She has also acquired a special Malachite caterpillar as a pet after a delivery from Sprouts the local farm. Basil is learning how to live among the supernatural now but is she ready for it all.

This is not my first audiobook by this author but it is one of my favorites. I found this audio easy to listen to. An audiobook that is engaging with characters that come to life by the narrator’s different tones of voice. They had me wanting to listen to more. This is a story about what happens when Jake goes to attend his brother’s wedding and things get turned upside down. I enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I highly recommend this audio.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by them. This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous books in this series. I highly suggest reading them to help your enjoyment of this author. This is a well written story about what happens when Jake goes to attend his brother’s wedding and things get turned upside down. I enjoyed how the author used details to make the story come to life. The characters are connectable and kept me turning pages fast. They have great growth throughout which made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced, engaging story that is easy to read. You don’t want to miss what happens to Jake. I highly recommend this book.

At the very beginning of this book, Basil wakes up in the hospital not knowing where she is. She claims she feels weird and then the doctor starts panicking, mentioning that her eyes are bleeding. Basil knows she has to get out of there. She super-speeds to her lab (she is a biomedical engineer) to find out what is happening to her. All signs point to vampirism. The catch, she’s a vegan. She creates a serum that mimics blood so she would not have to feed off of anything living.
While Basil is researching her new found life, she comes across a dark web for supernaturals and finds a town called Silver Springs that seem to favour supernatural beings. Basil thinks it’s a great place to start a new life from and finds a place with a store front.
As Basil and her new friend/employee prepare for the grand opening, Basil meets some of the handsome supernatural men she will soon be seeing much more of. She went from having no one to having a family. When vampire hunters track her down, she has to maneuver everything while keeping them safe. She will have to trust those around her and open her heart to love.
I loved how the author wrote this book. It is written in first person and Basil is a blast. She’s sassy, quirky, smart, and relatively calm in tense situations. It comes across well in the writing. Basil was able to take a bad thing that happened to her and turn it into a blessing. I feel like Basil and I could be friends in real life.
This book is technically book 9 of the ‘Silver Springs Pets series’ but can be read as a stand alone. This is my first time reading a book written by K. Rose but after this one, won’t be my last. I really enjoyed this book and feel like I will enjoy more from this author!

Rose and her Mother Carly took me by surprise. Even though I read the description of this story. I did not expect to be completely drawn in and torn apart. The story not only made me ugly cry, it made me stay up all night to find the answers to the one big question. Props to Rose for wanting to be with her mother when she was most needed. Even though things got intense this story is well worth reading. The author had perfect characters for this story. This is a well written rollercoaster ride with so much to discover. The suspense will keep you reading, the family will bring out the tears, and the tissue, chocolate and wine could be your calming. I hope you enjoy this story and the author as much as I did.

This is yet another fun and entertaining story by one of our favourite children’s authors. The book was just as engaging and as the others we have read and this book took no effort at all to get in to. The illustrations were imaginative and added to the whole story. They are always what draws my kids attention to the book initially. The storyline was great and I enjoyed this book as much as my kids did. It is always nice to find a story we all like and can read multiple times and this book is one of them. I always enjoy books by this author and we are counting down until the next one.
I am really enjoying the Long Claw Pride series by this wonderful and creative author. This book sees Cricket, a very young widow with a young child get a second chance at love through a mating call. This is unheard of and very confusing for her. Boone answers his mating call and after working out what was holding Cricket back they embrace the call. Drama with Crickets family business links with others in this series and I can’t wait for more. I need to know how all this is going to unfold.

This book is a great second chance romance. The characters have a fantastic chemistry right from the start and I loved watching their relationship evolve. The ex-best friend / little sister element to the book I think added more depth to the story. It gave them a great history to draw from and I think deepened their connection. The story was fast paced and quick to read as it is a novella length story. However, I would have flown through it just as quick even if it were longer as it was such a good story to read. It was well written and an overall great story. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

What a great quirky read. I think that’s the word I am after LOL I mean how else would you describe a Vegan Vampire! Basil is in an accident and wakes up a vampire. So confused and needing a way to survive and remain Vegan she develops a serum to take care of herself. She decides to leave town, buying a shop with an apartment she sets herself up in a new town and well things just develop from there. I haven’t read any other books in this series and that did not hinder my enjoyment of this book in any way. I will now be reading others for sure though!

Loretta is taking us in the garden to see what we can find. To Loretta’s surprise, she finds armadillo bugs. What comes upon these armadillo bugs is quite a learning experience….going from little critters to something that glows….what fun!
This is a fun story for ages 4-8 with colorful illustrations. I love how this story comes full circle and I learn something new as well!
4.5 Stars The Changed Man is another engrossing read in The Olympic Peninsula series. I have really enjoyed this series getting to know the O’Connell’s. Make sure to read them in order or you really are missing out.
This is an emotional journey and a heartfelt tale. Cat has given us a well-written tale that is complex and layered just like these wonderful characters and there is a cast of them. You will find yourself falling in love with our MC’s as they navigate their relationship.
It is another well-woven contemporary romance with interesting characters, family dynamics, emotion, drama, angst, complications, interconnected characters, intrigue, and more. This may just be my favourite of the series.
Jake has surprised everyone by turning his back on an empire made with blood, sweat and tears. He has forsaken that life and his lifestyle for something that no one saw coming, something he finally decides to do for himself. A much-needed journey. Loretta is back in a new adventure where she is once again in her garden and this time she learns about Fireflies. The story is cleverly told, and children will learn the life cycle of Fireflies from glowing larvae to the beautiful glowing insects. The narrative is simple and easy to follow along. The beautiful pictures as always bring the story to life. The story is original and fun and full of interesting facts and always opens discussions with my grandbabies who love Loretta’s stories and exploring the garden themselves. The story is aimed at children aged between 4 – 8 years old.
Really a good read, very interesting. Learned a lot about the Chinese culture from this children’s story. I find stories that weave their culture into them highly enjoyable and educational in a fun way for kids.
4.5 stars Stephanie R. Caffreys debut novel, Mistaken Identity is the actioned packed first book in the London Detective Agency. This fast-paced suspenseful romance tale will keep you entertained as the mystery unfolds. Stephanie gives us a page turning tale full of the unknown, danger, secrets, lies, intrigue, angst, fear, hate, betrayal, revenge and ulterior motives. What was meant to be a trip of a lifetime turns into something Evelyn never saw coming in a million years. Now her life hangs by a thread and in the hands of one mystery PI Patrick Miller. Is she running for her life or is she going to unravel the mystery? I look forward to reading other books to come from this author.
This was a great slow burn romance. The characters show great growth throughout this story. It’s in both views of the main characters which is always a favorite of mine. I just always feel it’s a more detailed storyline that way. It’s a great story about life after divorce and the loss of a spouse. It’s well written and paced nicely. The author did well with the build up in the relationship. There’s a sprinkling of steamy romance but the author truly made it about the relationship that was building. Five big stars and highly recommended.

This romantic comedy is a great read with a unique perspective. You are introduced to the main character, Basil who is involved in a terrible accident. She’s provided a blood transfusion that ultimately turns her into a vampire. As we have all been told, vamps require blood to sustain their undead livelihood but what does a vegan turned vamp do in this situation?
Basil soon learns about the supernatural world, life in her new town, Silver Springs and against all odds, opens a very successful tanning salon/smoothie bar. In an effort to continue with her vegan life choice, Basil tries to create a vegan friendly solution to her current predicament.
In addition to all of this drama, she finds herself falling for a trio of interesting characters who openly love her, flaws and all.
Overall this book is entertaining, intriguing and full of surprises. You will also laugh a lot! I really enjoyed this and will continue to read additions to this series due to the entertainment factor.

As she is researching, she comes across a website with an interesting place called Silver Spring and that is when inspiration hits and she decides to open a smoothie and tanning salon and when the accomodation is approved, she heads out to a new life.
What Basil doesn’t expect is to find a few incredibly hot suitors, all of whom are supernatural like her, but when danger comes calling, will Basil be able to keep the life she is creating for herself, or will she really lose it all? In this reverse harem, paranormal romance, you will fall in love with the characters as they find their way up each other through a witty, sweet and spicy story of acceptance, realisation and romance.

Things get spicy from there on out. I loved the new take on Basil’s supernatural dilemma and the creativity. Basil is a fun and easy read that makes you feel good as she achieves in her newfound “life”. Basil is a standalone book; I have not read the other books in the Silver Springs series and thus it did not affect the story at all for me.

This is the 5th book in The Thompson’s of Locust Street. I didn’t realise that this was the final book in the series butbit can be read as a standalone. This is a historical romance and I loved the authors writing and how I was transported back into that era. I also love how the author portrayed Payden, by showing his struggles and torments because of the things he witness and had to do.
Payden is the youngest member in the Thompson family. When his family is threatened by an enemy in his rightful home of Scotland he knows he needs to end this man before he ends up harming his family. So with his cousin Robbie they set off to rid their people of this evil man. They are successful and Payden takes his title of Earl but it’s not all celebration. Payden is left with scars both physically, mentally and emotionally that he fears he will never recover from.
When he meets Clarice they don’t hit it off right away but there is something about her that slowly starts to breathe life into Payden and makes him feel like living again. When Clarice meets Payden she sees a very serious and sad man in front of her. She can tell he hides pain and wants to find out what it is and hope to help him heal. Can she be the balm to ease the pain in Payden’s soul? Things won’t be easy for them and there are obstacles to challenge them but can they be strong enough to push through them and allow love to win? I really enjoyed this beautiful story and I will definitely be going back and reading the previous books in the series.

Tim Holland was assigned to look after his colleagues daughter but he was not accepting to met a sassy nurse, once he returns back to DC he wants to keep the relationship going but it is always hard with a long distance relationship.
Willow has finally finished her travelling nurses contract and back in DC and after the conversations with Tim the relationship seems to be moving fast, although they are still busy they find time for each other. When an opportunity comes up for Willow to go to San Diego Tim encourages her to take it as part of her career advancement.
Tim discovers as part of his job a mystery with patients dying unexpectantly and as he and the rest of Chase investigate lives become threatened and a major illness seems like it will derail Chase care and Security.
This is the sixth book in this series and omg it is just as thrilling as the other books I have read in this series. Tim has cropped up in the other books and have always wondered his story and voila he it is. Willow is a great character for Tim as she is full of sass and is not to afraid to give her opinion which a refreshing avenue in the story.
The story opens up the pharmaceutical industry as what could happen with short stock and supply and demand which is just as riveting as the story itself. The twists and turns in the story had me gripped and reading well into the night to finish it.
I enjoyed the interaction as always of the secondary characters who are becoming like fiends as I read more of the stories related to Critical Care. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the 3rd book in the series, and it is fantastic. It has to be a stand-alone because I haven’t read the first 2. (Yet) The story follows Cricket and Boone, who are Mountain Lions. Crickets family runs a logging business, and this creepy man will not leave them alone about buying the business. Cricket lost her 1st mate to a logging accident, and once you have mated, you are mated for life. Well, that didn’t work with Cricket as she has gotten the mating call again. It Comes From Within is the second book of theHouse Valdis. I HIGHLY suggest you go check out the first book and also the prequel before reading this on, that way you have a full understanding of what’s happening and how Xenobia started out. This one takes place six months after the last book. This is also told from Multiple perspectives which is awesome so you know just how everyone’s feeling and thinking throughout the whole book. Gotta love that, so you are not left saying “i wonder what so and so was thinking right now”. But man i didn’t think this storyline couldn’t get any better than the last I was wrong lol. Naomi Valkyrie writing and world building is fanfreakingtastic. Like I swear this had me in a chokehold until the end.like i had a lot to do today but i kinda blew that off to finish reading this book 😂 oops. I really hope there will be more from this series, until then i will be going to check out some of her other books. 🥰

House Valdis Origins: Xenobia is the prequel to the House Valdis Series. This is not my first time picking up a book by this author or in the series I read The Rise of House Valdis first ( its book number one) so it was great to read this one and have more back story about Xenobia. It was a super quick( about 30 pages) read jam packed with details and intense adventure. I’m on the way mow to read to second book now 🥰 I am really starting to look forward to really books by this author.
Suspense, twists, and unconditional love. This series is already dominating my top five favorite series already. While Drake was sprinkled into book one, and both were in book two, this is finally their time and their story. Dual perspective of Finlay and Drake. Finlay is an investigative journalist, while on a mission in Mexico she met a seventeen-year-old girl, Gabriella, whose younger sister, twelve-year-old Lola, was taken into the worse trading business in the world. Without hesitation Gabriella flew to Paris in search of her sister and ended up in a trap that landed her owned by Evan. A chance moment taken Gabriella called Finlay who without question flew to Paris and went undercover to help. Thanks to her new best friend, Regan from book two, Drake was sent to look out for her on this dangerous mission. Drake had been watching and thought it was an overexaggerated on Regan’s part until he saw the clues and released that Finlay was poking around something far too big for one person to take on alone. All along the way Drake constantly is battling himself and his attraction to Finlay, while she wants him but thinks he hates her and only sees her as his enemy. Drake’s vast dislike of journalists first showed up in book two and continues here. He understands the power of words and how they can hurt people, only he starts to question his hatred of them when it comes to Finlay, she’s not like them. Finlay wants to better the world and safe everyone she can by exposing bad situations. Everything combined leads to some very intense moments but when the boss that even psycho Evan is afraid of is revealed, is anyone going to be safe again? Can Finlay keep her promise to save Gabriella and Lola? Will Drake allow himself to follow his heart? Who is the big boss? What do they have to do with Finlay? The characters, honestly keep you coming back time and time again with each little tease. Especially with Drake popping in here and there and now finally getting his story was chef’s kiss. While his reason for hating journalists was sound, he was unfair to lump them all together. Finlay finally accepts she needs help and that she’s not alone. Every page leads to more shock and awe as the story unfolds and leaves you needing answers. Now I am torn between wanting more of Finlay and Drake and really hoping book four will be about Seb and Alexis. Either way I can’t wait, and I’ll see you there when the time comes.
