The Curse of a Faeblood by MK Lorber – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

The Curse of a FaebloodThe Curse of a Faeblood by M.K. Lorber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Kingdom of Morvak seems like a great mountain realm with a divide between the peasant class (the territories below) and the magical nobility (the mountain top). But things are changing and the Faebloods are greedy to assert their continued control over the peasant humans. Ember has been raised on the run most her life. All she wants is to find others like her. To belong. Somewhere. Anywhere. She doesn’t know who her father is and her mother is the only family she has ever know. They must stay isolated as much as possible, so no one discovers Ember’s Faeblood, her curse. When her mother is murdered she is forced once again to run, but this time all alone. In the territories she is in more danger of being discovered, but she must find food. The different territories favor strong bodies who are able to fulfill the annual tithe to the Kingdom’s nobility. Ember is caught stealing food by Gavyn; an elite fighter, head trainer, and right hand to the village’s leader. He has a reputation of being hard and defending his family with everything he can. Ember threatens all he tries to protect. Can these two put their passions aside and protect not only themselves but Gavyn’s found family? Will the Kingdom find Ember and kill her for threatening the delicate balance of power in the realm? This is SUCH a great book! I can see this one turning into a movie easy!! You have got to read it! I personally can’t wait to read the others in the set!!
