward to reading this one and I was once again hooked from start to finish. Seraphina has been given the test of her eternal life, to find hockey superstar Seth Maxwell his perfect love connection. This is the third time she has tried and she’s determined not to fail this time, but Seth will need a makeover. He’s well known for not being a team player and for being involved in numerous scandals with different starlets. Seraphina will need more than her mythical bow and arrow to help guide him to the love of his life, and keep her. This is a fun lighthearted read which kept me happily turning the pages, and I was once again lost in the world of Cupids helping humans to find love!

This is the third book in the Olympic Peninsula series. Although you could read each as a standalone, the previous characters do cross over, and you gain a deeper understanding of previous events and the characters by reading in order. This book focuses on David and Maddie coming together. David has returned from Africa altered, to the concern of his family and meets Maddie. Instant chemistry. Unfortunately, David is taken and so Maddie decides to move on but isn’t necessarily being true to herself. As usual the author writes in such an engaging and easy flowing way it is so easy to get lost in the story and invested in the pair’s lives. The way the character’s secrets are slowly revealed and the truth of who they are, and their lives is developed is well-written and I didn’t want to put the book down. The descriptive narrative, which is what hooked me in the first book, continues to bring the scenery and characters to life as the series progresses and I can’t help but wanting more!

This was a real page turner, with likeable and relatable characters and an intriguing storyline which kept me captivated throughout. Nasser and Jade meet when they are both a little lost and broken, Nasser’s days of being an alpha are over and he’s resigned himself to staying hidden, whilst Jade is the girl from the ‘other’ side. When Nasser says to Jade “Sit with Me”, everything changes for them both, but Jade always knew it would only be temporary as she was the girl everyone thought was unworthy of him, however, Nasser had other ideas. This romance was full of drama and suspense and the storyline took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The chemistry between Nasser and Jade sizzled off the page and I loved the forbidden element of their story. As this is the first book in a series I look forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

Marcie Hayes is a young woman with a nomadic lifestyle, she moves from place to place so that she can work as an in-home dog sitter where she temporarily moves into a client’s house so that she can look after their dog while they are on holiday, and she loves it. Normally she thoroughly checks out her clients beforehand, however, a last-minute offer in the Pocono Mountains has her changing her routine, including following the instructions left by the owner, however, in this case, she is having trouble with it because of her slightly rebellious nature and the ridiculous demands within it.
These demands include a creepy antique elf which must be posed every day in certain ways so that the owner can enter an online contest, but Marcie is not impressed and decides to do it but change things up slightly if circumstances lead to a better opportunity. While she is not happy about the elf, she is more than happy with the dog, a loveable King Charles Spaniel who loves nothing more than cuddles and walks, as long as the elf is nowhere in sight.
As the days pass, Marcie meets another resident, a tall, dark and handsome man called Ted, an RAF Pilot who also owns a dog and they are immediately attracted to one another, the connection is strong and even better, the dogs get along too and as they spend more time together, the flirting and chemistry heighten, but when Ted has to go away to a wedding, leaving Marcie home alone with the dogs, she suddenly goes quiet and Ted has a bad feeling.
When he returns to the Mountains, his worst fears come to fruition when he finds that Marcie may have been abducted, but he is determined to get her back, but will he be able to do this in time and find the breadcrumbs leading to her, or will Marcie become as lifeless as the antique elf before he can? This is a festive romance with a dash of danger, as this sweet romance turns into a race against time to rescue a damsel in distress by her knight in shining armour.

Sparky is eleven and today is her birthday, she hasn’t had much luck on birthdays in the past, on one, her mother died, on the other, her guardians up and left her and today is no different. All Sparky wants is to do is crack open her lockbox full of sweets and watch the sunrise over the park, but instead she finds a little girl on the bench and it turns out she is dead!
Sparky is scared out of her wits and in her shock, she drops the candy tin and runs away, the next thing she knows is that the police have found the girl and her tin and because of what she has written inside the lid, she is now wanted for murder, with a reward on her head and has to go on the run. Unfortunately for Sparky, everyone who she classed as a friend seems to be in it for the reward and tattle to the cops, so she decides to go up Bunker Hill to somewhere she knows they won’t expect to find her.
This is how she finds some safety with the unlikely pair who live there, or at least safe enough that she can hide out until all of this is over, however, the papers want the opposite, they want to blame a whole host of other crimes on her as well, most of which she didn’t even commit!
Will she be able to figure out who killed that little girl and why so that she can clear her name, and will she be able to trust her unusual saviours, or will the mobsters, street kids or the other unsavoury characters she knows turn her in before she even has the chance? This is a historical novel which shows Depression Era Los Angeles from a perspective which not many would, all while weaving a mystery around characters who could well have been real in this quirky book.

This is the 4th book in The Heartstring Series. Even though this is the 4th book they can all be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different Cupid, however I know that once youve read one you will want to read them all just like I did.
This story follow Searphina. I like her. She is a very no no nonsense character who is determined and very strong willed. She doesn’t let no one and nothing push her around and she needs that strength and determination to deal with her next assignment Seth Maxwell.
Searphina and Seth have had run ins before when Searphina matched him to his heart match and somehow he always manages to break the bond.
Now she has been assigned him again. And this time she is determined to make this one stick. But her task will not be easy. Seth is now a star hockey player who has a overinflated sense of who he is and that translates to how he interacted with all people in his life. Can Seraphine knock him off his pedestal long enough for him to realise the worth of a women he would normally never look twice at?
This is a battle between two very strong willed people which will have some funny moments. The road to true love never runs smoothly and when a Cupid’s involved you can guarantee it will be a rollercoaster.

An enjoyable and engaging historical romance which kept you captivated throughout. It is a great stand-alone even though it is a part of a series. The author as an amazing attention to detail makes it so realistic. I really enjoyed this book had to give it five stars. Thank you P. Creeden

This is book # 6 of the Jorja Knight Series. I have only read one other book from this series and while both are good. I do feel a little lost in this last one. I definitely recommend reading all of them in order. That being said, Jorja entered into another country to spend time with her friend Gabriella. Unfortunately Gabby and another friend of Gabby’s has gone missing. Will Jorja be able to find Gabby and the other woman? I really like Jorja but I feel like she trusts too easily in this book and it seems to back fire a lot. While I am still reading this book, I do plan on going back and reading the other books of this series because I found out something’s in this story that I didn’t know before. Which is probably why I feel lost. So do not skip any of the books, read them in order.

Whispered Surrender is a spicy dark romance about a bodyguard and an illegitimate Russian mafia princess. Jay is a bodyguard for some very powerful people. As he is watching one of his clients, he falls in love with the woman who the client was sleeping with, Sasha. Sasha is a broken ballerina after any attention she can get due to being discarded by so many men and even her father. What she doesn’t know is that Jay has been watching her and believes there is chemistry there. He becomes “obsessed” with making sure his “angel” is safe. For much of the book, Sasha struggles with the fact that someone could actually want her to want her, so you find her pushing Jay away but still falling for him at the same time. In all of this love struggle, Jay is also trying to keep her safe because there is someone out to get them but they can’t quite figure out who, due to so many enemies. Will he be able to keep her safe? Will she be able to allow him to love her? Will the two be able to find a balance between chaos, hurt, and romance? There were many things I liked about this story and a couple of things I didn’t. This author is a favorite mafia storyteller of mine so I will always read one of her books. One good thing, about the book, was the spice. Ohhh there were so many good spice scenes. I liked the power/submissive roles played by the characters, as well. If you don’t like that type of trope this is not the read for you because there is a clear power/submissive dynamic. The main aspect that bothered me was the whole misunderstanding of the feelings scenario. Now, I know it was probably necessary for the plot but I hate when the characters are saying something but everyone is misreading because they are not expressed straight forward. Also, Sasha was highly insecure (again necessary for the plot), but sometimes I just wanted to tell her to open up her ears and eyes. Jay, on the other hand, I enjoyed his character. He was strong, powerful, controlling but not overly so, and got things done. The second half is about Matt and Marenah. Matt goes undercover to gather intel, but ends up captured by the Russian mafia. Jay helps get him back, but there is much they have to be careful about (this happens in Jay’s story). During the undercover ops, Jay falls in love with Sasha’s sister, Marenah. This is not a great idea for Matt, being in love with a mafia princess. This couple has many secrets that are unpacked throughout their romance. These secrets have proven deadly for many, but Matt will do anything for this new love, no matter what that means. Again these were great characters. Both are strong in their own right, as well as protective of others. I enjoyed their story a little more than Jay and Sasha’s. Overall, good read!!

Sometimes love hits in all the right places but this case it’s not the right one. Cupid has struck his arrow in this whirlwind romance hockey and love what more could you want ? Book four in this heartthrob of a series and I definitely encourage you read the other 3

Ummmm…mafia, powerful female characters, sexual tension you can cut, AND happily-ever-afters? YES PLEASE!! Not to mention Whispered Surrender is a collection of 2 books, Wayward and Undercover, neatly packaged in the Sinful Duets #1 collection. I could not read these fast enough. There is so much going on in each book that it’s hard to find a place to pause (when the real world calls) and you will literally come rushing back as soon as you can to start reading again. Via Mari just has such a way with words that I loose all track of time when I have one of her books in my hands. I cannot wait for the next installment of the Sinful Duets collection! OMG! I could not put this book down! I absolutely love the different POVs we get and the twists and turns this book throws you for are not for the faint-hearted! I went in expecting a cutesy little holiday romance and boy was I (pleasantly) surprised. I cannot recommend this book enough! If I could give it more stars I would! I don’t want to spoil anything for you but just know you MUST pick up this book today! Reviewed by @meggs1717
Fantastic continuation of this series! I love that you can read these as standalones or as the series. I always recommend reading as a series simply because you will get little details here and there that you would otherwise miss; however, with this series, those details are not so important to each plot that you have to read it as a series. I love that we continue to follow the O’Connell siblings and are now focused on David and Maddie (who is also interested in Kilo, the yoga instructor) and their journey to finding out what they all want. I love the setting of this series, the Pacific Northwest, and I absolutely love Treadgold’s writing. You really can’t go wrong with this series. There is intrigue, mystery, love, heartbreak, and so much more. I highly, highly recommend starting this series right now…whether it’s book 1 or book 3! Reviewed by @meggs1717
