This is the first book in the Powder River Pack series, where we are introduced to a group of werewolves and their mates. In this series, only males can be werewolves, but they are mated to females that are regular humans. Derek and Annabelle met while younger and dated for a few years before Annabelle was forced to move due to a bad marriage and her parents getting divorced. Annabelle’s dad seems to have a problem with people, no one seems to make him happy including his daughter and ex-wife. As we progress through the story, we find out why Annabelle’s dad hates Derek, and life in general and takes this anger out on everyone around him. He wants everyone to be miserable just as much as he is and has no problem going to extreme measures to achieve this. This was an amazing first book in this series and introduces a ton of great characters that I am so excited to get to know more in the next books. @Brandy Rymer 01/2024

This is book 4 of the Powder River Pack series and tells the story of Alexa and Miles. The long wait is finally over, we get to find out why Alexa was so hot and cold towards Miles, and what happened to her in the past that has caused her to be so damaged when it comes to relationships. I loved the drama that this book was filled with and the thrill of trying to figure out who was watching Alexa. The characters were amazing, it was awesome meeting and getting to know the newest characters, and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I’m excited to see which character’s story will come next. @Brandy Rymer 01/2024

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow she now has a new fan. This book is the prequel to the Hidden Valley Elite series and now I’m hooked on these guys. I also love that she wrote this from both characters’ points of view because it makes me feel more emotional for them. This was a quick read for you to get ready for this epic series and I can’t wait to read it.
Riley is used to moving around so when her and her mother end up in another small town she doesn’t get attached. She wanted to have some fun first because she would be gone soon anyway. Riley sees a house party so she sneaks in and she looks around. She sees something valuable so she takes it but she wasn’t expecting to run into someone. Riley runs into the very addictive Cole. She doesn’t know what to do so she kisses him and runs. Will Riley leave and never return or will Cole find her first? Review by @heatherbass

Fade into the Night is the next book in the Philly Street Series. Another adventure for the characters the reader has learned to love in the last few books. The author brings a story full of suspense and intrigue that gets extremely close to home. Noah works himself to the bone never giving himself a chance at a life and being happy. He doesn’t understand what he sees happening with his friends but is happy for them nonetheless. Unfortunately he’s about to find out in an unexpected way. Sadie was a fling a few nights he will always remember. That is till he runs into her at a coffee shop in Philly. Sadie never thought she’d see Noah again. When that proves to be wrong, she decides to take full advantage. Convincing him of spending an evening together. Unfortunately for her it leads to her being attacked and injured badly by the current suspect in the case Noah is trying to solve. Now he’s faced with a dilemma. Noah’s off the case because he’s too invested, but can he really stop? Will Noah keep Sadie safe? Will they bring the suspect to justice? The answers to those questions is what keeps the reader invested in this story. Turning the page and wanting more! This may be a series but these books work well as standalone novels as well. Jump in and enjoy!

This was a super cute, well illustrated, easy to understand way to start early education for children about how to take care of the earth. We enjoyed reading this book and talking about all the questions and subjects that it brought up. It kind of reminded me of a tv show my kids used to watch called Wonder Pets where the animals save the day.

This is the 5 th book in The Relic Hunters Series. Although each book can be read as a standalone, you have more knowledge and background of the storylines and characters if you read them in order. It’s been a while since I read the first book but it didn’t take long before I was sucked into Matt and Adam’s adventure. I especially like reading about the different locations the brothers travel to and search for the relic. The world the author created is action packed, keeps the story moving, and we get to know these characters and why they hunt for the relics.

A Heart so Savage is the second book in April Moran’s Savage Duet Series. April can most certainly write a story that you will pull you in, make you invested, and be full of steam, and action. A Heart So Savage had it all along with some things that could be triggering, so you should check those out before starting book one, but they were not triggering to me. They helped me understand the characters, the way they acted, why they behaved certain ways, and make the decisions that they did. Kingston was able to redeem himself much more than in the first book and became a much more like able man. After all he did only want to protect Ava as much as she confused him and made him feel and behave in ways he just didn’t understand. This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order. I really enjoyed this duet and would be interested in reading other books by this author.

This is book five in The Philly Heat Series. Each book could easily be a standalone, but they are all so perfectly intertwined. This is Noah Danes (FBI special agent) and Sadie Potter (Forensic Facial Reconstructionist) story as they happen to meet again. Each character is wonderfully written and easily relatable. I was quickly pulled in and could not stop reading till I was done. A romantic suspense filled with drama, emotion, action, a killer, romance and more twists and turns to create a perfect book. I definitely recommend this book and well the whole series.

First the cover caught my eye then the synopsis piqued my interest. By the end of the first chapter I was fully hooked. I could not put the book down. It started as just one more chapter before bed and ended with finishing the book a few hours past when I should have been asleep. There is adventure, rivals, academy setting, and a unique cast of characters. Bonus, enemies to rivals trope.
I am definitely a fan of this series and cannot wait to get lost in the next book in the series.

Overall, “A King So Savage” is a must-read for fans of epic romance, political intrigue, and fantasy adventure.

This is the second of Cray’s adventures that I have read to my kids and they love it. We were so glad to see Cray using his pinching claw for good in this story!
This story teaches a lesson to children about being environmentally conscious in an easy and fun way. I also liked the last page with tips to do so. We look forward to more adventures with Cray.

I was doing my best to patiently wait for this book, and I’m pleased to say that it is a deliciously dark romance that kept me awake for hours just so I could finish in one sitting! Without giving anything detrimental to the story away, I *highly* recommend reading the first book in the duet. The chemistry that King and Ava have is no joke, but this book doesn’t just rely on steamy scenes for a plot. There is plenty of intense danger, action, drama, and a rollercoaster of emotions throughout that will have you at the edge of your seat. Although Kingston was far from my favorite person in the first book of this duet, getting more of his background here really does a nice job humanizing him, even if it is still twisted. If you’re looking for a steamy, tantalizing dark romance to devour, look no further. This is your sign!

Weston is in need of a roommate in order to help pay the bills…and the two roommates he ends up with blossom quickly into an unexpected MMF relationship. Weston, Petra, and Callum share a chemistry that is steamy and off the charts. The dogs add a sweet and humorous element to the story.
There are some twists that I didn’t see coming and quite a range of emotions throughout this quick read. I found myself rooting for their happy ending! The author did an amazing job with this genre. And the epilogue at the end…a great way to wrap up the book!
After a past relationship gone wrong, Alexa does not want to get involved with another shifter. But, fate intervenes when she meets Miles. Miles is a shifter and does not believe the lore of fated mates until he sees Alexa at the bar. While Alexa is battling between her heart and mind when deciding what to do, her past comes back to haunt her. Will Miles be able to find her and keep his mate safe? And will Alexa realizes not everyone is like her ex before it’s too late?!?
I enjoyed this story. I have ready other books by Brooke May and enjoy her writing style. This story had a little twist on your average shifter romance and I found it interesting. I am excited to see what the rest of the series has in store!

Relic Hunters: Betrayal of the Gods (Relic Hunters Series) by Martin Ferguson . This is the 5th installment in the Relic Hunter series and it follows 2 brothers Matt and Adam. They are continuing their mission to find the lost city of Atlantis. The brothers are facing something they’ve never had to deal with in a battle and that is they have no equipment or supplies to help them fight the battle of their lives. They have to rely on their skills and smarts as they fight. The boys learn so much about Greek myths thru this story and they learn they don’t know nearly as much as they thought they did. There is a side story about Princess Alaina of Atlantis and her fight in the Trojan War as well. This is a fast paced young adult story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will want to finish it when you start. I highly recommend reading these in order to help you better understand the story line and characters.

It only took me a day to read this book. I couldn’t put it down, it’s definitely my favorite of the series. (Should I say so far? Is it possible there will be more with Lynn?) There’s an instant chemistry with Miller and Maisy. Their relationship moved fast but it worked, it felt like I was reading characters who have known each other for years. Bear is awesome, I couldn’t help myself thinking who would name their kid Bear? But his personality is great and you just can’t help falling in love with this kid. I’m glad that Miller got along with him so well too. The family gets some closure with the Doctor and their father’s death and I’m really glad they got this, they needed this. My only fault with the story is the fire and the break in. I felt those were big things and them just being a fluke doesn’t sit right with me. Also, I know “don’t judge a book by its cover.” The cover looks great, I would pick this up in a store just looking at it, but that guy just doesn’t say Miller to me. This is just a light, feel good story, it has a little spice but not so much that it takes away from the story.

The characters are relatable for kids and the illustrations really add to the book. This is a good way for kids to learn how to act within a friendship and learn boundaries and the correct manner in which to act. I really would recommend this book for young kids. Look forward to reading more from this author.

In this book, we meet Betsy, a small-town librarian and Nash, a Marine veteran. Nash has a hard time dealing with headaches and it makes him a bit grumpy, so when Betsy first meets Nash, he’s not the most pleasant individual. However, Nash realizes that he was a little too gruff with Betsy and makes it up to her by helping her out when a winter storm comes, and her car ends up with a flat tire. He offers to give her a ride home, but she’s torn because Nash is a stranger. She gives Nash a chance and realizes that he’s a much nicer man than she had originally thought, but she’s still intimidated by him. Nash had a bad experience with his ex-fiance who didn’t want a man who only had one eye and an eye patch. He’s about to give up on women in general but ends up falling for Betsy when he realizes that she is nothing like his ex, and is in fact, exactly what he’s looking for in a woman. Then Betsy’s sister comes along and makes things difficult with her drama. Will Betsy and Nash end up together, or will the drama her sister brings tear them apart before they can even begin a relationship?

5 Stars Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May
Resisting Nature is the fourth book in the Powder River Pack Series and is a wonderfully written Paranormal Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I’m a huge fan of this author and have read several books by her. I love that no matter what genre she’s writing she pulls you into their world and makes you feel apart of the story. The characters are relatable, fully developed and some are creative. This Paranormal Romance grabbed me from the first page and I literally read this in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. This is packed with drama, secrets, action, love, alpha shifters , werewolves, pain , hope and so much more. Alexa and Miles, she’s just wanting a fresh start from the mess her life had been in and she wants to be happy so she trying to start over. Can she find the happiness she’s looking for? Miles thinks he’s found his mate until he loses her. Can he show her that they are meant for one another? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Resisting Nature was a really good read. With that being said I really dislike any books about werewolves. It was a bit much for me to read this but, being a huge fan of the author I pushed through.
Alexa was saying a guy named Grant who turned out to be a horrible person. He hurt her and forced her to give up her virginity. She ended up pregnant but knew she had to get away from him because he was dangerous. She ended up giving her baby up for adoption but kept in close contact with the family who know has her son. Alexa moved far away In Hopes that Grant will never find her.
Years later she’s at a bar with her friend and right away there is something between her and the bouncer at the door. They both are drawn to eachother immediately. What Alexa doesn’t know is Miles is somewhat like Grant only he’s not a monster like he was. Miles is loving, caring and sweet. One morning when she wakes up alongside Miles who happened to shift during the night at some point, she is very afraid and decides she can’t do this again.
After a month or so of not talking or seeing eachother they end up talking and trying to work things out when Grant shows up out of the blue. Somehow he finds Alexa and he won’t stop until he has his little family back. Somehow he knows, he has a son somewhere out there.
Will Miles and his pack be able to save Alexa ? Will they be able to make it to find where Grant is hiding her or will Miles lose his mate when he finally just got her back?
If this was written by any other author aside from one I love reading, I may not have been able to finish the book, but I’m a big fan of her writing so I’m glad I was able to finish the book.

These books go through each of the Rocklyns children’s journeys on finding their person. And each one is very unique and easy to get lost in. All of the characters are very relatable and each backstory is different which makes for a more interesting read. Kingdom of the Ocean is the sixth and final book in the Relic Hunters series by Martin Ferguson. This was a bit of a bittersweet read for me knowing I was diving into the conclusion of this superb series, but also desperately needing to know how everything plays out in the end after everything they/we have been through. As with the other instalments in this series, this is a fantastic young adult action-adventure with wonderful characters, treasure hunting, the quest for Atlantis, family friendship, historical details, mythology, drama, mystery, danger, investigation, tension, an intriguing & complex plot, high stakes, and a race against time. This instalment picks up where the previous book left off, so if you are yet to read that book, or are yet to start the series, then I highly recommend that you do so before starting out on this final adventure. There are really important details, bridging storyline/arch, character introductions, backstories, and other important information contained in the previous books which you need to know in order to fully appreciate this fantastic instalment, as well as the series as a whole. Mr. Ferguson has done a fantastic job of delivering an exciting and fitting conclusion to the series, while ensuring that the various threads that have spanned the series were all tied up. But, I am ever hopeful that there are many more possible Relic Hunter adventures yet to come in the future — as even though the story and threads were tied up (for these six books and one novella)- things are left quite ‘open’ at the end…….. suggesting (at least to my ever-hopeful little heart anyway) that there are many more treasures/legends/myths/adventure left for the team to pursue I will again mention that this series would make a really great movie, TV series, or adventure/RPG game. Highly recommend for anyone who loves YA epic adventures, history, treasure hunting quests, and mysteries. Looking forward to seeing what Mr. Ferguson has in store for us next! Happy Reading…

The Rocklyn’s collection was an amazing find. 7 books in one collection, I was all in. Reading about the next generation of the Rocklyn siblings was a ball. The dynamics of each story was amazing, and I kept wanting to read more and thankfully, I didn’t have to return a book to get the next book. I could just keep trucking along. The story building that Alicia does in this world is absolutely breathtaking. I could see the scenery, and the book playing out like a movie in my mind. I could just sit back and enjoy it. My favorite book though was reading about Raina in Rainy Day Lovers. I saw myself in her because I’m the oldest in my family and I’m also the problem solver. She was easily relatable, and i just connected with her. The story had a good pace, and the ending was absolutely perfect. I can’t wait to read more by Alicia!

I would have been glad to do so even though I sometimes don’t want to stray away from authors I have read before. With that being said this series was good from start to finish. You don’t have to read these in order necessarily but it does help as the stories deal with the Rocklyn siblings. Are you a fan of second chance romance? Perhaps a forbidden love? Or maybe a secret baby? All of those are in this package along with a few more. These were easy to get lost in and hard to put down so make sure you’re not in the middle of doing something that requires your full or immediate attention.

View all my reviews

Even though it is a series they can all be read on their own. The author has made the characters enjoyable and her writing style makes the story flow so easily that you will get caught up and forget about time. This is book four and is the story of Miles and Alexa. She is running away from an awful situation and hopes the new town and new start will be good. That is until trouble shows up on her door step. Miles, of course, wants nothing more than to love and protect Alexa but she pushes him away. Will Alexa be able to trust Miles?

View all my reviews
