Dancing Butterfly (Butterflies Fly Free Series) by Debra Parmley – Review by Kerry Carr

Dancing Butterfly (Butterflies Fly Free Series Book 2)Dancing Butterfly by Debra Parmley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Butterflies Fly Free Series. Even though it is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. I really love these stories as the author does an amazing job of transporting the reader back in time to the 1920s.
In this story we are with Suki and Frank. Suki is a dancer and Frank is a gangster.
Suki has had her eye on Frank for a while and when the club where she works is attacked it throws her and Frank together in a way neither of them expected.
When Suki is injured escaping the conflict in the club where she works she is out of action and is worrying how she will afford her rent.
Frank offers her a solution. To play the part of his woman. But what happens when the lines between playing a part and feeling the real emotions gets blurred. What happens if she actually falls for Frank?
It isn’t all plain sailing either. Suki is an indepedent women who has struggled and always provided for herself so how will she react when Frank steps in and takes care of all her needs. Will she allow a man to take that much control from her or will she fight against it. Life as a gangsters moll is tough but will the love and need for Frank be enough to keep her there.
It was beautiful to watch this couple grow and learn to adapt to each other. The authors amazing research into the historical elements really brought this story to life.
I can’t wait to read more.
