I really enjoyed this one. I felt for Cricket because she is torn on what to do. Boone was terrific, he was so sweet with Cricket. Great story, looking forward to more in this series.

I just finished the book and still trying to come up with the best way to describe my thoughts on everything.
I love Fox, he is truly a fantasy man. I don’t know if there are men who are that good all the way around and treat women with such amazing respect.
Bailey is someone I could relate to in a way, we are both the mother of two daughters and pretty independent. Being the mother of two daughters is no easy feat, though she made it look a lot easier than it is and she was doing it alone.
I think every woman deserves a Fox in their life and I’m glad there wasn’t the angst with the two of them like there is in so many books. It works for the twenty somethings but not the mature adults.
This is my introduction to Ms. Barker and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m looking forward to keeping up with this series and meet some amazing couples.

This author manages to weave the steam in with the suspense in mesmerizing ways. In this addition to the series, there are a few surprises along the way. The distrust adds to the tension throughout the story. Not everyone is who they seem to be.
Finlay, an investigative reporter, is undercover as Fiona trying to find a friend’s younger sister that has gotten caught up in the world of human trafficking. Finlay might have jumped into this investigation unprepared, not only for what she discovers but for the situation. Finlay jumped without looking when her friend called in a panic about the sister. Now Finlay is about 10 days from walking away from the club where she is working as a mixologist and exposing what actually goes on at the club. Finlay knows the organization is bigger than what goes on at the bar, but she didn’t realize how big or that she kicked the hornet’s nest getting this far.
Drake is only going to check on Finlay because she is friends with the boss’ wife. That is what he tells himself anyway when he agrees to take this assignment. When he walks in and sees what is going on and who the players are, Drake knows that Finlay is not only in over her head but also in danger. No matter how Drake tries to convince Finlay to let the special investigative security company he works for, composed of former military special forces operatives, take over the investigation, Finlay won’t budge. Finlay made a promise to her friend and she plans to see it through.
As Finlay and Drake get closer to the truth, the danger increases. People are being thrown out of windows and disappearing. Friends are risking their own safety for Finlay and she won’t let anyone get hurt for her. Finlay, Drake and company agree to a plan but things go wrong when Finlay goes missing from the club. As things come closer to the end, Finlay finds out who her true friends are. And, who her true family is.
There is so much heat between Finlay and Drake…wow! I hope we get to see some of these characters again! Seb and Alexis seem great together! Zola is strong and a survivor. I have a feeling that Gabriella is not gone forever. But we can only wait (not so patiently) and see. Jump into this series now!!
An adventuresome story. Dylan and his sister, Emily, along with their spunky dog Theodore are on the hunt for the missing bases that are needed for baseball practice. These kids breakdown all the possible suspects, locations and clues. A wonderful story that will have you guessing the whole time.

The Missing Red Envelopes is a good starter chapter book for 10-12ish year olds. I got the book for my 8 year old, since it says 7-12 but it was too much for him to read solo. I read it to him, however, and he really enjoyed the book. He just finished a lesson on Chinese culture in school, so he knew all about the Lunar New Year and red envelopes. The story follows two sisters, Weina and Lorie through their new year. They receive lucky envelopes from friends and family, each filled with money, trinkets or chocolates. They have been saving their money up to buy a special gift, but they misplace them. They recount their day, retracing their steps, hoping to remember where it was left. We learn a bit about the culture, special meals, and traditions surrounding this Asian American holiday. My son was disappointed with the ending, and is hoping for a follow-up book to answer all his questions. Typical of starting chapter books, there is a illustration every chapter or so, to help the readers visualize the story.

Jacqueline Boulden is a first time author for me so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Family Ties Family Lies is a suspenseful, family drama with lots of twists to keep you on your toes. Starting with Rose’s possible career ending injury, leading into her mother’s cancer diagnosis, and moving into the exposure of a life altering family secret, there is so much information to absorb. Boulden does a great job world building, from the hustle of city life to the slow, small town living. The characters are so perfectly imperfect that I couldn’t help but become invested in them. Overall, the story was great but I felt like the pace was a little slower than I would have liked. I felt myself drifting away from the story a time or two. I will definitely be looking into other titles by Jacqueline Boulden.

This was an easy read that I was able to finish in one sitting. I enjoyed the second shot at love premise. I know these are shifters…but they don’t do much shifting. The story progressed at a good pace that kept me turning the pages.

She is also still trying to get a hang of the bond she formed with Matt and Onyx, maintain a relationship with Chi, train the girls who have different powers thanks to Xens blood, while having forgotten memories emerge. One more thing and Xenobia may just fall apart. She has to tap into her mental strength to be able to take all this on, luckily she is not alone this time.
I have said it before and I will say it again… I love love LOVE this author. They have such a weird and unique perspective that reflects in all of their writing. Nothing like reading about a badass female main character who can take on the world and never give up. Not to mention all of the different supernatural beings and elements added in!
I also really like how the author is taking the relationship between Xenobia and the men really slow. It shows the character arc of slowly gaining trust after being abused in the past. It also shows patience and loyalty on the men’s side of things. I am a huge fan of this whole polyamorous thing they have going on.

Absolutely adorable kids mystery book! It makes for a great bedtime read for children. Both my kiddos enjoyed reading it with me to their niece and nephew. It was a hit with all four kiddos so I call that a major win! Reading it and listening to the kids try to solve the mystery alongside the trio in the book really showcased how great the story was.

Normally I would not books like this because I am not into the paranormal or monsters and such, but I chose to read this one for a challenge I was doing. After finishing this book I started thinking that shutting out some topics and only reading certain genres that maybe I was missing some really good books.
I enjoyed the characters, especially Watercress, and the story line of the book. I have not read any books by this author in the past but after reading this one, I will be checking out more of their stories.

One visit to Langston Falls, no matter the purpose, is all it usually takes to show the magic! James is such a likeable character and Sara is so sweet and easy to love as well. Both are hardworking and incredibly independent. And Sara’s son is the sweetest little boy. Watching James and Sara grow to let go of past issues and insecurities to try to make a go of a relationship was endearing. I have been waiting for James’s story and this did not disappoint. Fearless Love is the perfect ending to the Bennett’s series with an extra happily ever after!

This was my first book by this author and I found it delightful! We get to meet sisters Lorie and Weina who have misplaced their lucky red envelopes with money, that they were gifted as part of the Lunar New Year. We follow that girls back through their day and seeing how they celebrated the New Lunar Year. It’s really sweet to see the sisters working together to solve where the envelopes might be. I found it to be a great book with a lot of fun education about this holiday and different cultural traditions and a really sweet bond between the sisters and their family. The illustrations were also wonderful as well.
I struggle to write a review for Fuller Sight by John Stone that will do the novel justice while avoiding spoilers. I can honestly say I have never read anything like this. I was truly curious by what I had read in this book’s synopsis and I feel like the writing did not disappoint. This isn’t a book that you read quickly over a low key weekend and move on. It is more thought provoking and deep without being too heavy to be enjoyed. I liked this book and really would recommend it to anyone looking for something different.

Caspian and his grandfather have the cutest bond! This is such a great series for younger children to really help spark their imaginations. Caspian has to go on a mini adventure to find his present from his grandfather using his Inquisitive Indicator he finds in the kitchen. This takes him on a fun adventure to hunt for his gift. I always love the illustrations in this author’s books. It makes them bright and engaging for children. Definitely a wonderful story for children of all ages!
WHEW!! Someone get me some ICE! This one was SPICY. Goodness. I adore Zachary and Ashton’s story so much. I’m not gonna lie though, it was a lot. But absolutely worth it. If you’re here for a little kiss on the cheek and some snuggles, this is NOT the book for you. This is hot, and heavy and deep and intense. And 1000% worth all the tears I shed over it.The only “spoiler” I’ll give is one the author gives, and that is, that they get their HEA. so, yeah… There’s that 🙂 Read this series. You wont be disappointed, like AT ALL.

An entertaining and engaging romantic crime story which is full of suspense and which kept me hooked throughout. Main character Harriet “Harry” Smith is a tough if slightly reckless private investigator and a criminology professor in New York City. She’s on a surveillance job when she comes face to face with Trey Popov, who is a rising star in the Trubetzkoy crime family. Harry manages to escape and on their second meeting she is working undercover as a schoolteacher, but can’t help but feel an attraction to Trey. Despite wanting to climb the criminal ladder Trey can’t deny the connection he and Harry have, even though they are putting themselves in danger. Meanwhile, Harry is also looking for justice for her police detective father who was murdered. The descriptive narrative brings both the setting and the characters vividly to life, which made me feel fully immersed in the story. The storyline has plenty of plot twists which kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story, and although it’s part of a series it can be read as a standalone story. However, having met Harry in this novel I am keen to read the previous books in the series.

After reading book 1 and the prequel, I was so excited to get to read book 2 in this riveting series. We find Xen still struggling from the events of book 1. I am always such a fan of multiple POV’s so we can see what the other characters are thinking and feeling. This is a fast paced story with so much intrigue and danger lurking around every corner. Xen is dealing with the White Queen who wants her gone so she can rule and someone she trusted betrays her. Xen has to work quickly to try and keep herself and everyone she cares about safe. I am really enjoying this series and I feel like it does such a great job of blending the supernatural and making it feel realistic. Can’t wait for the next book!

Web of Evil is the second book in Hani’s Daughter Mysteries and is a Historical Cozy Mystery that will have you turning the pages till the end. This was the perfect book to curl up on the couch with. I’m a fan of this author and the previous series The lord Hani Mystery which this is a spinoff of. I’m loving this series so far. The characters are relatable, developed and creative yet make the story fly off the pages. Get ready to follow along with three very determined ladies while trying to solve the murder mystery. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to reading more from this Author.

I have absolutely enjoyed reading about the Bennetts and its definitely bitter sweet that this is the last one in the series. The author has managed to create a wonderful series of interwoven stories that can be read as standalones or, as I prefer, in order as a series. I loved getting to really know James better and seeing how much more there was to him. It was tough seeing how much Sam leaving hurt him, but getting to see how happy he and Sara were, made it all worth it. I loved seeing how well James and Noah got along and that he got to meet Noah before he even met Sara. Getting to see the rest of the family rally together to help Noah have a great party, really sets the tone for Sara to see how wonderful James and his family are. As always the story contains plenty of laughs, drama, secrets, and small town life. I absolutely recommend this story and series to anyone wanting to read a delightful feel good story and series.

This is book 7 in the Silver Spring Pets series. I would say these books can definitely be read as standalones however I enjoyed this book so much I want to read the others. This is a reverse harem, paranormal romance. It is fast paced and it is full of steam, romance, supernatural beings, as well as a little danger. For me I love a paranormal story with fated mates and this has more than one so I was a very happy reader. Basil went on a date and her life changed in ways she couldn’t have ever dreamed about. When she wakes she finds she is no longer alive but a vampire, but she’s vegan so how will that even work? Wanting to move forward with her life she moves to Silver Springs and opens up a smoothie/tanning studio. Finally she feels at home and when her mates come calling she can’t deny the pull towards them. However things aren’t all happy and plain sailing as vampire hunters have followed Basil to Silver Springs and are not determined to destroy the life she is creating for herself. Will they succeed or will Basil and her mates win the fight?

This fae mystery had a great storyline with many plot twists. Stevie Capot, an immortal version of Robin Hood, finds herself in a debacle. Three strange, magical men suddenly find interest in her, calling her the long lost Princess Stephanie Corin. She is very confused by these encounters and she is unsure who she can trust anymore. As the reader, you do not know who to trust either. The reason I rated this three stars is because it is hard to follow along with, as you hear the point of view of too many characters in the story.
