This was a really good book. This was a quick, steamy and violent book. This is an enemies to lovers, mafia romance. This book was enthralling and entertaining and had a good storyline. However I had a bit of a hard time getting into it because at times it seemed like the timeline would get messed up, or wouldn’t be made clear, and I just felt like there could have been some more filler scenes and information to make it easier to digest. I overall really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next installment. Just be warned this is a dark romance, with explicit scenes and violence.

I don’t know how to feel about this book.
It wasn’t the best but it wasn’t the worst.
The plot was good but it was all steam not much build or burn.
Now I have never DNF’d a book and I am determined not to ….this almost got it.
Maybe because I’m a mood reader the characters didn’t catch me but I enjoyed the story itself.
This was a love hate type of book and the fact it’s a series had me determined to finish and again I just don’t know how to feel.
It just seemed a bit chaotic.
This gave great tension but I lost my place a lot trying to figure out if I missed something.
Warning it’s third person. That is not for me.
I would recommend this for smut, for good story no.
This fell flat for me.
I am sorry, I am going to reread this soon maybe I just wasn’t in the mood.

Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins series. I have read book 2, and didn’t even realize this was from the same series until the very end. So clearly, I like this series, and now I want to read them all. They don’t have to be read in order, and can be enjoyed as stand alone. I was back and forth on if I wanted to read this book- I didn’t like the idea of Luca “stealing” Aly, but I love reading Mafia romance books. I am glad I took the chance, because it wasn’t as gruesome and awful of an event as it sounds. I really liked the development of the characters, and their relationship. I don’t want to give things away, but there is more to the story than the brief description lets on. While Luca is a mobster, killer, criminal, etc, he is also kind of sweet. Aly is strong and I love the life she built for herself. Highly recommend this book (and series) and can’t wait to get the next book in my hands.

Wild Hare’s Daughter by Laura Koerber

This is the first book I’ve read by the author.

Amy.has always dreamt of flying, but she never thought it was a possibility. Her mother has never said who her father was so she starts to dig for answers. Maybe finding her dad will answer some of the questions she has. The quote I chose for Amy is: “I thought you hated the other kids. You said that just like three days ago.”

Bobby finds that his daughter is there and he’s curious. He wonders if she has any of his magic and wants to get to know her. He does know that her mom married a guy in the militia. The quote I chose for Bobby is: “I’ve been counting on humans not being stupid enough to believe in magic. I thought they’d just see this paranormal stuff as dumb.”

Highly recommended for Dystopian lovers.

While it took me a long while to get into this one, Michele Sims did deliver with good character building and great attention to detail. I believe that I would have grasped this book a little better had I read the previous books in the Moore Family Saga, although the information states it can be read as a standalone. I just felt like I was missing some crucial information when I read Face the Fire. I did enjoy the elements included that involved the ups and downs of managing various artists in the music business. It seems like a business that very few are truly cut out for. Couple those ups and downs with the paranormal aspect in the lives of Miles and Bella and you have a pretty entertaining book. Although this was not a favorite of mine, it was still a good story and I look forward to reading more from Michele Sims.

Savage Secrets: An Arranged Marriage Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 4)

How does she write these amazing books time after time?  This is another amazing read by this author who has quickly become one of my favorites.

We finally get Marco and Elana’s story and holy cow was it worth the way.  Just when I thought I figured something out I grind out I’m totally wrong and I loved it.

Marco is the boss of his family and Elena has been in hiding.  They have known one another most of their lives but she was promised to someone else.  Thankfully things happen to change that and wow.

I know these characters are Crime bosses and Mafia Princesses bit I absolutely love each and every one of them.

I am so ready for the next book to come out.

Sinful Vow (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1)

What an introduction to this series.   The sparks started the moment they met and worked their way up into a very hot and volatile relationship.

I have had some nights recently it was hard to sleep so I decided to read, huge mistake. Instead of helping my quiet down enough to sleep I got sucked in and had a hard time putting it down.

There was something intriguing about Luca from the very beginning and the more I learned about him the more intrigued I was.

I have had the pleasure of reading this author before and look forward to getting caught up on this series.

This book has romantic suspense as well as sports. The author does a good job of mixing these two and makes a great sports romance.

She isn’t seeking for Mr. Forever; she is looking for Mr. Right Now. Everything changes when she brings her city’s star football player home, and he begged for more. There’s so much more Leslie McClunis didn’t give up ballet to pursue a career in firefighting because she was told she’d be more successful if she behaved more ‘feminine.’ She’s entitled to curse like a male and toss her one-night stands to the curb in the morning like a guy, in her opinion. As football’s biggest and baddest defensive end, Trevor Hampton isn’t used to being shown the door. He doesn’t like to lose, therefore he wants Leslie for longer than a night. Nothing is going to stop him from getting his hands on his very own firefighting wildcat. Not even a thief of his football team.

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of her books.

This author has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This mafia romance series has quickly become one of my favorite series and I simply can’t wait for out author to give us more. This story was filled with drama, angst, enemies to lovers, and so much more that I devoured it in one sitting. Luca is the perfect leading man with his hight, brilliant blue eyes, and his sexy smile. While Aly is smart and strong, and while she is the illegitimate child of the Mancini family she is still watched and protected by her father. What happens when these two enemies become lovers? You’ll have to read this story to find out for yourself.

This was a great second chance romance. There were steamy scenes and laugh out lout scenes. Looking forward to meeting more of the team in the upcoming stories.

Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins series by this author.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked the way the book switched back and forth between the main characters and I enjoyed that because it was the first book we got quite a bit of background info on the characters before we got to dive into the story. The twists in the storyline kept my attention and kept me wanting to keep reading. I found it hard to put the book down and read it quickly in just two sittings.
This was the first book I had read by this author, and it will not be my last. I am hooked on this series now and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book was an absolutely wonderful read. As a fan of historical fiction, the author really pulled the scenery of the environments into a fantastic adventure itself. The main character, Lizbeth Gordon, deals with a shocking horror in the very beginning that few of us ever want to imagine. Lizbeth then has to go back to her Southern roots where she learns much more than she knew before. The author perfectly portrays the locations and atmosphere. There is nothing quite like learning about the good and bad of where you come from.

In the past I’ve avoided books like this because I was worried they focused more on the spice and less on the plot. This book definitely proved me wrong! It was a page turner from the start and driven by a very interesting storyline. The spice added to the story and didn’t feel distracting or forced. Aly and Luca are meant to be. I love how this story starts from the time that Aly and Luca are young teens and follows them and their special connection until adulthood. From the moment they lay eyes on each other the connection is there pulling them towards each other no matter how much they may want to fight it. The chemistry between them is incredible and it made me swoon watching them grow closer but it is also heartbreaking seeing the misunderstandings that come between them. There is danger, action and so much shocking betrayal that they must face together. There are so many twists in this story that I just didn’t see coming. This is such a good story I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

WOW, WOW, WOW. Absolutely love this series!
In the third installment of the Nite Fire, Dhalia Nite is facing new threats that have forced her to reconcile with her past and face old and new enemies. Along the way Dhalia uncovers secrets from her past that will leave a lasting impact on her, and the continuation of the series. The romance in this book picks up a new level in this book, at least for me anyway (hello chapter 33). Beyond the romance, we see Dhalia grow into her evolve and see just how powerful she may be. This is a fun and intriguing read that I highly recommend digging into!

Loved returning to the world of Orkney, and watching the politics of life in Scotland play out. There are lots of interesting details and facts in this historical work, and they greatly added to the feeling of having transported from reader to inhabitant of ancient Orkney. Watching everyone wrestle with replacing their fearless leader Einar led to some interesting and heated conversations! Once again, a murderer strikes, and unpinning the clues to figure out whodunnit takes a lot of twists and turns. I found this mystery very difficult to guess at, and was surprised at the outcome – I was convinced it was another character! If you like unraveling murder mysteries or are interested in the culture of Vikings and ancient Nordic societies, you’ll likely love this one.

Tomb for an Eagle brings to life the town of Orkney, and all of the colourful citizens and complex relationships at Buckquoy. Solving the mystery of a dead man is difficult without modern technologies, but Ketil and Sigrid follow the clues anyways. Every person in this story has a web of connection to the others – it was a bit arduous at first to keep it all straight, but I’m happy I stuck with it, as it was good fun and a well crafted world. There are some real characters in this story, I especially loved Sigrid – smart and forthright, she has motivations and secrets that were fun to discover as the book wound on. Looking forward to reading the other mysteries in this series!

This series just keeps getting better and better. I really love watching Dahlia Nite grow into a fine person, if being half dragon counts as being a person. The author has put together a very dynamic world and I feel privileged to being a part of it. This story had a lot of twists and turns but Dahlia Nite once again overcame everything thrown at her. I loved her as a heroine and how badass she is as she does it. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves dragons and a strong heroine.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author has once again proved that she is good at what she does. Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins Series.

Luca is the adoptive son of the Rossi’s and he’s looking for revenge. When a meek girl catches him leaving a warehouse after shooting someone he becomes intrigued. He feels it deep in his chest when she’s in trouble and races to save her each time. The quote I chose for Luca is: “It’s not to keep you a prisoner but to keep you safe. I have some work still to do, but I will be coming to bed tonight. We might as well get used to sleeping in the same bed, as we will be doing that for the rest of our lives.”

Aly is the only daughter of her father, but isn’t involved with the family. She is well protected, but she’s also looked down on because she’s a child from the mistress. When she is arranged to marry someone her saviour comes to the rescue. The quote I chose for Aly is: “I’m sorry for everything, Luca. I don’t know why I accepted the poison from my father. You have to believe me that I would never use it to hurt you or anyone in your family. You have to believe me that I love you.”

Highly recommended for Dark Mafia lovers.

Elena has been on the run from the Bratva mafia for years when her cover is blown and Marco swoops in to save her. The two of them have a strained past, but have always had a thing for each other which makes this book so much more riveting. This is such an exciting read, that will leave you wanting more!

This is the fifth book in the Moore Family Saga. I have never read the previous books but boy do I plan to. Who doesn’t like a story of deep love, the importance of family, and the ins and outs of the music industry and the ability of having special secret powers? You instantly get swept up into this story and are yearning to keep reading because you just need to know what is going to happen. There are twists and turns in every chapter. Definitely a page turner and must read!

Amy isn’t normal, a quality she believes is inherited from her absentee-biological-father. This wouldn’t be a bad thing, if being considered ‘magical’ wasn’t a bad thing, and the risk of exposure was small… But after a prions break, thought to be the work of a magical militia, Amy realizes she needs answers as her abilities begin to unexpectedly manifest. I liked how the story was written from two perspectives, Amy and Bobby, because of how well-defined their characters were. This dystopian world drew me in from the start, thanks to the vivid descriptions and complex characters, and held my attention throughout.

This was a quick sci-fi novella that will have you wondering at the possibilities of life outside of our current realm of understanding. We see a different view of life you’d never imagine otherwise, as two hikers meet in what seems to be another world. I enjoyed how different this novella was from the usual sci-fi where other worlds are involved and how the two main characters were able to bridge the age gap and work well together to explore some of that world. The new place Thomas and April find not only intrigues them, but tests their combined survival skills during their exploration, and brings the two together in an easy friendship. This novella does feel like it could be a prequel to what I think could be a promising sci-fi series.
