My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book gets a solid 4/4.5 stars. I really want to give it a 5 star review but I can’t. Let’s discuss everything amazing in this story. It is a second chance love but not love story. The main characters loved each other in the past. They both have issues that they were dealing with growing up. Then the leading male character goes away to become a rockstar. After years of wondering and remember how amazing they used to be the leading female runs away to join him. This has me all drawn into the book wanting to keep the pages turning. They meet but he doesn’t remember her and there are now other issues that they didn’t have growing up. The book is really centered-around what it probably would have been like to be a groupie in the 80’s. It does give you the feel of fast times of rock and roll with everything one could imagine happening backstage. All of this is amazing and the story is really well done. The thing that lowers the stars for me is how frustrated I was getting at the characters. I at times wanted to reach into the book and smack them. The ended had some redeeming qualities for the characters but the majority of the book (after they reunited) had me frustrated. I continued to read the book because the story line was that good. I just really couldn’t support the characters at points throughout the book. That said, it is an amazing read just go in knowing you probably aren’t gonna love the characters until the very end.
