My son and I love reading Oscar and Emmy books together. They are fun and educational. While we live no where near the coast, and will likely never encounter a hurricane, we enjoyed Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane. I like that after the story it has facts about hurricanes, so we can learn a little more. Abby and Charlie are preparing for a hurricane to hit their home town, and their parents engage them in helping prepare for their pets Oscar and Emmy as well. They also teach us about when to evacuate and move to somewhere safer. These books are wonderful for children to learn about the topic of the story, in a less scary way.
