Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett

5 out of 5 Stars

Wow!!  There is not much about these characters that I don’t love.  I love the family that they have built.  I love the sisterhood of Old Ladies.  I love that each one has their own story but brings something special to the club.  I adore the fact that each new book, while dedicated to the individual story, has an overarching tale of the club, the family.

Ella dreamt of someone to love her.  Ella dreamt of a man like the ones in the MC romance novels she read.  When Ella ran into a friend from high school that had an in at an MC, Ella thought she could live out her romance dreams.  When her dreams turned into a nightmare, Ella had to walk away from the only man she would ever love.

Slick never wanted an Old Lady.  Slick never saw himself in a relationship.  When he first saw this new Sweetbutt prospect, Slick knew that if she agreed he would never want his brothers touching her.  Slick had a special mission for this new girl, Ella.  If she could handle this special mission, Slick knew that he would claim her.

Ella completes her mission.  Slick declares that Ella is his Old Lady.  Ella doesn’t tell Slick what happened on her mission for the club, but what happened drives Ella away.  When Ella comes back needing Slick’s help, Slick is angry and hurt.  He decides to listen to Ella about why she is reaching out to him.  When what really happened on Ella’s mission is revealed, Slick knows that he needs to give Ella space, time, and all of his love.

There is so much more to this story than just Slick and Ella’s romance, although it is hot enough to cause my headphones to steam!!!  There is family loyalty.  There is redemption.  There is discovering strength you never knew you had.  There is resilience.  There is brotherly and sisterly love.  There is so much more.  I yelled at the story.  I laughed.  I almost cried.  I think this one was the best one so far!!  I can’t wait to hear what is next.  This is a great listen!!  This author keeps you engrossed in the story and ALL the characters from the first words to the last.

Slick Running by Manda Mellett

Narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister

Five Stars

This is the third book in the Satan’s Devils Mc series by this author. All of the books have been FIVE + stars for me. If you like MC’s you should read/listen to all of the books in this series and the spin offs. Slick and Ella are my new favorite couple of this MC club. The stories is full of a rough bike lifestyle, so it is not for the faint of heart.

Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister do a great job bringing the characters to life. Their voices are easy on the ears and they blend amazingly well together. I highly recommend these audibles and look forward to the next great listen by this author.

What an adrenaline ride! From the beginning the story grabs you. It’s well-written with a plot full of twists, turns and lots of adventures. The characters are all quite the personalities, and yet, somehow they all blend into a terrific story that you just can’t stop listening too. The narration is again done by fantastic narrators. They keep you engaged and wanting to find out what’s going to happen. I love this series and I have been reading it on Kindle. The narration just grabs you and gets the adrenaline going because you can feel that action even more when the story is read. Overall, I would give this more than 5 stars if I could. Terrific story that will keep you going until the last page. I highly recommend it.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Robin Rankin

Slick Running is the third book in this series, narrated by Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister.  I loved this book and this series.  I have listened to the first two in the series and read several of the others and I cannot get enough of the Satan’s Devils.

Slick isn’t a character that stands out in thr previous books but I loved listening to how he and Ella meet and how they were able to overcome all of the obstacles.

Ms. Kline and Mr. McAllister did an amazing job bringing Slick and Ella’s along great with other characters to life.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Deb Robinson

I can not even begin to say how much I loved this book.  The author has an amazing talent of taking 4 plots and seemingly knitting them together in one heck of a suspenseful tale.  Her way of bringing the characters to life makes you believe you know them or might want too.  The story begins with a bang of lies and perhaps misplaced trust causing trauma that will haunt you throughout the book. This is a heartbreaking story of pain, death, abuse, and unwavering loyalty to the MC brotherhood. If I could give this book 10 stars I would.  This is the best book yet I have read from this author.  The narration is superb and makes you envelope the story even more.  You will have all sorts of feelings as you listen to the story.  I even physically shuttered while listening.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Cindy Mayberry

This is Slick and Ella’s story. Ella is a strong independent woman. When her little sister gets into trouble, Ella goes where she knows she can get help. But Ella broke Slick’s heart, and he wants nothing to do with her. Slick needs to listen to Drummer as well as Ella. He also needs to open communication between him and Ella. Find out what really happened to Ella. Can Slick  and Ella work through their issues? Will Slick open his heart back up? Will Ella learn to trust the one thing she hates? Once again this author has rocked this MC Club. I knew before I opened this book, I would be here for the long haul. The rollercoaster is non stop, emotionally dramatic. This author has left me wondering and waiting for the next book. I have read every book in this series. It still amazes me that every book is new and the main characters revisit each book. Saying  that I recommend you start are the very beginning and follow along with the Men and Women of the Satan’s Devils. You won’t be disappointed!

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Amanda Glaspie

Another great addition to this series. I loved the fact that it seamlessly brought past events and intertwined them to current time. In this book, we follow Slick and Ella, who both thought they lost each other and only to reunite. This book does not disappoint with it’s strong emotions and heartfelt worry. Once again, the Satan’s Devils prove that they are a different club and with their heroic actions make us fall in love with them. I loved how in this book, there was a strong emphasis on consent. The way Slick treated Ella is how every man should treat a woman. Another great book.

If I could I would totally insert the crying emoji first for this audiobook! What a way to start the third book in this series! Talk about emotional!! Slick is one of those characters that when you start listening about him you really question him and his personality but he’s been hurt and I can kind of understand him but it really didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him just as I have with the other brothers in this MC. Once he realised what had happened to Ella that MC protectiveness took over! As well as the amazing writing from this author the narrator really managed to bring this story to life and certainly added to the emotional parts of it even more!

A fantastic 5-star audio book that I highly recommend you listen to!

Slick Running has me on edge from the start. Poor Heart. I am so investedinto all the characters in this series. I have got to say the narrator of yhis story do a great job. I cried so much at the start. Ella has a shock to the system meeting these bikers. What can change in her life. This is such a gripping story and really gives you a wider presticve on the world. Oh wow this one had me weeping, crying, cheering, so reflective. I really enjoyed the narration as well. My god there so much packed into one book.

This is not my first audio by this author but it is really worth the listen too.  I enjoyed how the narrator’s tones of voice made the story engaging and left me wanting to listen to more.  They brought the characters to life and kept it engaging.  This is Slick’s story from the Satan’s Devils MC series. His story is a little sad but second chances could mean a happy ever after for him.   I loved the characters and what they brought to the story.  They are strong, steamy and connectable.   This is great audio that I highly recommend.  This is a must listen to and you don’t want to miss it.

It had been awhile since I read this ebook and of course jumped at the chance to have it read to me once again. She did an amazing job picking her narrators for this book and I literally listened to it in a little over a day including breaks.

This one came right out of the shoot tearing at my emotions, and I’m not sure those emotions ever evened out. This one kinda sorta has two storylines, one started back in book #1 and I love the way that was all handled..took me a second and I was like whoa hold on this sounds familiar then I actually went back and paid attention to the times given to me at the beginning of the chapters.

My heart is still completely broken and there’s parts of this book that will still play out later and I’m actually not looking forward to those because I know they aren’t going to be easy. Not going to go into any of that because you really just need to pick this up to appreciate all of the emotions.

Slick has absolutely positively won every ounce of respect I can muster up, I felt so bad for him because he didn’t know the whole story about Ella and what she went through and acted rashly, as well as how Ella was dealing with it all. There are alot of moving parts to this whole book, and in some ways it’s because I know what is to come down the road. This is now another of my favorites from all of these series, although I’ve read them all I still can not wait now to grab every audible going forward.

Please do yourself a favor and lose yourself in this Satan’s Devils world…it is absolutely positively no doubt about it my favorite MC of all books I’ve ever read!

Hanging Softly in the Night, A Detective Nick Larson Novel by Maria Elena Alonso Sierra

Narrated by Charles Kahlenberg

This is a new author and series to me. I thoroughly enjoyed this story that kept me guessing until the end. It definitely can be listened to as a stand-alone, but I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of the books in this series. This book was filled with mystery and kept me listening long into the night.

The narrator of this book is also new to me. At first, I wasn’t sure if I could listen to the whole book, but after about a chapter the narrator grew on me. It had just been quite a while since I listen to a book with one narrator. Lately I have listened to duet narration. This book really took on a life of its own once I got into the storyline.

Hanging Softly in the Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel AUDIO BOOK by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra- Review by Lauren West

I dreaded every moment I had to pause listening to get back to my everyday existence. This was a story that was good to read, but amazing to hear. The narrator had the perfect voice to fuel your imagination of a detective on the hunt. I was enraptured with this book, and felt transformed into the story itself the more I read. The mystery, romance, suspense, and dramatic intensity only help to draw you in more. As the story unfolds you see Detective Larson become more entangled in the complexities of the suicide case, handling issues with his lady love, and becoming a man pushed to the limits. Can he solve this puzzle and will it be in time?

Hanging Softly in the Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel AUDIO BOOK by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Alexandria Richard

4/5 Stars.

A true detective novel. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book and the hunt for the truth that occurs. Nick is your quintessential NYPD detective, looking for the truth and connecting the dots of things that most others wouldn’t see. Here the hunt is on for someone who is either assisting in others’ suicides, or is making it look like others are committing it. It’s literally a race against the clock to save people.

I’m not one to try and guess the outcome of the mystery in books but the answer to the “whodunit” here shocked me; I did not see that one coming. I enjoyed the touches of romance and building of relationships for the NYPD people, depicting them as well rounded individuals, rather than one dimensional. I also enjoyed the “side story” of Sandra and Laura. I have not read any other novels or stories by this author but it sounded like it was a continuation from another book in this series and it makes me want to go hunt it down.

I did listen to the audiobook of this novel and the narrator was pretty good. I enjoyed his inflection and his pace, however I did notice there were issues with pauses and such during what seemed like readings of other things, like reading a suicide letter or something else someone wrote. I’m not sure if that’s from editing or the way it was written out for the narrator, but it made me withdraw from what I was hearing. Overall, good bordering on great performance.

Content warning for explicit descriptions of death and suicide.

Hanging Softly in the Night: A Detective Nick Larson Novel AUDIO BOOK by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra – Review by Amanda Glaspie

Detective Nick Larson is a called to an apparent suicide but not everything is at appears. I really enjoyed this book with the many twists and turns and complete shock at the end. It did get confusing at times as character development was a little off with backgrounds and it felt like several stories combined into one. After a few chapters however, I was able to differentiate each character and their particular personality. I can see how the character introductions and development these the book open for more in the series and would continue with the series. Overall, I did enjoy the book and would recommend.

This book is filled with twists and turns.  The suspense is off the charts.  Once you get hooked, you won’t be able to stop listening.

Nick Larson is a homicide detective with skeletons in his closet.  When a case brings those skeletons out, Nick must manage his emotions, the case, and blossoming relationship.  As Nick and his partner dig further into what appears to be a suicide, all the signs are pointing to homicide.  As the cases pile up, Nick notices a connection that might point to a serial killer.

Will his skeletons keep him from figuring the case out?  Can his new romance survive his job?

The author builds on the characters developed in this series to keep one hooked.  It was a wonderful listen.  Can’t wait for the next chapter in this saga.

I don’t have a lot of experience with audiobooks, but I thought I would give my favorite genre a try in an audiobook. It did not disappoint. I loved that the narrator used different voices for the characters. That made it easier for me to follow and understand which character was speaking and when. This was an excellent first choice for me. Overall I thought it was very well done, and held my attention throughout.

I read this as a book several months back and enjoyed it. When I saw that it had come out as an Audible I wanted to hear it. The narrator is great!! His gritty voice gives it that perfect cop tone. The story with audio gives it so much more. It was as I’d pictured in my head: gritty cop; hard case; rough life. Absolutely fantastic! The story is well-written. It starts right off with action that grabs you by the wrist and says “come with me.” The characters are very relatable. Nick’s pain is palpable. I recommend this story to all who love cop mystery.

This audio book was such a fantastic listen! I wasn’t 100% sure when I first read the synopsis but once I started it I was hooked from beginning to end. The author’s writing was fantastic, so gripping and engaging – it didn’t change the whole way through the book either. The characters were complex and the story was multi layered – it honestly is one of the best books that I have listened to this year! I can’t believe I have never come cross this author previously but that will absolutely change now I cannot wait to get my hands on more of her work!

As well as the amazing story the narrator was great too, really brought the story to life!

Amazing! The first book in this series is read by the same two narrators and they are both amazing! Their voices fit the characters so well, they must be in a biker gang! This story line was crazy! It started off dramatic and mesmerizing and just got more and more crazy from there! Listen to this book series! You will not regret it!

Best Audio Story Yet

The author has done it again!!! I’ve read another of her series, so I was really excited to sink my teeth into another of her fantasy series. With her story, and the narration this is easily my favorite audible. The narrator did an absolutely phenomenal job bringing this story to life. I haven’t ever heard anyone do quite so many different vocals, and do them WELL.

This dark, intense, and highly action packed story is gripping from beginning to end. I picked it up and simply couldn’t put it down. It was a little raunchier than I was expecting, so I had to take some breaks. The main character can be a bit of a rake. I would have liked to see a little more character development, which may be happening in his next adventure.

All in all, I can’t wait to read the second book and find out what happens next.

Captivating with a shocking ending. Following Ian Troy as he navigates how to save the kingdom from war and other powerful shinrees all while battling his own demons. This is a story that will have you wondering what’s next. Initially I struggled to get into the book but it didn’t take long that I found myself not wanting to stop listening. The narration was fantastic and helped be to tell the story. The character development was strong especially when you think you’ve figured out a character and it all changes. I am definitely ready for the next bookin this saga.

I fell in love with the various voices of the actor. He did a fabulous job making this audiobook relaistic and knowing when a different character was speaking. That makes an audiobook 100% better because of the performance. The book was packed with adventure, thrill, and passion. The twists and turns in the storyline kept me listening for hours. Just like we all learned from Once Upon A Time, all magic comes with a price. With the main character of this story, he truly had a price to pay with the crown stone he came upon and used in anger 10 years past. He now has to help his people as well as the citizens for magic is beyond the horizon about to be used for evil. There are many dramas with family, enemies, friends, and mutual acquaintances, and every single one is great to listen to. If you like reading about magic, try this one out!

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Robin Rankin

This is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC series and I’m completely obsessed with this series.  I started reading further into the series and had not had the opportunity to go back and get caught up with the older books.  When I saw she was releasing the series on Audiobook I was so excited that I was going to get caught up.

Drummer is the President of the Mother chapter of the club and is quite content with his life until he meets a damsel in distress.  She flips his world upside down pretty quick.

The narrators did an amazing job bringing Drummer, Sam and the rest of the club to life for me and I found myself going on a drive just to get a little more listening time that day.

These books are standalone, but it is so helpful to listen/ read in order so you know the back stories.

Looking forward to the next book to be released, hoping the narrators are good as Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister if they are the ones.
