I really enjoyed this story. There was a really nice flow to the story. I was amazed to see that there were 10 authors. As a paranormal lover, it’s always a treat to find a romance with lots of goodies in the story. It is set in New Orleans, after all. Nobody thought it too odd that Callum was often seen talking to himself. You can feel a little of every emotion in this story. There are lots of fairies, trolls, and even things that can eat you. Such a fun paranormal tale. It’s an intriguing tale of good coming together to fight evil to save Aeris’s home of Laric. I’m looking forward to reading more of this series as it comes out.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s so exciting to see this in a boxed set. All three books together in one place. These books are so wonderfully written. They are historically detailed in such a way that almost makes you feel that you can see the beauty of the location during that time. You can feel the noise, etc. The characters in each story bring such depth and personality to them. Each story is unique yet tied together by the family piece. Whether as a protagonist in one story or as a supporting character in the other books, these characters will feel relatable. There were times that I felt like I was feeling their emotions. Such beautiful romances in all three books. I would click the buy button for this. Worth having.

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The Winemakers is a great historical romance box set of Book 1-3 in The Winemakers series…its includes The True Purpose of Vines, The Taste of Light and The Truth About Myths. If you are a lover of historical romance with love, banter, secrets, history and taken to beautiful places you can only imagine I highly recommend this series of books….and this is perfect in a box set!

Book 1 – The True Purpose of Vines
This is a historical romance set in Portugal 1870’s. This is a beautifully written story, and I enjoyed being swept up in time. Julia is a strong and passionate woman that is all about keeping her vineyard and producing the best wine, but is also in debt due to her late husband. Griffin, who is all about regaining his family’s status, makes an agreement to get payment from Julia. As the story unfolds, so does the romance between Griffin and Julia. This is a great story of romance, secrets, history and cultural differences….the author did an amazing job with such wonderful details.

Book 2 – The Taste of Light
I would recommend reading book 1 first. I can say that while I did enjoy book 1, I loved this book, being 2nd in the series with my every being.

Can I say……I was not happy with Pedro in book 1….not what so ever and never ever in a million years I would end up liking him so much in book 2…..I know get it…..and my heart…. Pedro is haunted by his past and wants love. Pedro truly believe he once had love, but choice in the matter…it did not happen. A chance encounter and ending up on the run, he meets Anne.

Anne… I loved Anne so much and just her being so kind….she is helping her brother and also travels to help the other neighbors understand and learn how to take care of their vines..and an encounter she meets Pedro…and Pedro at first did not take to kind to Anne…and both end up on the run. Why are they running?

Will Pedro and Anne connect and Pedro find what he is looking for?
Chemistry, banter, intensity for sure…..I Loved Pedro and Anne in this story so much!

Book 3 – The Truth About Myths
Very well written and I can picture beautiful place in Portugal and Spain….The Truth About Myths is book 3 in The Winemakers series. The author is fabulous and her storytelling is amazing. The romance, tension and banter between Henrique and Isabel…I loved it.

When Isabel is asked by the King to go to Spain to help out….it is her duty to do so. What is not anticipated is who is accompanying her….none other than Henrique….which at first was a bit trying. Knowing how proper and set in her ways Isabel is….will she be able to let a bit go and see another side to Henrique and will he fight for her?

Delightful and Wonderful story.

Code Dog by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Shannon Fowler

Code DogCode Dog by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This story is about many things, Cody the Code Dog, a town with secrets, a monster in the woods, kids trying to decipher the code and discover the secrets all the while trying to be kids, homework, chores and creating a band. I’m tired just thinking about their adventures!

The beginning half of this story seems to be all over the place. The three friends, Beth, Timmy and Arthur, are all concerned about their own thing. Beth wants to finish the school project, Timmy wonders about the monster in the woods and Arthur wants to just keep writing songs for their band. They don’t really seem to get along as friends do. But then their teacher needs their help in finding the missing time capsule. Luckily there’s a map with clues, however, those clues don’t really make much sense and there are others looking for the capsule, as well.

Cute story with a cute dog and some very interesting characters. While I do love most of this author’s books, this one wasn’t my favorite. Will continue to read the stories from her and look forward to more.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

These Oscar and Emmy books are always so cute and informative about animals. This one specifically deals with fostering. Charlie and Abby learn so much through fostering three tiny kittens. These books always take real life pet and animal problems and bring them to an age appropriate level for children. Over crowding at animal shelters is a very real, very common thing. This touches on it gently and helps teach about what it’s like to take in kittens, but then to adopt them out so that you can take on more to help with the over population of cats.

This is a cute rhyming story that explains the responsibility of owning a dog. Friends Lora and CJ both want a puppy. Their parents tell them they must learn the ways of dog owning. Puppies are serious lifelong responsibilities. Dogs of any age require care, love and understanding.

This is a cute quick read with a great start to dog ownership.

Detective Dylan and the Hunt for Home Plate (A Youth Sleuths Chapter Book Series 2)Detective Dylan and the Hunt for Home Plate by M.J. Murray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is an easy and cute read for young children. Dylan and his little sister are off to the park to learn and practice baseball with the neighborhood kids. Little did they know that there would be a problem, an adventure to be had, a mystery to solve. Good thing Dylan and Emily have a detective kit and like solving mysteries.

This story was fun to read. I imagine reading it to 1st grade aged children. I love the classroom prompts at the end of the story. This story is fun and educational. My favorite type of children’s books.

The Closer (The Hustlers Trilogy) by Rowan Rossler – Review by Angela Shirley

The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance (The Hustlers Series Book 3)The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

June and Dallas were in stoppable as a duo but when there relationship broke down she swore she would not want anything Dallas has to offer, until now. June’s business is failing and when her investor pulls the plug there is only really one place to go, Dallas.

Although people around town talk about him can I put my feelings aside to help my business or will the clauses he puts in place be for the business or me.

Dallas is thrilled that June has come back into his life, but can he be the knight she requires or will the past be too much for her to forgive. Setting June up with his friend to invest is the best scenario but does she have the feelings I buried ten years ago when she left.

This is the third book in this series and can be read as a stand alone story. Like the others this is full of twists and turns which is a slow burn at the beginning but becomes epic by the end and will have you scrambling to finish to see what happens. The character of June was brilliant and sassy, full of what she wanted and was not afraid to go after it. Dallas is a fiery Alpha make character which with June make an explosive couple. The secondary characters add an air of twist which is great to read.

I can’t wait to read books for this author.

Touched (Elemental Passions #1)Touched by Skye Turner

Wow, I want book two now. This book was a ride of emotions with so many twists and turns. The characters draw you right into the story and grip your heart. Aeris, our main female character, is a rule breaker at heart even though she really doesn’t mean to be, She finds herself in the human world often. Just usually watching people. She isn’t supposed to cross the barrier into the human world but she just can’t help herself. She uses glamor so no one can see her until one day when detective Callum is able to see her and the story continues from there.

I was so intrigued with this story. I could have kept reading for hours more. I really really need the next book.

I am loving this series! This is the second book in the Life is Hell series, and I cannot wait to read more. This one is just as good as the first, if not better. I love when a series takes a side character from the first book, and gives them their own story. We still see characters from the original, but you get to experience more. There are just as many supernatural elements in this one as the first. If that’s your thing, then you will love this book!

Before You Say I Do by Marina Hanna – Review by Angela Shirley

Before You Say I DoBefore You Say I Do by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emma is working her way to becoming a Sommelier but with school, work and an Ex- boyfriend she would rather forget she has no time for a relationship. Hook ups are fine but need to leave by the morning as she does not want to get her heart broken again, but when a handsome, dashing man walks into the bar she may have to rethink her whole dating life.

Liam is a player, he gives them a night and then by the end of it they need to leave. His notion on marriage and relationships is that they are not worth the energy as his only reference is his parents marriage which is non-existent, but when he meets Emma she crawls under his skin and he is doing couplie things he would not imagine him doing. So when he offers Emma an agreement can both of them come away with their hearts in tacked, you will have to read to find out.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was brilliant flowing story. Emma was just the right amount of sass and wanting to be a wine waiter was a refreshing change to the normal career paths people go down. Liam is a confident, powerful man but in his interactions with Emma they are soft and kind, showing at times his vulnerability in his character.

The story is well developed and fast paced and the chemistry between the two characters is brilliant, the slow burn of the relationship makes it more appealing to keep reading to see if in the end their is a happy ending for the two of them. I could have done some serious damage to her ex-boyfriend but it all works out in the end lol.

Can’t wait to read more books from this author in the future.

A different kind of cozy…
Elena del Carral has been invited to dance in a Gala Performance by none other than Derek Michaels, founder of the world-renowned Terpsichore Ballet in New York City. She’s also been invited to audition for Black Rhapsody, the unfinished ballet from the late choreographic master, Rene Fauchier. Delighted, Elena accepts the invitation, knowing this performance will enhance her career, not only as a principal dancer, but also as an up-and-coming choreographer, as well.
But Elena holds a secret, too, one which revolves around Black Rhapsody itself. Unfortunately, no one warned Elena, when she arrived in New York, that such revelation would spark a chain of events that would involve attempted murder and finding an almost dead body in the rehearsal hall.

Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra is an award-winning, bestselling author with a unique point of view: to give her readers and fans thrills and kills, with a twist. Her characters are placed in danger in ingenuous ways while, at the same time, her novels are set in locales across Europe and the United States, reflecting her international upbringing and extensive time as a Cuban exile and global traveler.

The author’s writing career began circa age thirteen with a very juvenile science fiction short story; but the writing bug hit, and she has been writing, in one capacity or another, ever since. She has worked as a professional dancer, singer, journalist, and literature teacher in both the university and middle school levels (and not necessarily in that order) and holds a Masters in English literature. She comes from a very distinguished line of ballet dancers in the international ballet world: her mother, Elena del Cueto, prima ballerina and choreographer in Cuban ballet, TV, and theater; her father, Alberto Alonso, dancer and choreographer, original member of the Ballet Russes de Colonel W. de Basil and Cuban ballet; her uncle, Fernando Alonso, dancer and teacher of the Cuban ballet and American Ballet Theater; and her aunt, Alicia Alonso, prima ballerina of the Cuban ballet. Ms. Alonso has been dancing with her mother since the age of seven, until she retired from dancing altogether.

All her novels have received different accolades, including gold, silver and bronze medals, as well as honorary mentions from respected book award institutions. Ms. Alonso-Sierra is currently writing full-time and loves to hear from her fans and readers. When not writing, she roams around to discover new places to set her novels.

If this is the end if the series as I have been hearing the title is definitely fitting. This enemies to lovers has plenty of drama. June and Dallas also have plenty of chemistry and it oozes off the pages. June and Dallas have known each other for a while. Something went wrong over a decade ago and June swore never to work with the man again. However, due to an investor backing out of financing the business she is trying to start she is in a pinch. Dallas, ever the knight in shining armor, knows a guy in Argentina. Is it safe to take money from a stranger? Overall this series has been a good one to read and can all be read as standalones.

The Changed Man (The Olympic Peninsula series Book 4)The Changed Man by Cat Treadgold
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book of the The Olympic Peninsula Series. This release was much anticipated. I couldn’t wait to be immersed into this world again. Now we finally get to have Jake’s O’Connell POV. I was waiting to see if we’d get his redemption story. This one follows Jake and Chiara’s ups and downs through the book. And ups and downs they are lol get ready to feel the feels reading this. The author always outdoes herself the more she continues to write this series.i love that we got to see the characters from the previous books. I always love when an author does that, because I often wonder about them after their books end. Jake definitely has become one of my favorite characters and I can’t wait til I see more of him in the next book. Speaking of which The 5th book The Fallen Man comes out in june of this year and i truly can’t wait to see how Cat Treadgold tops herself 🥰

This chapter book is for more ages of 8-12 years, although I think it depends on the child’s reading level. It’s a lovely adventure of the best friends on a mystery quest to find a time capsule. There’s plenty of intrigue to keep the reader turning the page to see what happens next. I liked the dog character. If I had a dog like that when I was a kid, there would be plenty of adventures for sure!

The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance (The Hustlers Series Book 3)

The chemistry is obvious before they are in the same room and the sparks get harder to ignore the more time they spend together.

I think this may be my favorite of the series and that is saying something. I think the increase of animals might have something to do with it. The dogs are common, but there are a few I don’t think I have ever seen in a book

June and Dallas go from not speaking for two years to working together and move to something deeper while their friends watch it all happen.

I’m guessing this is the end of this series, but would not be upset to see more books featuring some of the background. I will be keeping up with Ms. Rossler and her releases.

The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance (The Hustlers Series Book 3)The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Closer is the third, and last book in The Hustlers Trilogy, but the second book I’ve read in this series. All of the books are standalone novels that have different tropes. The Closer is an enemies to lovers, dark, romance novel about Dallas, June, and second chance romance. This book was very much like book one in that there was drama, action, spice, chemistry, and secrets. I loved the setting, characters, and the witty banter. Although a little slow to get going it picks up and gets more interesting. Rowan Rossler has a well written, richly detailed, fascinating series on her hands.

The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance (The Hustlers Series Book 3)The Closer: An enemies to lovers dark romance by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Closer by Rowan Rossler is book three in the Hustlers series. This is the first and only book that I have read and although I’m sure there would have been more things that I would have understood if I read the others, I had no issue with this as a stand-alone. This was a fast read for me because I was truly sucked into the story. I had to know what was going to happen between Dallas and June. And let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. A little shocked because of the twists I actually didn’t see coming but not disappointed. Needing help from someone wealthy and great in the business world, June puts her big girl undies on and all but begs for Dallas to help her. She just needs his money, nothing else…. Right? Phew, the lust and angst felt between these two is enough to get you to the end as fast as possible. Definitely made me want to go and check out other books by this author!

Planting Seeds: Growing Mindful Children Though Yoga by Janice Pratt and Lenora Degen – Review by Kristan Anderson

Planting Seeds: Growing Mindful Children Through Yoga (Yoga for Kids: Lesson Plans for the Teacher Book 1) by Janice Pratt and Lenora Degen was very cool and perfectly laid out. I personally am homeschooling my daughter and found this book to be an amazing resource for us! My daughter is very interested in seeds and gardening so having the “seed” theme made it that much more interesting to her. She loved it. Although we have not made it through the entirety of the book yet, I’ve read it and we have talked about what there is to come and we are excited. The lesson plans are laid out in a very easy to understand way. There are different activities including music, art, the obvious yoga posing and games. But my favorite was the gratitude journal (which I had to help because she doesn’t write yet) and the affirmations. So cute and so fun! Each thing is set up for a group but I found it easily adaptable for just her and I. Neither of us are huge into yoga and as we are beginners, I never felt as if we were behind or I was incapable of teaching the poses. Truly cannot wait to do our next lesson. The resources at the back of the book were very helpful to me. I am overall pleased with this book and think that while it is a great resource for homeschoolers, that it would be great in a classroom setting as well.

Laura is an older woman. She joins a book club and becomes fast friends with the ladies. Sylvie tells Laura she should try pet sitting all over the world. Be able to travel and find herself now that her husband has passed. Laura goes to the UK and pet sits for one couple. One day she’s walking the dogs and literally runs into a very handsome man Hugh. They end up spending a lot of time together, Hugh helps Laura figure out her family tree. Laura is enamored by Hugh and wants to stay longer in the UK to know this man.<br />You have to go read this because anything else will spoil! This had me laughing and a little teary eyed. I absolutely love this. I would love a second part to this book for Laura, Hugh, Georgina and Anthony.

This book was a classic romance with a twist. It has great murder mystery and romance. It keeps you going trying to figure out who did it. It’s wonderful to see the progression of the characters as well.

Wow!!! This story had me on edge the whole time. So much happening and the fear in your mind something will. The story did take some turns I was not expecting. I loved that June and Dallas had met previously and it added to the story in a dynamic way. Navarro will have you tense and swooning all at the same time. This story will pull at your heartstrings and keep you reading late into the night to just see what is going to happen next. This is the first book I have read from this author and I have to say it won’t be my last. I’ll be looking for the other books in this series. Excellent excellent entwining of characters.

This is the first book I have read by this author. There ate three books in the series with this being the last, however , it can be read as a standalone.
It is an enemy to friends book filled with romance, lust, love, drama, mystery and much more. It leaves you sitting on the edge wanting more. A page turner, and lots of twists and turns. A very good book.

What an amazing and helpful guide to teach kids about yoga, healthy habits, and mindfulness! I have two kiddos, ages 8 and 12, and I will say that the author targeted this book perfectly for that audience. We absolutely loved reading through it together and learning about kindness and self-awareness. The activities in the book are perfect for all levels, and we really enjoyed doing them together. I enjoyed the author weaving the thought of plants in comparison to ourselves because sometimes I feel that’s a barrier with teaching kids self-care. When you can relate it to something they can see and understand outside of their own bodies, it helps connect the dots so to speak. I also loved the affirmations included as well! Even if this doesn’t seem like your cup of tea, I implore you to give it a go for the little ones in our life at home or work.

Family Ties Family Lies by Jacqueline Boulden – Review by Heidi Sturgess

Family Ties Family LiesFamily Ties Family Lies by Jacqueline Boulden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was just a reminder again of 2 things 1) that secrets always have a way of coming out and 2) sometimes ignorance is bliss because what we don’t know won’t hurt us ….

Rose ( love the name ) is a photojournalist and os injured ( more like trampled) while at a rally that turned a little wild so her camera is broken , she’s a little worse for wear with bruised ribs and an arm in a sling and now she’s got to go home to help with her mother after receiving a x CD all from her aunt and right now heading home is the last thing on her want to do list …..,

Rose’sI’m is diagnosed with terminal cancer and she calls her brother Kirk to come home and she uncovers what looks like a mystery in their family attic when she finds books , a travel bag and photo albums that hints at her father having another life and with her mum not answering her million questions and asking her to let sleeping hogs lies her curiosity is peaked even more ….

I loved every minute of this read , I learnt a few life lessons , I cried, I laughed , I got frustrated and irritated , I was reminded about how fragile life is and the liberating power of saying I’m sorry and forgiveness and I met some interesting characters along the way .

This is one of those books that when you read the last page you need some time to “ process “ it’ll stay with you ❣️📚
