LOVE this book! Not only goes the author grab your attention with some wonderful detail. Caspian is a man with rough edges. The story goes into how he needs to settle down which he makes very clear he does not want to do but will do it for the good of the company. Paisley the woman he is forced to marry is very family-oriented and nothing like Caspian. This book overall start to finish is a must for your collection.

This book is not at all for everyone but if you are In for a very bumpy ride with a character you can’t do anything but root for this is it. From the very beginning I knew I’d like this book. I just have a thing about the main character going through heck and back and still seeing light at the end of the tunnel when all they should see is darkness. This author wrote some very difficult scenes but they were very well done. That may sound a little weird but I really liked the writing style and the fact that the impossible situation Liz deals with aren’t sugar coated. It’s a well written book and if I could give more than five stars I’d happily do it but I’ll settle for huge five stars. Highly recommended!

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price AUDIO BOOK by C. L. Schneider – Review by Stephanie Colley

The story was phenomenal. It grabbed me in the prologue and didn’t let me go till the end.
It was a great take on magic. It can’t be used without a price, something living has to die. I haven’t heard of that take before that I remember. That part alone had my interest.

The story line was great also. Ian Troy is a Shinree soldier. He has the magic for battle, yet is kills everything and everyone around when doing it.
This type of power is hard to control.

Troy is running from his past. But now he has to go back to battle for his nation. But after vowing to never use his magic again, after a terrible loss, will he be able to help??

The narrator was on point with changing his voice and tone for each character. It made the story worth listening! I would love to listen to more books read by him.

I knew I would be in for a good read from the first page lol. This book started off with a banger that had my mouth open from the first few paragraphs. Caspian and Paisley have a run in and reunite after almost 20 years apart. The catch is, they reunite to have a fake marriage that lasts a year and a day. This book is a good read. I couldn’t read the pages fast enough to find out what would happen next between the two.

I’m a total sucker for a marriage that benefits two main characters kind of book. So I knew going in I’d enjoy it, I absolutely loved it. Caspian and Paisley instantly had me feeling the connection they were about to have for the story. Caspian May just be my favorite male main character this year, he knows what he wants and goes right for it no matter what might stand in his way. Paisley is going through quite a lot and it’s easy to feel for her. Each one brought me so completely into their world that I easily got lost in the pages and hated when it was over. I’ll definitely be adding this one to my reading again list. Five big stars!

A Sweet Christmas : A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richard

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. A Sweet Christmas is a great read. It’s a Sweet Confections Novella and I will be on the lookout for more by her.

Thea owns a bakery and sells everything but cupcakes. She does get asked on several occasions, but the answer is always the same. When Ben comes by looking for them he catches her attention. The quote I chose for Thea is: “He’s probably one of those rich and cocky playboys. The type that’ll say all the right things so they can get laid. Maybe he was fishing to see if I had a boyfriend or better yet, maybe he thought I would be easy.”

Ben is falling fast for Thea. He didn’t think things would work out for him, but things are going good so far. He enjoys spending time with her and can’t think of anything else, but being with her. The quote I chose for Ben is: “I’m thinking breakfast for dinner. They make the best pancakes in the entire Pacific Northwest.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

This is my first book by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I liked it. This book has a little bit of everything; secret service, mafia, romance, action, and brutality. It was a good story that starts a little slow, but when it gets going it’s a page turner! Heads up if you have any triggers though, this book may not be for you.

A very well-written novel that follows the women of the Ciofani family through time. These ‘wise women’ are intuitive, intelligent, romantic and strong – they are young independent women and the backbones of their families. I really enjoyed following the women that Russell drew for us, and the choices that determined their fates. The lush descriptions of Italy and Italian family tradition had me eating pasta and drinking wine three nights in a row… never a bad decision. The plot was very engaging and the way the authour was able to bring the past to life was gorgeous. Definitely recommend!

I seriously could not stop turning these pages! This story was far too short, and I could have kept reading for another 500 pages, I’m sure. That being said, even though this is a shorter read, it is not lacking in any area! This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I am certainly not disappointed. In this paranormal romance, we have Acheron, a vulture shape-shifter, and Errapel, a hare shape-shifter. These two have been put together by fate, but they are not supposed to be. I was totally enthralled by this author’s writing and am so glad I jumped into this book. 5 stars!

Vanessa is back in the last book of this series, and this is my favorite adventure yet. Vanessa must steal eternal beauty for Alfie (Aroz’s mother, who also happens to be the Goddess of Beauty), and she must go all the way to the tip-top of Tartarus to get it. Will she be able to complete her task? Will she be able to resist sneaking a peak at the eternal beauty for herself? Once again, the characters in this book make the tale come alive and keep the pages turning. To get the most enjoyment out of this book, I recommend reading the first three books, as well – you will not be disappointed. This series is a must for anyone who loves steam and romance alongside mythology and action/adventure. 4 stars!

This is certainly a different style I have come to know from this author but that does not mean bad. On the contrary it is a unique and consuming story. It is set in Italy back in the 1600’s and 1800’s where the narrative and the history lets you see the author’s vision. There is witches and magic, reincarnations and treachery. Even though there is love there is tragedies that have not only shaped her life and the person she is but those of the ones who came before. But there is also humour and this author does humour so well. Will she be able to understand the whispers that surround her before time is up? Is she strong enough to weather the oncoming storm? This romantic story has enough suspense, drama and just the right amount of humour to keep the pages turning.

Just like the other three books in this series, I was sucked in to another dimension. For a few hours at least. If I had the choice to stay in this world with these characters I absolutely would. The author brings an amazing end to this series, even though I don’t want it to.

I have never been a huge fan of romance, but there is just too much to like about these novels. The characters obviously have developed their personalities, but the depictions of the overworld and underworld are outstanding. Even if you do not feel like you would enjoy this book, pick it up anyway. I can almost guarantee you’ll find yourself roped in and unable to get loose.

Is the fourth book in this addictive series and each book gets better and better. This series is different and original from other paranormal books out there. Make sure you read them in order as they follow on from each other, you will love them, promise. This wonderful mythological paranormal romance is full of non-stop action and adventure, mystery and suspense, passion and the chemistry is sexy and sizzling. The world building is only limited by your imagination, the author gives us everything needed to clearly envision her narrative. It is engrossing and interesting, and one that you do not want to put down and when it is finished you want more. I love the characters (well mostly) and I love that Vanessa is strong, resilient and full of sass and has those sexy smexy men who will do anything for her.
If you love paranormal romances, original and unique stories, magic and mythology, prophecies and destinies then grab this series and dig in. This author is a must on anyone’s TBR and fav author lists.

This is book 1 of the Titans of Manhattan series. It’s a story about a marriage of convenience. Caspian has to get and stay married for one year in order to inherit his family’s company that he has worked hard at for years. Paisley is a down on her luck artist whose mother was in a horrific car accident and left in a coma. Caspian and Paisley knew each other as kids and when they run into one another to catch up Caspian proposes the idea of a marriage of convenience that will help him to get his company and her to get her mom’s medical bills covered as well as a million dollars after it’s over. Paisley did the only thing she could do to help her mom… she accepted. Can they make it through the year, will they develop feelings for one another, or will everything go as planned? I found it slightly repetitive and a little slow at times but it has a beautiful story and would definitely recommend it. I will definitely be reading the next book of this series when it comes out!

I had high hopes for this book as the first one was SO good, and it did not disappoint. I love stories where each book in the series follows a different set of characters but still intermingles in the other characters you have met in previous books throughout the story.
The author’s use of rich descriptions while also keeping a conversational tone to her writing makes this book very easy to read and before you know it, it’s coming to an end. I am very much looking forward to reading the next installment and am very curious as to who that story will follow and how the events will flow with those included in this book and the first!

A Sweet Christmas: A Sweet Confections Novella by Nicole Richards – Review by Jennifer Gordon

A Sweet ChristmasA Sweet Christmas by Nicole Richard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A lightheaded and sweet festive romantic novella which was a quick, enjoyable and engaging read. Thea Sheldon is the owner of ‘Sweet Confections’, sadly she has not had the best of luck with men over the years. Mainly because she’s looking for someone who is like they are portrayed in the movies. Then handsome, smooth talking Benjamin Sweet enters her bakery looking for a Thanksgiving present, and he might just be who Thea has been waiting for. Although Thea and Ben were not looking for love, love seems to have found them but can they turn a casual encounter and instant attraction into something more meaning and long term. This fairly short read had me happily turning the pages and I was fully immersed in the storyline and engaged with the likeable characters. I loved Thea and Ben and their chemistry came across in the writing, and I was cheering them on and hoping they would get their HEA. A real festive read which has made me feel ready for Christmas.

This is the 4th book in the series and it is just as full of adventure and steamy romance as the previous 3 books. I would highly recommend reading the previous books in order as this builds the story and shows you how the characters are linked. With this being the last in this series it answers a lot of questions that appear during the other books.
It is full of twists and turns that mean you won’t be able to put it down.

Vanessa and her 3 gods are back. Vanessa is now set on a different path to get a box of beauty from the underworld. This mission is just as dangerous as the others and Vanessa must do it on her own as her gods have the deal with their mothers.

Each of the gods have problems with their mothers and now its time for them to finally sort it out once and for all but what consequences will that have? Not only for them but for Vanessa?

Meanwhile the connection and bond between Vanessa and her 3 gods grows stronger all the time and gets more intense as they all progress through this story together. If you like hunky gods, action packed adventure and steamy romance then this series is definately a good read.

Love’s Reverie (The Stardust Duet, Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Love's Reverie (The Stardust Duet, #2)Love’s Reverie by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love’s Reverie is the second half of the Stardust Duet. If you haven’t read Love’s Refrain yet, I would definitely recommend starting there as the books very much form two halves of a continuous story! It’s a beautiful, romantic story, set between the present day and 1947.
The story centres around a theatre, and I really enjoyed seeing the theatre at two distinct points in its history. The differences, both technological and social, are fascinating. Time travel allows the readers to see both times, and see the two through the eyes of Kat, from the present day, and Phillip, from the past.
This second half of the story sees the development of Kat and Phillip’s relationship, as well as the exploration of the possibilities and limitations of the magic that brought them together. The couple are presented with difficult decisions to make, particularly now that they are more aware of just how much can go wrong!
The character James really came into his own in this second half, and I enjoyed seeing him get more page-time! He is instrumental in many of the logistics of the story, as well as being a connection between the past and the present as one of the few characters who was there in both times. There are a few other connections as well – I audibly gasped once or twice when things fell into place!
I’ve really enjoyed this series. I enjoyed the first book so much that I immediately started the second and read it in one sitting! It definitely gets five stars from me – I wish I could give it six stars!

By Amy Argent

4-stars

This is the second book in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet, this book follows right from the conclusion of book 1 so I highly recommend starting with Come Back Tomorrow first.

Just like book 1, this story follows Will and Tori and their journey going through the medical steps that Will must go through in order to beat Cancer. I’ve thankfully never had to deal with a situation like this one, I can hardly imagine the pain of loving someone through this but this author made it feel really real for me.

I really enjoyed being able to experience the progression of their relationship, even though they are fictional characters I feel really happy for them and the way that it played out.

If you are looking for an emotional romance read look no further this is the book for you!

Love’s Refrain (The Stardust Duet, Book 1) by KG Fletcher – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Love's Refrain (The Stardust Duet, #1)Love’s Refrain by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love’s Refrain is the first book in the Stardust Duet. It’s a romantic story that follows a couple, Phillip and Kat, who seem destined to be together despite being born several decades apart. It’s an enchanting story, set in a historic theatre and with music running through the story.
The magical time travel elements of the story are nuanced enough that it does not feel like a huge departure from reality. The focus is more on representing the two times – present day and 1947 – and the connection between Phillip and Kat that reaches across the gap.
I particularly like the vivid descriptions of things like the theatre, clothes and music. It really draws me into the story! Kat is very glamorous and has a taste for vintage clothing, which features prominently throughout the book, and I loved exploring the theatre with her and discovering its secrets!
This is a two-part series, and the second book (Love’s Reverie) is also available. I barely paused for breath before moving on to it! I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. The second book fully concludes the story, so it is a satisfying, complete series.
This book gets five stars from me. I really enjoyed it! I would recommend it to fans of Audrey Niffenegger and Cecelia Ahern.
