The Apothecary’s Curse is the first book in The Apothecary Series by Barbara Barnett. This story had so much going on, with historical fantasy, some darker tones, sci-fi elements, a steampunk vibe, some horror themes, mystery, suspense, a quest, secrets, supernatural elements, immortality, destiny/fate, and plenty of drama.
Two men, an elixir, immortality, and an ancient manuscript led to a thrilling adventure. The author has crafted a very detailed and descriptive tale, full of texture and vivid imagery. It is a very original story with some clever touches that made for an intriguing read.
Looking forward to ‘Alchemy of Glass’ (Book #2).
