Deceptively Yours (Titans of Chicago, #1)Deceptively Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love this author and I love the previous Manhattan Titans series. To find out there’s a new series and it’s going to be about the Chicago Titans how can I say no!?! I look forward to the development and reading books in this series as they come out, until then. Deceptively Yours was a nice start to a new Titans series. A small warning that this book contains some dark themes so don’t take it lightly.
Harper and Gabriel were torn apart. Growing up together as sweethearts they expected to be together forever. Planned for it even, until one fateful that Harper’s parents were in an accident. It would change and upend their lives forever. Harper was taken from Chicago by her uncle. And suffered through abuse in the household let alone outside. But she wanted to protect Gabriel, never realizing at the time it would last forever. Because years later she realized he might be in trouble and that sadly she would be the cause and she needed to protect him.
Harper came barreling back into Gabriel’s life and he hated and loved it. He hated her and she destroyed him, but did he really? It was a struggle because she was the one who got away. Didn’t matter how young they were, he knew then she would be it for him. But now how could he even look at her. Through hateful passion he hoped to have hurt her as she hurt him. But what happens when she’s in danger? Does he answer the call?
Will these two get a true second chance to fix what was broken?
Does Harper succeed in her quest to protect Gabriel?
Those questions and so many will come as you navigate this Chicago Titan adventure.
I personally am trying to figure out which Chicago Titan will be next. Happy reading!
