Every great book starts with a kidnapping. Intrigued by a kidnapping Trey decides to investigate but nothing prepared him for Hailey. Amy once again decides to write about a hard hitting issue, self confidence. Reading about them fighting not only each other, their enemies, but themselves too made for an interesting dynamic. If your not following this series I highly recommend it. From book one I’ve been captivated and I can’t wait to see where this goes.

This book was hands down unstoppable good! This is the first book of this series and I can not wait for more! The story of Ember develops from her being lost, alone, an orphan into finding her place in a community she wasn’t prepared to find her future in. Gavyn caught me off guard in how he quickly changed as he realized Ember was more than just a thief. How he spent time “spying” on her and checking in all the while he was developing some feelings for her. I love how the author captured this and showed his softer side further on in the book. Jade, Zoie and Ada are the girlfriends we all want around. The build up to the excitement within the story was slower than I like but the details she gives on the background of these communities and the main characters history. I myself can not wait for more from this series. I like that it isn’t your typical book about magic and different “creatures”. It showed a different side of magic and how it could be a good thing when the right opportunity presents itself.

This was a great short story and one that I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed the authors writing and also was a great introduction to her as a new author. The story was easy to follow and I really liked the characters Rafe and Cheyenne, they truly were in love but due to Rafe’s arranged marriage they couldn’t be together and then there was Meredith – Rafe’s soon to be wife! She was not a nice one!! Overall a fun read and one that I would recommend!

I really enjoyed this young adult fantasy adventure. The author has done an amazing job with researching history and the Norse mythology which really brings this story to life and makes it believable. The story of action packed with twists and turns around every corner.
This all starts with a story about Finn’s grandfather. This story revolves around a witch and a family curse. Gripped by the story and to know more Finn and his brothers set out to find out the truth of the story. However they get more than they were expecting when they find the actual witch. This story is action packed with battles and mysteries and a curse that takes over Finn’s life. This is a great captivating read and I can’t wait to see what happened next.

This is the last book in this Vampire Series. It is also the fifth book. It would be beneficial to read them in order as there is not much context in this book, for the previous installments. I typically do not choose paranormal or vampire books to read, but I decided to give this series a shot! The artwork on the cover immediately drew me in. Plus a rockstar female leads the show.
Rowena continues her badass actions in essentially deciding the fate of the empire. I was greatly impressed with this author’s ability to continue on with so much excitement in this series. Unexpected twist at the end, and so much sadness knowing this was the true end of this series.
If you like danger, excitement, and things a little weird – this series will keep you busy for a while!

Without spoiling anything, it has a lot of mystery, murder, and of course romance. The story has bite (pun absolutely intended) and keeps me wanting to continue reading, even when I should be doing other things. I definitely didn’t understand what I was diving into when I decided to read The Wolf’s Shadow. It’s bizarre but good. I’m used to werewolf romances and mysteries. Definitely a mystery, however I think this is the first time I read a book that shines werewolves in this light. The author brings a whole new aspect to the idea and one can’t help but get sucked in. Joanie, inheriting her grandfather’s 500 million estate, and ends up starting life over. Almost dying in her lab’s fire and losing her job, why not start a new life elsewhere. With her best friend Lonna in tow they set off to Crystal Pines. Little did they know they were about to get thrown into the world of child kidnappings and the supernatural. The author takes us on an up and down ride of their investigation. Joanie to find out what happened to her grandfather, and Lonna the missing children. Things are starting to look like the two are connected. To find out more you’re just going to have to jump in and check it out for yourself!

I really love this series of books. Unbirthday gifts should be a normal thing. I read this book with my 6 year old and I truly enjoy the conversations that it opens between us. I like to ask her what would she be afraid to hear if she could hear others thoughts. What kind of problems would her rock help her solve. This is a great story to read with your child and explore ideas that may not normally just come to us.

I really like finding books by new to me authors. Cecilia Dominic is one of those authors. This story has a great story line and is easy to follow even with the questions that arise while Joanie Fisher tries to figure out what happened to her grandfather, her lab and the strange feelings she has about the things happening around her. The characters in this story are very easy to like, of course except those bad guys, once we discover who they really are. The universe of werewolves isn’t a new one, but this story takes a different look at it. Since this story was so good, I will definitely read more from this author. Long Shadows is book 2 and I am ready to start reading it and see what happens to Lonna

The Cabin Girl was my first thriller/murder mystery themed book and my first book of Swyers. I felt that this book was a nice introduction to the genre. The story develops nicely, keeping you intrigued. The character development flows with the story and I enjoyed the relatable timelime/period.

Fun, sexy, quick. Nope, I was not explaining my night. I was explaining this romance cook! I definitely recommend it for someone who wants to read something a little spicy, that is a pretty quick read, because I got hooked right in. Immediately I was drawn to the cover. Simply enticing.
This story surrounds Juliet, Ten and Gage. Juliet and Ten are best friends trying to :”live it up”. Ten tries out underground fighting, hence the title. This is where Gage comes in the picture. Every girl wants a bad boy, right? Which one will Juliet possibly choose? Or will she choose both? 😉

I love fantasy and I really enjoyed this book. It’s the first in a series, and I really enjoyed the mix of romance, politics, and magic all contained within this story. It’s full world-building that feels very integrated into the plotlines and revealed gradually throughout the book. But there is also a lot to Ember’s character development which I really enjoyed, as well as her falling in love with Gavyn, and all of the characters are well-drawn and complex. I will definitely be reading the next in this series.

An extremely well done look into what happens if suddenly a subset of the population suddenly changes… You can suddenly change your eye color, move things with your mind… cool right? No! new things breed mass hysteria and fear and people with abilities are hunted, arrested and attacked…even though they’ve never lifted a finger against others. We meet a few characters who have been through world changing experiences and find themselves thrust into protecting others like them. Do they rally together, or is there traitors in their ranks?
this is an intriguing opener to a world of fantasy and emerging powers I’m interested as to where the author takes this group of characters.

I loved this book! I have to admit when I read the synopsis I wasn’t 100% sure but I’m so glad I gave it a chance, the authors writing was so exciting to read. The action in the book was non-stop and was just an absolute pleasure to read. I loved Nadia and Mitch, together they made an awesome team trying to figure just who was trying to frame Mitch and they weren’t just perfect for each other professionally in my opinion!! I think this book probably has one of the best opening chapters that I have read in a long time – the author definitely grabs your attention that’s for sure! I am really excited to read more from this author again in the future!

The ones that she needs to help cover up before the veil of creatures and worlds are exposed to the fragile humans. She has hunted creature from the torn veil to keep humanity safe for almost a century now. She knows her monsters, but now something is throwing it all off. Something is different. But what is it? Smells and emotions are off. Are these victims really human? Or something else?? People are mutating and she can’t smell anything but human before they combust! Yes they combust! As in up in flames!!! Combusting humans from homeless to high-class are drawing attention so fast that it’s hard to cover up. Dahlia and her human partner (Creed) investigate the deaths but only come up with more questions and even more bodies. The public is on the verge of a major panic that can consume the whole city! Is this a virus? Is it contagious?? She needs to move fast and find what or who is at fault! Can her sidekick help to figure out that is going on? Will the queen step in and just take care of her at the same time? Two birds one stone? Man this book kept me on my toes!! I CAN NOT wait to read the rest in this set!!! I REALLY want this to become a movie! If done right I can totally see this set becoming a movie series!!
This book was absolutely amazing! I have loved this series since book one and could not wait to see what this book held for me. The action started right away. The destruction and travesty were devastating, but Dahlia and her friends chose to fight the evil. The characters have developed so much throughout this series. They are what really make this so good. The evolution of Dahlia while still keeping to her beliefs. The friends she has forged and the new ones she meets along the way.
But the story is what really kept me from not being able to but the book down. The story is so original and gripping. So many things are happening at once. Just when you think it’s over, it’s really just begun. The world the author has created — so descriptive and imaginative. The author weaves this fantastic tale with intriguing characters into a masterpiece.
The last book in the series, the previous books need to be read first. But if you are a fan of urban fantasy, you really need to read this book and series.
All I can say is wow. This is the final book of the series and it definitely delivered. I have said it before, this author’s stories are epic and remind me of some of the great fantasy authors like JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis. The author created a dynamic world and story which I was really loving. I cannot wait to see more from her.
This series just keeps getting better and better. Once again I was delighted by the vibrant world and story that this author created. Dahlia Nite is a heroine that captures your attention and your respect. Taking part in her journey as she works to unravel the mystery that is taking place has been really interesting and fun. This author builds a dynamic world and I enjoyed my time in it.
It’s just an Apocalypse !?! Dahlia is once again working to protect the innocent but this time it might just be too much to bear. Half of her time is missing, she is trying to prevent the apocalypse, and still has to figure out how to repair the Veil between worlds. Will she be able to come up with a solution in time? Will Dahlia be able to prevent the apocalypse? Will she survive it?
I was quickly drawn in and completely absorbed in this story. I didn’t put it down. This the final installment to this series was action packed. I would recommend giving it a read!

Another Dahlia Nite story and its just as good as the others. I have absolutely loved this series, I would recommend reading them in order though. The depth of the characters, how they interact, and where their relationship comes from are all built throughout the series. I also love how while there is a main issue within each story there is also an arch tying them all together. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Dahlia Nite, the shapeshifting, scaled vigilante is back and it is the end of the world, or at least the beginning of the end, everything she thought she knew and trusted has been ripped apart at the seams and she doesn’t know where to go or what to do first and her list has just been added to again. As she recovers from the shock of the city being brought to its knees and the disappearance of half of her team without so much as a note or message to say where they have gone, she has to go on fighting for the place she has come to love and where has almost become home, but for Dahlia, as usual, nothing is straight forward.
First on the list is both to try and stay alive and keep those on her team which are left alive, this is easier said than done as rubble is strewn all over Sentinel City, fires are burning out of control and the skyline has been completely changed by the attack
.Second, she has to figure out a way to stop the blight and halt the spread of this over the linked worlds, while also trying to figure out where it came from and how it adapts to each environment so quickly.
Thirdly she has to find a way to close the exits which are forming as the veil slowly disintegrates and which are popping up all over the place and causing more trouble than they are worth, not to mention the influx of supernatural creatures which are using them.
In place number four, she has the mad scientist who is bent on world domination and who is thriving in the chaos around them and using it to their advantage.
Finally, she has the lovely dragon inside her who she hopes is about to divulge the information she needs to tackle all of the above, but who is also done with being blocked and starts to take matters into their own hands.
With all that commotion, there is no time for grief, emotion or sometimes even to breathe, but as Dahlia makes the hard choices, will she be able to complete all her tasks before the Renewal takes any chance away from her? This is a fast paced urban fantasy adventure full of action, adventure, hurdles and stress come together in this race against the end of the world where secrets and lies obstruct plans and those fighting to stop it are overwhelmed and under pressure to find a solution in the gripping final instalment to the series.
This is such an emotional story. It draws you in completely and just tears at your heart. More than once this book had me in tears as it took me along for the journey. The connection between these characters was about more than just any attraction. You could feel their bond growing with each interaction. This book is definitely one of my all time favourites from this author and it really does add to this series. Yet another fantastic story but such a talented author.

I can’t believe we are here… the final book! Dhalia is here again with her ragtag group of friends/team who really have become her family, her dragon and powers that continue to grow and still fighting the apocalypse of the blight. Can she save the ever shifting city… how about that dragon queen we’ve loved to hate… old enemies…. new enemies loss and gains are all part of this thrilling ending. This entire series was superb and needs to be at the top of your TBR series if you haven’t started!
We are starting with Dahlia and the world she knows being in absolute rubble and ruin. With the blight taking over and coming through and destroying her city, it’s a non stop fight. This is the last and final in this series. Please please read the beginning of the series. The attachment to the characters is an amazing part of the journey.
This book is full of intense emotions and intense feelings. It is a non-stop ride from beginning to end. The wrap up was wonderful. I couldn’t put it down.
I can’t believe this series is coming to an end and what an ending it was! I’ve grown to love Dahlia over this series and I really felt like I was right there with her in this story as she battled to save what remains of her new reality. Again the author wove a really exciting and engaging story that captured my attention from the very beginning and held it until the ending. I felt like Dahlia actually discovered a lot about herself in this. Although I am sad that this series is over I am definitely looking forward to seeing what comes next from them in the future.
