Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A story of small town love after heartbreak. The characters draw you in and have you laughing and crying throughout the book. Especially Griffin’s Meemaw! Reeling from a bad day at work and running into her ex-husband, Breckin has a girl’s night at Griff’s bar, where she gets hammered and Griff volunteers to bring her home. After a few run-ins with each other, the two begin hanging out, plan Griffin’s grandmother’s birthday party, and eventually are spending almost all of their free time together. When Breckin’s ex gets jealous of their relationship, he acts out of anger and does some serious damage. Can Breckin and Griffin overcome trouble and grief over their own pasts and move forward? This was an incredible book and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet romance with a little bit of trouble!

This was a cute and quick little kids book. I would say around ages 0-4 would probably enjoy it. I read it to a little one and they liked the pictures a lot. The colors were bright and inviting, it taught some counting and most of all that even when things aren’t perfect there are blessings all around.

Much like the first book, this one is just as engaging. The characters are as well-crafted and written as they were in the prequel, and the story keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. There was the same amount of depth and research that went into this book as in the first. I spent no time being bored with this book—it was all non-stop thrills and intrigue. I didn’t want to stop reading! The chemistry between the characters and the turns along the way make for a very entertaining story. The fact it can be read as a standalone is simply a bonus.

The book immediately draws you in. There is no other way around it—it’s a real page-turner from the word ‘go’. Lauren is an interesting character; honestly, her reactions to the events in the book are just incredibly realistic. It’s easy to lose yourself in the story. The portrayal of police work was engaging (though I’m not sure how accurate it is—I’ve never dealt with the police before!). It was just a fantastic example of suspense and intrigue to keep the reader on the edge of their seat. I give this book 4 stars and a place on my Re-read shelf.

5 stars!

Excellent read! This is the fourth book in the series and it may have been the best one yet. In this book there is more drama and involvement from the brother’s evil mothers. Watching Vanessa grow into her role in the underworld, juggle her 3 men and trying to complete silly tasks for their mothers is a wild ride. She handles herself nicely, she even preforms a hero act that comes back to bite her but, that just proves time and again why she has snagged the hearts and protection of the three most powerful Gods. In the end she is promoted and I was ecstatic to get a prologue on how they were all enjoying their new lives. This series was a fantastic, fun, romantic, dramatic ride and I enjoyed every minute. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author!

I have been a loyal fan of this series, since the first novel. With that I have followed Vanessa and her friends, through many adventures, sexy moments, drama filled scenes, and well anything you can think of! I really grew with all of them to who they would be! I was sad to see this amazing series wrap up and come to an end, but the way it ended literally blew my expectations. This was concluded, well, just perfectly!

I know in the previous books there was a lot going on, and there was a lot of moments I had actually thought to myself, how will this end with this not leaving a million questions for myself. I was way wrong. Honestly this one flowed like a river so perfectly. Everyone got their ending I would say, even Vanessa the girl who really started it all! Vanessa is pushed past her limits in this one, I always found her very admirable, but this test took literally all she had with in he, it involved her, a box, her lovers, and well their mothers. I did not expect the ordeal to be what it was, I was amazed and how things went through I was shocked at times as well. It all leads to the conclusion though which blew my mind!

This book was literally packed with emotions and feelings as I read through. I had grown to love Vanessa, Grey, Aroz, and Raef! All were different and specials, but they are what made the series so darn good. It was their differences that shined but all were all connected whether they liked it or not! The book gave a whole lot! I was more than impressed and full of emotion. As we gather towards the conclusion and well a ending that can send shivers down your spine, it was just the way it was always meant to! I loved this book so much, the ending made this book as well as this series. I could not ask for a better ending, and everything I had concerns or questions how to sum something up, well it was! I was left just with a happy brain and heart and felt completely content upon reading! Amazing ending to a series!

I am sad to say good bye to my beloved friends and characters (for now as I will for sure be rereading this series over) I know that their stories all came to a close, and everything need the way it should be and well was always meant to me These characters made the series come to life so darn well, I enjoyed my moments with them, really them all! I am so happy I was able to come across this series, as it rocked my world, with Gods and all haha! I highly do recommend you reading this book as well as the series, and do read it in order, defiantly helps with the back story and what happened previously. I do say this is a must read for anyone, and a super high recommendation from me to you! Do not pass up this fantastic series!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow just wow! This was such a good book, it was very well written, how could I not love it!? The writing knew ow to draw you in and make you really fall for these characters, the author did a wonderful job at making this story and the characters come to life!

I really enjoyed going to the deep end reading about Paisley and Archer. Both characters needed something that the other could give. Paisley-loved her right off the bat, especially how she cared so much for her mom, she was a good hearted characters and I instantly felt for her. Archer sees a way to gain what he wants in terms of money, he will help out Paisley in terms of an agreement for marriage and not to fall one another. I mean not like they have history, they knew each other way back when, but memories you made as children don’t follow you into the future years later does it? This should be easy for these two souls who are nothing alike right?

At first glance I thought Archer came off as a high almighty jerk. I was wrong though. Beneath his surface was a sweet man, one that had glued his puzzles back together so much, he ran out of glue and the pieces looked kind of sloppy at this point. He had a lot of character development, and I began very quickly from first glance to understand him, as well as admire him in different ways. Paisley changed as well, she trusted Archer more and opened up more. Their development not only as characters, but really as a potential couple, despite what they agreed on was really realistic to me. Well done on this writing!

Amazing read, and for me the developments all over this book that happened with the plot, the characters, as even the side characters, greatly contributed to this wonderful book. I was s happy and nose deep in reading, loved the hot steam coming off this book! The story was very real as I have said, and the book played out perfectly well. Defiantly a must read, and yes I do highly recommend you read it!

I don’t usually read holiday books or novellas because I get too invested for something so short but I’m so glad I picked this one up. It’s so sweet and light-hearted. This book is a novella so it was a quick read but totally worth it!

Thea doesn’t seem to have the best luck when it comes to guys. Dealing with a recent break up, she doesn’t expect to experience a connection with anyone let alone Benjamin, as he walks into her bakery. Who knew looking for cupcakes could turn into something so sweet!

I really enjoyed these characters. Thea was so sweet! Such a good read!

I’m so glad that Gargonita and Pretty Kitty are in the final installment of this series. If you haven’t read the first three, run don’t walk to get them! Each one is just as amazing as the one before it and it gives you all of the background that you need to really immerse yourself in this amazing book. Vanessa faces what is to be her toughest test ever and there are so many jealous mothers conspiring to see that she fails. She’s separated from her three loves and really has to draw on all of her inner strength to pull through this. Poor Aroz has been through so much already, seeing him suffering yet again was heartbreaking.
All three men have to face off against their evil mothers and find a way to prevail against them once and for all. I was cheering for the guys for standing up to them and cheering for Vanessa as she fully came into who she was always meant to be. The ending is the most perfect ending I could have ever hoped for and it pulled the whole series together absolutely perfectly! This is definitely a book not to be missed, and a series that I will enjoy reading again and again in the future because it is just that amazing!

Caspian is such a broken man inside when he appears to the outside world to have it all. Now his Uncle is dying and has forced him to marry to keep his fortune. When he runs into an old childhood friend that is in a desperate situation with her ill mother, he thinks they can solve each other’s problems. It doesn’t take long for Caspian and Paisley to realize that there is no way either of them can keep it strictly a professional arrangement. Yes, there is undeniable hot sizzling chemistry between the two of them but there is so much more than that. Finding out about Caspian’s childhood broke my heart and made his current life up to reconnecting with Paisley make so much sense. Paisley makes him want to be her Prince, her Knight in Shining Armor, even though he uses less than completely honest measures to try to show her how much she means to him. It all blows up in his face and he quickly does everything he can to make it up to her and beg her forgiveness. Can love really conquer all? The ending was epic and absolutely took my breath away! I cannot wait to read the rest of the Titans series.

Conveniently Yours is the first book in the Titans of Manhattan series by Anise Storm. I have read a few of this author’s books before and loved every one, so I didn’t even have to think about purchasing this book to read, and happily one-clicked a copy and dove in as soon as it hit my Kindle.
I have to be honest, the start of this book had me a little worried as I was pretty sure I was going to hate Caspian, our male MC… but I kept reading and surprisingly he, and the author, won me over in only a few short chapters. By that time I was well and truly hooked- completely invested in the characters and the outcome of their story.
Caspian Archer is a titan of the corporate world. His past still haunts him- the driving force behind his rise to success. He leads an enviable lifestyle, with anything he wants within his reach. So, when his uncle demands that Caspian marries quickly, or face losing everything he has worked so hard for, Caspian has no choice but to come up with a cunning plan. Bumping into his long-lost childhood friend in his hour of need seems quite fatuitous, for them both.
Paisley Fischer is down on her luck- all her hopes and dreams are crumbling before her, and on top of it all she faces losing her beloved mother if she can’t find the funds to provide the medical care she desperately needs. But a blast from the past might just hold the key to not only keeping her head above water, but more importantly being able to properly care for her mother. Will she agree to his unconventional proposal? Has she got what it takes to carry out the plan? This story is definitely worth the read to find out!
This story is a superb fake marriage contemporary romance with plenty of chemistry, sparks, and sizzle. There are angsty and emotional moments, and times where these two characters either made me want to shake some sense into them or wrap my arms around them in a huge hug for what they had been, or were going through….
Colour me hooked on this series now and I can not wait to get my hands on Book #2, it can’t come quick enough!

Happy reading!

Thank you, Anise Storm!

A delightful, easy read! I read this sweet novella easily in one sitting. The author creates a beautiful whirlwind romance with lovely characters. The attraction between Ben and Thea is palpable from their first meeting and the beginning of their journey is something you’d expect in a movie! As with many novellas, I wished for a little more deep character development, but you still get a really good feel for the characters and their lives. This is a sweet, no pun intended, romance with the slightest hint of drama, but mostly a sweet, easy read. It was well-written and easy to follow and I’d be interested in other stories by this author!

This was a really good book! This is a fake fiance/fake marriage kind of story, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. It took me several chapters to really start getting into it, and I feel like the author skipped around a lot of events that she could have went into more detail about, like the wedding and just their life in general. Weeks and months would go by and everything was just kind of skipped or glossed over. I really enjoyed reading this story, it was enthralling and captured my attention and I loved the characters, but I would have enjoyed having a bit better of a timeline while I was reading this. I did enjoy this boom however and I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!

Magic-Price (The Crown of Stones, #1)Magic-Price by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An interesting dark fantasy with a tortured protagonist. Ian Troy fears the power his body can wield, and has attempted for many years to drown out the calling to release it. He is shamed by how uncontrollable his magic can be, and has paid dearly at the times it has taken over him. Having white-knuckled through the temptations for a decade, he stumbles into a battle which thrusts him back into the world of magic. I liked getting to know this unlikely hero, the pieces of dark and the pieces of light. The plot has plenty of battle scenes with armed combatants, and a nefarious villain to be rooted out. Lots of twists and turns in the plot as Troy is forced back to answer for his past sins and to stop future ones. A solid book that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can.

Book 2 finds Lauren free-lancing as a court stenographer after the events of Book 1, if you have the chance, read them in order to understand exactly what she went through.

When she finds herself temping with her ex-husband residing as judge over another murder in town, Lauren starts questioning staying on in Crawford… Even though she keeps trying to make healthy choices, continuing to work alongside the ex might not be one of them.

Romantic interest simmers along beside the twisting plot full of suspects and intrigue.. we keep hoping. Though you won’t get any spoilers out of me.

An excellent second book in what I hope will be just the beginning of many adventures for Lauren.

Caspian Archer came from nothing until his uncle took him in, raised him as his own, and taught him everything he knew about running a highly successful company. When his uncle realizes that Caspian has become a workaholic, he tries to resolve it in the only way he can think of how to. He gives him an ultimatum. Get married and keep the company he has worked hard for over the years, or stay single and lose it all. For Caspian, that is easier said than done. He has surrounded himself with women that are beautiful and enjoyable, but not marriage material. Then he bumps into Paisley, a girl from his past that he knew before his uncle took him in. She’s unassuming, destitute, and the perfect girl for his dilemma. That is, until they actually fall in love with each other! Caspian has to open himself up to love or lose her and his chance at true happiness forever.

For the most part, I enjoyed this read. While I could not identify with Caspian or his world, I did connect with Paisley. I was drawn into their love story rather quickly. I appreciated that when Paisley was destitute, she never lost her pride and she knew her self worth. I would have liked to have seen more interactions with the other Titans of Manhattan, as this is the first book in the series. The next Titan was introduced in a very cursory manner in the middle of the book and wasn’t really mentioned again until the very end.

All in all, it was a quick read that was fun. However, it was a little too detailed for me in some parts. LOL I would definitely categorize this as a steamy, adult read.

As soon as the end of October/ beginning of November comes around I am in Christmas mode. My favorite part about the holiday approaching is reading a good, wholesome holiday romance. Think made for TV movie, in book form. I loved this novella from start to finish. It truly had everything I’ve come
to love in a holiday romance, cute, relatable characters, a believable storyline and a strong writing style. It isn’t often I find myself liking both main characters, I often find female main characters as needy or over the top, this wasn’t the case in this storyline. This is a new author to me so as always I didn’t quite know what to expect. She exceeded my expectations and I look forward to looking into her writing more in the future.

The author describes characters and settings with enough detail I could picture the scenes in my mind. I especially loved the attention given to food; I felt as though I were dining and experiencing the meals with the characters. As far as the mystery, I was happy the author kept me guessing who the killer was. Pick this one up if you are looking for a great mystery with a shocking ending.

This story captivated me from page one. Caspian was raised around wealth for most of his life by his uncle and has worked hard to one day take over his uncle’s company. His uncle finds out he is dying and, in his will, tells Caspian that he must wed…for one year plus a day or the company turns over to his cousins. Paisley’s mom was in a car accident and has been in a coma for months, her insurance is running out and needs to be moved to another facility. Paisley doesn’t know what she is going to do to pay for the care her mother still needs.
Caspian and Paisley knew each other a lifetime ago, growing up as neighbors. They happen to run into each other at the hospital after visiting their prospective family members. Caspian recognizes her eyes…but from where? He has to ask her name to place her in his mind. Finding out about her mother, Caspian offers marriage of convenience and they both will come out on top.
The slow burning sexual tension between them was making the pages smolder. Could I marry for convenience? Knowing my mother would be taken care of in a way that I couldn’t, probably. Was Caspian’s uncle right? Can love grow from nothing? I loved this story and can’t wait for more.

Conveniently Yours is for the women who love an Alpha male romance! I’m not discounting the strength of our female main character, however alpha male novels have a following and this book right here should be at the top of their I WANT TO READ LIST! For me personally it’s a guilty pleasure!
It starts dominating oozing strength, but it sweetly comes full circle for Caspian, a man who’s early childhood was a nightmare. He did everything in his power to make sure never to return to that life again. Becoming one of the big serious titans of NYC. That is until his uncle kicks him down a few notches when he threatens to take it all away unless his nephew marries.
In slams Paisley right back into Caspian’s life, a man she hasn’t seen since he was her child & neighborhood hero. Paisley, down on her luck due to her mother being in a serious accident, doesn’t know how she’s going to survive.
You can use your imagination as to where it goes from there or YOU CAN DOWNLOAD AND READ IT!!!! lol If you enjoy these types of romances like I do you’ll love it. It’s the best dose of Sweet & Spicy!!
